Which event indicates a web-browser login window?

Hi,
I'm trying to access a data source via URLRequest. It works
with basic authentication and everything is fine when the
authentication data is correct. But as soon as the login data is
incorrect the browser shows a custom login window where the user is
able to provide the correct data. I want to suppress this behaviour
and handle these false inputs in my application. I've read the API
but couldn't find the right event which I need to register.
Does anybody know how to solve this issue or which event I
need to listen to?
Bye,
Tino

Hi,
I use Flex 3 SDK with AS 3 for the flex AIR application. The
web application I want to access is based on RubyOnRails.

  • End-user closes the Web browser's window...

    Hi ,
    I have an Exit_Form selection on a menu.....
    Is it possible the code being there to be executed whenever the end-user closes the web-browser's window.....???
    I use Dev10g.
    Thanks , a lot
    Simon

    Unfortunately... is is not applicable....because:
    1) Many users(application users) connect via a db user to the database.... , so i cannot relate each application user to a db session.
    2) The trigger on_logoff can not be used because of the first note....
    3) As i have written in my previous post the "exit_form" is not 'pure PL/SQL' code but 'forms' code.... It contains some 'erase(global_variables)' which are unknown to the db......
    Thanks , anyway...

  • AirPort Extreme on a Network Requiring Web Browser Login

    I was looking into purchasing one of the new AirPort Extreme routers to use in my dorm. My school requires you to log in to its network through a web browser the first time you connect before you can gain any network or internet access. After you log in once your MAC address is stored and you are given an IP and allowed to access the network. My current Linksys wired router passes this page through to connected clients without a problem, but I tried using an older graphite AirPort base and it would not pass the page through and my MacBook Pro was unable to connect to the college network through it. My question is will the new AirPort Extremes pass this login page through and allow my Macbook Pro to login to the network through Safari?

    That would make sense on most networks as you want the school's main router to only "see" one device, the router in your room. Then you can have your router assign IP addresses to as many devices as you want and the school's router still only "sees" one device.
    If you configure your router as a bridge, then the school's router will be assigning IP addresses to each device connected to the router, probably not what you want.
    The default mode for the AirPort Extreme is to act as a router. It will assign IP addresses in the 10.0.x.x range by default, but you can set it to assign IP's in the 192.168.x.x range if you prefer. You will probably get a Double NAT notice when you hook the router up. Click "ignore" and the message will go away.
    I use an AirPort Express quite a bit for travel. If the hotel has an ethernet port, I can plug in and hook up 2-3 wireless devices and pay for only one connection.
    Nothing is ever certain. If you go with the AirPort Extreme, might be a good idea to check the store's return policy...just in case.

  • How can i make all the newly opened tabs have the same web adderess as the one with which i open my web browser?

    I have google as my home page. However i want Firefox to be my homepage and also the same should happen when I open any new tab in my browser so that I need not to write the web address again and again.
    Also i want to remove the upper region of the screen which has different icons for babylon, youtube, facebook, etc...
    Provide me the solution to get the basic firefox as my homepage without any extra complicated features as prevalent now...Reply soon.

    See:

    You can middle-click or hold down Ctrl and left-click the Home button on the Navigation toolbar to open the Home page in a new tab.
    You can look at this extension to set which page to open in a new tab:

  • Browser login window instead of OTN Sign-In page?

    First click on the Sign-In link on OTN Forums on an iPhone this morning produced a browser username/password dialog. Cancelled this as it isn't normal and it said password would be sent in clear text. Second attempt brought up the normal OTN Sign-in page and I was able to sign-in successfully.
    Now tried to sign-in on a PC running IE6 and it is always producing the browser username/password dialog. Window title says Connect to forums.oracle.com. Only other text is forums55.
    Problem?
    (Not about to commit my password to anything that's purpose isn't better identified and clearly secure.)

    "Upgraded" meaning in this case that - when you log on through that pop-up - SSO between the different Oracle sites doesn't work anymore (OTN, metalink,mix etc.). Almost like a M$ upgrade ;-)

  • Which (Text|Terminal)-based Web Browser to use?

    So after seeing phrakture's post about w3m + w3mimgdisplay? or something like that, I was wondering what terminal browsers people preferred and why.

    I used elinks for a while because it renders html decently.  Then I realized "it's a text mode browser, I want it to render how it looks best in text", and that seems to be w3m.
    What I like most about w3m is the sane navigation.  elinks key navigation used to piss me off.  Sure, you could change it, but that's alot to change.
    w3m seems to have more "sane defaults" - it's the same reason I like weechat over irssi.
    That said, the w3mimgdisplay thing just furthers the "OMG" factor of w3m.
    It *does* work within screen too, but not over ssh (yet?).  The only problem is that w3m images are positioned with absolute values, and it can't interpret where screen splits are at, so renders on top of other crap.

    I'm having a similar issue.
    Did a fresh install of 11.2.0.1.0 under Windows 2003 - latest updates - IE 8.
    I can access Enterprise Manager from other computers - but not from the local server.
    I've tried both: https://oracle.xxxx.xxx:1158/em and https://localhost:1158/em
    Both give me the generic "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" - but if I access from another computer it comes up - so I know everything is working...

