WLST from ANT

Can I call WLST commands like stop servers start servers directly from ant without
having a create a start.py and stop.py ,this way I don't have to maintain multiple
files.
I tried it with <java classname="weblogic.WLST" fork="no"> but I was wonderng
how to give the arg line values like connect(....), start("server,Server") etc.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Anil

Hello Anil,
There are no built in WLST Ant tasks to do this. You should create the
scripts and invoke them via the Java call.
Thanks,

  • Unable to run WLST getMDSArchiveConfig from ANT

    I am having a problem using Ant to execute the setAppMetadataRepository WLST command. This command puts an entry in adf-config.xml that points to the MDS datasource.
    This is the ant task that I'm using. These commands work from the WLST tool, but when using them with Ant, I get the error below.
    <target name="setAppMetadataRepositoryUsingWlst">
    <wlst debug="true" failonerror="true">
    <script>
    archive = getMDSArchiveConfig(fromLocation='D:/JDEV/deploy/portal.ear')
    archive.setAppMetadataRepository(repository='mds-portalRepository',partition='Portal_v2', type='DB', jndi='jdbc/wcpcustom')
    archive.save()
    </script>
    </wlst>
    </target>
    Here is the error that I get (NameError: getMDSArchiveConfig). This is saying that getMDSArchiveConfig isn't a recognized command. Other commands (like connect(...)) work ok from ant, but not these MDS commands. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong here?

    Hi Timo, Thanks for the quick response.
    I have checked John's reply but there is no solution to it.
    The big question here is how to automate builds if the Weblogic installations do not support WLST to modify MDS configurations. We are very much into production now, and still Jdev builds are the process. We need to integrate with Hudson, but for it the above problem should be resolved.
    Please suggest a workaround if possible, there are a lot of posts on internet with the same problem but no solution..

  • Why this WLST script does not work from ant a task

    Hi,
              The following is my lovely WLST script to disable managed server hostname verification in a cluster environment.
              It works perfect if I run it from the OS command line,
              java -cp $WL_HOME/server/lib/weblogic.jar sslSetting.py weblogic weblogic t3://localhost:7001
              But if I run it from ant task, it never works. Nothing happens, not even any messages. Any idea?
              ------ sslSetting.py -----------
              # Disable HostnameVerification on managed servers
              # This is a ONLINE script. The admin server must be running
              # @param $1 BEA_USER_NAME
              # @param $2 BEA_USER_PWD
              # @param $3 admin server URL
              if (len(sys.argv) != 4):
              print "usage: " + sys.argv[0] + " domain-home "
              sys.exit()
              beaUserName=sys.argv[1]
              beaUserPwd=sys.argv[2]
              adminServerUrl=sys.argv[3]
              def handleServer(server):
              SSLPath="/Servers/" + server.getName() + "/SSL/" + server.getName()
              print("handleServer(1): " + SSLPath)
              try:
              cd (SSLPath)
              print("handleServer(2): " + SSLPath)
              set("HostnameVerificationIgnored", "true")
              except Exception, inst:
              dumpStack()
              print ("FAILED handleServer(): " + SSLPath)
              else:
              print ("DONE handleServer(): " + SSLPath)
              #===============================================================================
              # Main

              try:
              connect(beaUserName, beaUserPwd, adminServerUrl)
              edit()
              startEdit()
              adminServerName=cmo.getAdminServerName()
              for server in cmo.getServers():
              if adminServerName != server.getName():
              handleServer(server)

              activate()
              except Exception:
              dumpStack()
              else:
              print ("=== DONE ===")

    OK, when I run the WLST script from command java, I only need the weblogic.jar in the classpath. But I'll need a couple other jar file for it to work inside an ant target, as showing below.
              <target name="run-wlst">
              <java classname="weblogic.WLST" fork="true">
              <classpath>
              <pathelement path="${props.JAVA_HOME}/lib/tools.jar"/>
              <pathelement path="${props.WL_HOME}/server/lib/weblogic_sp.jar"/>
              <pathelement path="${props.WL_HOME}/server/lib/weblogic.jar"/>
              <pathelement path="${props.WL_HOME}/server/lib/webservices.jar"/>
              </classpath>
              <sysproperty key="weblogic.Home" value="${props.WL_HOME}" />
              <arg line="sslSetting.py weblogic weblogic t3://localhost:7001"/>
              </java>
              </target>

  • Compile project from Ant Task

    Hi,
    I saw that there are some Ant Tasks with the BPM, but couldn't find any task that is able to just compile and generate the .exp file of the proyect.
    We wanted to implement a continuous integration server that compile all the projects that we have (so we need to do this from the command line).
    Anyone know any way to do this?
    Thanks !
    Carlos

    Questions:
    So you have an external tool builder that is triggered by a build?
    Which build of Eclipse?
    What is the Ant perspective?
    Are you running the Ant build in the same VM as Eclipse? Which VM?
    What VM is being used from the commandline?

