This is related to setting up Email, Printer etc. BUT I am getting Sequence not found error.

Please check the MANUAL installation, it is a "bug" that the database setup is not described in the windows/linus section. The corrected setup can be found here:

The file is found in (as described in the installation guide) under:

are not joined i.e. there is no join between these 2 tables.

The user is getting 'syntax error', it seems that the value is not getting compared with any column hence getting the error.
can case statment be used just next to 'WHERE' keyword in sql?

What the purpose of the case when statement here? I'm not seeing a condition in WHERE. You should use it in a condition like below
SELECT * FROM Customers
where case CustomerID
when 8 then 'Spock'
when 9 then 'Yedi'
else 'Jedi'
end = @SomeParameter

I have been tasked with making a complex package more generic.
To achieve this I need to pass a parameter to a SQL Component Task where the source SQL statement is also a variable.
So to help articulate my question further I have create a package and database as follows; -

I populated this table with a single record.
I unit tested the SQL within SSMS as follows;

Within the package I created two variables as follows; -

I then created a single ‘Execute SQL Task’ component within the control flow as follows; -
However when I run the above package I get the following error; -

Therefore the answer was to put the parameter number rather than the parameter name under the parameter mapping tab-> parameter name column.

Where to run SQL statements in Oracle Database 11gR1 ?

Folks,
Hello. I have just installed Oracle Database 11gR1 and login to Database Control page. There are 4 tabs on the top: Database, Setup, Preference, Help and Logout.
I just create a table "table1" in "Database" tap. But I don't see anywhere to run SQL statement such as Select, Insert, Update.
Can any folk tell me where to run SQL statements in Oracle Database 11gR1 ?
Or
Can any folk provide a User Manual for Oracle DB 11gR1 ?

FIM Reporting installation (where to put SQL Reporting Services?)

I'm installing FIM 2010 R2 SP1 with Reporting feature.
It is going to be installation with separate SQL and separate servers for SCSM DW and SCSM MS.
I have SQL where I prepared 3 instances (default one for FIM databases, one for SCSM SM databases, one for SCSM DW databases). My question is - which one of them should have SQL Reporting services installed?

When using SCSM 2012 (SP1) you also have to install the analytic services on the instances. I can't remember exactly if it was on the DW or MS, but it would tell you during the installation of it.
And make sure your FIM version is at leat 4.1.3451, I went through a lot of pain with version 4.1.3419 en the
KB256143 error.

Where is the sql file store in & Where can I find php.ini on Mac osx client

In windows xp i can find the sql file in side the folder of MySQL and I can find php.ini in the C directory under the php's folder but in mac os Icannot find it could anyone tell me where it is and how can I find thanks.

It looks to me like you haven't gained root access in the examples above. If you follow Niel's example:
<pre class="command">sudo sh</pre>you should get a different prompt when you actually are the root user:
<pre class="command">sh-2.05b#</pre>because you'd be changing shells from bash to sh.

You should be able to do anything to those files without changing permissions if you're the root user.
But, just for your information, I never directly move the database files. If I want to move a database between computers, I always use the mysqldump command and redirect it to a file:
<pre class="command">/usr/local/mysql/bin/mysqldump --add-drop-table -u username -p db_name > /path/to/output/file.sql</pre>That makes a single text file with all the SQL commands necessary to build your database tables and populate them with your data. If you want to restrict it to just one table from a database, you can add the table name after the db_name:
<pre class="command">/usr/local/mysql/bin/mysqldump --add-drop-table -u username -p db_name table_name > /path/to/output/file.sql</pre>To import that file into another machine, you have to create the database first, which you could do with phpAdmin. Then, just import the tables and data like this:
<pre class="command">/usr/local/mysql/bin/mysql -u root -p db_name < /path/to/output/file.sql</pre>That'll create all your tables and populate them with your data.
If you copy your databases this way, you're much less likely to run into trouble with compatibility issues if you're moving between machines with different versions of MySQL.

There is video demonstration how to import from data dictionary.
After import you can select from the main menu: View->DDL File Editor menu item to open the DDL dialog and then click on "Generate" button on the dialog. When the DDL is generated you can search in it using "Find" button.

Why is the following not working as source for an updateable report ?

The htmldb_item API package allows you to display column values in a report as HTML form fields. You have a choice of different types of form fields. In your example for instance you get a select list by using the function select_list_from_lov. But by simply placing form fields in an HTML page, you don't specify that those fields are actually supposed to update data in a database. You need an after submit process that is actually performing the update.
You can implement this type of process manually using your own PL/SQL code. Or you can have HTML DB do this for you. If for example you were using the tabular form wizard, you would get an updateable report, including the update process and even including checksum functionality to make sure that you don't overwrite another person's changes (lost update detection).
If you use the wizard, the report form items use the build-in display types. This means you don't have to do your own calls to htmldb_item as part of your query. It is generally advisable to use the build-in types as they are easier to work with and are only rendered for the rows actually shown as opposed to be rendered for the entire result set.
If you do choose to use htmldb_item, you'll have to code your own PL/SQL code to perform the updates and you should also include some logic for lost update detection. The HTML DB documentation provides information on how to manually process data from tabular forms.

Conditional where, or PL/SQL block as source for an interactive report?

I have this situation: The main screen of my application shows a list of documents. For now, there has to be a quick "security" built in, so administrators can see all documents, but other users can only see the documents they created (login of creator is stored in the documents table). In the future we'll probably use VPD's to enforce some rules, but for now we need a quick solution.
So i stored the administrators in a seperate table. Now i want the interactive report on the main page act as follows:
- If an admin is logged in, it has to have this query: select field 1, field 2, field 3 from documents
- For all other users: select field 1, field 2, field 3 from documents where creator = :app_user
Is this possible in one interactive report? I could make two reports with the different queries and make them conditional according to who is logged in, but this gives me two interactive reports to maintain. Is it possible to use a PL/SQL block as source for the report? I tried, but I get syntax errors. Is it possible to make the where clause conditional on some way?

may be asked many times but could not find a thread,
I have 8 parameters,... and user can select any of these parameters they can select 3,4 or all 8.
I know we could use dynamic sql for this, because the sql is same.. just the where clause changes as how many parameters we are selecting,
i am using sql server 2012.. is there a easy way to manage this,

Where to running SQL Scripts after install of ODAC for Oracle Client?

I just installed ODAC for Oracle Client on a windows server, that runs a sql server database, for developers to connect a web app to an Oracle/Unix database. The install states to run SQL scripts located in the $ORACLE_HOME\ASP.NET\SQL directory after the install. I'm not sure where to run them? On the ORACLE DB on the Unix server? If someone could bring me up to speed I would appreciate it. Thanks.

If I do run the scripts, do you know what user they should be run as? The developer are using ASP.NET for connectivity.

I'm not sure exactly what you are asking. If you are looking for the source code (USER_SOURCE, ALL_SOURCE, DBA_SOURCE). If you are looking for the last compile date/time (USER_OBJECTS, ALL_OBJECTS, DBA_OBJECTS).
