Which technology to use with ADF BC to ensure LUW

Hi all.
I'm working for a client and together we developing app in jDev using ADF BC and ADF Faces. App will be deployed as standalone on WLS. We need to reuse some methods from application module to outside world (another java app running on Websphere). We also need to ensure logical unit of work meaning one transaction working with two phase commit.
After a lot of reading i came up with a solution using EJB along with ADF BC. Problem is that client wants only EJB 3.0 but jDev supports only 2.1. I spoke with Frank and he said that moving or supporting EJB 3.0 isn't gonna be soon (probably never).
So i am looking for an alternative technology too use that supports RMII protocol like EJB does, so i can reuse code from application module.
Any suggestions are welcome.

Hi Frank.
How can i then reuse code that i have written in application module. We have a couple of houndred tables that are build with ADF BC. I think it's not fancy to rewrite whole code just to use EJB 3.0 in a seperate project.
Maybe there is a a way too create some kind of wrapper for EJB 3.0 to work along with ADF BC.

  • Using Java for scripting in games - which technology to use?

Hi, I'm currently in the process of implementing a java scripting implementation for a 3D game engine. Any suggestions on which java technology to use? It will handle high level game specific logic and a gui. So there will be a native implementation of awt created as well. I'm starting off with win32 and will port to mac and linux later.
I'm thinking J2ME-CDC, but then theres CDLC, the personal edition, and so on. CDC and CDLC are nice since the jvm code is included but the CDC one needs to be ported to win32 (anyone already do this?)

J2ME is designed for small consumer devices such as mobile phones, pda, pagers, set-top boxes and so on.
You'r designing something for windows, mac and linux so I'd suggest standard edition rather than micro edition.
I'm confused as to what you want to do though.
Also, "porting" a java program shouldn't really be an issue (unless you've used lots of JNI or Runtime stuff).
Basically though I don't really understand what you want to do, I did have some idea, but then you started talking about Micro Edition.

  • Javascript and html menu to be used with ADF/JSF using JDeveloper

I have a menu for a webpage that was originally built using html and javascript. I need to convert it to be used with JSF and ADF. In the html, the menu items used an unordered list inside of a div tag.
    It looks something like this:
    <!--<div id="shademenu" class="shadetabs">
    <ul>
    <li>Item1</li>
    <li>Item2</li>
    <li>Item3</li>
    <li>Item4</li>
    <li>Item5</li>
    <li>Item 6</li>
    </ul>
    </div> -->
    AND
the submenu(s) have links that look something like:
    <!--<div id="dropmenu0" class="dropmenudiv">
    Data
    Data
    Data
    </div>-->
It is unclear to me how to work with my javascript menu to get the same look and feel with JSF or ADF as I did with html. Any insights would be great. Thanks.

    Hello,
If you do not find any existing JSF component (in ADF Faces/Trinidad, or any other JSF library) you can for sure extend/create your own component with specific renderer that will be the HTML/Javscript that you want.
So here some interesting pointers about the subject:
    - Buildin Custom JSF component (Chris Schalk)
    - Build Custom JSF Components) (Jonas Jacobi
    - Extending Default Render (and lot of other JavaEE blueprints)
These links will give you a starting point.

  • Which iMac for use with Photoshop CS5 and Lightroom

Any opinions on which iMac is best for use with Photoshop CS5 and Lightroom. Not sure if the 2.7 i5 with 512 graphics card is Plenty of power or if upgrading to the 3.1 i5 or 3.4 i7 is a wiser choice given the price differences. Appreciate the help

So I was reading over your post, and even though this is older and has to do with CS5, I have some information for CS6 that will be relevant to your question now that it is time to upgade the software. In general Photoshop has always been more about RAM than Processing power, though that is important too. Until CS5 it could never quite take advantage of what multi-core processors really had to offer, and even the graphics card didn't really effect much of it outside of certain features and the 3D optio
Now that is no longer true and Adobe can effeciently use all aspects of the computer to give you much better performance.
So much so that I was able to buy a brand New ASUS with the following specs:
    Dual Core 2.2GHz Processors
8GB of RAM (4GB original to the machine)
Windows 7 Home Premium 64Bit OS
    320GB HDD w/ 5400RPM
This machine not only runs photoshop CS6 and Launches in less than 5 Seconds... it can run Premier and After Effects as well, and this Laptop cost me less than $400 (on sale at Best Buy 2 Weeks Ago. You don't have to buy something this cheap, but isn't it great that you can and still run Master Collection effectively?

  • Which mouse to use with the Y2P?

I have a Microsoft Optical mouse model 3902c693. I can't get it to work with my Y2P. I installed the windows 8 driver from the Microsoft website and it still doesn't work. Anyone know why? And which mouse would you recommend that works with the Y2P?
    Here is the mouse:

I've been using an older verison of the Logitech MX wireless notebook mouse for years. Here's the closest current version (looks a little bit larger than mine):
    http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Wireless-Anywhere-Mouse-Mac/dp/B0082D5660
I always avoid BlueTooth mice, since in my optinion BT is wholly inappropriate for a mouse. The need to establish a bidiectional encrypted communications channel means that you spend too much time with the computer and mouse saying "What?" back and forth at each other.
The more traditional wireless mice like mine simply broadcast all motion whether the receiver is there or not, so there's no connection to establish meaning they always work instantly every time. Yes, it uses up a USB port, but the receivers are pretty tiny and you can generally put them in and forget about them.

