Which page items get included in URL on doSubmit()?

This is totally perplexing me.
I have a page with 5 page items in a tabular region. All of them are set to hidden/protected.
The page is loaded with one of those page items specified in the URL.
If I use the button to delete one or more rows on the from, or click on the "Add New Row" button, the page is submitted, and comes back with three of those five page items specified in the URL.
First question: why only 3 and not all 5? Why THESE three? I can't see any differences between one of the page items that does display in the submitted URL vs. one that doesn't.
Second question: I changed one of those page items to display conditionally. If a certain condition is not met, the field is never output to the page. However, EVEN THEN when I submit the page using one of the buttons above, the field is included in the submitted URL! Should that even be happening? That actually strikes me as a security risk, unless there's something I'm doing wrong.
I can probably create a test page on apex.oracle.com if necessary. (It's on apex.oraclecorp.com right now, but moving it will take some time since I'll have to strip out some sensitive data.) But I'm hoping this is just some easy-to-explain concept I'm just not grasping.

1) check the branch. the branch defines what is passed to the next page.
2) yes, this is correct behaviour. condition is for rendering, but the branch is fixed.

Getting page item to resolve in URL

I have a page item which gets the IP of the sending computer. I then need to put this page item into a URL, but for some reason cannot get it to resolve. So I have a button that is set to redirect to:
http://&p2_id/cgi-bin/labelprinter.py?barcode=&P2_BARCODE.
Everything resolves fine except for P2_ID. Do I need to escape something? TIA

Here's one option: create a JavaScript function which will "create" URL for you. In order to do that, create a hidden text item (let's call it P2_URL).
(I hope I don't have typos in here!)

Populate the URL for popupURL from a Table/Page Item?

Dear all,
Would someone please tell me if the URL to run a BIP report can be populated from a table/page item when using popupURL and if so, how?
Background:
I have a Table called TBL_LETTERS with a varchar2 column REPORT_URL
I have a Page (Pg 303) which populates a Text Page Item (P303_REPORT_URL) with an appropriate URL string from the table.
Here is my problem:
I would like to replace my working javascript function (see below):

popupURL('&BI_URL.Guest/DEV/TEST/FRM_40/MM_40/MM_40.xdo?_xpf=&_xpt=1&P_CASE_ID=&P303_CASE_ID.&P_PERSON_ID=&P303_PERSON_ID.&_xt=MM_40_xf=rtf');

...but this doesn't work.
With my limited javascript knowledge I can only guess that the variables successfully assigned values in my first function example are not successful in my second, I am probably just passing the whole thing as a simple string (like this: +&BI_URL.Guest/DEV/TEST/FRM_40/MM_40/MM_40.xdo?_xpf=&_xpt=1&P_CASE_ID=&P303_CASE_ID.&P_PERSON_ID=&P303_PERSON_ID.&_xt=MM_40_xf=rtf+), but would very much welcome any advice.
Do I need to
a. Create the REPORT_URL string differently in the table so that when passed to the Page Item it includes the required variable data?
b. Something completely different?
c. Forget it, it's not possible!
ps. I am using Apex 3.2.1

when I look at the parameter in de popupURL function I notice that you use substitution variables &P303_CASE_ID. and &P303_PERSON_ID.
The value for these variables are filled in by Apex on page rendering.
If you use this same URL in your column REPORT_URL Apex will not fill in the values for these substitution variables.
Yes, this is exactly what is happening.
I would suggest you use option A to build your URL with the desired values.
If the values for &P303_CASE_ID. and &P303_PERSON_ID. are in the same table TBL_LETTERS you could use them to make a pseudo column for the URL string.
&P303_CASE_ID. and &P303_PERSON_ID. are not in the same table. How would it be possible to build the string (to store in the table) so that when it is run javascript identifies the variables?
I have tried building the string in various ways using syntax similar to below but nothing is working:

[JS CS3] disappearing page items

Now this is strange: I've written a script that does some imposition of a an image on a single sheet (page) and puts some special printers marks along the side. Now there's (as far as i am aware of) one instance where all the page items get placed on the page, but when you save, close and reopen the document, half of them are gone!
When you drag the page items before saving they disappear right from under your cursor! I've tried putting a lot of save commands during the script, hoping that that would nail those items down, but with no luck.
Has anybody had a similar experience and found a solution?

I created a form and when I submit, it goes through but there is no "success" or "failure" message on Apex. I tried debugging it and got this message:
"Page contains page items/buttons which are not assigned to a region!"
I looked at the page definition and it seems like everything is assigned to a region. Much appreciate your help.

