Hi all,
I have been taught to group similiar control/indicator in a cluster for subvi. However, lately, I realized that it takes a lot of space to bundle and unbundle cluster. If I have use cluster for the input/output of many of my subvis, I wont' have much space left. However, I do realized that the cluster funciton document the block diagram nicely.
Due to space problem, I start creating more individual single input/output instead of cluster, and it makes the code cleaner, but less documented.
How do you draw the line?

and yes- using clusters does cause a space hit on the BD's For now! looking forward, since this claims to be on the way, You can think about moving the line towards clusters and away from individual elements. Ravens Fan's tip on using the caption is another graet idea on how to minimize the BD space effects.
Now I'd like to give you my take on "How to draw the line."
Many good points were made- and a lot of posters have some well reasoned arguments for or against based on Connector panes, Style guides, BD readability and personal preferances. Yet I think it is worthwhile to dig into what improves your code.
I've learned that only three things help me decide how to structure data:
Abstraction- Can I group these variables in a why that hides details at upper levels and displays the details where they are used? A VISA Resource is a great example of abstraction One simple wire but, wow! access to each individual property when you need it. A cluster is another good way to abstract data. One discriptive name for a scalable group of variables.
Encapsulation- Can I reduce the number of data containers by organizing them in a heirarchy? Windows folders are one example- they don't really do anything but hold files in related groups. This may be the worst excuse for using a cluster if your "filing system" is poor.
Cohesion- Can I reduce coding errors by demanding a special wire type? By useing a type-def cluster you will see that the data must be passed as a group- you cannot accidentally cross two bools that the sub-vi uses or misswire any data type. at the least youl break the vi where there are mis-typed clusters.
Again, this skill is something that each programmer developes with time but, intentionally exploring data managment concepts like abstraction, encapsulation and cohesion will help this skill grow like super-vitamins!

I am having issues setting up converged network in VMM. I have been working with MS engineers to no avail. I am very surprised with the expertise of the MS engineers. They had no idea what a converged network even was. I had way more

Everyone including our consultants says my setup is correct.
What I want to do:
I have servers with 5 nics and want to use 3 of the nics for a team and then configure cluster, live migration and host management as virtual network adapters. I have created all my logical networks, port profile with the uplink defined as team and
networks selected. Created logical switch and associated portprofle. When I deploy logical switch and create virtual network adapters the logical switch works for VMs and my management nic works as well. Problem is that the cluster and live
migration virtual nics do not work. The correct Vlans get pulled in for the corresponding networks and If I run get-vmnetworkadaptervlan it shows cluster and live migration in vlans 14 and 15 which is correct. However nics do not work at all.
I finally decided to do this via the host in powershell and everything works fine which means this is definitely an issue with VMM. I then imported host into VMM again but now I cannot use any of the objects I created and VMM and have to use standard
switch.
I am really losing faith in VMM fast.
Hosts are 2012 R2 and VMM is 2012 R2 all fresh builds with latest drivers

Are you using static IP address assignment for those vNICs?
Are you sure your are teaming the correct physical adapters where the VLANs are trunked through the connected ports?
Note; if you create the teaming configuration outside of VMM, and then import the hosts to VMM, then VMM will not recognize the configuration.

Try starting Aperture with the command and option keys held down. You'll get 3 options.
Try each, starting at the top, in order, checking after each to see if it fixes the issue.

You can contact the iTunes Store Customer Service department at no charge using the form on their Support page (select the category and subcategory closest to the issue you're reporting and you'll find an "Email Us" button) and explain your problem to them.

How do you expect anyone to help when we don't know a darned thing about the file, abut your setup, exact version of Photoshop and your OS, machine specs, etc.?

I have tried to uninstall all Abode Acrobat installations but one file remains and refuses to be uninstalled. It gives me this error : Error applying Transforms . Sylonious, did you manage to sort this problem out? I have been experiencing similar problems. I think my problem was because I had many different versions of JDKs. I have done a complete re-install. I would be really grateful to you (and anyone else) for help with this problem.
I have re-installed JSDK1.4.2_03, set the "path" variable to "C:\JSDK1.4.2_03".
When I compile using "javac" I get an error saying "javac" is not recognised.
When I compile using "C:\j2sdk1.4.2_03\bin\javac Freq.java" no error is thrown.
Every time I try to run a java file, I always get the NoClassDefFound error. When run with the -verbose option, files are loaded from C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_03\bin - is this correct?
I have removed all previous references to java in the registry editor.

On the iOS device you must be logged into the store with the exact same Apple ID you used to originally purchase the service. Go to Setting > iTunes & App Stores and if necessary sign out/in and then enable iTM.

Ipad will connect no problem to other networks.

