WLS - MDB & Credential Mappings
Hi all,
I've an EAR application that contains some MDB EJBs and for MDB authentication I configured for each of them the Credential Mappings tab under Security section.
It works well. For the configuration I used the WLS console but now I need to automatize this process. I've stored those credential mappings info in a properties file and I'm trying to find out how to use WLST to create/update directly the MDB credential mappings.
Do you sugget to do that in a different way without using WLST ? We have different environments where we have to promote the sw and doing that manually could introduce mistakes ...
Do you have any example or hint ?

I am in a situation where i have the MDB trying to read messages from secure foreign jms . The ejb-jar and weblogic-jar.xml has the right values like

2) Each MDB deployed as part of the ear file - I need to perform the credential Mapping - Means
EJB Component Credential Mappings - create a WLS user of the name CFAMJMS and supply the Remote JMS User Name and Password .
Today , i perform the setp 2 ) using the Weblogic Admin Console . Need to automate the same using wlst script . Please helpHi,

Could you please check if your TIBCO EMS is ssl enabled .Login on TIBCO EMS using putty and then type show config and check for the following parameter ssl_server_identity ,ssl_server_key . Go to the path mentioned in these two properties and see if the certificate with .pem is present there.
As you are getting following error in the log
Caused by: javax.jms.JMSSecurityException: Can not initialize SSL client: no trusted certificates are set
In TIBCO we need trusted store .pem certificate to make it ssl enabled.

Accounts Credential Mappings Vs ACL, Programmatic approach
Hello All,
Using Accounts or ACL. I want to know which suits better, below are my requirements:
I have 4 level folder structure. Each subfolder(till leaf) should be secured.
I need to automate all this folder permissions using GUI. Build some background process to populate permissions.
Lets say ACL, I give Role1: Folder1, Folder2, Folder3.... I should make use of RIDC and populate role1 in all given folders.
Lets say Accounts. I define one account per each folder and assign all these accounts to a role in credential mapping file.
How to achieve both through RIDC or any other means? And is ACL a performance deal breaker in the case?
I came across this post https://forums.oracle.com/thread/2543975 which talks about programatically accessing the credential mapping. In my case credential mapping can run into as many lines as folders. In order to change a single line, do i need to retrieve the whole content and manipulate .. and then call the service to upload new mappings?
Thoughts please?

Define Accounts and groups in the LDAP - Yes
Group - Accounts mapping will happen in the LDAP - By groups do you mean Security Groups, if so the Security Groups will be defined in UCM. Only Accounts and Roles will have to be managed in LDAP.
we just need to map the accounts from LDAP to accounts in UCM - We need not map. The Account that you create in LDAP can be assigned to a content item even if it is not present in UCM as a pre-defined account. This is the advantage we have. Make sure the user is part of the Account with right level of permission and assign it to the content. The user or users belonging to this Account will get access to the content.
Do we need to create those exact accounts again in UCM - No, explained above
Can we create accounts in embedded LDAP of the weblogic server - Yes. Check documentation for how to represent Role and Account as Weblogic supports Groups in general
May be this will simplify my solution further, I can define a generic format to map all my accounts for once and do not edit the credential mapping at all - This is exactly what I am trying to get at

Hi ,
I have an MDB deployed under WLS6.1 which is listening to a WLS
JMS Queue and the MDB(which calls a MQ Client) has to deliver the
message to MQ Server once it recieves a message from WLS JMS Queue .
Now how do I enable the JDBC store to take the messages which fail on
the MDB side assuming the MQ Server is failing and the MDB should
retry it again. Or what is the best solution in this scenario without
using any transactional object . Any suggestions pls about .

Approach One:
Could you have a three bridges all reading the queue, one for each target MQ server?
This would not be fail-over, but may solve your problem - as it is high-availability.
(Bridges automatically attempt reconnect on failure.)
Approach Two:
Could you forward the message using error destinations, this
is a feature in 6.1 that redirects recovered or rolled back messages
to an error destination:
Q1, error dest is ERROR1, set redeliveryLimit to 0
ERROR1 error dest is ERROR2, set redeliveryLimit to 0
ERROR2 error dest is ERROR3, set redelivery limit to 0
MDB on Q1 goes to MQ queue A
MDB on ERROR1 goes to MQ queue B
MDB on ERROR3 goes to JDBC

i have the problem, that i have to delegate a user (form WebSphere - MQMD.UserIdentifier) to a MDB.
My requirement is, that the MDB runs under the user specified by the MQ Field.

