Wikis migrated not pages 10.6.8 10.7.2
Migrating wikis from 10.6.8 > 10.7.2 gives me quite a headache.
None of my content of the wikis is migrated using the following:
Copying the old Wiki folder /Library/Collaboration to /tmp/Collaboration on the upgraded server.
Starting Webservice and Wikiservice using Server.app

You can see that it imports 0 pages, only 7 wikis and 2 users. All the wikis that are imported show up, but none have any content.
I have a clone I made before upgrading running in a VM showing all the pages effortless.
Any help so I don't have to copy all the content manually would be appreciated.
The 10.7.3 combined server update fixed the biggest part of the issue.
The wikis are imported now with pages, the only thing I miss now are the attachments and I reckon it has to do with this line:

But it isn't that much work to add the attachments again.

Changes not reflected on the page after migrating the page to server
Hi all,
I have migrated a page to server after making some adding a messageTextInput field but the changes are not getting reflected.
I followed the following steps to migrate the page:
1. Copied the page.xml from local machine to server.
2. Ran the below import command :

It has my messageTextinput field info. But I can't see it on front end. Even though when I run the page from my jdev I am able to see that field.
Plz guide me if I am missing anything.

Go to 'about this page' from front end and check the path for this PG.xml and compare that path with the one that you are importing.
As per my understanding, if this is a custom page, then the path you are using is not correct.

Ok. Most wiki migration updates will likely appear in this thread. I will try to centralize them here so that the community wont have to look all of the place for information.
I will post links to the mailing list when possible, for some of the more important information and updates. Posting links helps reduce the need for me repeating myself, but still allows those not subscribed to the list to know what is going on (although I recommend subscription for those of you interested in seeing another facet of arch).

I just did a snapshot of the wiki, and did a conversion (as outlined in section 2.4 of the rfp), and the result was 439 wiki pages. There are approximately 31019 lines of text contained in those pages (cat * | wc -l).
Of those, there are user pages, junk pages, and probably some spam pages.
I might take a look through some of them to get an idea what a reasonable workload expectation for a single "job" would be. I initially thought a 10 page chunk would be good..if anyone is interested in taking a look at the results of the initial conversion, the results are located here:

Wiki Migration-ML to Mavericks-At my wits end. Need working steps.
Today I did my nth attempt at upgrading our mountain lion server by first trying the upgrade on a clone of the server. For the nth time - no success.
Folks, I've been been trying off and on for months to upgrade our MacMini Server with Mountain Lion Server to Mavericks server, but the wiki and calendar migration have prevented me from doing so. Meanwhile the rest of our machines in the office are on Mavericks. This also means I can't use Server. app 3 on my Mavericks machine to manage the server since the server is on Mountain Lion Server.
I've tried Apple's documentation (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5697)- gets "postgres_server:error = "CANNOT_START_SERVICE_ERR"" before finishing steps and a "could not connect to database template1: could not connect to server: No such file or directory" error
I've tried various steps outlined on user posts; particularly this great outline (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5751873) - didn't work.
pg_dumps, restores, FileData copy/pastes - you name it - still no go.
I called Apple some time ago and their folks were no help whatsoever.
I am just absolutely baffled that Apple would make it this difficult to migrate collaboration data. Did I mention Calendar didn't work either.
Even moreso at this point it almost seems like I am just stuck with OS X server at 10.8.5
Not that anyone wants to post on yet another discussion about Wiki Migration, but my hope is that somewhere along this thread will be a [relatively] simple and concrete outline for a successful migration of the wiki data. Feel free to add steps to other collab services that don't migrate so easily.
Thanks folks.Sadly, without seeing all the logs and the process, I don't have a solution for your wiki data. Generally speaking the pg_dumps are the way I go. But I will make a suggestion regarding calendar.
In all cases so far, I've simply not tried to update the calendar. Instead, I've had users export calendars to a file on their workstations and then, once the server has been rebuilt/replaced, have them import the calendar data back into an empty, fresh instance of the the calendar store. Now, this is easy to administrate if you have under 20 users. But once you hit 50, it gets a bit more difficult because the law of averages states that there will be at least one user who can't follow directions in a timely fashion.
Now, I also tend to avoid upgrade attempts like they were a contagious disease. Unless I am forced with physical violence, I will always created another server along side the production system and move services. This allows for a clean everything. The upgrade process of OS X Server has never been smooth. I can recall a 10.4.x to 10.6.x upgrade that still makes me twitch.