First thing you need I think is to get your iMac connected to the Internet.
Shut down your iMac and you iPad. Then power off your router. Wait 30 seconds and power up the router.
After the router indicates that it is connected to the Internet then start up your iMac and see if it connects. If the iMac connects to the Internet then your iPad should too.
If this power up sequence doesn't work you'll have to dig into the router setup to make sure it is working properly.

I don't know how rare this is. I went a week or so without a problem, and now it's starting to recur. Also, in some instances, an email will look unsent (remain in the outbox on the Treo), but it has been sent, and recipients are replying while I'm trying to figure out what is going on. Further, it will send the same email over and over during this madness.
This is a show stopper. If there isn't a software fix soon, I may chuck this phone in the garbage.

UPDATE: The problem comes and goes. The next day, no changes to the treo, everything workeds. Now i'm suspecting the sprint server, and how it/the phone responds from failing to send while roaming. I've since turned off roaming, and haven't had a problem for several days.

"The file is damaged and could not be repaired" error when trying to open a PDF in Reader

A few of our employess (only 3 out of over 100 so far) have been getting the error, "The file is damaged and could not be repaired" when trying to open some PDFs. Other people are able to open the same PDF files with no error. It's happening on about 10% of the time. I've read a bunch of threads here with this isue and tried some suggested fixes and nothing has resolved the issue. Here is what I have found works and does not work and the info on their computers:
Computers:
1 Dell Vostro desktop running WIndows 7
1 Toshiba Satellite C55 runnign Windows 8
1 Samsung ATIV Book 4 running Windows 8
All using Adobe Reader XI but we did uninstall that version and tried previous versions and still got the error.
Did Not Work:
As suggested by the company that we use online for claims adjustments where this error is occuring, we tried using a different PDF creator since the files were created using a free PDF creator by the employees. PDF995 and PDFcreator (pdfforge) did not resolve the issue. I then created the PDFs with my Adobe Acrobat, uploaded from my computer to the online program, and that did not resolve the issue.
Saving the file to hard drive and then opening in Adobe did not work.
Turning off Protected Mode and Enhanced Security did not work.
Compatibility View settings enabled in Internet Explorer 10 did not resolve the issue. The previously mentioned claims adjustment software company we use online was code for IE so is not fully compatible with other browsers.
That being said I did try to open the PDF files in Chrome and it also did not work. Same error message.
Does work:
I download the file they cannot open onto my hard drive, open in Adobe Acrobat, Save as a pdf, then email it to them and they can open it via email attachment.
If they close the error and continue trying to open the file over and over sometimes it will eventually open.
Is there a setting in Windows that is preventing them from opening a small % of files some of the time? Thanks in advance for any help!

If anyone is reading this still looking for what caused the issue and how to fix it here is what I discovered.
The antivirus program our company uses, Bitdefender Antivirus Plus, was causing some of the PDF files not to open. After troubleshooting the different modules and settings the culprit was..
Scan SSL in Privacy Control Settings. Turning it OFF solved the problem and all the PDF files that previously would not open now open just fine. This issue has been sent to Bitdefender for them to review. If you use a different antivirus program and are having this issue try locating the Scan SSL setting and see if turning it off solves the problem.

I have backups going back 6 months - I have not had the real need to check every album before - but - all of my backups also have this same problem.

The triangle with the ! indicates that the connection between the thumbnail and the orginal is missing - this can be caused by many things including database corruption and user action emoving the originals photos on urpose or by accident
If the database is corrupted then rebuilding is the solution - backup and depress the option and command keys, launch iPhoto and rebuild your database -- if the iPhoto rebuild does not cure the problem then download iPhoto Library manager and use its rebuild command which creates a totally new library leaving the existing one untouched
If you have deleted the photos then you need to start over with a new library and import the photos you have not deleted into it
You can select one of the problem photos and use the reveal original in finder commander (file menu) to see if the original is there - if it is a finder window will open showing it

With OSX10.7.5 and Adobe Reader 11.0.02 when I try to open a PDF downloaded from the web I get 'There was an error opening this document. This file is damaged and could not be repaired. Preview will not open either. Older PDFs OK.

I am running OS X 10.7.5 and Adobe Reader 11.0.02. In the last few days I have been unable to open PDF's downloaded from the web. Reader gives the error message 'There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired'. Removing Reader and trying to use Preview to open these files give the error 'Preview cannot open this file. It may be damaged or use a file format that Preview doesn't recognise' (or something like that). Downloading the same files with Reader removed from my Mac Preview opens the files OK.
I was recently prompted to update Adobe software but did not note exactly what the update was nor when it was done.
Reader and Preview will both open PDFs I downloaded a week ago. Reader will also open files downloaded on another Mac running OS X 10.0.0 and copied to my Mac. Any ideas?
