Why can't I run the applet in jdev2.0?

sir:
After I installed the jdev2.0 beta,I create a applet through
wizard,but when I run the applet ,I always occured such error:
"createprocess failed for appletviewer windows nt error #5" ,and
I run the applet in the IE4.0,get the other error:"applet can't
instantialed",why ,please help me!
null

This problem has already been encountered by others.
So, I will simply paste the answer.
Windows NT error #5 is ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED. I'd suggest you look
at who ownership and protection of the exes and dlls in your
installation of jdeveloper.
You saved my life!
I have no idea, what happened with my NT setup, I did a normal
setup, there is only one user for the NT, with admin rights.
Anyhow, I'm not an NT expert and it seemed to be quite
difficult to find the offending files with wrong permissions.
So I took the lazy solution, selected JDev home directory and
changed the permission of all files and all subdirectories to
"full control for Everyone". That cured the error.gang lee (guest) wrote:

    If you haven't, try updating through iTunes while connected to your syncing PC.

  • Why can't I make the applet work?

    I have developed an applet to capture the video stream from a Logitech (usb) camera and display it in the applet. This is a clone of another program that captures a network camera video stream and does the same thing.
    I am using JBuilder 2005 and when I run the applet in the JBuilder applet viewer, it works fine, but not when I attempt to run it in the browser.
    In the network camera application, I was able to overcome this by signing the jar file and it would run in the browser.
    In the Logitech application signing the jar file does not work. I get the mesage that asks me if I want to accept the certificate, but it still does not initialize the camera.
    Since I can use it in the Applet Viewer, I have to assume that all the connections are set up OK.
    But the application fails when trying to get the capture device in:
    di = CaptureDeviceManager.getDevice(str2);
    I put the startup code in a thread and perform several iterations with a slight delay, suspecting that there may be a timing issue, but that was not the problem.
    This code also works in a stand-alone application version.
    The only thing I can think of is that there is some other connection or security issue that I am not addressing.
    Since signing the jar file works with network video streams, I have to think that there is something different between USB and network video streams, but I have no clue as to what it might be.
    Anyone have any suggestions?

    from the JMF readme file
    Security Note
    During the installation, you will be asked two security related questions:
    * Permit recording from an applet
    If you agree to this, JMF will allow applets to capture audio and video from the local capture devices. It is possible for a malicious hidden applet on a web page to quietly record sounds or video from your system and transmit the data back to a system on the internet. This is usually a risk only if you visit unfamiliar web sites.
    You can disable or enable this feature by running the JMFRegistry application (or choose Preferences from the JMStudio File menu), modify the setting in the User Settings tab and commit the changes.
    * Permit writing local files from an applet
    This is a greater security risk since a malicious applet can overwrite files on your hard disk without your knowledge. Enable this feature only if you need it for a specific application and are sure that you will not visit any possibly malicious web sites.
    You can disable or enable this feature by running the JMFRegistry application (or choose Preferences from the JMStudio File menu), modify the setting in the User Settings tab and commit the changes.

  • Why can't I run my applet in the browser

    I see my code executing in the appletviewer but, I cannot see the text in the onscreen space when I run in the browser.
    Can somebody help?

    I am also having trouble as well. It worked fine on
    one computer, but on my home computer and another
    school computer it didn't work even though I didn't
    really vary the installation of Java 2. I just
    installed what my text book gave me and I think that
    is the newest version. Does the browsers have anything
    to do. The computer I am running now is in IE 6 but I
    will check the other one. if you want to look at the
    source and the java file.

    thanksthis should really have been posted in a new thread but anyway good thing you posted the link.
    i downloaded the class the source and your file but it didn't work on my machine. i recompiled the file and it worked fine. i think something went wrong when you compiled or when you posted your file on the webserver. make sure you are ftping in binary mode the class file.
    what are version are you compiling with?

  • Why can't I run the latest Java on Firefox to operate my network camera? It does not find Java. Please Help!!

    I just installed a network camera in my home correctly and signed in to view what was on the camera. But after logging in , info comes up with" cannot find Java" with an install button. I have the latest update of Java and the Firefox browser. There is no red block in the search bar that asks me to allow the site to use Java nor does it ask me to allow the site. I did uncheck the box in the control panel as it tells me to do in Java so that it asks me to use Java. Nothing works. I am so tired of installing and uninstalling, clearing my cache. Opening and closing my browser and reading info to fix this. I just want to be able to view what my camera films. Nothing on the firefox site answers or solves my problem. And believe me I've tried til my head is spinning. Someone has to have an answer. I need a vacation after this...Lol...
    Thanks...

    The Java plugin doesn't show in the System Details List.
    Is 32 bit Java installed on your computer?
    You can find the latest Java version on the Oracle website.<br />
    See Java Platform > Java SE 7U45 (JRE Download)

    You need the 32 bit JRE for Firefox.

    My iPad 1 can only be updated to iOS 5 yet most apps run on iOS 7. Why can't I make the update on my iPad 1? Is this so I buy another iPad 2+? Now why would I want to buy something that will be obsolete in a few years?  I really want to purchase an Live TV plan yet I need iOS 7 to run most TV apps.
    Can Apple tell me why my iPad 1 is obsolete?
    g

    It's not obsolete as much as the first gen simply lacks the power to run the newer operating systems. IT doesn't have enough RAM. If someone managed to hack it to get iOS 6 or 7 on there they'd just have a slow, boggy and unresponsive device. (think putting windows 7 on an old laptop.
    Unfortunately software moves faster than hardware. Every thing goes obsolete. I've had my ipad 2 for two and a half years now and I know it only has so much longer left to it too. Just the 'joys' of advancing technology.