How to view new comments on Wiki or Blog Pages?
I am trying to find a way (either via RSS, via Email or via a custom search) to be able to identify OSX Server Wiki- and Blog-pages with new comments easily. Unfortunately this seems to be somewhat of a problem, since most searches I tried do not include comments. Plus, I could not figure out if there is a RSS feed for new comments on posts (the usual RSS feeds do not include the comments on the pages). Does anybody know a way to get this working with the 10.5 Server Collaboration tools?

FlohI have searched this forum extensively and found lots of people with the same issues.. but no solutions. It seems like this just might not be possible with the Server Wiki. If anyone does find a solution I would love to hear what it is!
In the meantime.. I have been telling users to add a comment, then click the edit button, add the text "Comment Added" as the comment about the page edit, and then click save. This makes it so that the page has been "updated" and will show up in an RSS feed with the title "Comment Added". It is a silly solution and adds extra time and complexity for people.. but so far it is the best solution I have come up with. -

a few issues all relating to AD/Exchange Setup, Causeing migration issues.
quick overview:
1. installed new server (Server 2012 R2), installed exchange 2013 install completed properly, issues logging into ecp and owa, ssl certs werent created, created manually didnt solve. - scrapped that server deleted from adsi exchange administration servers
(time spent troubleshooting was 5 days)
2. fixed ca issues, re-installed server installed exchange 2013, /preparead ,system mailboxes created migration mailbox created, create mailbox db, system mailboxes are there if checked with get-mailbox -arbitration
Try to migrate, migration mailbox not found in organization (accounts were there, made sure change user password on logon was not ticked on the account and never expire was ticked, account was disabled like it should be too so no go.
delete all system accounts from ad, recreate with /preparead, enable them according to articles:

get-mailbox -arbitration found all mailboxes, check w/o -arbitration and discovery mailbox was there too.
3. Tried migration again no errors in ecp, migration not starting, encountered above error id's

Even if you think re-installation is annoyed, I still suggest perform the re-installation.
Because fix this issue also annoyed.
Remove the Exchange server and use ADSIedit to clear it up.
Also remove the Windows server 2012 from AD.
Then re-install Windows server 2012 and Exchange 2013 server via articles from TechNet.

Moshe.Time machine's backups tend to leave out unimportant things like caches and logs -- which is fine, except that it also leaves out some log folders, which must exist for the service to create its logs in. Fortunately, it's not hard to recreate them; see [this message|http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=10954325#10954325] for the procedure (and how to fix a permissions problem you might also have).

Upgrade to 10.6.7 videos in wiki can not be displayed
After upgraded server from Mac OSX snowlepoard server 10.6.4 to 10.6.7,all the videos in wiki can not be played,if upload new videos to wiki,it also can not be played,who have the similar experience?
Upgrade from 10.6.1 to 10.6.7 and having this same issue. The thumbnail for the video is present, but when it is clicked on, nothing happens. The video will play if you visit the page locally on the server, but nowhere else.

Profile Manager - Not Found The requested URL /wiki was not found on this server.
I have installed Lion Server with Web and Profile Manager services. When I log into the profile manager web page I receive the message "Not Found The requested URL /wiki was not found on this server." I followed the guide here for install http://krypted.com/iphone/setting-up-profile-manager-in-lion-server/.
This was the fixed I found
Fixing profile manager has been solved by someone else:
1. Turn off all services under Server app.
2. Under Hardware, settings, change SSL certificate to "none"
3. Under Hardware, network, reset host name again.
4. Under Hardware, settings, change SSL certificate back to correct one
5. Turn Web service ON.
It may still say /var/empty.
6. Turn Wiki service ON
7. Recheck Web service. It should be changed to /Library/Server/Web/Data/Sites/Default. -
Export to Text file does not page
Since I applied SP 7 for Crystal 9, when I export a report to a text file it does not page and print the report header on each page. It prints the report header once and one lone continuous page of information. My report was export to text with a page header on each page before I applied the service pack. How do I get it to page in the text export and print the page header on each page?
In 8.5 the default behavior of the export to text was to not paginate. With 9 you have a paginate option when you manually export data to text, however when processing in batch

