Where Is /weblogic/lib/weblogic_sp.jar in WLS 6.1.0.0
As per WLS 6.1 documentation,The following must be included as values to the -classpath
option on the java command line:
/weblogic/lib/weblogic_sp.jar
http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs61/adminguide/startstop.html#1038523
I couldn't find weblogic_sp.jar in $WEBLOGIC_HOME/lib directory. Am i missing
some thing ? or documentation is incorrect.
Thanks
Hi,
when you install 6.1 GA, you only have weblogic.jar file under lib/
directory, later when you install service pack for 6.1 you will have
weblogic_sp.jar, which is the for any service pack. You do not need to
worry.
Thanks

Where to place the third party jars on WLS 7.0SP2
Our application use the thirdparty JDBC driver, for example, the JDBC driver for
mySQL. I donot want my customer to modify startWeblogic.cmd or some file else
to make the jar file available for the applicaiton.
my question is if some directory exists under weblogic700/server where I can place
the jar file(that is, like the installed extension of JDK or JRE).
I try to place the jar file on server/ext, it does not work.

GuofengDisclaimer: I am a newcomer to the world of BEA WLS,
so try this at your own risk.
For the 3rd party classes to be found, they have to be included somewhere
in the CLASSPATH. The best place (IMO) for customisation of the CLASSPATH
is in the extEnv.sh. You will not find it in a standard installation of
WLS, but if you look in $WL_HOME/server/bin/startWLS.sh you will see this:
PATH=".${PATHSEP}${WL_HOME}/server/bin${PATHSEP}${JAVA_HOME}/jre/bin${PATHSE
P}${JAVA_HOME}/bin${PATHSEP}${PATH}"
# Import extended environment
if [ -f extEnv.sh ]; then
. extEnv.sh
fi
Note the inclusion of "." at the start of PATH. This is magic that enables
the ". extEnv.sh" command to locate the "extEnv.sh" script.
In "extEnv.sh" you can use the EXT_PRE_CLASSPATH, EXT_POST_CLASSPATH,
EXT_PRE_PATH, EXT_POST_PATH and LD_LIBRARY_PATH to add additional classes
and directories to the server environment.
For additional information, refer to the WebLogic Server Administration
Guide (http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs70/adminguide/startstop.html).
Similar, if you look in $WL_HOME/server/bin/setWLSEnv.sh you will see this:
PATH="${WL_HOME}/server/bin${PATHSEP}${JAVA_HOME}/jre/bin${PATHSEP}${JAVA_HO
ME}/bin${PATHSEP}${PATH}"
export PATH
# Import extended environment
if [ -f extEnv.sh ]; then
. extEnv.sh
fi
Note the missing "." in the PATH. This effectively means that even if
the "extEnv.sh" script exists in the current directory, then ". extEnv.sh"
command will only look along the PATH for the "extEnv.sh" script! To me,
that looks like an error (probably caused by a DOS-programmer used to
the default behavior in DOS to always look in the current directory
regardless of the setting PATH), so as part of my localised installation
procedure, I replace the offending part of setWLSEnv.sh with:
# Import extended environment
if [ -f extEnv.sh ]; then
. ./extEnv.sh
fi
which forces the "." command to read the "extEnv.sh" file in the current
directory, regardless of the setting of the PATH variable. I have
notified BEA of this, but their responses is that it is per design!

Where is weblogic_sp.jar in wls6.1sp2??
I download wls6.1sp2,but.
After I install it in win2000,in lib directory weblogic_sp.jar isn't exist!!
why??

regdsHi,
I think the service pack is actually contained in the weblogic.jar file,
so there's no need for a weblogic_sp.jar. The reference to
weblogic_sp.jar in the start script is probably there for old time's
sake :-)

Where is weblogicaux.jar in WLS 6.0
Anyone know what happened to weblogicaux.jar in WLS 6.0?

Hello Rob.
I've just checked the size of weblogic.jar which is actually 14Mo.
If a client application want to get a reference to an EJB, it must use JNDI,
which use weblogic classes.
It's quite clear that it's impossible for a client (an applet for example)
to download the full weblogic.jar (14Mo), is it ? So it would be nice to
have a light weight weblogic.jar that we could make available to the client.
My question is : can bea gives us a set of classes that a client need to use
Weblogic services ??

