Why are subscribed calendars so hard to deal with???

I use-
iCal on my imac.
calendar app on my iphone
MobileMe Calendar (beta).
I don't have any complicated google calendar subscriptions, or Exchange calendars or anything like that.
I have 2 simple iCal calendars that I subscribe to.
And for some reason that has to be a big production??
In iCal they work fine.
In Mobile me they just don't work at all- the beta doesn't support subscribed calendars yet. fine.
And on my iPhone, they're a mess.
They appear in the calendar list (albeit with the wrong colors, and I can't edit the colors)
but the actual events on the calendar don't show up in my calendar.
Then the birthday calendar- what the heck is going on with that?
Again, works fine in ical.
Even works in mobileme.
But on my phone its listed twice, and I have to turn one off?
I don't understand why it can't be consistent... why is this so complicated???
I just want the calendar on my phone to match the calendar on my desktop.
Same colors, and with the events actually showing up and syncing. I don't care if I can't edit the subscribed calendar, I just want to be able to SEE it.

Sorry, but your post is to me contradictory. First you say you want to remove movies, then you say you want to add them. Then you complain that you have to convert movies before you add them to iTunes. So I'm at a loss to understand what it is you are really trying to accomplish. Please post back and explain clearly what it is you are trying to do and where you are running into difficulty.. Leave out the invective and it will be easier for us to understand.
As to iTunes being "fussy", the formats iTunes and the iPad can support are pretty clearly stated in Apple's information. No application, on any platform, supports all content formats, so if you want to use a format iTunes doesn't support, then of course you have to use some other software to convert it first. That's just simple logic.

Use the trackpad to scroll, thats what it was designed for. The scroll bars automatically disappear when not being used and will appear if you scroll up or down using the trackpad.
This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps.

Why are certain videos that I have taken with my iPhone not supported by Aperture? That's weird. I expect that since both iPhone and Aperture are Apple products, file support should be seamless between the two.
Also, iPhone 4 does not appear as Camera Model in the metadata of the unsupported video file in Aperture . But other videos I have taken with the same iPhone 4 appear in Aperture and the Camera Model appears correctly. Why is that?

Have you done some cleaning and cleared caches on your Mac? Maybe the com.apple.xpchelper.cache file is missing. Check the folder /System/Library/Caches/

Does it have something to do with the MFI certification? Is micro USB just cheaper?
I don't want to have to carry around another cable and it seems like this would be a good product. What am I missing?

This is a user-to-user technical support forum. There is no one here from Apple to answer "why". Again, I would recommend contacting the manufacturers or use the Contact Us link at the bottom right of every page for information on how to contact Apple directly.
I suspect that manufacturers may view the more standard microUSB charging port as a selling point. Those types of cables are cheaper and ubiquitous.

Why are my calendars changing colors?

This has been happening occasionally over the past 6 months: the various calendars I have created in Calendar suddenly change colors from what I set. I can go in and reset them, but the reset doesn't stick; the next time I open Calendar, the calendar events have changed to bizarre colors again. Then in a week or two, as suddenly as it started, the color changes stop and all is normal again.
This does NOT affect my iCloud-synced iPhone or iPad calendars - their colors are what I originally intended. I am running the latest version of Mountain Lion, 10.8.5.

I just had the same problem. I went to the iCloud to change the colors back, but they would automatically change back.
Here's what I did:
1. Take your calendars offline in iCal
2. Export the calendars that change color to the desktop
3. Delete the calendars from both the iCloud and iCal
4. Create new calenders in iCal making them the color you want
5. Import the calendars from the desktop int your new calenders
6. Put your Calendars back online to sync with iCloud

Why are my calendar events not "merging"?

I set up Icloud on my Mac and turned Icloud on on my new Iphone 4s.
I added some calender events on my Macbook Pro and none of them are going to my calendar on my Iphone.
How do I get this to work right?
I just realized that when I added an event on my Iphone last night, it did get sent to my calendar on my MBP, but it does not seem to be working the other way around.
Any thoughts?

I need to clarify a couple things in regard to my OP.
First. I just noticed that when I look at the "calendars" menu in Ical on my Mac, it only lists 3 of my 9 calendars under "Icloud'.
I also noticed on my Iphone, when I click "calendars", it only lists the same 3.
Also, I just created an event on my Iphone, it showed up on my Ical on my MBP, then I changed the calendar type on my MPB from "Home" to "Practice" (those are two calendars I use) and when I did that, it disapeared from my Iphone.
So I think one issue here is that my Iphone/Icloud is only recognizing certain calendars and merging them as opposed to all calendars, so how do I get all the calendars to Icloud?
Also, I think I still have an issue with going from MBP calendar to Iphone calendar, as I mentioned in OP.

XmlDataProvider .... is gone completely in my Xaml file. Why? How many different ways to deal with xml data source through WPF

I followed a procedure described in a book.
1. insert "Inventory.xml" file to a project "WpfXmlDataBinding" .
2. add the XML data source through the data panel of "blend for 2013", named it "InventoryXmlDataStore" and store it in the current document.
3. dragged and droppped the nodes from the Data panel onto the artboard.
Then I checked my Xaml file against the one provided by the book

It's quite common for smart developers to think they're not as good as they are.
I coach a fair bit and it's a surprisingly common feeling.
And to repeat.
Never use anything ends .. provider. They're for trivial demo apps. Transform xml into objects and use them. Write it back as xml. Preferably, use a database.
You want to read a little mvvm theory first.

Why are my calendar events showing up one day early on my ipad

Many of the all-day calendar entries in Outlook 2007 show up a day earlier on my iPad, but are fine on my iPhone. What gives? Any way to solve this?

You can use same ID on both devices. It's common.
If you don't want to see contacts on both, just disable it under settings - mail,contacts, calendars - select your account, disable contacts

Why are random calendar events being deleted from my iphone when I sync it with ical?

My settings are such that events entered on both devices should push to both devices when I sync. The events being deleted from my iphone are not consistent (ie. older than a certain date), they are random.

This happens to me INCESSANTLY. I'm looking at my calendar events one second, and POOF!, the next second all of the events I've entered into the calendar- with the exception of birthdays that are on the actual contact information for a person- are GONE. My calendar settings are set to sync all events- no timeframe- and always have been. This happened to me nonstop on my old iPhone 3GS, and I was sure it was the phone causing this issue. Now, I have my new iPhone 5 in my hands and same ol' , different equipment. I have done EVERYTHING I can think of to prevent this from happening or to restore the data- including rebooting, holding home button and on/off at same time, etc.- and NOTHING works to restore the data. And then, just as magically as the data disappeared, POOF!- the data is back randomly sometime later. That "later" may be 5 mins, a day, several days. This is an absurd and EXASPERATING glitch that APPLE NEEDS TO FIX IMMEDIATELY!!! I'm starting to hate the iPhone and Apple in general when I continuously experience HUGE glitches like this that have a profound impact on what you're trying to accomplish within a feature that you DEPEND on... yet Apple has "never heard of that problem before". You suck, Apple. Don't send your problems out into the real world, to users who just gave you $800 for another glitchy piece of equipment that never solves your software issues.
