Where do I find toplink-ejb-jar.xml?

I've been trying to run the examples I downloaded with TopLink 10g as I'm trying to migrate to TopLink 10 for Weblogic 8.1 from TopLink 3.6 for Weblogic 6.1 and I can't find the toplink-ejb-jar.xml file that is referenced in the weblogic-ejb-jar.xml file in the <type-storage> tag. I have looked for it in all samples dir (weblogic 6.1, 7.0 and 8.1) with no luck.
Are they missing from the samples? I have looked at the Ant's build.xml file and it seems the file should be with all the rest of the .xml files conforming the "config" of the EJBs
I'm sorry if I'm missing something obvious but I'm stucked on this.
Thanks in advance.
Ignacio.

Founded it. In case someone face the same problem here is the "solution":
It is "copied and renamed" from the resources/WLS81CMP20SingleBeanTopLink.xml file

  • Does TopLink 10g generate toplink-ejb-jar.xml and weblogic-ejb-jar.xml?

    Also, does it have the ability to deploy an EJB JAR to an app server of choice?
    Thanks in advance.

    TopLink's Mapping Workbench will generate the toplink-ejb-jar.xml file for use in CMP and will augment the base ejb-jar.xml file.

    TopLink does not generate the container specific file for WebLogic. More details available at:
    http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B10464_04/web.904/b10313/pkg_depl.htm#1124592
    TopLink does not include any deployment capabilities. This is the roll of yor IDE or scripts.

  • Toplink-ejb-jar.xml config with weblogic-ejb-jar.xml

    Hello,
    To use toplink with EJB's deployed in Weblogic.
    I changed weblogic-ejb-jar.xml :
    (Because, it does not allow me to change <type-identifier> and <type-version> elements)
    <type-identifier>WebLogic_CMP_RDBMS</type-identifier>
    <type-version>7.0</type-version>
    <type-storage>META-INF/toplink-ejb-jar.xml</type-storage>
    Here, is the toplink-ejb-jar.xml:
    (Because, I am asked to give PUBLIC value for Weblogic 8.1.0....)
    <!DOCTYPE toplink-ejb-jar PUBLIC "-//BEA Systems, Inc.//DTD WebLogic 8.1.0 EJB RDBMS Persistence//EN" "file://D:/Toplink10g/toplink/config/dtds/toplink-wls-ejb-jar_10_0_3.dtd">
    <toplink-ejb-jar>
    <session>
    <name>myUniqueSession</name>
    <project-xml>META-INF/project.xml</project-xml>
    <login>
    <connection-pool>demoPool</connection-pool>
    </login>
    </session>
    </toplink-ejb-jar>
    1. I have also given full path to the "toplink-wls-ejb-jar_10_0_3.dtd", but I still get parsing error:
    "myBeans.jar": [EJB:011019]While reading META-INF/toplink-ejb-jar.xml, the persistence layer of the Entity EJB failed to deploy. The error was:
    "myBeans.jar": Error in descriptor line 5: Error parsing file at line: 5 column: 18. Element type "toplink-ejb-jar" must be declared..
    2. Also, How I can avoid the full path to the DTD???
    Thanks for your help in this regard!

    You are not properly configured to use TopLink with Weblogic. You need to place the TopLink_CMP_Descriptor.xml install file in your Weblogic lib/persistence directory. Add "TopLink_CMP_Descriptor.xml" to your persistence.install file and then update weblogic-ejb-jar.xml to reference the correct TopLink persistence type and versions, ie,
    <type-identifier>TopLink_CMP_2_0</type-identifier>
    <type-version>10</type-version>
    <type-storage>META-INF/toplink-ejb-jar.xml</type-storage>
    See the TopLink developer guide for more information and configuration details.

  • JDeveloper / OC4J rewriting my orion-ejb-jar.xml

    Hi All.
    Im having a play around with OC4J and CMP entity beans and struts at the moment learning some stuff for a new job, so ive started to write a little test app to get used to things.
    Ive created a CMP entity - CustomerEntityEJB, manually defined the tables etc wrote and built it using JDeveloper 10.
    Ive created all the necessary classes and descriptors in JDeveloper and the bean compiles and deploys fine, however no matter what i do, the table attribute of the <entity-deployment> elemnt is ALWAYS removed from the orion-ejb-jar.xml file before its deployed and i have no idea why.
    Here are some snippets form the xml config files im using....

    As you can see, the orion-ejb-jar.xml that been deployed on the server has had extra attributes defined in it (like concrete-bean-class) which makessense - its adding in the bits i didnt to get th bean to deploy - however the table attribue is just removed, meaning my bean cant find the table - hence my app not working.
    i just dont know how to stop this and would be extremely grateful if someone could give me a clue how to get my bean up and working properly as this is driving me insane.
    Thanks in advance..
    Gareth.

    sorted - the <persistence-manager name="toplink"/> element was automatically generated by JDeveloper and put in my orion-ejb-jar.xml appears to be un necessary and seemed to be breaking eveything - as soon as i removed it, the bean seemed to deploy ok and pick up the table name =]
    as a bit of an aside does anyone know why it was automatically put there in the first place if it breaks things?