Can not find weblogic_sp.jar file after installed weblogic
I just installed weblogic server (using weblogic610sp2_win.exe file) on my windows
2000 pro box. Everything looks fine but I can not find the < weblogic_sp.jar >
file. I noticed some guys met same problem but no answer.
can you help me ?Hi.
Don't worry about it.
The reference to weblogic_sp.jar is a leftover from previous methods for updating
service packs. Nowadays when you install a service pack it is integrated into the
weblogic.jar file. If you have any doubts about your server version after installing
or applying a service pack you should check the server version via the console
(Servers|<server name>|Monitoring|Versions). Your version string should look
something like: "WebLogic Server 6.1 SP2 12/18/2001 11:13:46 #154529"

What is directory where I can put in jar file without specify classpath ?
hi,
Is there any directory in weblogic similar to the directory of WEB-INF/lib/ where I can throw a jar file in without specify classpath explicitly.
The reason I'm looking for such directory is :
-- I do not want to specify classpath explicitly
-- I'd like it outside of an application so that it stay even if the application redeployed.
ThanksHi Aacc,
The domain library directory that you are looking for is usually $DOMAIN_DIR/lib, for example "C:\Oracle\WLS_Middleware10.3.4\user_projects\domains\test_domain_1\lib" (Windows) or "/u01/weblogic/domains/my_domain/lib" (Linux/Unix).
The jars located in this directory will be picked up and added dynamically to the end of the server classpath at server startup. The jars will be ordered lexically in the classpath. The domain library directory is one mechanism that can be used for adding application libraries to the server classpath.
You can override the $DOMAIN_DIR/lib directory using the -Dweblogic.ext.dirs system property during startup. This property specifies a list of directories to pick up jars from and dynamically append to the end of the server classpath using java.io.File.pathSeparator as the delimiter between path entries.

Question about weblogic-cmp-rdbms-jar.xml
WinNT 4.0 SP6, Weblogic 5.10
In the online documents, it says:
---- digest from the online documents ----
The following example finds all the EJBs in a table. It uses the
sample finder method signature:
public Enumeration findAllAccounts()
throws FinderException, RemoteException
The sample <finder> stanza uses an empty WLQL string:
<finder>
<method-name>findAllAccounts</method-name>
<finder-query></finder-query>
</finder>
---- End of digest ----
However I implement it in my sample EJB, call findAllAccounts in the
client JSP file, get a SQLException about "null after where".
How can i solve this problem?
Thanks in advance,

DaljitAre you trying to make an EJB 1.1 CMP bean or an EJB 2.0 CMP bean.
It looks like you have an EJB 1.1 ejb-jar.xml, but have requested an EJB 2.0 cmp descriptor.
Take a look at examples/ejb/basic/containerManaged and ejb20/basic/containerManaged for the 2 examples.

Why weblogic-cmp-rdbms-jar.xml.old gets created in Weblogic 7?
Hi all,
I use the build.bat file for creating the jar file
build.bat
==========
mkdir build build\META-INF
copy *.xml build\META-INF
@REM Compile EJB classes into the build directory (jar preparation)
javac -d build *.java
@REM Make a EJB jar file, including XML deployment descriptors
cd build
jar cv0f std_ejb_accountcmp.jar META-INF ejb
cd ..
@REM Run EJBC on jar file
java -classpath %WL_HOME%/lib/weblogic.jar weblogic.ejbc -convertDDs -verbose -keepgenerated -compiler javac build\std_ejb_accountcmp.jar d:\ejb_accountcmp.jar
=============================================================
Any ideas why when u unjar the jar file created for deployment in Weblogic 7.0, it creates an old copy of the xml files used
For example :
weblogic-ejb-jar.xml has weblogic-ejb-jar.xml.old
ejb-jar.xml has ejb-jar.xml.old
Why does it replace the weblogic-cmp-rdbms-jar.xml to weblogic-cmp-rdbms-jar.xml.old?
Rgds,
SeeteshHi Indra,
Thanks for ur post.
I have now renamed the weblogic-cmp-rdbms-jar.xml to weblogic-cmp20-rdbms-jar.xml and made the changes in the weblogic-ejb-jar.xml file in the type-storage parameter.
Now after executing the foll cmd
java ..... weblogic.ejbc old.jar new.jar
The new.jar file contains the generated stub/skeleton along with the additional old files for the 2 xml's ejb-jar.xml and weblogic-ejb-jar.xml.
Using the Weblogic builder utility, while opening the new.jar file, it discards the old xml deployment descriptors and creates new ones in its place.
Cld u give me some hints on using the Deployment tool? I use it to deploy the new.jar file.
Rgds,

It is a bug for the EJB container to respond with an NPE.
(It's been fixed in v9 Beta, and it might be fixed in an 8.1 service pack but I can't recall off the top of my head). At any rate, I'm pretty sure that an EJB QL query with an empty WHERE clause will cause this. I would look for a query that ends in ' WHERE'.
