Why Oracle recommends to have less heap while using IBM Java in OEM 12c

I've recently installed OEM 12c R4 and set the values for OMS_HEAP_MIN (-Xms) and OMS_HEAP_MAX (-Xmx) to 1740M in a 64-bit environment as per Oracle recommendation. This can be found at http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24628_01/install.121/e24089/sizing.htm
But with only 1740M heap size, i am frequently getting java heap size related alerts.
Is there any specific reason for recommending only 1740M?
Can I safely increase the heap size to 4G as the manual suggest for Medium size OEM installations in case of other Java vendors

-When we ship the EM product, we default ship with 1.7G, but its up to customer to have a higher heap size accordingly to there use. I know, some customers are running 16GB of OMS heap size, since EM is centrally used by many of the people across their organization and target is more in the EM system.

Hi all,
When i try to run more than one servelt of the Quick Start samples that using Livecycle Java APIs and i get an error of "Remote EJBObject lookup failed for ejb/Invocation provider" from any servelt i run.
I try some Quick samples which is not servelts (java class) and it works fine, which makes me sure that my connection properties is true.
Environment:
The LiveCycle is based on "Websphere v6.1", and i use "Eclipse Platform
Version: 3.4.1".
i install "tomcat 5.5.17" to test the servelts in developing time through Eclipse.(only for test in developing time not for deploy on )

I assume here that your application is deployed on a different physical machine of where LCES is deployed and running.
Do the following test:
- Say that LCES is deployed on machine1 and your application is deployed on machine2. Ping machine1 from machine2 and note the ip address.
- Ping machine1 from machine1 and note the ip address.
The two pings should match.
- Ping machine2 from machine1 and note the ip address.
- Ping machine2 from machine2 and note the ip address.
The two pings should match.
Usually this kind of error would happen if your servers have internal and external ip addresses.

Why does the 1d have less megapixels than 5d

Can anyone tell my why Canon's flagship camera always has less megapixels than the next tier lower? I.E - the current 1DX has 18.1 MPS, and the 5DIII has 22.3?

Agreeing with what Cioppo said.
Note that Nikon's big flagship camera, the D4, only has 16.1 mp.
Jamming too many photosites onto at sensor creates noise problems, but unfortunately the public sees MP as a quick reference number to judge one camera vs. another. Like "horsepower" on a car, or something.
I think Canon's marketing needs to come up with a simple-sounding metric for signal to noise ratio or maximum high-quality ISO and start plastering it all over its advertizing and its camera boxes. Just keep it simple, so John O. Public will sieze on it like they currently do with megapixels.

How can I have full screen on my iPad air 2 with out having bookmarks as part of the screen

Try quitting Safari like I describe, then reset the iPad. Double click the Home button to show the screen with running and recently used apps. Each app icon will have a sample page above it. Flick up on the page (not the app icon) and the page will fly away and the app icon will disappear. This quits that app. Then Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button continuously until the Apple logo appears. Then release the button and let the device restart. You will not lose data doing this. It's like a computer reboot.
I would also suggest that you check to make sure that you have enough free space on your iPad for it to run efficiently. With iOS 8 it is recommended that you have 15-20% of the storage space on the device free. For a 16 GB device that is 2.4-3.2 GB free. For a 32 GB device that is 4.8-6.4 GB free. For a 64 GB device that is 9.6-12.8 GB free.

Why does SRS-X3 have intermittent sound when used as speakerphone? Works fine w/Pandora - same cell

Recently purchased an SRS-X3, primarily for use as a speaker phone. When linked with my cell phone and using Pandora, the sound is great. But, if I try to use it as a speaker phone, the sound breaks into intermittent bits that sound like regular intervals of sound and silence and makes the conversation coming in unintelligible. The sound going out to the other person on the phone does not seem to have this limitation (although I can't say this for sure, because it's hard to conduct this test when you can't hear a darn thing coming in.)
Any suggestions? I can't find anything in the experience base that refers to this phenomenon.

Note that your System Details List shows that you have a user.js file in the profile folder to initialize some prefs on each start of Firefox.
The user.js file is only present if you or other software has created it, so normally it wouldn't be there.
you can check its content with a plain text editor if you didn't create this file yourself.
The user.js file is read each time you start Firefox and initializes preferences to the value specified in this file, so preferences set via user.js can only be changed temporarily for the current session.

Why my macbook pro getting so hot while using two or more simple application???

for last 4 month i have been used macbook pro. at the begin i didn't face any trouble. recently i found that when i ran two or more application at a time my notebook began start hot. it's very scaring for me. what shall i do now.
one more thing, i need to use virtual machine here. is it create any problem for macbook pro ???

Notebook computer are designed to handle higher temps, so it's important to know the actual temps. I use the free utility Temperature Monitor:

because it does not invoke DashBoard, where all the widgets running can give a higher than realistic reading.
MBPs have thermal protection; if the temps approach those which could damage the computer, it shuts off. The safety shutdown point is, depending on the MBP variant, close to 100C/212F, a level that feels realy hot to the touch.
Other things to consider:
Make sure that air can get around and under the computer. Setting the computer on your lap or a blanket can block part of the heat dissipation system.
Commercial anti-virus/internet security programs can run up the temps
Third-party backup software can also run up temps. On one of my computers, using Western Digital's backup software jumped the processor temp by over 10 percent.

Can you elaborate of what you consider "simple Apps." A web browser is no longer simple if you are visiting sites that have a lot of Flash animation and/or video content. My MBP will jump 15-20F when viewing such sites with any browser.

My firefox 4 crashes very frequently almost once every time i use it. I didn't have this problem while using firefox 3.6. I have sent many crash reports but was never contacted about them. I didn't find any specific cause of these crashes. Kindly help!

There is no particular pattern of freezes. It may happen any time whether there are any number of active tabs 2,3,4 what ever. I didn't get signatures for some of my crash reports for the reason that the active cause of crash couldn't be identified. I have added some crash I.D's as well.

UnmarshalException while using prop java.rmi.server.ignoreStubClasses=true

I have created a test program to check the behaviour of setting the java.rmi.server.ignoreStubClasses property to true on the server side and not setting this flag on the client side.
This requirement is due to updation of an already running system, with stubs to a new version without stubs, without shutting down the system.

I am not able to figure out why this thing is happening, If i also set the property java.rmi.server.ignoreStubClasses=true on the client side everything goes fine. But this I can't do. I can't set the property on the client side as the system is up and already running.
I am using JDK version 1.5.0_06. Same exception comes under JDK 6.0

I think this is a bug. When you exported the Registry from your server JVM it was also exported with java.rmi.server.ignoreStubClasses=true, but the Registry bootstrap at the client requires the 1.1 stub protocol for compatiblity reasons so you got this error. I would report this on the Bug Parade.
You could get around it by setting java.rmi.server.ignoreStubClasses after exporting the Registry.
BTW java.rmi.server.ignoreStubClasses isn't supposed to do anything at the client whether true or false so you can cut your testing space in half.

Internal Server Error while using IBM HTTP SERVER

I used Webstudio tool to develop a JSP page and publish it on the IBM HTTP Server. When i was previewing the file, I got a internal server error 500 with the message of misconfiguration. I will be

Are you talking AS400? Websphere Application Server? Are you sure the file is in the right place? By default jsp's go in a folder or directory called 'web' which resides in the same directory as the 'servlets' directory. So in one directory you would have two directories, one called servlets for .class files and one called web for jsps. I don't know if this helps or not, but check it out. But I don't know if this were your problem if you wouldn't get a 'NOT FOUND' error instead of the misconfiguration error.