  • Encrypted Alert (21) - Windows 7 client web page login falure

    Hello community,
    I have a challenge for you.  This is a very odd issue I am having.
    Let me outline my basic environment. I have a Windows 2003 Server which serves as the DHCP with a (2-day lease), Windows 7 Clients (fully patched) running IE 11 (fully patched), and a SonicWALL NSA 2400 firewall running the latest firmware 5.8.17xx (SSL
    controls are not enabled).
    Symptoms: From the Win7 client I open a specific secure web page https:// and after I enter my user name and password I get a server side message “cannot connect to our authentication server”.
    I called the web site support and they said the message will display if the client trying to connect to the remote server for authentication does not use port 4000.
    I can try to login over and over again but I always get the same message.
    I can see by using the NETSTAT command that port 4000 is being opened on the client but the connection always fails.
    After running WireShark I discovered that just after the [Login] button is clicked the SSL3.1/TLSv1.2 TCP session is started with the Client and Server saying their respective Hello’s, key exchanges, and cipher change but just after that I get a transmission,
    from the server side, of “Encryption Alert” (21) and then a [FIN] packet which closes the session.
     This is when the “cannot connect to our authentication server” message pops since the session has a fatal error decrypting the packet.
    After hours of trial and error, plus reading online, I found I have the option to peer inside these encrypted packets to maybe see more information about the problem with the “bad” packet.
    I’m not sure what key to use to put into the SSL preferences in WireShark.
      I have tried many things to find a workaround and have found only one way that works consistently.
     I have about 10 clients that login each day and the problem in intermittent.
    Normally 1 or 2 clients will have the problem each day; it’s a crap shoot that it will happen to anyone.
    Well, at least I have not found a pattern yet if there is one.
    Temporary Fix: After the client web page login fails, I can run the following commands.
    I run the first command to set a static IP and then login to the web site and it suddenly works.
     I then log out of the web site and I run the second command to get the client back to a dynamic IP.
    I login to the web page again the login works.  After a random number of days go by the problem comes back and I have to run this temporary fix again.
    (1)
    netsh int ip set address "Local Area Connection" static {ip address} {ip mask} {default gw}
    netsh int ip set address "Local Area Connection" dns {ip address}
    (2)
     netsh int ip set address "Local Area Connection" dhcp
    Just renewing the IP address from DHCP will not do the trick; I have to set it static first.
    Any ideas on what may be happening during the Static IP setting that would fix this?
    I know that Microsoft just recently patched the SCHANNEL file(s) in November.
    I started seeing this issue on December 15th.
    I’m currently assuming that there is a defective packet because according to MSDN and RFC tables the “Encrypted Alert” 21 code means
    decryption_failed – “Decryption of a TLSCiphertext record is decrypted in an invalid way: either it was not an even multiple of the block length or its padding values, when checked, were not correct. This message is always fatal.”
    I really appreciate and insight any may have on how this process works and what may be happening.
    - Dr. Dig

    MeipoXu,
    Thanks for the reply and fantastic link to that detail.  I am seeing events on many workstations, and not just the ones with this problem.  The event ID is 36887 and the message is “The following fatal alert was received: 40”.  I did some
    research on this error and it appears that it is related to the MS kb-2992611 patch.  Apparently the patch, which we did deploy back in December, has caused a number of schannel problems, while trying to fix some.  Our issue started on 12/15/14.
    There's an article on ZDnet (search for "Microsoft Warns of problems with Schannel security update") where it explains what is happening since the patch.
    I have done two things to fix it, without removing the MS-patch.
    The one manual fix I mentioned in my first post and I can also uncheck the 3.0 SSL/1.2 TLS in my IE browser.
    In fact I went back to SSL 2.0 / TLS 1.0 and have not had any problems for 6 days now.
    I am going to set a PC back to the “problem” settings to confirm 1.2 TLS is my problem. I’ll report back my findings for others.
    The one thing to note is that we login to multiple secure sites and only one has the issue.
    I suspect the other side has done, or not done, something to make the issue happen with my settings.

  • Close Web Browser Window Button.

    Is there a way to create a button that users can click to close the web browser window?  Is it possible to do it through javascript embeded on the button action?
    Thank you.

    Hi Eric
    As I said earlier. Play with JavaScript all you like. Good luck in finding a JavaScript method that will work 100% of the time. I've very doubtful you will.
    The simplest test of JavaScript is the Alert, which you have tried. Often testing JavaScript will fail when testing locally. Sometimes it's because the Flash Security is blocking things. To fix that, click here and follow the instructions.
    As for the slide, it all depends on your Captivate settings. If you want it blanked you can insert an image or something that would cover the background. Nav bar is another story. Probably just have to live with it that way or turn it off if you don't wish to see it. Or maybe insert a caption or image that indicates the movie has finished and to please close the window (since it didn't close automatically).
    Cheers... Rick

  • Visual Studio 2013. Viewing a PDF file via the Web Browser control in Windows 8.1

    I am writing a Windows Forms application in which I need to view PDF files via the Web Browser control. When the control is given the Navigate() command, Windows takes over and asks which program I want to open the file with. All was fine with VS 2010 and
    XP. I have un-installed "PDF Complete", which was the default PDF viewer, but I now get asked for an alternative.
    Thanks in advance.
    Mike Saunders

    Hi Mike,
    It seems that we could use Internet Explorer to open a local .PDF file if it has the Adobe Reader. I doubt that the web control would be related to it. Like the MVP's suggset in the following thread, maybe it would be related
    to certain plug-in tools in your side like the adober reader.

