Width between rows in a table

Hi,
I have created two tables, one in the main window and one in the secondary window. However the width between the lines is too much for the secondary. What determines the width of the lines between rows?also When i select a pattern for the table, the outer box does not appear even if i select the option Outer frame. Is it not possible to put a box around a table?

you can set the width of table columns by right click on the table to get the properties of the table in rtf

Trouble with space between rows

My problem is basically this: space keeps appearing between rows in my table when I preview my page in a browser. The design view of Dreamweaver displays it without the space (like I want it), but when I take a look in either Firefox or Internet Explorer, this undesirable space shows up.
I have spent hours scouring the internet looking for the solution to my problem, and none of them seem to do the trick. I have cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" inside the table tag, which prooved to be the answer for others when they had this same problem, but it still hasn't fixed my problem. My CSS also specifies no margin on the top or bottom of the ul and the li.
Anyway, if you could take a peek and give me some pointers, I would really appreciate it.

How do you adjust space between rows?

Hi guys. How do you adjust the space between rows. My table have no boarder between rows and no matter how I adjust the row height and cell margin. The generated report will still have the same amount of space between rows. Please help, thanks!

I had the same problem - I was trying to insert a row solely for spacing purposes, and tried adjusting the size using table properties->row->and setting the row hieght is to "exactly". This didn't work for me. The row still rendered larger than I set the row size. So I tried I changing the font size of the row just using the toolbar, and when I did that and ran the report, the row actually rendered the size I wanted.

Fixed width row for lines table

Hi,
I have a header and details tables in my template. The problem is that if there is more data for any of the column in lines, the row expands and hence the gap between footer and lines table is disturbed. Because of this reason I am unable to fix number of rows per page for lines. Any guidelines on this will help.

Hi,
Just to confirm this, you are having problems with the height of your table, ie it is expanding vertically down the page, as opposed to the width, expanding horizontally across the page.
You can fix the height of the table, by selecting the repeating row of the table and going to Table Properties, on the Row tab check the Specify Height box. You can then enter a height for this row. The drop down menu to the right means you specify whether the row should be At Least the specified height, or exactly the specified height.
You may need to look at nested tables here, but specifying the height of the rows should give you a reasonable starting point.

Insert table in between two rows of the table in Web dynpro abap.

I have a requirment like this,
while click on a hide/show button from the first row and last column of the table, want to display a table(or add some rows to insert data) in between the rows of the table and insert data in the new table .

hi raju....
if you want to insert rows.... then read the index of the row clicked and then read the node that is bound to the table and insert an empty row at that index and bind it back again....
if you want another table then make use of table popin.

Table row pagination question: not paginating between rows

I have a table with 13 rows + 1 header row. Most of the rows contain a single line of text that doesn't wrap, though 4 of the 13 have a single cell with text that wraps (to 3 lines) within the cell. This appears to be just shy of 1/2 page tall. The table is full (single) column width.
I have the table set as an inline object in the Object Placement inspector tab. (I want it to move with the associated text.)
In my document, the table is shifting to the top of a new page, leaving about 1/2 page of blank space on the page prior to the table beginning. I don't want this.
My desired layout is:
- Start the table immediately after its preceding text
- Display all the rows it can on that page
- Re-display the header on the next page
- Display any remaining rows
I've tried the following:
- Checked the Text > More inspector tab to make sure the "Keep lines together" checkbox isn't checked either for the table as a whole (can't be; it's greyed out), or for individual rows (isn't checked.)
- Tried different Placement > Wrap settings to see if changing it to left/right/above-below affects it (it doesn't);
- Added additional rows to the table to see if maybe there was just 1 orphan row and Pages didn't want to put 1 orphan on a second page. No go; I grew the table length with a dozen rows to reach 3/4 page in length, and it just kept growing the table (and pushing content) down, but not moving the start of the table "up" to the prior page
- Added additional rows to the table so that the table itself was > 1 page of rows. This did cause the table to split as I desire, repeating the table header. BUT, it did not move the table up to the prior page as desired.
- Removed some rows in the table to see if/when Pages would put the table on the prior page (where I want it to be). This worked to move it up earlier, but I do in fact need the removed rows, so this isn't a solution.
Note that I don't want to split the table manually (if I don't have to), because as I change the content over time, pagination is likely to change, too, and I don't want to have to re-merge the tables when the row-break should change.
What else should I be looking for? What setting am I missing? Or is Pages (which I mostly love) just not going to let me control where it thinks it wants to start the table?