For your message, the relevant branch needs "include process success message" to be checked - and a value in success/failure in your process.
Check the submitting & landing page for items not in a region. Under the items section there may be items listed separate to those under specific regions.
It's possible these are related, but not guaranteed.

Sql item - get url from page

You can put your javascript code in an HTML portlet, but I prefer to put a page under htdocs, it's much easier to develop, and then use an url item that displays the url directly in the page.
About the code :

That's really simple to use, you just have to change the name of your proc and its parameters, and you'll get what it "htp.prints". Be sure to grant exec to public on you proc.
By the way, I've just imagined an even more simple solution :
- do not pass any param to your procedure. Let it just write always the same code whatever the page it is on
- identify each entry of your menu with a javascript id, for instance
<table>

<tr><td id="url2">page 2</td></tr>
etc...
Then use a small javascript code at the end of your page with something lie this :
document.getElementById(document.location.href).style = a different color
or
document.getElementById(document.location.href).innerHTML = something different

Question about "Get Web Drawing URL and Page Name From" for Visio Web Access

I am trying to get both the web drawing URL and the page name from a list through Share Point Designer 2013, but it doesn´t work.
It looks fine when a do the web part connection wizard. I select from which columns to get the URL and the page name. But on the final web part page nothing happens. It just shows the URL that is selected in the Visio Web Access Web part. I had hoped that
that value should be overrided by the SPD-settings.

I have now saved the Visio-file in .vdw-format, but it says Visio 2010 Web Drawing (*.vdw). Is there a .vdw-format for 2013? Isn´t that the .vsdx-format?
Still doesn´t work with the .vdw-format, but maybe I am doing something wrong.

How to get notified when ever I select any frame (any page item) ?

I have added a observer class in my plugin which derives from ActiveSelectionObserver.
But my observer constructor is not getting called when i select a page item. (In short, I am not getting notified about the selection)

Because there is a chance that the user might remember the url of a certain page and copy paste that one in the browser... in such type of scenarios also home page should come first
After i implemented Adf security in the redirect upon successful login i took the home.jspx page... but it is not going to home.jspx when i run some 'x' page and give the credentials for authentication.
This for our project they dont want to implement at taskflow level for each and every taskflow... is there any higher level where we can implement such feature because home page is common for all.

You can implement a selection suite for your need, this selection suite will be placed into the kLayoutSuiteBoss.
In this selection suite place a method to give you the UIDRef of the selected pageitem, which you can get by using the method "GetUIDList" of the "ILayoutTarget" interface.

Pass value through URL without setting local page item

Folks,
I have a table where I have created a dummy column with a hyperlink on it to go to another page in the application which runs a report passing through columns on the table
As I am doing this several times (for different pages in my application) - Is there a way of passing a variable through a URL to a report without setting a local variable
i.e.
Click Here
Here I am assigning a local variable on Page 25 which is hidden called P25_TEST1
What I would like to do is pass the value straight to page 25 (which runs the report) without the need to create hidden items on the report pages all the while

i have a button where i configure a Redirect to URL option... and use : javascript:html_PopUp('http://yahoo.com', '_newwindow');
That is pretty clear, and it works. I also have a defined page item which does contain a valid URL
For example :P4_OFFICE_WEB_PAGE_LINK_V:='http://google.com'
I want the pop up to use a stored value, not the hardcoded one at the top... I have tried all of these, but none seem to work :

How can I get the page where a page item is localized?

Hi I move some page items to the next spread using kMoveToSpreadCmdBoss. This works fine. But when I want to get the page uid where the page item is localized now (I use Utils<ILayoutUtils>()->GetOwnerPageUID to do that) I get the uid of the spread and not the uid of the page where the page item is localized. - What is wrong? - What can I do to get the page uid? How can I make the URL change to show which page of flash I'm on?

Hey, this is a bit confusing to explain, but say I have a
flash site, just one swf file embedded in an html file. So you go
to www.mysite.com/index.html, and you see the main page.
In the flash site you have a button that just goes to a
different frame in the movie, aka a different page. Thing is, the
URL still shows index.html. This isn't a big problem, and is
technically 100% correct, but what if you want people to be able to
type www.mysite.com/gallery.html to access the gallery of your
site?
The only way I could imagine this working, is gallery.html
would just be a redirection site, which would go to index.html with
some arguments to go to the gallery frame of the site. or people
could go to www.mysite.com/index.html?=gallery (I dont know how
those setups work, is it PHP?)
The main reason I don't just have many html pages with
different swfs embedded in them is because then when you click a
link, you see a quick flash as the browser loads gallery.html
I am just wondering what the best setup is so all of your
pages are seamless together, no flashes on page switches or
anything, but while keeping differentiable URLs.
My current site uses transparent iframes so that the page
switch isn't noticable
