Will the U430 Touch recognize 16GB of RAM?
I love this laptop with 8GB, but am a heavy user that needs lots of RAM.

Advice would be most welcome.

I’m sorry to inform you that the maximum RAM/Memory that is supported up to 8GB and 16GB is not compatible with this Laptop model. Below is the image with the exact specifications of the RAM:

The only 4g iPod new stock for sale now is the 16gb iPod touch. As this is an entirely new configuration, it's possible that they have decided to sell it for a while longer. In any case, only Apple knows for sure and even they may not have decided yet.

Chances are the 2g itouch will not be included in the update. Also no one yet knows if it will be fixed in the next firmware but apple has said they know of this bug.

I doubt it.
All the iOS devices compatible (iPhone 4 and later, iPad 2 and later, and 5G iPod touch) with iOS 7 have at least 512 MB of memory. The 4G only has 256 MB
iOS 6.1.4 was only for the iphone 5 to correct a problem on that device only.

6.1.4 latest version of iOS 6 for the iPhone 5
After that Apple released the beta of iOS 7 and then the final (7.0)

Apple has not announced any new iPod models, and until they do none of us here, who are all fellow users, will have any idea. In the past, any new models of the iPod touch were announced in the fall, but whether Apple will continue this pattern or indeed if they have plans for any future new iPod touch models at all is unknown. We'll just have to wait and see.
