Where are the J2EE services?

I have successfully installed the SAP NetWeaver 7.0 2004s trial version on my Linux system.
Thanks to this forum, I got my license file installed and my system is up and somewhat functional.  However, I don't think the Java stack was correctly installed or functioning.  ....or I'm making a really big assumption.
I used transaction SICF to switch on the /sap/xi hierarchy of applications and the ping application.  I can successfully ping resources like http://hostname:8001/sap/xi/adapter_plain http://host:8001/sap/public/ping
Ok, that's a good start, but what happened with the other common URL's like host:50100/nwa and :50100/useradmin :50100/sld
None of those URL's are available.  I made the assumption that the NetWeaver trial came with both the ABAP and Java stacks.  So when checked the file system I fond my directory structure to include:
/usr/sap/N4S/DVDEBMSG01
/usr/sap/N4S/SCS00
/usr/sap/N4S/SYS
I expected to find a /usr/sap/N4S/JC01 directory.
Looks like I need to install some more software.  I guess I need the WAS 6.40 now?
Or did  I make a mistake during the installation process?

We're getting somewhere now!  I'm starting to suspect that the JAVA_HOME parameter is incorrect throughout the configuration.  The path to the "Java for SAP Customers" is /opt/IBMJava2-amd64-142 throughout these log files I see references to an empty directory /usr/lib/java.
But let's break it down one on piece at a time.
Here's the instance profile  /usr/sap/N4S/SYS/profile/N4S_DVEBMGS01_n4shost

# Jcontrol: Migrated Profile Parameter
#            create at Tue Jun 13 00:41:51 2006

At first glance, I think this parameter:
jstartup/vm/home = /usr/lib/java
should be
jstartup/vm/home = /opt/IBMJava2-amd64-142
As for the other log files you suggested I check - these two don't exist:
/usr/sap/N4S/DVEBMGS01/work/std_server.*
/usr/sap/N4S/DVEBMGS01/work/dev_dispatcher*
...and the /usr/sap/N4S/DVEBMGS01/work/std_bootstrap.* logs are essentially empty - just some header data.
*EDIT* I was going to post the dev_jcontrol log file here, but it complete screwed up the formatting of the message, so I cut it out and will try to post it in a different message.   After reading the dev_jcontrol log, it became apparent that I needed to have a look at the J2EE instance properties file.
In the interests of brevity, I snipped out what I thought were the relevant bits of /usr/sap/N4S/DVEBMGS01/j2ee/cluster/instance.properties

Those JavaPath statements look suspect to me.  What do you think?  Did the installation process pickup the wrong java path?

  • (261936172) Q general Where are the Web Service source files?

Q <general> Where are the source files for a Web Service created
with WebLogic Workshop stored? How do I deploy the Web Service
on a different WebLogic Server? Is there a way to bundle the
Web Service project files manually to distribute them?
Is there a way to configure the directory where Workshop stores
    the files?
ANSWER: (by Adam Fitzgerald, [email protected]) The .jws files are stored
in the project folder. This can be located on a local system, although by default
they are in c:\bea\wlserver700b\sample\workshop\applications. The Web Service
structure is understood by WLS 7.0 so by archiving the appropriate folder you
can transfer the Web Service in its entirety from one deployment to another.

  • Do you send the real traffic or a copy when you are using the CWS service and where are the datacenters located ?

Hi, when you redirect traffic to the CWS service for scanning, do you redirect the real traffic this way or is it a mirrored copy of the traffic ?
If all traffic is redirected to the Cloud, where are the Cisco datacenters located. Good to know I guess, since you don't want to avoid to much of latency

Just out of curiosity... Is there something you do

To answer your question: no, not really. However, the points that I made here were about Safari and accompanying utilities, not about Apple in general.
If it makes you feel any better, I am just as, or even more, critical of Micro$oft as the occasions arise...Windoze Vista is the most recent occasion and has given sufficient reasons and opportunities to vent my spleen that I actually have eased up on Apple, politicians, nut-case religious extremists, cell phone owners, and the Department of Homeland Paranioa, etc., due to an exhaustion of creative energy.