Using WLST to set up credential mapping on JDBC Data Source
I am wanting to write a script (WLST) to set up a large initial set of credential mappings on a JDBC data source.
I can create the datasource and do all the basic set ups, but I can't figure out how to do the credential mappings.
I tried the "record" option from the Admin console, but it created a script that says that credential mappings are not recorded.
This is the mapping function that you get to from the "Security" tab on the DataSource page, and then the "Credential Mappings" tab. This allows you to map a "WLS user" to a "remote user" - which in my case is an Oracle OLS user.
I am using Weblogic 10.3
Can anyone point me to a set of commands which can perform this function?
Thanks!I wonder if there isn't a publicly visible MBean for the credential mapping. That would explain why the recorded script doesn't have the mbean method invocations.

I am trying to use MDB for importing files.I followed the Weblogic_jms_Integration(1308181.1) document and i created all the xml files CM_config.xmCM_ejb-jar.xml.wls.jms_1.includel.win.exit_4.include,CM_config.xml.win.jms.include,CM_ejb-jar.xml.wls.mdb.include,CM_weblogic-ejb-jar.xml.jms.include and put these files in respective directory as mentioned in the document.I have created one XAI inbound service ,XAI JNDI Servers,JMS Connection,Jms Queue and i am putting my msgs in queue in web logic server.But it is nt picking files from queues.It is showing some errors like:

Table CI_XAI_JNDI_SVR has a maintenance program entry CIPXJSVR that is not found in the program components table
I think here MDB is nt enabling thats why it is not picking the files from queue.
But we are able to pick that files from queue by MPL.
Please help me in this regards.

I was trying to configure the Apps adapter on WLS (10.3.4) following Metalink Note: 974949.1. I completed all the steps for WLS server, but when I try to re-start the server, i get the following error and the server fails to start:

AshishI was able to start the server. Following the Metalink note, I had tried to configure JAAS on weblogic server (created a new realm, role-mapper etc).
When I commented the below code in C:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\base_domain1\config\config.xml, the server started.

No Lock & Edit button in WLS 10 Console
I don't have the Lock & Edit button in the WLS 10 Console. I know that this could be turned on and off in previous versions of WebLogic in the config.xml file, but I didn't find this anywhere in the documentation anymore.
Can anybody tell me how to make the Lock & Edit buton visible again in WebLogic 10.3a?

Using Saml token profile 1.1 with WLS 10.3
Hi All
I am a Student from IITB. I am trying use message-level authentication for webservices using SAML Token Profile 1.1 on weblogic 10.3. I have done the necessary configuration but I am getting an error
"Unable to add Security Token for Identity ". I Started the SamlCredMapper Debug flag on from the console and saw the logs and I saw that everything is going fine untill at one place it
gives this error

I do not know how to fix this problem. Please Tell me if anyone has any idea about it.

Created weblogic domain, but can't start on wls 10, using config.sh on linx
Here is the, I haven't done anything but run, the auto created startWebLogic.sh
don't know why it's screaming about the boot.properties being wrong, is there a specific variable I can see in the scripts to explicit set location .
I tried deleting, and recreated the domains so many times no luck, I don't know what I am doing wrong, first time starting out on weblogic 10
there is no managed server etc..

I have been reading your threads and have created the boot.properties file. I have placed in the following directory:
- /tezaam/apps/bea/user_projects/domains/xxx_domain/security
The boot.properties file contains two lines:
username=weblogic
password=weblogic
Question: Is is in the correct directory path or should it reside elsewhere as I am not using a nodemanager and start each AdminServer on its own.
Appreciate feedback.

Weblogic Admin server - Configuration/Server Start/Arguments ignored?

I'm trying to specify a http proxy for a WebLogic Admin Server in order for an application to access external resources. I've placed the settings into the "Server Configuration / Server Start / Arguments", and verified that they have been saved into the config/config.xml file for that domain:

As a test I created a new managed server in the same domain, specifying the same startup properties, and they were picked up during startup.
If I manually place the settings into the bin/setDomainEnv.cmd batch file for the domain they are also picked up and work.
Is there an undocumented restriction on Admin Servers that they ignore the "Server Start / Arguments" setting, or is there something else I can check as to why this is not working?

Itunes freezes when burning CDs
Similar post to others here. Since upgrade to IT 6, Itunes freezes when trying to burn some CDs. IT shows as "not-responding" in task manager. Seems to happen when burning CDs with newly downloaded tracks, perhaps in combination with imported tracks.
