When I start up firefox I get two windows that open in succession, one with my 'home page' and the other with the site I am seeking. How do I stop this?

This only occurs when I first open Firefox. Using tabs once I am down to one window does not open a new window.

Do you have both those pages set as your Homepages?

I have Windows XP. Firefox updated to version 6 automatically even though I have it set to notify and ask. Also just automatically updated again. How can I stop this?

I have Firefox set to automatically look for updates then ask if I want to install them. I do this when convenient (may also need to restrict downloads on another machine when paying for Internet use by amount downloaded) Until recently it did just this. Firtefox 6 seems to have downloaded & installed (& lost all passwords & cookies) I assumed this happened when someone else was using the machine & said yes. Does Firefox switch to full screen if you press F11 ?
You can also try the F10 key to see if that brings up the menu bar.

This is iMessages, not an SMS/MMS, and this means the same Apple ID is registered for iMessage on each iPhone.
You or your daughter need to activate your own Apple ID for iMessage and FaceTime. The same Apple ID can continue to be shared for iTunes store downloads - for music and apps.
On the iPhone, go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. Select the Apple ID at the top and sign out. Sign in with the new Apple ID.

Find and delete any and all .ipsw files on your computer. There should only be one, but delete all that you find. Next, disable ALL firewalls & security software on your computer. Connect your phone, iTunes running & restore from backup. Follow this by syncing your content back to your phone.
This will force iTunes to re-download the .ipsw file, as I suspect yours is corrupt.

Same error message, I disabled tab mix and made sure I only have the newest version of Java, restarted firefox, now it seems to be fine no error yet on Pogo games or pictures upload to ebay which were the biggest problems besides hanging. I had also had disabled AVG secure search yesterday but that did not solve the issue. Some sites automatically redirect you to a site in the local language.
There is usually a link on such websites choose a language or go to an international version that allows to chose the language.
You can click the link at the bottom of the local Google page (www.google.xx.xx) to go to the [http://www.gooogle.com/ncr "Google.com in English"] site.
You may need to hover that local Google page with the mouse to make extra content appear.
You can set the Google preferences on the [http://www.google.com/preferences?hl=en Google Search settings] page (link at the top right).
Such settings are stored in a cookie on your computer that you need to allow: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Exceptions" or Tools > Page Info > Permissions.
