  • Wrong component aspect in the design tab of the jsp page

    Hi,
Don’t know if you can help me, but, I was developing my app and all of the sudden in the design tab of my jsp page the components stop appearing with the correct aspect (that is, a combobox, for example, is a edit with a little button on the side) and started to appear as squares with the name of component above the square.
I don’t know what I’ve done wrong, and any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Ana Azevedo

Thanks for your responses, but I already tried both cases before I posted the thread and neither worked.
I don't have errors or warnings in the structure panel, creating a new JSP JSF page doesn't work either and I have this situation for 3/4 days, so I reopened JDeveloper a lot in between.
Meanwhile I started my app all over again because it was still very small (5 pages), but it had some aspects that I'm having difficult to make again, so it was best if I could resolve my problem.
    Thanks again,

  • 10g - stack dump in JSP design tab - minor.

I have a JSP which references a style sheet on a remote server. Don't ask. Normally when I look at it in the JSP editor Design tab I get an alert box saying 'Error opening style.css". This is fine.
Today I got the following stack dump instead.
The page displayed OK after I dismissed the error dialog.

  • Unified Expression language framework in another context than JSP/JSF

    Hi
+(I hope this is the right place for such question)+
We are building some RCP apps and we are in need, for our frameworks, of a expression language that allows to get and set values, and other things, and it seems that the Unified Expression Language Framework meets our need.
However, as I said, this is a RCP app, not a web app. So my question is
Is this framework designed to be used outside of the web app context (jsp, jsf, etc) ? Or is there any dependencies that would prevent or make it difficult to use it in a GUI RCP application?
    Thanks for your help

  • JSF editor Bug ?

Hi everybody i'm trying the new jdeveloper 10.1.3 with jsf support , and after use it sometime, i realize that the jsf editor is not synchronizing very well the components on the backing code with the jsp document , when the backing code class isn't compiling (and it's saved in this state). This is a terrible source of error when you don't know it ...
the question is , this is a normal behaviour or horrible bug ?

Thanks, but that's not what i mean, you modify the components in the property inspector, but you don't write the methods code on the property inspector. The problem is when that code isn't compiling, if you keep using the jsp design view, the backing bean stops being updated ... if you dont realize of this bug you got desync the view with the backing ... :S

  • It looks Oracle Form/Applet  die hard versus J2EE Servlet/JSP/JSF  & AJAX

I left the form forum for a while and am busy with transfering our Oracle web forms app to Struts based J2EE application (just because the Oracle EE AS is the moving cause, it's out of my control.). After a year or so on J2EE which I enjoyed the fresh OO coding while keep enhancing Oracle webform app in production, I have some thought on Applet vs J2EE JSP/JSF plus AJAX.
    1) JSP itself is hard to avoid the full screen refreshing even though user just does partial changes ,e.g., lists, on the screen, it has to use AJAX to do the tricks. While partial refreshing in applet is natural default behavior.
    2) Forms is really an RAD, while J2EE's IDEs does help a bit(IBM's Websphere v6 even called iRAD) which takes way longer programming time compared to Forms. One IBM's article says it trys to win the Oracle Forms developers by giving the familiar graphical way of drag/drop GUI, so IBM recognizes the RAD coding power of Oracle Forms. So, IBM promotes the RAD similar to Oracle Forms.
    3) GUI/business rules related validation: Applet offered a great advantage over JSP/ even JSF which to avoid the full screen refresh, AJAX/JavaScript is used heavily. User friendly interaction of applet is way better than J2EE.
    4) Browser's back/refresh buttons also are headache to J2EE, expecially we need to support IE and Firefox. Applet basically is not bothered by these buttons.
Recently, I read techi news said that the new chips will make the network transfer speed 10 time faster than now-even the cell phone transfer the image will be way faster. Then I predict the applet, just like IBM's mainframe, will see its Spring again, not like now in its winter. Especially the Oracle Forms makes coding easier than pure applet coding.
Oracle folks, kepp beefing up the Oracle Forms, don't just pay attention to JDev. J2EE IDE, most of all, remove the Oracle EE ASxx block, be open. Oracle EE ASxx is really not a pretty baby, even though so Oracle thinks it is.