  • Issues showing PDF files in web-browser (Windows 7 x64, 32-bit version of AdobeReader X)

    I'm not sure if this is the right way to share my experience, but at least I know Google will discover this thread eventually and maybe someone else will find what I have been looking for the past 3 hours
    I'm deploying the 32-bit based AdobeReader X (http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4950) to Windows7 32-bit and 64-bit based machines. This is a MSI deployement done through our Active Directory. Everything goes well - no errors. Except for the x64-based machines having trouble showing PDF-files in the web-browser.
    I used Adobe Customization Wizard X to customize our MSI installation - this showed out to be the solution once again.
    Common for the installation on Windows7 32-/64-bit were that the value in the registry database for HKCR\Software\Adobe\Acrobat\Exe (Default) was set to "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe". This is valid for the 32-bit installation as Program Files is situated in C:\Program Files, but since it's a 32-bit edition of AdobeReader that I'm installing on the 64-bit based system as well, it's installed in C:\Program Files (x86) and the reference in the registry database to "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe" is therefore not valid - which explains why PDF files could not be displayed in the web browser. Changing the registry to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe" solved it. Now this is a manual solution which might be useful on 1-2 machines but on a bigger scale it's not the right way to do it.
    I could change it with a batch/vbs script but still this is only a solution of the symptom and not a solution to the core issue. I therefore focused on Adobe Customization Wizard X again.
    The problem was easily solved. I opened the MSI file, loaded the transform file that I've made previously. Went to Registry > HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Software\Adobe\Acrobat\Exe . I then changed the (Default) value from "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe" to "[INSTALLDIR]Reader\AcroRd32.exe", generated the MST file and replaced my current one for distribution. Problem solved! :-) The entry in the registry now shows : "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe" and PDF files are open without any issues.
    I hope someone can save a bit of time on this one.
    Best regards!
    Alex Mikkelsen

    I was able install and view the files in adobe reader 10.1.1 and in web browser window 7 64 bit machine.  But when I go to Edit-preferences-internet and  unchecking "display PDF in Browser" , I am not able to view the pdf files in ie 9 browser.  I have used this javscript to check for pdf version.
    Immediately after installing adobe--
    when I do adobe test in ie 9---https://courses.worldcampus.psu.edu/public/diagnostics/Acrobat.html--  launches a test pdf file--Acro_Test.pdf
    After unchecking-- it stays in the  https://courses.worldcampus.psu.edu/public/diagnostics/Acrobat.html instead of showing test pdf file--Acro_Test.pdf
    Tried to go back to "display PDF in Browser"--it is showing it is checked(eventhough I did not check it)
    and in ie
    it stays in the https://courses.worldcampus.psu.edu/public/diagnostics/Acrobat.html instead of showing test pdf file--Acro_Test.pdf

  • How I make the Web Browser Control to display a PDF in Windows 8

    I have an application that run ok in previous version of windows,  Where I can load a PDF file and the web browser control automatically use the Reader OCX of Adobe,, After Install windows 8 and download the reader for windows 8 still get and (X) where the document should be displayed.  I use the following command in my program to force the windows 8 to use the same web browser (10) in my web browser control.
    WebBrowser1.Navigate(DocumentName,"",Nothing,"User-Agent:Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; MSIE 10.0; Windows NT 6.2; WOW64; Trident/6.0)")
    But still get an  (X). IF I use the URL that is in the property of the (X) and paste in my regular IE10, it open the PDF file.

    Adobe Reader Touch is a Windows Store app and does not install a browser add-on/plug-in for "in-browser" PDF viewing.
    You can either
    Install Adobe Reader XI (desktop app) which installs browser plug-ins for Microsoft IE and Mozilla Firefox
    Use Google Chrome, which has a built-in PDF viewer (enabled by default)

    what i required to open it in a new window of the web browser
    so please suggest me the way to do it....
    Thanks
    vivek
    .

    you can open browsers new window using jdic...
    unfortunately Desktop.browse() doesnt allow to do that, but we can do that another way:
            String urlToOpen = "http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5236723";
            BrowserService browserService = (BrowserService) ServiceManager.getService(ServiceManager.BROWSER_SERVICE);
            try {
                // exactly "_blank" allow to open necessary url in a new window :)
                browserService.show(new URL(urlToOpen), "_blank");
            } catch (LaunchFailedException e) {
                e.printStackTrace();
            } catch (MalformedURLException e) {
                e.printStackTrace();
            }