Captivate 5.5 Is it possible to import PPT slides in Notes Page view?
Hello experts,
This may seem like an odd question. I'd like to display all the notes in the page of a PowerPoint deck that provides samples of code and explaintions of what the code is doing. It is too much information for the slide, which just has discussion point bullets, and I think it is too much for the closed caption pane. It this possible to import PPT slides in Notes Page view?

PI found an alternative but circuitous way of achieving the desired result. In PowerPoint I opened, then I printed the PPT presentationto a PDF selecting the Notes Page option instead of Full Slide. By then using a PDF converter to convert it back to PPT I was able to insert the PPT as is. In other words it "looks" just like the PPT Notes Page view, which is exactly what I wanted. The code snippet and notes were intact.

If deleting a note page from your note apps by mistake is there anyway of retreiving it without going through iTunes or iCloud. This is the new age of technology and there should be a deleted bin as in most computers or websites. There must be a way..
There is no undelete facility on the iPad, when you delete something then unless the app itself has an undelete option (which the built-in Notes app hasn't) then it is gone. If it was on the iPad when you last backed up then you could try restoring to the backup, but you would need to restore the whole iPad, you can't just do a single app.

You mentioned you tried some steps but I'm not sure what they are, you may try my suggestion to resolve this issue, follow these steps:
Click Start, right-click Computer, click
Properties, and then click Advanced system settings.
On the Advanced tab, click Environment Variables.
Locate and select the __COMPAT_LAYER variable, and then click Edit.
Set the value of the __COMPAT_LAYER variable to EnableThemes. Or, delete the __COMPAT_LAYER variable.
If the issue persists, we can troubleshoot this problem in Clean Boot to determine whether background programs are interfering with PowerPoint:

MS Powerpoint 2010 Notes Pages and Acrobat 9 Pro
Does anyone have a print solution that allows Notes pages print in Acrobat 9 Pro? Blank pages print or the notes only and not the slide will print. We made a mistake by upgrading our whole department to MS Office 2010, not knowing that Acrobat (which is what we used to prepare our printed material) is NOT compatible with MS Office 2010. I saw that we "have to wait for the next version of Acrobat"? We need help! Does anyone have a solution?
Found a solution! Adobe support confirmed that since Office 2010 came out after Acrobat 8 or 9, it has not been tested and the PDF creator in powerpoint will not print notes pages. We used Bullzip PDF creater (http://www.bullzip.com/products/pdf/info.php) a free download. This is an available print option from within powerpoint afer you install the small file. This DID print the Notes pages correctly. After its initial creation, any additional .PDF work is being down from within Acrobat 9 (headers, footer, creating a Portfolio, etc.).

PowerPoint 2007 Notes Pages to PDF = low quality
We're battling a problem here where, when printing a presentation's notes pages from PowerPoint 2007 to PDF, the result has very jagged, low quality font edges. However when printing the same presentation from PowerPoint 2003, the fonts are smooth and perfect. The same result occurs making a PDF with PDF Creator, Nuance PDF Professional 5, etc. BUT, when we print the presentation's notes pages directly to the printer (a Xerox 6060 in this case), the presentation looks perfect as well.
Because of this, I can't tell where to start looking for help, here or Microsoft. I want to think that PowerPoint 2007 is outputting garbage to the PDF Maker, but like I said, when I print the notes pages directly to the printer, it looks fine.
Is there anyone experienced out there that can help shed some light on this issue please?I assume that 2007 and 2003 of PPT were on different machines. I suspect it is either in the setup of PPT or you are not embedding fonts in the PDF. Be sure you are NOT using the Standard settings file, but select Print or Press.

Sorry if this has been asked here before but I've been having lots of trouble with my Macbook Pro lately and I'm not sure what to do. It keeps restarting all the time and I've noticed that it mostly occurs while I'm using the Type Tool in Photoshop.
