Will it work with new processor? 1801 error

the system shows the 1801 error (shows more, but this is the only important)
i have a Pentium D 925 installed, but the motherboard only supports 940, 950 and 960 Pentium D processors.
in the screen i press F1 to continue booting
windows (win7 ultimate 64 bit) stays in the "Starting windows" screen and doesn't boot to desktop
will it work with a supported processor?

Altec InMotion . . . will it work with newer iPods?

Got my iPod stolen. I had the old 60 or 80 gig monochrome screen white iPods. try to find them on eBay but it shows every iPod ever made and don't know how to specify the one I have.
Getting a new one, apart from being unnecessary, is all my peripherals (inMotion speakers and iTalk) and i don't know if they will work with newer iPods.
On inMotion since that's what I use the most, although the size of the "hole" is big like the older iPods the actual connector seems like it might just fit into the newer iPods. Online Altec says it fits various iPods but I have no way of knowing if it's my same unit they're referring to or a new one.
Also, if anyone knows how you identify that earlier iPod (bought in 03-04) for eBay searches, I've gone through pages and haven't found a single one like mine.

Many add-ons work only with a particular range of Firefox versions. After the upgrade, Firefox will attempt to find new compatible versions. This is not always possible.
To determine whether an add-on you can't live without has a version for Firefox 11, you can check the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/ Add-ons site] or try this add-on to make that a little easier (I haven't tried it myself): [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/is-it-compatible/ Is It Compatible? :: Add-ons for Firefox].
By the way, many recent posts report problems with Skype add-ons, so you might want to research here if you notice any strange copy/paste problems.

Will ADB work with new equipment?

I have a 15 year old Appledesign ADB keyboard that I would like to use with my brand new i5 21.5" iMac running OSX 10.7.2 Lion. Will an ADB to USB adaptor work? I see most of the Adaptors work with older version of OSX like 10.2, but no info on Lion.

iTunes 11 works with all model iPods.
If you have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears. and Control+B to show the Menu bar

T42 will not work with new wireless router

Purchased a new router, works great with my T61 and x200 but not with my older T42. The old router worked fine with all 3 thinkpad computers. I am told that the T42 has only an 11mps modemcard inside, and therefore I am out of luck. I have to purchase an external usb modem or slow down the router for the other machines. Is there nothing I can do with my T42 settings to get onto this new router? Steve

Posting the 7-character model number of your T42 would help a lot...
You can replace the wireless card with a newer bg or abg one, and it should work fine with a newer router.

Library Update Fails, Itunes will not work with new 9.0 update

I just recently updated the Itunes software.
Since doing it, when I plug my Ipod 180 gig into my computer, or just try to open Itunes, the Library starts to update
I can do nothing else and then when it finishes, it fails.
Itunes closes and I am back to square one.
WHY?!?!?!
It was fine before I updated. Everything was running smooth.
This new update is messed up!!
What do I need to do to fix this issue??

OK - to answer my own question, Apple recommend 8.2.1, but you can install 9.1.1 and it will run on a G3. Very slowly. Looks like this is the only option. Get it here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1036. You need OSX 10.4.11 or later though....

Original message posted about a week ago - I have an iMac, OS is 10.4.11. I just updated my Quicktime software to 7.5, I also updated my iTunes to 8.2.1 (I think, it is definitely higher than 8.0). When I would open up iTunes. I would get this message. (We could not complete your iTunes Store request. The iTunes Store is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later). This was happening before I did the current downloads. I had no trouble about 3-4 weeks ago. I was able to get into the iTunes store and download song. I am pretty annoyed to say the least. Apple makes it so difficult to get information, unless you do endless searches. Trying to contact customer service is a whole other nightmare. They offer this software for free, yet they want you to pay for everything. As you can imagine, I am not happy and venting is helping. So I am hoping there are some other people out there with similar problems who can help. Nothing has been changed or altered on my computer. I have no problem connecting to the internet. No passwords or ID's have been changed. As mentioned I updated my software to the highest, most current software available that my operating system can handle. Updated message 12/9/10 - I updated my iTunes version to 9.2.1. Now my iTunes will not open. When I do try to open it, It says that this program will only work with G4, and G5 processors. You may need many other updates to retain compatibility with Lion. I suggest you reinstall Snow Leopard. Unfortunately, you will need to erase the drive first. Be sure to backup your data if you haven't done so already.
Clean Install of Snow Leopard
Be sure to make a backup first because the following procedure will erase
the drive and everything on it.
     1. Boot the computer using the Snow Leopard Installer Disc or the Disc 1 that came
         with your computer. Insert the disc into the optical drive and restart the computer.
         After the chime press and hold down the "C" key. Release the key when you see
         a small spinning gear appear below the dark gray Apple logo.
     2. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue
         button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
         After DU loads select the hard drive entry from the left side list (mfgr.'s ID and drive
         size.) Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window. Set the number of
         partitions to one (1) from the Partitions drop down menu, click on Options button
         and select GUID, click on OK, then set the format type to MacOS Extended
         (Journaled, if supported), then click on the Apply button.
     3. When the formatting has completed quit DU and return to the installer. Proceed
         with the OS X installation and follow the directions included with the installer.
     4. When the installation has completed your computer will Restart into the Setup

Get a Virtual Macine software program, Parallels, VMware Fusion or VirtualBox, and install XP in a virtual machine.
You can't install XP in a Boot Camp Partition with Lion or Mt Lion, only Win 7.

I have a G5 Power Mac with dual 1.8 processors. I recently upgraded the software fro 10.4.11 to 10.5.8 in order to get an iPad 2. Now my Adobe Photoshop 7 won't work any longer. All the newer Phtoshop versions only work with Intell processors. Does anyone

I believe I had this issue with PS7 when I first upgraded from OS 9 to OS X 10.2 Jaguar.
Couldn't get PS 7 to launch at all.
I ended up having to update all of my Adobe apps to the CS edition to be sure every Adobe app functioned without a hitch.
I am not sure where you'll find older versions of Adobe software, though.
You could try and contact Adobe direct to see if they have any older versions on disc left in stock or not.
Short or that I really do not know.
PS CS 4 was the last universal version that works with PPC Macs.
Pixelmator used to be available for 10.5 Leopard, but it's no longer available for PPC Macs, either.

You need to install X11 in order to use this app.
If you installed 10.5, you'll need to check your Applications folder to see if X11 was installed by default.
If not you'll need to go back to your OS X 10.5 install discs and do a custom install and just install X11 from disc.
This will just add the additional program and extensions and will not erase your installation of OS X 10.5.

Add-ons contain a range of compatible Firefox versions, and Firefox honors the listed range by disabling the add-on if you are trying to run it on an unlisted version.
I'm sure Yahoo! will update its toolbar eventually, but not every add-on maker supports beta versions of software.
