When clicking on an item on a grocery flyer online..the item does not pop up and the browser freezes with a gray overtone.
In the iamge I clicked on the normal window on Delissio pizza and a small window shopuld have popped up with deatils on the sale of the product...instead the screed turns gray(normal)...but no popup and the browser freezes

Third-party system modifications are a common cause of usability problems. By a “system modification,” I mean software that affects the operation of other software — potentially for the worse. The following procedure will help identify which such modifications you've installed. Don’t be alarmed by the complexity of these instructions — they’re easy to carry out and won’t change anything on your Mac.
These steps are to be taken while booted in “normal” mode, not in safe mode. If you’re now running in safe mode, reboot as usual before continuing.
Below are instructions to enter some UNIX shell commands. The commands are harmless, but they must be entered exactly as given in order to work. If you have doubts about the safety of the procedure suggested here, search this site for other discussions in which it’s been followed without any report of ill effects.
Some of the commands will line-wrap or scroll in your browser, but each one is really just a single line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, and you can then copy it. The headings “Step 1” and so on are not part of the commands.
Note: If you have more than one user account, Step 2 must be taken as an administrator. Ordinarily that would be the user created automatically when you booted the system for the first time. Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:

This time you'll be prompted for your login password, which you do have to type. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. Type it carefully and then press return. Note: If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before taking this step. If that’s not possible, skip to the next step.

Firefox hangs when clicking "Options" on any add-on in the add-on manager.

After the latest update the add-on manager window hangs whenever i click on the options for any add-on. The main firefox window works fine, but i am unable to to go into the options for my add-ons. Moreover, my search engines keep rearranging and disappearing. I dont know if that's relevant, but I thought I should add it too.

I installed 4 different extensions ... when I click on addon manager and click any extension "options" the whole addon manger freezes up for me as well. I can't close or escape the window. I can open another browser window but the old window with the addon manager is frozen so I must use task manager to close.
After trying many options this worked for me ... I uninstalled Adobe Flash plugin and reinstalled Shockwave Flash 11.0.1.152 ... I do not know why or how but it fixed the problem Now everything is working HURRAY!

Why is firefox randomly playing advertisment clips that are not present on the screen?

I just downloaded Firefox 4 and now whenever I choose a new website or search, some kind of advertisement clip plays. I cannot find any ad box to close it or pause it, but it cuts itself off after about 30-60 seconds. If I stay on the website it repeats the same ad again. (Even on this site I have had random ad clips playing). I am not very computer literate so I don't know if its something I need to do on my end to shush these ads (preferably permanently) or something that I might need to seek help for.

Hi, the screen on my I pad mini is frequently magnifying itself , then freezing.

My IPad mini screen goes out of control, things become super-magnified and I am unable to swipe to shrink he screen. To reboot is difficult because the slide button has taken itself outside the frame. Help please.

Still trying to figure out how to navigate these forum pages. For the last two consecutive days I have opened the default e-mail client on this iPad2 to find that the app will download all e-mail from my accounts and then freeze. I have to hit the power switch to shut off and then restart the iPad -the I can open my individual e-mails. Just like hitting control-alt-delete in the windows OS. Has the e-mail app been updated or something. I haven't knowingly changed anything. By the way , registering for forums is a pain in the butt - I ahink i have screwed up myz old user name and will attack that separately.

Typing 5 & 2 and then freezing

Hi there, I have been experiencing numerous problems with my Blackberry Curve 8300. It freezes, app errors and so on. I woke up this morning and was surfing a page (that I have visited previously without a problem) and next thing I know I was booted out of the page and back to the list of my applications. I was unable to go back onto the internet as my Blackberry had frozen. I tried to move and click the scroll ball but nothing worked. Finally something started to happen but I was not the cause of it. It started to dial 525 and then freeze. I would try to erase the numbers and exit. It finally allowed me to do this but then went back to type 25 again and freeze. Annoyed, I removed the battery and waited ten seconds before replacing it and reloading. Finally the screen came back up and asked for my password as I have it locked. My password is only 4 letters and as I was typing it I noticed that for some reason it kept typing 5 letters despite me only physically touching the only 4 buttons needed for my password. Eventually I got my password to work and everything seemed normal. I was messaging my husband on BBM and while I was doing that I started noticing that it was typing "ed" without me even coming near the keys. I clued in and realized that once again it was typing "5" and "2" as it had done previously. Everything else was fine so I ignored this problem. I went away from my phone for about a good hour and when I came back it had shut itself off and I couldn't get it to restart. I finally had to once again pull the battery, wait ten seconds and then try reloading. Once it got to my password screen it wouldn't let me type my password again and then blacked out again. I had to pull the battery again and this time I waited ten minutes and it is finally working (so far) but I am just seriously annoyed. I read somewhere it could be moisture but I was wondering if it could be anything else? I hate this phone.

