When playing a song on ipod touch 4th gen, the display doesn't show the time lenghth of song or the shuffle, repeat options. Any thoughts??
When I used to play music, the song display showed the album art, the length of the song and how much time was left, it also had a repeat and shuffle option at the bottom of the screen A couple of days ago, these things disappeared. Any thoughts??
when the song is playing/on the music player tap the album cover or the middle of the screen and these things should pop up for you. If that doesn't work then i dont know.

thatnksNever mind, got it to work. I stumbled around on Google for a while and somehow ended up reading things from the 'jailbroken' community. They had easy instructions to get out of Recovery mode. Thanks anyway though!
P.S. For anyone who experiences this, here is the fix: Hold Power and Home in unison for 6 seconds, then power on as normal. -
When try to connect my iPod touch 4th gen to my house Wifi it won't connect, it used to work fine but now it dosen't work, but it does say that the internet is available, but when I tap on it it just loads. all other devices work fine.
Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tend to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Your iPod can only be synced with one computer at a time. If you try to sync it with a new computer/iTunes library, it will replace the contents of the iPod with whatever is in the new library. You should probably disable the autosync functionality first by going to Edit -> Preferences, clicking the Devices tab, and enabling the prevent iPods,iPhones, and iPads from automatically syncing option.
Before doing anything else, authorize the new computer with your iTunes Account. In iTunes, choose Store -> Authorize This Computer and enter in the correct credentials. Either copy a backup file from your old computer to your new one or create a new backup of your iPod in iTunes before letting it sync.
Then right->click on your iPod Touch from under the Devices section in the left hand pane of iTunes and choose Backup. You might also want to take a look at this article to see what it all included in the backup.

Now onto synced content such as music, videos, photos, etc. For iTunes purchases you can copy them back into iTunes by choosing File -> Transfer Purchases. i have an ipod touch 4th gen ... love it .. but only one problem... the headphone jack is giving trouble.... help me plz!!
Have you verified that it is the headphone jack that is the problem by trying opther sets of headphones?
Have you tried cleaning the jack by using a QTip or similar ite?
If you confirmed that the headphone jack is the problem Apple will ony exchange the iPod for $99, $149 or $1999 depending upon the capacity.
A third-party place like the following is less expensive. Google for other places.

IPod touch 4th gen that wont charge or show up in itunes.
I have an iPod touch 4th gen. that wont charge. When I plug it in, it shows the battery with a little red at the one end and a lighting bolt ( the usual screen when charing the itouch after it is completely dead). I have left it in pluged in for a few hours but it never actually charges. Also when I plug it into my computer Itune won't recongnize it. The cords work fine I tested them with my other Ipods and everything worked liked normal. I have tried to restart it by holding the power and home button together but that doesn't seem to help either (again probably because it is dead). Thanks for the help.

Autoplay dialog won't open when I plug in my iPod Touch 4th gen
Hello!
I need to take my iPod into be fixed because it has a cracked screen and I'm trying to import my photos onto my laptop (Windows 7) but when I plug my iPod in nothing happens except the iTunes window pops up. I went into Autoplay and made sure that the setting said "Ask me every time" and then I restarted my laptop but that hasn't helped!
The iPod won't show up in Windows underneath computer.
I then went into accessories and right-clicked "command prompt" and typed in shellhwdetection and I restarted my laptop again but that hasn't helped either!
Any suggestions/ideas will be greatly appreciated!If you manually open iTunes does the iTunes see the iPod?

However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components

I tried to use iCloud to restore but she never set up iCloud. I tried to wipe it with find my iPhone but she never set that up. I put the iPod into recovery mode and connected it to an iTunes account on a different computer but it does not pick up the iPod. When I connect it to iTunes not in recovery mode it says to unlock the iPod before it can connect to iTunes. I don't know where to go from here besides blowing it up or putting it in a microwave. Now everytime I try to finish the update process I get a message " Apple ID couldn't be created because of a server error. I already have an apple ID I am just trying to finish the update so I can use my ipod touch and can not figure out why I keep getting held back at this message
So I found out with alittle research that instead of entering all that info on my ipod, security questions, birthday, ect that it was much easier to just go to http://appleid.apple.com and place all that info there and save it than try the process on my ipod and it finished the update.