WHERE ARE the Linux Oracle Services created by the OUI (such as listener, db, apache, etc) and how cn i start / stop them automatically ?
Also, is there in any place "the oracle program group menus" like in WINDOWS START MENU, so we can see all programs installed ?
    I Installed 9iAS release 2 in RedHat
    Thanks

I use 8.1.7 on LInux. There are dbshut and dbstart scripts in $ORACLE_HOME/bin and there is example of "service-script" in Installation Guiede. So you can create "service-scripts", put in in /etc/rc.d/init.d and usecommends like /etc/rc.d/init/oradb start/stop, besides it you can make links for this script in rc.0, rc.6, rc.3 etc.. (like other services). You may write me a letter ([email protected]) and I'll send you service-scripts, if you will have troubles.

  • Where are the next shipments of iPhone 3G's?

I figured maybe someone here might be able to provide me some insight to the question; Where are all of (new shipments of) the iPhone 3G's?
I believed Apple would insured shipments were made to all their stores so that Tuesday there would have been more, and Wednesday, and so on until sales started to drop off where daily shipments were no longer necessary. Much to my disbelief, Monday and Tuesday shows no new shipments made to apparently anywhere in VA, MD, NJ, PA, OH, IA, IN, TN, KY, DE, CT, MA, NH, RI, or NY. There is a store here and a store there in some of those 15 states that shows one of them in stock, but essentially, they are gone. If you look at California and New York where the flagship stores are, they have some (probably a large quantity) of each of the 3 choices of the iPhone 3G.
Monday may have been an 'Out of Stock' day because phones couldn't be shipped out on Sunday but, what I don't understand is how on a Tuesday there are extremely few, if any to be found in the states I mentioned. What was the logic used when Apple decided that only after 9PM can you check the availability of the phone for the next day and not have some sort of 'real-time' tracking. Does this mean that if a store gets a shipment at 2PM this afternoon and you happen to be in the store (again, the store in my area won't answer their phone) you can purchase one, or are those phones only available for the next day? Even AT&T is providing 'real-time' (or at least semi-real-time) availabilty for the customer's that chose to go the Direct Fulfillment route.
The local Apple store doesn't answer the phone anymore (even AT&T stores are answering, they just start off with '...we don't have iPhone's...'). I understand they are busy but as a minimum level of customer service, someone should always be stationed to answer the phone for customer's. When I went into the store I was greated with a blank stare while I asked about availability then politely advised; '...no, sorry, we don't have any right now and we don't know when we're getting anymore, but check the web site tonight...'.
The AT&T stores (Apple's premiere partner) can't even get any to sell (other than using Direct Fulfillment), Apple stores now answering their phones, and now the online availability showing no phones in stock 5 days after release within a 15 state area. I think that demands that questions be asked to individuals at Apple's corporate level that determined the marketing and supply strategies for a major product release like this.
I congratulate Apple on the milestone achievement of selling 1 million iPhone 3G's in a 3 day period, but I find it difficult to believe that a global leader like Apple would have failed to anticipate this kind of demand and the response to consumers to be '...we don't have anymore...' or '...we have a shortage problem...'. The question again; Where are the new iPhone 3G's, and when will they be available for us to purchase again? If the statement that stores are getting shipments daily is true...

