Why does my iPad continuously closes from where I'm working and takes me to home screen?

Why does my iPad continuously close from where I'm working and takes me to home screen?

It might be out of memory. Close all apps you're not using using the toolbar that comes up when you double click on the home button. Press and hold any icon and then tap on the red minus (-) symbol of the apps you're not using.

  • I am having an issue where safari keeps crashing and returning to the home screen on an ipad1

safari on my ipad1 keeps crashing and returning to the home screen. rebooting does not fix the problem neither has a full reset through itunes from a backup or setting up as a new machine. Cab nay body help?

If restoring from a backup doesn't help, you must have something corrupt in the backup - like a Safari bookmark perhaps - or something in the Safari history. Try the last tip in this list first.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Close Safari and all apps. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus (-) sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Cache. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

  • Why does my ipad suddenly leave the app I am using and go back to the main screen

When I am using apps on my ipad it suddenly leaves the app and reverts to the main screen, does anyone know why this happens?? Is it a problem with the ipad?? Doesn't happen with any particular app, seems to affect all apps. And it doesn't happen all the time, just sometimes, very annoying. Any ideas as to what could be going on

This is typically a memory issue - meaning, you have too many apps running. You don't mention your device and iOS version so it's difficult to say. Try this...
Double click the Home button and close all open apps.
Reset your iPad by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
Try again to see if the problem persists.

  • Why does my iPad first gen. Kick me off FB and games if I try to read an ?entry, it turns off..

Why does my first gen iPad, kick me off FB when I try to read news articles, and in the games?

    Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.

  • Why does my iPad 3rd gen. stop responding after 5 minutes of use? The home button still works but the touchscreen doesn't react.

This is getting incredibly annoying.  I've had this thing for 3 months and I can't use it for more than 5 mins at a time because the touchscreen stops responding!!! I tried restoring it to its factory defaults and it still keeps messing up.

Make Sure iOS is updated to the latest version
Reboot the device by pressing and holding down the home and sleep/wake buttons (power) at the same time until the apple logo appears on the screen, then let go.
If that doesn't work then reset the device by going to settings/general/reset/reset all settings
If that doesn't work, then update iTunes on computer, backup device to iTunes, then restore the device.

  • Why does my iPad continually prompt me to enter my apple Id and password? Every 5 minutes? Where can I change this setting. My password is correct.

My iPad always asks me to enter my I'd and password. It is the correct password but seems to be set to prompt this question every 5 minutes. Where do I change this. I'm going nuts! Am 72 and everything else works great but don't want this interruption. Please help. Thank you.

Try rebooting your iPad:  Press and hold BOTH the power and home buttons at the SAME time for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple Logo and then let go of both buttons and your iPad will reboot.  You won't lose any settings or data.  See if that stops the problem.
If it doesn't.  Go to Settings > App Store Sign out of your Apple ID, then sign back in.  Make sure all the information is correct.

  • Why does my iPad only charge from my Macbook?

I have the origional ipad (it does what I need so I don't see the point in upgrading) it has worked fine since I got it.
However recently a bizzare bug has appeared, it will only charge when plugged into my 2012 macbook pro but when I plug it into the 50W Mains adaptor it refuses to charge, what is going on? I have tired different cables, different chargers everything!

The iPad 1 charger is 10W not 50W. Make sure that the outlet that you are using is working.

I have an IPAD 2 and through out the day it continues to turn off and on by itself.   Can anyone help with this or give me suggestions on what to do.
I have already updated it to the latest software.

    (A) Reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.
    (B) Reset all settings

  • Why does my IPad 2 keep re-wiping after I restore and reconnect to the exchange server?

For some unknown reason my IPad was wiped via my companies exchange server (2007)
I did not initiate a wipe from the exchange server, my IT department did not either and I did not have 10 failed attempts to login.
    Here is the story:
-My email access gets locked here at work.
-My IT department unlocks my email
-Then I go to our exchange server>options and remove the IPad from the device list.
-Then I plug my IPad 2 into my Mac, open Itunes and restore successfully. Then I go to my mail settings, I re-connect to our exchange server successfully and see my most recent emails.
-Then several minutes later it suddenly wipes again
-Then I receive the notification Remote Device Wipe Confirmation
(then I repeat the entire process and get the same result)
**I have the Iphone 4 and I am connected to the same server, without problems
    Here is what I have:
    IPad 2 Software ver. 5.0.1
    Mac OS 10.6.5
    Microsoft Exchange 2007

I would recommend as soon as you restore the iPad go in and delete the exchange account from your device.  It may have a cached entry causing the wipe command to continue to execute.  You may ultimately need to restore it without the backup and set the account up again.

  • Why does my iPad (3rd Gen.) keep turning itself on and off?

I currently have my 3rd generation iPad plugged into the wall charger. It has been plugged in since yesterday morning and is still going through the same routine: on, off, on, off...HELP! I have tried to reset it, but it won't respond; the screen just keeps going black (with Apple logo) as soon as it turns on enough to get to the lock screen. Also, it will immediately become unresponsive when I unplug it from the charger.

I would think that you either have a charger problem or a something inside your iPad (battery, perhaps). I suggest you take it in for diagnosis.