    Hello,
    The warning message looks to be unrelated to the java.lang.IllegalArgumentException error. The warning states that optimistic locking cannot be migrated to the toplink-ejb-jar.xml file; this is stated in chapter 7 of the TopLink developer's guide at
    http://download-west.oracle.com/otn_hosted_doc/toplink/1013/MAIN/_pdf/b13593_v1_01.pdf
    The exception though seems to indicate that your orion-ejb-jar.xml contains EJBs mapped to the same table that are not related through EJB inheritance. I do it all the time with POJOs so this will work in TopLink, but you will need a support case to help get your project migrated if this is the case.

  • Ejb-jar.xml parse excpetion...

    Could someone please take a look at my ejb-jar.xml code and try to see the error in it?
    I am trying to load this jar into WebLogic 6.1 and when i try and deploy the bean i get the following exception:
    Unable to deploy EJB: RequestBean.jar from RequestBean.jar:
    The XML parser encountered an error in your deployment descriptor. Please ensure that your deployment descriptor corresponds to the format in the DTD. The error was:
    org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: The content of element type "ejb-jar" must match "(description?,display-name?,small-icon?,large-icon?,enterprise-beans,relationships?,assembly-descriptor?,ejb-client-jar?)".
    Here is the xml behind my ejb-jar.xml file:
    <!DOCTYPE ejb-jar PUBLIC '-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Enterprise JavaBeans 2.0//EN' 'http://java.sun.com/dtd/ejb-jar_2_0.dtd'>

        </session>
      </enterprise-beans>
    </ejb-jar>Thanks for your time,
    Nate

    I also get the following exception right below the exception posted in the first post:
    org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: The content of element type "ejb-jar" must match "(description?,display-name?,small-icon?,large-icon?,enterprise-beans,relationships?,assembly-descriptor?,ejb-client-jar?)".]
    File: ejb-jar.xml Line: 14 Column: 21
    The nice thing about this exception is it shows the row and column. However, I can't figure out where this is in the ejb-jar.xml file? Does the parser smoosh everthing together and count from there? Or does the parser count from my formatting?
    Thanks again for your time,
    Nathan

  • Finder-method in orion-ejb-jar.xml

    Hi,
    Is there a way to let jdeveloper 9.0.3 preview to automatically generate finder-method descriptors for us? When I was developing a cmp-based entity bean, although I defined the ejb-ql in ejb-jar.xml, JDeveloper still just generated the first orion-ejb-jar.xml shown below. In the first orion-ejb-jar.xml, there is no definition for any finder-method. I have to manually add my own definition to it, which is shown in the second orion-ejb-jar.xml. I know that the oc4j container will generate the finder-method after deployment, but in some situation it generated incorrect finder-method descriptors. One of such situation is the between query like "between ?1 and ?2". Anyway, if JDeveloper can generate the finder-method during development, then we can know whether the descriptor is correct or not before deployment, and we can make modifications before deploying it to oc4j server.

    Jingzhi -- If you define the correct EJB-QL you should get the correct SQL generated for the finder. If that's not happening can you verify it against the OC4J v903 production release and see if it is still happening. I don't know if this helps with the JDeveloper problem specifically but if you don't need to create your own finders then that I hope should help.

  • ejb-local-ref where to put this tag in ejb-jar.xml ??

    I have an ejb-jar.xml that looks like this. I have had no problem with remote interfaces. Now I want the bean to have a local interface too.

  • Vendor-ejb-jar.xml to orion-ejb-jar.xml, finder methods

    Hello
    I want to convert a inprise based EJB 1.1 application from inprise to OC4J. The inprise based finder methods are quite different from the syntax of orion-ejb-jar.xml, regarding the finder methods. Does anyone know if this can be done more easily. Using JDev 903_pre does not help much. I dont have access to JBuilder either. It seems I have to write all the finder methods once more and it takes days.
    Any hints ?
    Ana Maria

    OC4J does not require all finder methods in the orion-ejb-jar.xml and it automatically generates all simple finder methods. The easiest thing to do is deploy the EJBs into OC4J and it will generate the finder methods in the $OC4J_HOME/j2ee/home/application-deployment/<application-name>/ejb-jar-name/ directory and then you can modify these per your requirement and package with your EJBs.
    hope this helps
    thanks

  • Can't create a JAXB binding for ejb-jar.xml using xjc

    Hi all,
    I have been trying to build a JAXB binding for EJB deployment descriptors, mainly because I have to update a hand-cranked ejb-jar.xml file on the fly with some additions that have come from a code generator.
    I have tried to use
    xjc ejb-jar_2_1.xsd j2ee_1_4.xsd ejb-jar_2_1.xsd
    xjc on the schema definitions I found at http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee/ but I can't get it to work. It produces reams of errors, see below for a short extract.
    Of course, someone could put me out of my misery and tell me where to find a binding that someone else has done. I can't be the first chimp on the planet that has wanted to do this!
    Any help much appreciated.