Thanks Nathan, and that's where I have been checking at since Friday evening. IMO though, it's only 50% effective simply because it isn't real time, you can only check it for the 11 - 12 hours a location is closed. If a location receives stock in at 11am today, well you wouldn't know that unless you go into the store every day and ask (and most likely you're not going to get an answer from the store reps other than what I noted above) or after 9PM. A leader in the computer industry such as Apple should be more than capable to provide real-time tracking of produc availability (in fact, they do it all the time for their online store).
Right now, it's not so much that I can't tell whether a store has stock or not but more of why isn't the phone in stock in most of 15 states on the Tuesday after the launch weekend? Is Apple sold out? Are the stores holding them until this weekend for another 'spectacle' event? Why don't the stores answer their phones to advise customers during the day if the shipment 'they receive most days' is there and you can stop in and pick one up?
Bottom line, my opinion is that the management of the release, distribution and sales of this particular product (at least where I'm at) is lacking the minimum level of customer service that should be the standard in the industry, let alone for Apple.

  • Where are the e-mail settings?

Hi, I have an E72, I have set up a POP3 e-mail server and I can receive e-mails with no problem, but I cannot send any! Now, I know how to solve the problem, I simply have to change the outgoing port number to the new one given by my e-mail provider, but I CANNOT FIND WHERE ARE THE OUTGOING SERVER SETTINGS!
The E-mail -> Settings -> Mailbox name -> Mailbox settings tab only has one server setting in it, and it says "Server name". There are no separate settings for Incoming and Outgoing servers! Where can I change them? In the Advanced mailbox settings there is only one setting - for the port number, but again not a thing about which are my ingoing and outgoing servers.
    Pls help.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    thanks albyzas, thanks thetao.
I have the last version (3.21 I think) and I know where the in/out settings should be located, but here is no such thing under the "Advanced Mailbox Settings"! The only settings I have are the port number and the secure connection on/off. I have this problem since I bought the E72. Previously, I had E71 and it had the in/out settings there!
BTW the provider I use is listed automatically for my country, just below Hotmail, Gmail and Yahoo (I don't have to click "Other")
    So I have some questions:
    2) Delete and remake the mailbox.  Don't use Nokia Messaging (their push service) by Declining the terms of service.  Maybe that provides more control?
If I decline them, what client will I be using then?
    3) Can you remove the email client?  I hesitate suggesting that because some people have reported being unable to reinstall...but you can try if you feel daring.
If I remove it, how can I reinstall it later?
    4) Do you recall when the problem started?  If it happened after a firmware update, a hard reset ( *#7370# , default password 12345) will sometimes fix weird issues that occur after installing new firmware.  Be sure to make a backup first.
The Problem started when my e-mail provider decided to change the numbers of their ports several months ago...

  • Where are the diagnostic reports, or why aren't there any?

    Hello
I understand that under mavericks, diagnostic reports are supposed to be found either in
    /Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/ (System Diagnostic Reports),
    or in
    ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports (User Diagnostic Reports).
Unfortunately, even after a number of crashes, they aren't. While in my case, the system DiagnosticReports folder exists, but contains nothing but powerstats, in the user library, not even the folder is there.
So, either they are elsewhere, or they aren't being generated. In the first case, my question would be: Where are the diagnostic reports? In the latter, it would be: Why aren't there any (despite the system crashes)?
(A similar question is to be found here: https://discussions.apple.com/message/24773940#24773940 , but ended with an open question. I'm starting a new thread, because this old one is marked as answered.)

  • Where are the .folio-files on a local desktop?

    Hi,
I've created a publication in InDesign CS5.5 and built this in the folio builder to a complete local folio. Where are the .folio-files, I've composed, on my Mac? If I create an ebook, I'll save the document as an ePub-file and find this in the folder. But if I create an emagazine in InDesign, I guess there is a .folio-file. I can't find it. Could someone help?
    Yours sincerly,
    florian / eskalade werbeagentur

    Hi Florian,
A folio is not something that you would consider as a normal file that you create, transmit to some other place and read it (comparable to an ePub). The folio's are stored within the 'cloud' (on Adobe managed servers). To preview your content, you can look at the folio on devices (iPad, Kindle Fire, android) with the Adobe Content Viewer. To create a 'branded viewer' (application) you can use DPS Single Edition or a subscription to DPS Professional / Enterprise. These services are meant for the distribution of your content.