I already had my old unused FCE 2 and I just bought the FCE 3.5 upgrade and I bought the FCE 4 upgrade so that I can use my Leopard and iLife 08, Quicktime Pro, Apple TV and Apple Airport Extreme Base Station and Diana Welands FCE 4 Training Book with my Canon HV20 -- all this on my old G5 Power Mac dual 2.5

Try clearing Safari's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cache (and Clear History)
If that doesn't work then try closing Safari completely and then re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

I have a datagrid that contains three static DataGridColumn columns. The first column uses a checkbox item renderer whose sortable property is set to false:

On creation complete, a fourth column is added dynamically to the datagrid, through ActionScript, and several of its properties are set, like so:

Everything is rendered just fine. If I sort the datagrid items by clicking the column header of the second or third columns (these are the static columns that use Flex's default sort function) and then click on any of the items' checkboxes, there are no issues. However, if I sort the items by clicking on the header of the dynamically-added fourth column and then click on any of the items' checkboxes, the results are partially re-sorted. Setting a breakpoint in my attributeCompareFunction method, any time I click a checkbox in this use case, this compare function is called.
Can someone shed some light on why this function is invoked in this last use case, especially when performing a non-sortable event (clicking on a checkbox)?

The event dispatched by "ProductVO/dispatchEvent" is of type "mx.events.PropertyChangeEvent", which is OK since the "compare" property was updated. However, later in the call stack, the "ArrayList" object fires an "internalDispatchEvent" of type "mx.events.CollectionEvent", which is an "update" event. Looking at the rest of the call stack, this is the event that leads to the re-sort.
Is there any way to prevent this CollectionEvent event from firing and, if so, how?

Excel Freezes when Clicking on a Particular Tab within Excel

So, we are currently transitioning to SmartView from the Essbase Add-in. We have been already done a bunch of conversion for both files and VBA code with macros running properly without errors. However, for a particular file, we have been experiencing an issue of Excel freezing when clicking on a specific tab. The tab has no need to be connected to a database and only consists of formulas that are linked to other tabs. The issue only occurs when SmartView is enabled. If it is disabled, and the Add-in is enabled, you are able to click on the tab and navigate the sheet. With SmartView enabled (Add-in either enabled or disabled), as I said, freezes whenever clicking on that particular tab. I was wondering if there is any fix or something that I am overlooking for the file as to why this is happening. I saw some "fixes" online but none seemed to work or even seemed to be reasonable options to try to fix the problem.

I just wonder, which Excel version you run and in which version the sheet was created that crashes.
We had Excel freezing for an analysis created in Excel 2003 sheet when running in Excel 2010. To solve this we created an entirely new file, connected the sheet to the cube and then copied over the refresh area from the crashing sheet. You may want to test this to see if it works. However, if you have formula references this needs some extra handling.
In other freeze/crash cases it helped to change the Smart View Options>Advanced: Compatibility section and checked 'Reduce Excel size' and 'Improve Metadata storage'.

Since downloading and installing Firefox 3.6.16, Firefox crashes when clicking on certain e-mails in my inbox. I need help.

I installed v. 3.6.15 on 3/21/2011. Since then Firefox crashes when clicking on random e-mails in my inbox. I am running v. 10.6.7 on my iMac which I installed on 3/29/2011. I am running Java v. 10.6, Update 4, which was installed on 3/10/2011. My Adobe reader was just updated to v. 9.4.3. My iMac desktop is not quite 2 years old. When this problem occurs, everything clears off the screen. I get a message "Firefox quit unexpectedly. When I click on 'Reopen', I get the message: "Well, this is embarrassing. Firefox is having troubl recovering your windows and tabs. This is usually caused by a recently opened web page. (Don't know what that means) There are no 'Crash ID(s), because everything disappears from the screen. Could someone send instructions via e-mail on what to do? I am 73 years old and do not know a lot about computers.
