Why is login page (to register to use this forum) and other pages displaying foreign characters (e.g., বাংলা (বাংলাদেশ) when am using English (U.S.) versions of IE6 & Opera 10.6 to contact you (as FF4 hanging computer)?
FF4 hanging badly, so used IE6 & Opera 10.63 to register with & access Mozilla support site. Some words on those pages displayed in a foreign language (Arabic script?? )-- example, বাংলা (বাংলাদেশ)
Foreign characters on initial Support registration page, were in lieu of English words asking to select UserID & Password. (Page not entirely in foreign language--only parts. Request to repeat password choice, enter email, were in English).
I registered (guessing what to enter). Went to Support page [support.mozilla.com/bn-BD/kb/ask]. Greeted by statement: "Our volunteers haven't translated this article into বাংলা (বাংলাদেশ) yet."
No idea what language that is, or why u think I can read it. Presently logged in from U.S.
That is Bengali ([http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html]). Firefox 4 no longer has the language setting in the user agent and in your case it doesn't seem to work to detect the language.
You can change the bn-BD in the link(s) to en-US on the Mozilla sites.

Hi to all, I use Windows 7, 64Bit and Lightroom 5.7, Camera Raw 8.7, when I develop or export files (mostly Raw Fils from Nikon D810) after 10 to 20 pictures my computer shuts down or I get a bluescreen. Please tell me why.
Blue screen/Computer shuts down is almost always a hardware malfunction or a driver problem.
Make sure your video driver is up to date.
If it is, then the next suspect, in my mind, is overheating, make sure all of the fans in your CPU case are working properly. -
iPad bombs out returns to home page using Google Earth and other random Apps, why and how can I prevent it happening?
Quit/close all apps and restart the iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
You can try this as well.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. -

Where do I begin to create my website using this G5 and Pages '08? I don't even know where to start...
I made a temporoary website on wordpress with my pc -- now I want to see what is possible with this G5 and Pages '08 by bro gave me.The current version is iLife '11. iWeb is up to v4 and I think has been out since 2007.
There is no iLife folder, the applications are loose within the Applications folder.
You can purchase a boxed version of iLife from Apple or an Apple reseller.
The Mac App store does not offer iWeb and you would need OSX 10.6.6 to use the App Store.
If you began your website using WordPress, why not continue to use it, it does not matter what system you are on, Windows, Mac or Linux, WordPress is web based.

How I solved this.
Log into itunes on your compter
Click on Apps under Library in left menu bar
Click 'Check for Updates' botton right on iMac
New 'Terms and Conditions' notification appears with accept button
Click 'Accept' and your all set.
BTW I had my iphone connect during this procedure. -
Why don't pictures from a slideshow made in iPhoto and then burned on to a DVD in iDVD not use the full screen?
All I want to do is send my family the pictures for them to be able to see them on most dvds and use manually control.
If you want set top DVD player playback, I suggest you create a a series of slideshows IN iDVD that each contain a MAXIMUM of 99 images. Do not create the slideshow in iPhoto or iMovie.
Is there an easier way to do this, bypassing iDVD?

Sorry... But... The Apple ID and Password that was Originally used to Activate the iDevice is required.

Hi, I've just downloaded Aperture 3.2 and transfered all my iPhoto Library but now when I use the Aperture program it runs at the slowest speed possible and is almost impossible to work with. It is constantly processing why is this?
You can click on the text that says 'processing' in the main windows and it will open (toggle) the Activity Window, (can also be accessed via the Window menu -> Show Activity.
It will tell you what Aperture is doing with more precision and perhaps even how many photos it still needs to process. It is generally best to wait until all that processing is done before you start working with the photos (well it is best to first turn of options what you dont want to use, perhaps Faces or Previews and then let it process the new photos). -

