Who wants to be a moderator for LiveDocs 2.0?

As some of you may have heard, we’re doing something
quite a bit different this cycle with documentation. The changes
can be summarized as community, community, and community:
- inclusion of links to external websites (like yours!) in
Help
- inclusion of external websites in search results, through
the Google Custom Search Engine (CSE) service
- inclusion of non-Adobe personnel in the group of folks with
the ability to moderate LiveDocs comments and submissions to the
CSE
The moderation tasks primarily consist of clicking Accept or
Reject for incoming comments and suggesting good resources for the
database of web addresses that can be searched using the Custom
Search Engine. These tasks shouldn’t take more than an hour
per week.
Why, then, are we asking for help if the job is so small? We
think that y’all are likely to know about resources that we
internal Adobe folks don’t. This is especially the case
regarding resources in languages other than English and Japanese.
Also, by extending the power to suggest content to non-Adobe folks,
we think that we prove the truth of the statement that we’re
willing to put non-Adobe resources on equal footing with our
own---at least with regard to search.

  • Looking for software that allows you to make "who wants to be a millionaire".  Must be able to put in your own questions and HAS to be for the Mac.  Help!

    I am a teacher who would love to create the game "who wants to be a millionaire" with my own questions.  I would use this for test reviews.  I can't not find something for the mac.  It is out there for the PC, but my class room is mac based.  I can't use anything that will allow me to run the mac in windows, either.  Anyone know of a software that will allow me to input my own questions?  Thank you very much for your time and consideration.

    this is for people who wants to mirror all they apple devices when they travel and don't want to unplug everything from the apple tv and take it with them, you can get the amazon fire tv stick and download an app called airplay upnp or the reflector app and mirror all of your apple devices to it, it is great for traveling easy to setup and move around, for example if your traveling and want to use it in the conference room and then want to take with you back to the hotel for the night and plug it in and keep on doing that routine.

    The Verizon DVR is admittedly not the sharpest box on the market. I admit to giving up on the multi-room DVR product, it just never worked satisfactorily for me.
    Hopefully features/functions issues  will improve in the near term with the Cisco/Scientific Atlanta box that obviously isn't going to make Q1. I admit I have ceased  holding my breath. Something does have to happen fairly soon because 160gb drives are literally going out of production.
    You do however make two statements that incorrect. Current TiVO's only need 1 cable card, since the standard cable card today in Verizon's stock  is the M-Card. You also have the option with TiVO of paying either an annual fee, or a one time fee, both of which are lower in the long term than the month to month fee. Alternatively you can by the Moxi DVR, and it includes lifetime service in the purchase price.
    While in theory a truck roll costs $79, in practice if it is for a Cable Card install, it is free (I think  FCC regulations preclude the charge).
    Apparently there is nothing in Verizon's order processing system that tells reps that there is no charge for Cable Card installations, so they often quote the $79 fee because that is the standard charge for technician to come out. As far as I can tell (and there have been lots of posts about cable card installs), no one has in fact been charged the $79 fee..

    Nothing.  The 2nd Gen Touch is OBSOLETE and is WAY past its support life.  If you want to run the newer apps you have to buy a newer iPod.

  • A SOLUTION for those who want to organise their TV SHOWS properly!

    Hi folks;
    I posted this in "Using iTunes for Windows" as well.
    Finally found a simple, and yes, EASY way to get your self-burned TV shows (from your DVD collection) into iTunes WITH the proper info(ie: season, show, title, description, network, etc...)
    A simple program called "TV TAGGER".
    Basically, it's a GUI for Atomic Parsley so you don't have to learn another language to do this stuff. It's got all the spaces for you to fill in the show info you want.
    It only works for TV SHOWS though...
    Here's the link:

    Basically, all you have to do is open TVTagger, go to 'file' and open all the episodes for the show you want to classify and fill in the blanks for each episode. Once you're done, either hit 'apply' under 'tab' OR, (to make it faster), hit 'apply all' under 'file'. It will make a new copy of the TV Show in the same folder as the original with a slightly different title (adds some stuff). Delete the original and you've got TV Shows with the proper tags.
    Then open iTunes, remove all the TV Shows from it (NOT deleting the original files) and re-open the TV Shows. This time, the shows will be classified in the TV SHOWS tab and will show the season and all that jazz.
    I know, it sounds bigger than I meant it to, but it's really easy...