This is maddening.... Sigh. Par for the course with iWork; so much promise, yet so immature.

Inserting static text in between rows returned from a pivot table

Is there a way to type static text (eg. “Note that the data for Land has an accuracy of 98%”) in between rows returned from the dataset in the rtf template. The alternative would be to break the BI analysis report (which is the source of the template data) into 2 parts and then insert each part into the template one below the other with the text typed in between.

Oracle support has confirmed that this requirement is not possible to implement

Hi, Do you mean to say,
You have an HTML page in which you have a text field and an add button. If you enter anything in that text field and click on Add button the text field contents should be displayed in the same HTML page and you should be able to go on entering new values into the text field and you should be able to retain and display all the previously entered values..
and finally the list of added items are not stored in the database..
If this is the case
i. Your html form should be submitted to the same page.
ii. You need to have a Vector which holds the entered values.
iii. Bind the vector object to the request object and collect the same vector object from the request and display its contents...

Is there an easy way to see how many rows in a table? (selected or unselected)

Hi all,
Forgive me if this is a REALLY dumb question but I would love to know if there there is an easy way to to see how many rows there are in a table in InDesign?
(And I bet I am really going to kick myself when I hear the answer and how simple it probably is..lol !)
I am working on a huge catalog and am dealing with LOTS of tables...very long tables too at times. I am also doing a lot of copying and pasting back and forth between InDesign and Excel and it would REALLY help if I knew how many rows there are in a table without having to manually count them (TIRESOME!!).
Also, is there a way to see how many rows I have selected at any one time? It would be SO WONDERFUL if the info box could also provide this information.

You need not select whole rows, just one or a couple of cells.
Then run the script.
An alert message is telling you how many rows belong to the cell range you have selected and:
which rows of the table are selected…
A typical message would be:
6 row(s) selected.
3 to 8 out of 20 of current table.
The script does some basic checks of the selection.
If no cell or table is selected, it will just do nothing…

Two radio buttons in a single row of a table

Hi All,
Can we have two radio buttons in a single row of ADF TABLE.
My requirement is that i have a list of submitted records. The user can approve or reject the records.
All the records are displayed in the table. there will be two columns in the table(Approve , Reject) The user can approve the first record and reject the second record and so on....
using table selectOne we can select only one row. Using radio buttons how to select the multiple records, at the same time grouping is done between the two columns(radio buttons) in the table

I don't think that you can do this with radio buttons. The usecase is more for chackboxes. It would have been a usecase for radio buttons if there was a single column with 3 possible options
- pending
- approved
- rejected

How to find middle row in a table ?

Solution: sort the rows in order to create an ordered
sequence and then there will be a "middle row".Well, not quite.
If there are an odd number of rows then, yes, there will be a middle row in an ordered sequence, however if there is an even number of rows then the middle is between two rows... or... you could take it as the two rows either side of the middle....

Ok! I have 2 jsp, the input jsp and display.jsp! Once i input value on input.jsp, it will display on display.jsp. I have also my javascript named updateBin.js. Now, how can i update each row once i clicked it... the succeeding rows and columns..hope u help me with this..here is my code:

this code only updates the first row and column..but the succeeding panel row and panel column can't update...what will i do? theres something wrong in my javascript or in my jsp...pls help me......thanx.....in advance!!

Is this with the Travel database or another database?
If it's another database then make sure your columns
allow nulls. To check this in the Server Navigator, expand
your DataSource down to the column.
Select the column and view the Is Nullable property
in the Property Sheet