    1) Why we are transfering your Oracle web forms app to Struts based J2EE application?
Since our corporate is IBM world-DB2/UDB, WebSphere AS (WAS) etc. It only allows Oracle Forms/reports servers to be compatible with the infrastructure. It does not allow to purchase another EE app server(espeically LDAP). We could not upgrade our forms/reports6i to 9i or 10g.
2.Therefore the Oracle EE AS is the moving cause, it's out of my control because I did my best to talk to Oracle sales, but no avail. I am glad that I got a good chance to beef up my J2EE Struts skills.
If extract out the forms/report9i/10g engines from the Oracle EE AS 9i/10g, (don't attempt to bundle sell the EE AS to customers-regardless of the shrinked 9.0.4 forms/reports services version, it's still another EE AS) and make them compatible with other ASs(espcially the LDAP), then Oracle Forms will have more customers.

  • Why do units of measurement in paragraph tab and character tab differ?

Why do units of measurement in paragraph tab and character tab differ?
In Indesign CC 2014.1 when I set the units for type to be in points and all other measurements apart from strokes to be in mm, why are the units for the paragraph tab also in mm?
In both Photoshop CC and Illustrator CC, whatever units you assign for type also are used for the paragraph settings, which makes sense.
I want everything to do with type to be in points and pretty much everything else in mm, yet the only way I can have the paragraph tab units as points is for all measurements to be in points!
Does this sound right or is something wrong with my Indesign?
    Thanks

They are made by Adobe, and Adobe has different teams for different applications.
Sometimes the same feature in multiple applications is designed slightly differently than the way other teams would handle it.
    This may be down to:
Time constraints to get the feature in - compared to other top priority items
Having to make a decision on whether to do it one way or another way - 50/50 type thing
Due to the limitations of how the program was designed and how the feature ties in with other features etc.
And many many more programming reasons. It may be the guy doing the photoshop changes wasn't as well versed in typography needs as the indesign guy.
Who knows - but there are differences in lots of areas between all apps.

  • Design tab problem

    Hi all
I'im new in jdeveloper so i have "stupid" question
I use ADF to build my application... sometime when i create new page and drag-drop a new component to form (adf core ->button command) on design tab i see
    <ROOT>
    <OTUPUT>page directive
    <view>
    <html>
    instead page...
    why?

    Hi,
there are many possible reasons causing this
    - malformed definition in the faces-config.xml file (open the faces-config.xml file in the source view and see if there are errors marked)
    - malformed JSF page (eg. missing <view> element)
    - Servlets and Filters that have external dependencies

  • Can't edit in Design tab - "overflow: hidden (double-click to edit)" - cause, remedy?

In the Design tab, the content of some web pages becomes uneditable (where it had previously been editable), even though it is in an editable region in the template. All of the uneditable text has a black background. When the cursor is floated over this text a popup gives the message "overflow: hidden (double-click to edit)". (Note: the text is still editable in the Code tab.) Double clicking in the Design tab often doesn't do anything but sometimes corrects the problem. The following also didn't help:
    1. Making revisions in the Code tab and then refreshing. (The revisions show up in the Design tab but the text there is still uneditable.)
    2. Closing and reloading the page.
The content of other pages that use the same template remains editable.
    What causes this problem?
What is the best method to prevent it and correct it?
    DW CS6
    Win7 x64
    Thanks,
    Don C.