I don't want to have to check off an additional 5 or 6 attributes each time I print out contact information. Is there a way to change the default setting for printing lists, so it is not just "phone," "photo," and "job title?"

    I have a user who wants to do this same thing. I did not find any way either to default the attributes to anything other than what you see the first time. Seems like such a trivial thing, hard to believe they do not allow it. I did find a program for this called iDress but I can't seem to download it from any links on the Internet. Not sure if it is free or not, but it was recommended by a link on the Mac support site.

  • Who in Creative has ultimate responsibility for customer suppo

    Thank you to the moderators for getting Creative to act on my problem. Unfortunately though Creative have continued to 'stuff up'.
    I have tried to escalate the problem but support continually refuse to provide contact details.
    Below are extracts from my correspondence with Creative since I last posted. Note: I have excluded Creative's replies for privacy reasons.

    Thank you for replying to my email. When I spoke to Alvin on the phone he promised to send me an updated warranty form and asked that I address any future problems through him. It is well over 50 days since he telephoned me and to date I have still not received a copy of the updated warranty form as promised. I initially advised him of this latest faulty unit, however since he has not replied to either of my emails I unfortunately have to bother you.
    I have packaged the unit as requested and it is ready for your courier to collect.
    How do you want me to communicate with the courier so I can be sure there is someone home to give him the parcel?
    In regard to your statement?
    ?As mentioned previously, the service charge you had paid is use (sic) to cover the CUSTOM TAX that has already (been) imposed on the replacement unit. It is not for purchasing a new 2 months warranty.
    Your comment is at odds with Creative Australia who believe they charged me $55 for a second warranty. The $55 invoice I received from them clearly stated the item I was paying for was a ?Warranty that is wording of the item that was actually printed on the invoice ? there was no mention of Customs Duty or anything similar ? the invoice simply said I was ?purchasing a warranty for $55. ? so lets finally agree on that. So as you can see irrespecti've of what they may have led us to believe, they actually charged me for a second warranty, not customs duty.

    I have never heard such spin. I certainly do not think for one minute that Creative have done me any favours. I do not consider a saga involving 56 emails, unanswered requests for contact details, two faulty units, multiple promises not met and being fed misleading information as being a sign of ?goodwill?.
    These comments are not directed at you personally (removed) as I know you are forced to ?spin the company line?.
    I await your instructions as to how you want to arrange for the collection of the unit.

    Unfortunately I am not able to give him proof of my warranty as I am still waiting to receive it from Alvin (it is now over 60 days since he promised to send it to me.)
    On a positi've note just to let you know I have appreciated your help through this saga and have posted the following compliment in the Creative forums?
    ?Whilst I have been let down numerous times by Creative, credit where credit is due, and I would like to acknowledge the help I have received from (removed) at customer support. Sometimes you can tell he has been forced to 'push the company line' but has always passed on requests to other departments.

    My second faulty Creative Zen Micro was collected by Toll Ipec on Friday st September 2006 to be taken to Creative for replacement.
    It is now Monday 6th October, 46 days later and I have not received a replacement unit, nor any correspondence to explain the delay.
    Would you please:
    (a) Advise when I will receive the replacement unit
    (b) Take note that I expect Creative to add the 46 days to my warranty period which will now expire on August 2007 plus one day for every day until I receive the replacement unit. If this is not acceptable please provide me with the name of the Australian manager so I can take the matter further.
    (c) Provide me a copy of the updated Warranty form as you promised over 00 days ago.
    In correspondence #62 (removed) stated ?I had notified our Australian Service Center regarding the following matter and they will be processing your replacement as normal.
    Please advise what Creative classifies as a ?normal time for replacement?. Should your reply be greater than 46 days I will understand my expectation was too great and wait accordingly.

    do a search on malware and/or anti-virus and/or phising....  you will find some quality information regarding
    the topic in general.  (please make an informed decision to ease your concern)
    I use clamxav (from the app store) and occassionally use (sophos) but its kind of confusing with out knowing why
    there is a product called intego which is good too