Use Secure HTTPS throughout this Forum and the Meteor Website
This is not a "Bright Idea", this is a security flaw with the setup of this forum. When registering to use this forum you are asked for these personal sensitive pieces of information: - Password- Email Address- Mobile Number- CUSTOMER SERVICE PIN!- Age Confirmation This forum does not use secure HTTPS TLS anywhere, so when you register with this form, and when you login you are sending this information is clear plain text over the Web. This is extremely insecure especially considering (A) It's a known fact most typical users will use the same account password on multiple sites, so one should assume a user registering for this forum will use the same password that they use for the main MyMeteor account. (B) The Customer Service PIN is one of the pieces of information used when interacting with Meteor either by phone, chat, email, forum or post as a way to verify a persons credentials and valid identity. So given (A) & (B) if a users password and/or PIN are intercepted on an insecure internet connection, the person gaining access to these credentials could use it to impersonate the customer when communicating with Meteor. The implications are obvious. When an attacker wants to gain access to customer details they will look for the weekest access link. This forum is one of the weekest access links and if comporimised or if user details are intercepted it gives the attacker all the information they need. This forum may be powered by the Lithium service, but it is Meteor's Technical team's responsibilty to setup and secure this forum adequetly. At the moment they have not done this. They are leaving customers at risk of identity theft and are failing in their obligations under Data Protection laws. This needs to be addressed immediatly. On a wider issue it is now considered good practice for public serving websites to use TLS throughout their website and not just for registration and login pages. Contrary to misconception using TLS throughout your site will not greatly reduce the speed or performance of the site if the sys admins have used correct modern server configurations, optimisations and TLS implementation. The major browsers are now blocking out non-secure elements on secure web pages and even Google is going to start using TLS as a signal for traffic ranking. So websites using TLS throughout their site will potentially get better search rankings on Google than those without. I would ask the Meteor Sys admins to at the very least seurce this forum with TLS and then role out TLS across their entire meteor.ie web properties and follow best practise.
I have found that there is an SSL certificate installed on the server to cover the forums.meteor.ie domain, however it is not being enforced. Whilst not a perfect solution, for those using the EFF HTTPS Everywhere browser extension, I have written a ruleset that will force the browser to load https://forums.meteor.ie. Safari opens only these forums and other Apple pages?
I had to remove the router from my iMac last night, so I set the Network panel to work with the DSL modem only. After doing so, Safari only connets and opens the Apple forums and other Apple pages, nothing else. Also, Sotware Update won't work.
I have reinstalled the router, and right now the Network panel indicates that the network is working, and that the computer is connected to the Internet via the router and modem. It does not matter how many times I "Create A new Location" and then apply it. Safari won't work with any of the bookmarks, except for the Apple bookmarks.
I restarted the computer from the (backup) external hard drive and ran Safari from there, and it works fine. However, I followed the advise of an Apple Technician on a chat, and was told that I could drag Safari from the external HD to the internal, and replace Safari with it. I did so, and then restarted from the internal HD, placed the Safari alias in the trash, created a new alias and put it in the Dock, and used Safari. But Safari is having the same problems.
It seems that both Safari, and Software Update follow the same path from the computer to the Internet, so i am trying to figure with files in the System have screwed-up.
Do you have any ideas of what the problem with Safari may be?I will respond to myself to keep you informed of the progress with my problems and Safari/Software Update:
1. I created another account, but again there was no change with Safari nor with Software Update. I am certain that the problem is related to Software, perhaps Preferences and such.
2. However, since I don't know enough about OS X to mess around with it, I decided to start from the LaCie external HD as I did before, and proceeded to perform a "Smart Update" with SuperDuper. Before the Smart Update, I printed the last unread e-mail in the mailboxes, since I know that SuperDuper would erase those. I backed the iMac's HD a couple of days ago, before encountering all of these problems with Safari, so all the files and applications are fresh and in good order.
3. I am replaying to myself using Safari, after I restarted from the iMac's internal HD. Safari now works as well as ever, and I am certain that Sotfware Update will work fine, too.
I hope that Apple takes notes on the problems several of us are having with Safari. Just for the records: This version of Safari is the latest in Mac OS 10.4.2. A week or so ago, I upgraded OS 10.3.9 to OS 10.4, and had quite a lot of trouble with the Network panel. Regardless of the settings to use a router and modem, or jut the DSL modem, a connection to the server could not be established, and whenever such connection was possible, Safari would only open the Apple pages, and Software Update would not work.
I ended-up erasing the hard drive and reinstalling Mac OS 10.4 three more times, for a total of four, before I could get Safari and Software Update to work. On the last attempt, the only difference from the other attempts was that this time I didn't dare use Safari until every little update was installed by Software Update. Now, please note that the problems I had then were not exactly the same, since this time Network Diagnostics passed the connection test with flying colors. The previous times, a connection could not be established 99% of the time. But even though the problems were not exactly the same, I believe that whatever happens, to Safari, FireFox (FireFox was not working), and Software Update is related to whatever path these applications follow toward an Internet connection. -
I downloaded 200 photos, an event folder was created, I could see all the photos and was in the process of editing them when I got a message that iPhoto unexpectedly quit. I cannot find the photos anywhere on my computer now. Is there anything to do?
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