The problem is always a side-effect of the use of the overflow:hidden style. So why use it? It's tremendously valuable as a way of clearing floats inside a container, rather than adding a float clearing page element. And besides, if you can still edit the content in Code view, why worry? Anyhow, paste this into a new HTML page and try it.
    <div style="height:100px;overflow:hidden;">
<p>This content will not be editable without double clicking on it. Furthermore, any floats contained within this div will be cleared before closing the div, allowing the div to completely wrap its contents.</p>
<p>This content will not be editable without double clicking on it. Furthermore, any floats contained within this div will be cleared before closing the div, allowing the div to completely wrap its contents.</p>
    </div>
In Design view, you will only see two paragraphs. When you click in either of those two paragraphs, you will not be able to edit anything. When you double click you will see the div expand to show all 4 paragraphs, and you will then be able to click and edit at will.

  • Why can't I change to size of my test in emails now? CanI go back to previous email version. This one is horrible!!!

Why can't I change to size of my test in emails now? CanI go back to previous email version. This one is horrible. On my last update I was able to easilt find old emails now they disappear!!!! WTF?
This version cannot change the text size Do I have to go back to IE?

Which email site do you use?
    And some general advice:
When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
    (1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
    (2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:
    * right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
    * Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

  • Design tab of UIX page in JDeveloper 10g

I am using JDeveloper 10g (Build 9.0.5.1) and JHeadstart 9.0.5.1.11. I have generated a small application using the Application Generator but the UIX page generated does not display in the Design tab - rather a message saying that "The document is not in a valid state". Am I doing something wrong here or is this expected behaviour ??
    Cheers,
    Brent Harlow

    Brent,
Yes, this a known limitation, dcoumented in the release notes:
3601291: UIX: Errors are displayed in the structure pane of JDeveloper when clicking on a UIX page, for example: Element templates: findPage not defined in parent content. Also, when opening the UIX Design Editor the following text appears: The document is not in a valid state. Please edit this file in the code editor to resolve syntax problems and then return to the visual editor.
This does not cause any runtime problems.
The behavior is caused by the fact that JHeadstart does not use UIX in the default manner, and is therefore not correctly interpreted by JDeveloper 10g.
This will be fixed with the JHeadstart release that uses ADF.
    Steven Davelaar,
    JHeadstart team.

  • Why does sample editor play through Track 1 / Ch1 by default?

Do the controls, such as inserts & faders on the selected track effect the sample's playback?
Why does Sample Editor use the "Ch" abbreviation when it means "Track"?
Why play back on a track most likely used by another instrument? Shouldn't Sample Editor create its own track for playback?
Do most people create a separate track for this purpose?
Can somebody at Apple please force Steve Jobs to use Logic so he'll make it easier to use?
MacBook Pro 2.33 GHz Duo, 3GB   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

Do the controls, such as inserts & faders on the selected track effect the sample's playback?
Yes... anything associated with the selected audio channel will affect the sample playback. It's part of the workflow?
Why does Sample Editor use the "Ch" abbreviation when it means "Track"?
Because it doesn't mean track. It means Channel. The sample editor plays on the audio channel. The track you're using is tied to the audio channel.
Why play back on a track most likely used by another instrument? Shouldn't Sample Editor create its own track for playback?
Don't confuse tracks with channels. They are two totally different beasts here.
Do most people create a separate track for this purpose?
No... change the channel to a desired channel that you wish to audition your sample.
Can somebody at Apple please force Steve Jobs to use Logic so he'll make it easier to use?
How about we please force you to RTFM to learn Logic's workflow?
Mastering Logic is not an overnight process.

  • It's evident that JSC doesn't just read the jsp file to show the Design

view. Is there a .form file or something else that it reads?
I say that it's evident because I created a new page, then copied an existing page over it
so that it would start out looking the same - but the Design tab still shows a blank canvas.
    Thanks,
    Tom

Did you merely copy the JSP source, or did you copy
and paste the components in the design view?We just copied the jsp. We've found that when a jsp gets hosed like this,
we can then copy it again and it often gets straightened out. It's a pain, though.
