An "other" that large usually indicates that the "other" includes corrupted files. Usually restoring from backup eliminated the corrupted files. However, sometimes restoring to factory settings/new iPod is required.

1. Make sure iPad is using the latest software
2. Settings>General>Date and Time>Set Automatically>On

Take it to an Apple store. Most likely you will have to get a replacement for which you will be charged the replacement fee.

I can't open any app when I turn the computer on. Mouse has batteries and the screen freezes on 1 app (BBCiplayer) , which obviously is the cause. How can I get rid of this app?

Can you keep extra songs on your iPod that are not in your iTunes library, and not lose these songs every time you want to delete something from your iPod in the future?

I have all these songs that I want to store on my iPod but not on my computer, and I know that by choosing to manually manage my music I can still hang on to these songs when I add new songs to my iPod. However, what if I want to delete songs off of my iPod in the future? Will I lose all of the extra music that is on my iPod but not my computer, due to the fact that the only way to delete songs seems to be by syncing?

The answer to the question in the title of the thread is yes, but it is not necessarily a good idea. At some point you are likely to find you need to restore your iPod for one reason or another, or it could be lost, stolen or damaged. If your songs aren't on your computer, and backed up too, then you will be less than happy.

After foolishly loading a desktop feature for "PANDORA RADIO" I now cannot use fIREFOX. The screen only goes to "PANDORA" and is unusable......How do I get rid of "PANDORA"?

Upon trying to open FIREFOX, the screen displays a blue PANDORA RADIO radio screen and does nothing else and I cannot use my FIREFOX. This the rusult of ADD-on for my google home page. The problem has been resolved for me. I am a little fuzzy on how it got fixed.
I only have 3G, so I think I went to the library to use wi-fi.
I think I just deleted the stuck apps, and the downloaded them again. You do not have to pay again when you download a previously purchased app.
It is now August, and fortunately I have not had any stuck apps lately.
As you may already know, you cannot download an app over 20 MB via 3G.
I have the Kindle app also. No new updates lately. I only bought one thing using Kindle. It was a guide to iPad that was only $1.99 or so, but it did not really have anything that cannot be found in normal free Apple guide.
I have borrowed an ebook from the library using Overdrive app. You can choose the ebook version from Kindle.
I don't have any weather apps.

Apple will only give you a 10% discount if you turn that one in and purchase the new one.
I do not know if the WalMart warranty covers accidental damage like a broken screen.

It could be a software issue. I would reinstall the OS. You don't have to lose or reinstall any apps from archive and install. This way, your user folder remains intact but you get a fresh copy of the OS.

What model iPod do you have? If yo have a 2G iPod. many developers when they updated their apps to support iOS 5 and 6 dropped compatibility for iOS 4.2.1 and earlier.

There's been a problem with this all day. Seems to be a server problem - wait a day and try again, or use itunes on the computer to update, that works.