You should be able to achieve this in Motion. The technique for this is slow and painstakingly laborious however the results are fantastic it is called rotoscoping. Do a Google / Youtube hunt for detail. Basically it will involve a mask and loads of keyframes.

  • Which Technologies to use??

I am building a project which requires a connection of Android App(Application Client) to a Java EE Server using Wifi. How can this connection be established and Which Java EE6 technologies(such as EJB,Servelets etc.) I need to learn to implement this??
I am new to Java EE

You need an integration solution and some of your options are RMI, JMS, webservices and websockets. The languages you are integrating are similar but not identical so I would use webservices. Websockets are probably better but there are not enough stable EE implementations yet (maybe next servlet spec will add them).
What do you mean by "The application client will be local access for the Server"? Are they running off the same virtual machine?

  • Which cable to use with macbook air

I need to do an extensive download.  Right now I'm on our wirless network here at the house.  I need to use a hardwire connection to our modem to decrease download time.  Which cable do I need to connect to the modem?  BTW we are on Comcast.

You need an ethernet cable, however, the MacBook Air does not have an ethernet port so you will need a USB to ethernet adapter or a Thunderbolt to ethernet adapter.

  • Which Display To Use with mac mini?

Is it possible to use an iMac Desktop computer as a display for a mac mini?
Does anyone have the range of different monitors that can be used as a display for the mac mini?
Both answers are crucial to buying a mac mini.
    iMac   Mac OS X (10.4.5)   600 MHz Power PC G 3 512 MB SDRAM

Not directly. You can of course connect to the mini using remote desktop (included with Mac OS - enable it on the Services tab of Security preference pane) and a free VNC client.
It is not fast and snappy like a directly attached monitor - so you will want to use it ocassionally to make remote changes - not day in and day out display.
Best to get a display that supports DVI input (or HDMI) and meets your budget. Here are the specs... (it will drive VGA as well - but it's no longer a digital signal and generally less nice)
DVI video output to support digital resolutions up to 1920 by 1200 pixels; supports 20-inch Apple Cinema Display and 23-inch Apple Cinema HD Display; supports coherent digital displays up to 154MHz; supports noncoherent digital displays up to 135MHz

  • Which camera to use with FCP

Im new to HD cams but very familiar with FCP. Im looking into purchasing either the Sony V1U or the Panasonic HVX 200. Most of my shooting is done overseas on 2 week long shoots. What im trying to figure out is what you guys have found best for hard disk recording when using FCP or if there are any differences?
This forum has helped me alot in the past. Thanks for all the help guys

Panasonic is now selling Focus FireStore drives that record the P2 format to disk instead of expensive flash memory. The Focus drives used to be a nightmare in post, but with the P2 metadata and FCP6 doing Log & Transfer the clips no longer come in as FAT32 fragments just a few minutes long (they are stitched together at ingest). Get a FS-100-160 or two and bring a MacBook along with FCP6 to ingest to common FireWire drives each day to free up the FireStores. If you figured on spending a few grand on P2 cards you can get a lot more GB for your dollars with the FireStore drives.

  • Which RCU to use with WLS_10.3.5

I am having issues with the Middle-Tier Discoverer service on my WLS, I'm thinking of re-installing my WebLogic Server. However I think one of the problems with the Discoverer may be that the wrong RCU was used to create my schemas for the Forms, Reports, and Discoverer services on my WebLogic Server.
My question is what version of RCU should I be using for WLS 10.3.5?
Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hi
Weblogic Version has nothing to do with the RCU Version. RCU is related to SOA Suite middleware that is on top of WLS. RCU Version should match exactly with the SOA Suite version. Like if SOA/BPM Suite is 11.5, then RCU should be 11.5. The link is between SOA Suite version and WLS Version. Like SOA 11.5 will work only on WLS 10.3.5.
I understand you have Forms, Reports but the above logic should still apply. So check the version of Forms, Reports that you have and apply the same version of RCU. Most probably, the verion should match with WLS version except that WLS has 10.3.x where as SOA has 11.x, where x=6 or 5 or 4 etc.
Infact for SOA/BPM even the JDeveloper IDE should be exactly the same version. So in the end say for SOA 11.5 it will be like this:
    WLS 10.3.5 -> SOA Suite 11.5, RCU 11.5 -> JDeveloper IDE 11.5
    Thanks

  • Do you have an up to date list of recommended graphics cards which should be used with CS 5.5 design premium.

My current graphics card is a NVIDIA GTX 650Ti  which is giving up the ghost.  i have been asked what card I need to replace it, but I cant find an up-to-date list of recommended graphics cards.  My IT department suggest the NVIDIA GTX 750TI OC as the previous one is no longer available.

Completely irrelevant. The only program that uses GPU acceleration in Design Premium CS5.5 is Photoshop, anyway. Any contemporary card should more than suffice.

  • Which technology to use for xaml/jaxx but for j2ee?

Hi, I wasn't sure where I could post this question. If you think this question should be replaced to another part of the forum, please do so.
I'm trying to find out how I can do jaxx, not using it in swing, but using it in a j2ee web environment.
Does anyone has an idea what kind of framework I can use where the programmer only has to specify the types of controls there are (textbox, radiobutton,...) and this in a XML kinda structure?

Have you thought of XSL maybe?