  • Why can't I run my Java program with just the JRE, the JDK is required?

    I've recently written 3 programs in Java using the Netbeans IDE with JDK 1.6 as the default Java platform. The compile-time libraries include the Swing Application Framework. I use BuildDesk from ProductiveMe to package the each program into a Windows installer.
    When I install the programs on a new computer without a JRE or JDK being present, and attempt to run them I get an error (as expected) stating that there is no JVM. The messages says that I need to install JDK 1.3 or higher. I downloaded the latest JRE onto the new computer and attempted to run the programs and I get the same error message. My question is, why can't I run these programs with just the JRE installed? Why do I need the JDK? When I install the JDK, the programs run fine. The typical user may not have the JDK on their system, but they likely have the JRE if they've run Java programs before.
    Is the answer as simple as there must be library functions being used by the programs that belong to the JDK, but not the JRE? I'd rather a user not have to install the JDK verses the JRE because they may also have to update some Windows environment variables.
    Thank you for any help on this issue.

    Thanks for your replies. I further investigated BuildDesk and found an option which allows a JVM check but that check needs the JDK. I stopped the JVM check and rebuilt using BuildDesk and it now only requires the JRE to run the programs. The reason why I use BuildDesk is to package more than just the jar file for the user. BuildDesk allows me to create a installation folder structure as well as include any other files in the build. I could just as well zipped all this together for the user but decided against that method.I don't think anyone will question your usage of an installer tool; that is entirely up to you. But what is questionable is that you have problems with that installer tool and then go look for help in a Java programming forum. The next time, go look for help at the source. If there is no way to acquire help (support, a forum, a mailinglist, anything) then that is a very good reason to not use the product in question.

  • Why can't I see the airplay icon in the music app or control centre on my Iphone 4 running ios7? I can see it in the movie app

    Why can't I see the airplay icon in the music app or control centre on my Iphone 4 running ios7? I can see it in the movie app

    I've seen something yesterday that says Airplay in control centre is only for Iphone 4S and onwards. It's frustrating when they take something away without any obvious reason. I'm going to change back to IOS6 until it's sorted out.
    I also tried connecting to bluetooth and only once I'm connected does an icon show up in control centre. There's no direct way to connect to a device from control centre on the Iphone 4 from the looks of it.

  • Why this tree can not show on the Applet?

    hi, all, I try to create a java Applet show a tree, this following code has no error, but the tree can not show on the Applet, can any one tell me why? thanks!

    public class AppletApp extends Applet {
         Date myDate;
         protected JTree m_tree = null;
         protected DefaultTreeModel m_model = null;
         protected JTextField m_display;
         public void init() {
         public void paint(Graphics g) {
              DefaultMutableTreeNode root = new DefaultMutableTreeNode("root");
              DefaultMutableTreeNode node1 = new DefaultMutableTreeNode("node1");
              root.add(node1);
              node1.add(new DefaultMutableTreeNode("sub1_1"));
              node1.add(new DefaultMutableTreeNode("sub1_2"));
         public static void main(String arg[]) {
              JFrame myFrame = new JFrame();
              Container contentPane = myFrame.getContentPane();
              contentPane.setLayout(new GridLayout(1,2));
              AppletApp app = new AppletApp();
              contentPane.add(new JScrollPane(app), BorderLayout.CENTER);
              myFrame.addWindowListener (new WindowAdapter() {
                   public void windowClosing(WindowEvent e) {
                        System.exit(0);
              app.init();
              app.start();
              myFrame.setSize (400,400);
              myFrame.setVisible(true);
    </code>

    Not quite sure what you are trying to do, but if you move the code from the paint() method into the init() method (then delete your paint() method), then add one new line to the init() method (after the code you just inserted) that reads:
    getContentPane().add(new JTree(root));
    - You should at least see a tree!

  • Why can't I download the latest iTunes to my mac which is a 10.5.8

    I have got myself in a real mess, I installed the new iOS 7 onto my iPad and I don't like it so I imported all my new photos to my mac, then I reset all my settings on my iPad thinking that it would go back to the original settings but alas didn't work.
    Then I thought I would put up with it but now I cannot put my photos etc back onto the iPad because my mac needs the version of iTunes but when I try to install the new version I get a messy come up that iTunes cannot install this new version on my mac which is a 10.5.8.
    So now I am stuck with the software on the iPad I don't like and I cannot sync the iPad to iTunes
    So why can't I download the new version of iTunes to the mac which is 10.5.8

    Put simply, the minimum system requirements for iTunes have changed. You need a Mac running at least OS X 10.6.8.
    It's best you look online to see if your model of Mac can be upgraded to at least 10.6.8 "Snow Leopard". It should still be possible to order a copy of Snow Leopard if so.

  • Why can't I use the Basic brush tool?

    I'm learning the ropes of drawing in Illustrator and I've fallen at the first hurdle. Why can't I use the Basic brush tool? Whenever I select the brush tool and use the 'Basic' brush type, the cursor turns into a hashed circle indicating I can't draw. If I load other brushes, I can draw with other brush types, but I can't use the Basic one. If I select the Basic brush when I have other brushes loaded and try to draw with it, it always defaults to a different brush! I don't understand why.
    On a related matter, I'm also having trouble changing brush size. I know that using the [ and ] keys changes brush size, but I have no idea what the values are. If I try this in Photoshop, I can see the brush size in the Options bar, but in Illustrator it doesn't appear anywhere! Not in the Brushes palette, the Stroke palette or the Appearance palette. Where can I see the brush size?

    Glitcher,
    The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
    1) Close down Illy and open again;
    2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
    3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
    4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
    5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
    Even more seriously, you may:
    6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.