  • Annotations to replace ejb-jar.xml?

    Hi gurus,
      Seems that the newest NWDS7.1 does not create ejb-jar.xml for EJB project. And I was told that currently all what we can do in ejb-jar.xml can be done with annotations right now. But where can I find available annotation list? Particularly I need the annotation to get environment entry from JNDI, which can be done using ejb-jar.xml before.
      Thanks in advance.
    B.R.

    Hi Lee,
    You can find all EJB annotations in the EJB 3.0 Simplified API spec and EJB 3.0 Persistence (JPA) spec.
    The NWDS also gives you tips as to the available annotations from the context menus of different nodes, e.g. in the Outline view, Java editor, etc.
    Last but not least, you can find pieces of annotation reference in the various subnodes of the [online help|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce10/helpdata/en/44/e9af22b9dc03fde10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm].
    Particularly, you should be using @Resource for injecting env entry.
    HTH!

  • Oc4j generated finders in orion-ejb-jar.xml file causing errors

    Any information or assistance would be greatly appreciated.
    I have encountered a problem with the generated orion-ejb-jar.xml file.
    It looks like the additional finder methods that are generated when the application
    is deployed are incorrect from the 9.0.3 version to the new 10.1.2.0.2 version.
    The original content of orion-ejb-jar.xml before additional finder syntax is added:
    <finder-method query=
    "NO_SYS_USER_OBJECT_HISTORY.USER_ID=UPPER($1) and

    I tried to manually edit the file but when I shutdown and restart oc4j it regenerates the file again.

  • Disable-warning statement in weblogic-ejb-jar.xml

    I'm having problems with the <disable-warning> statement in the weblogic-ejb-jar.xml file. I havn't been able to find documentation on exactly where the statment is supposed to be placed, as all sites just say to include the statement in your weblogic-ejb-jar.xml file. I found a working solution where I placed the statement after declaring all the weblogic-enterprise-bean and right before the closing </weblogic-ejb-jar> statment.
    Now the problem is that I have included a <transaction-isolation> block and weblogic complains about my disable warning statment.
    Does anyone know the proper location for the <disable-warning> statement?
    here is the format that was working before:
    </weblogic-enterprise-bean>
         <disable-warning>BEA-010054</disable-warning>
    </weblogic-ejb-jar> now I have:
    </weblogic-enterprise-bean>
       <transaction-isolation>
              <isolation-level>TRANSACTION_READ_COMMITTED</isolation-level>
              <method>
              </method>
       </transaction-isolation>
       <disable-warning>BEA-010054</disable-warning>
    </weblogic-ejb-jar>I have tried putting the disable warning before the transaction-isolation and after and weblogic complains about both.
    Any Ideas?
    Thanks for your time.

    I have tried putting the disable warning beforethe
    transaction-isolation and after and weblogic
    complains about both.
    Any Ideas?It would be a good idea to post the message weblogic
    is displaying. There are a couple of things you could
    check:
    * As per the documentation, the <disable-warning> tag
    was added in 8.1. Check if you are using the correct
    DTD for Weblogic 8.1 (and the version of Weblogic
    is 8.1 or higher
    * As per the DTD, the <disable-warning> comes after
    the <transaction-isolation>
    <!ELEMENT weblogic-ejb-jar (description?,
    weblogic-enterprise-bean*,
    security-role-assignment*,
    run-as-role-assignment*,
    security-permission?,
    transaction-isolation*,
    idempotent-methods?,
    enable-bean-class-redeploy?,
    disable-warning*)
    ke sure you maintain this order of elements within
    <weblogic-ejb-jar>
    Refer to
    http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs81/ejb/DDreference-ejb-j
    ar.htmlYep, it was pointing to an older dtd. Thank you!

    this ejb-jar.xml only contains entries for session beans? where did the entries for entity beans went?Ive written XDoclet tags for the Entity Bean as what ive posted above....help!!!

    you comment the generation of CMP entity beans out :
    build.xml:
    replace
    <!-- <entitycmp/> -->
    with
    <entitycmp/>i've already removed the comments of the tag <entitycmp> and yet the resulting ejb-jar.xml contains no <entity> tags....i'm just wondering how can i include the generation of entity tags (not only session tags) in the resulting ejb-jar.xml
