I am on OS Version 10.10.1 (14B25). Whenever I click on the green dot in the upper left corner of an open window, the window expands to take up the entire Desktop. Even more bothersome, the window expands to the top of the frame, covering up the Finder menus.
I need those menus. I have found by experimentation that waving the cursor around in the upper-left corner of the display can bring the Finder menus back into view. But that is only temporary. As soon as I move the cursor back to the content of the window, I lose the Finder menus again. The only way I can get the Finder menus to remain visible is to close the window that I am working in. Doing so defeats the whole purpose in clicking the green dot.
Is there some preference somewhere that I can use to turn off this annoying new feature of Yosemite?Press esc key to get out of the full window
Alternatively
press option + green dot to resize a window to your needs
PS If you look closely right before you click on the green dot that it changes to reveal two arrows tips, pointing outwards, so it does what it says it is going to do, expand to maximum size.

Unless you mistakenly logged into his account then the most probable explanation is that he is using your ID. As for yours not showing up, have you enabled Find my phone on your device.
The best thing to do would be to change your password, this will stop him seeing any of your information. Of course this would cause a problem for him if he is using your account since he will get locked out of using his devices when you do this. It could be interesting, he may need to admit what he's been doing and ask you to release his devices so he can use them. -
I have connected a new Time Capsule to a DSL modem using an ethernet cable . The modem is working fine and connected fine. But the Time Capsule doesnt seem to be talking to the modem. If I click the internet Icon in Airport Utility it shows Disconnected.If I click the Time Capsule icon and go to the internet tab it shows Connect using PPPoE. Is that what it should be? In the box below there is place for an account name and password. DO I need to filll these out and if so what do I put there--information about the Time Capsule of informationabout the Modem? And where do I find the information.
Or am I completely on the wrong track.Thanks. The modem is a Speedtouch ST585 v6. How do I know whether it is in adsl bridge? Also this is a modem-***-router. Does that make a difference?
If you did not put it in bridge then it is not in bridge..
Connect a computer directly to the modem.. open the browser to either 192.168.1.254 or 10.0.0.138 (if neither of those work you will have to check the IP address your ISP has set).
BTW who is your ISP and do they allow PPPoE.. for instance most ISP in UK do not use pppoe so you have no choice but to run the 585 as a router. In which case bridge the TC
Anyway.. open the setup configuration in the Thomson and select a template that says bridge.. run through the wizard and it will then bridge the modem.
And I am using Airport Utility 6.0. How do I get the earlier version?
By reading the site link I just gave you.. downloading the utility and running it on your computer. Or simply google to 5.6 lion airport utility... that is the way I find things when I don't have the link memorised.
Finally, AIrport Utility shows a number in a red dot next to the time capsule icon, currently 2. What is that for? What does it tell us?
Firstly download the useful utility.. but the dots tell you something is wrong and preventing the TC from working.. if you open the utility it should tell you what the errors mean.. I cannot tell you what they are, but it is likely to be no internet connection and pppoe has failed. -

Backing up does not transfer your photos to your computer, if you don't want to enable photo stream, you will need to transfer your photos when your device is connected to your computer using iTunes. -

Connection, ResultSet, Statement etc.. all are the interfaces. But when i am writing the codes like,
Statement stmt= con.createStatement();
ResultSet rs= stmt.excuteQuery("select * from student_mst");
where con is the instance of Connection interface.
Therefore my question is that since all those(Connection,ResultSet,Statement) are interfaces then how the methods createStatement(),excuteQuery(String sql) are being executed where as those methods are only the declarations in those interfaces,nothing else.ok.......
So can u tell me in this case, actualy which class is
implenting the Statement interface such that

Go to Settings>General>Usage. How much space does it show you have?
If you connect your phone to your computer, what does iTunes say is on your phone? Do you see a large amount of "Other"? If so, you may have a corrupted database. You'll need to sync your phone then restore it as NEW (not from back up) then re-sync your data). -
I am trying to connect Garritan Personal Symphony to Logic Express and Garageband. A dialog box pops up and asks for plugin Garritan-P. Where do I find it and what do I do with it. I can't locate this plugin doing searches on any of the porgrams.

I am running 10.10.1 MacBook Pro (Retina,15-inch, Late 2013) w/ 2 GHz Intel Core i7, and can no longer find Software Update on my laptop. It is not in the menu under the Apple logo. It canot be found in the applications list through Preferences.

Storm PetrolThe Software Update item in the Apple menu has been REPLACED by the App Store. It is still present in the system if you go to About This Mac, where you will see "Software Update..." as one of the buttons in the Overview section of the information window that appears. The difference here is that the App Store menu option will only launch the App Store's main landing page, whereas the Software Update button will launch the store and then check for any system and other updates available.