  • Launching the Flex debugger from ant

    I use an ant target like this:
                    <target name="launch">
                                    <echo>LAUNCH</echo>
                                                    <exec executable="${FLASHPLAYER_EXE}" errorproperty="trace.output">
                                                    <arg line="'${DEPLOY_DIR}\SellersApp.swf'" />
                                    </exec>
                    </target>
    to launch a swf in the debug flash player.
    I would like to launch the Flex debugger and make use of break points etc.  I tried replacing FLASHPLAYER_EXE with the path to Flex, but that tried to launch a new instance of Flex.  I looked at the Ant manual but could not work out how to address the running instance of Flex that launched Ant.
    I have been using the Builder configuration method used here:
    http://www.rozengain.com/blog/2008/04/24/flex-builder-ant-build-debug-console-output/
    But then I run into problems when I just try and run an Ant target independently - it insists on proceeding with the whole launch operation first.
    I posted a variation on the question here: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/578171 but I think I named it poorly and put it in the wrong forum - so apologies for cross posting.

    Unless Eclipse's debug/launch infrastructure is exposed to ant, I'm not sure how this is possible.
    However, using the command line debugger - fdb - should be possible from ant.
    Another developer has been trying to get this to work. You need to pass -unit to fdb and create a file called .fdbinit that has debugger commands in it.

  • How to start and stop Oracle Application Server from ANT

    How to start and stop Oracle Application Server and Web application from ANT
    Thanks in Advance.
    Mani

    Hi,
    You can use: startManagedWebLogic.sh, it is in your domain directory and you have to execute it in this way
    ./startManagedWebLogic.sh managedServerName http://adminServerHost:adminServerPort
    For instance, in my case I use:
    unixserv01:/webportal/domains/appServerWeb/bin>startManagedWebLogic.sh managedServ01 http://pelma3w3per01.mesaperu.next:7001
    You have to run it on the machine where the managed server was installed.
    Best regards,

    nothing ? that's weird, windows XP should prompt you to select the program you want to use in order to open Jar files (and give you this silly piece of advice to search the web for the appropriate program)
    you might want to check what program (if any) got associated with .jar extensions :
    in Windows Explorer : Tools => Folder Options => File Types

    SET WL_HOME=D:\bea_dev\weblogic92
    CALL "%WL_HOME%\server\bin\setWLSEnv.cmd"

    @echo CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%

    I will mention that WL_HOME is set as an environment variable to the value above. I also tried running the class through the <java> task to no avail.
    I appreciate any insight you can provide.
    Thanks.

    If you are on windows, the ant <exec> forks off another process using
    ::CreateProcess, so I think your <exec> command is setting up the
    environment in a different process than the process that wlst is being
    run from.
    See http://ant.apache.org/manual/CoreTasks/exec.html
    Have you tried doing the setWLSEnv.cmd before you run ant?

  • Cannot Start Service Bus Domain from ANT script

    Hi,
    I am preparing a script which buils service bus domain using wlst script and then makes a jar file of the newly build domain and transfer it to the target location where it need to run.
    Once the jar file is in target location is jar is expanded in a folder.
    The above mentioned process if working fine. If i try to start the domain from that location either by double clicking startWebLogic.cmd or from dos prompt it does start the domain wihtout any error.
    However if i try to start the domain from with the same ANT script either using <wlserver> or <java classname="weblogic.WLST"> using startServer ('AdminServer','mydomainname','weblogic','weblogic','t3://localhost:7001') the domain startup does start but failes with same weblogic.management.deployment exception.
    complaining about all alsb specific applications error i.e.
    java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.bea.wli.sb.init.MarkerAppListener/com.bea.wli.sb.init.FrameworkStarter ..... under weblogic.management.deloymentexception.
    had anyone manager to start domain like this? any help?
    thanks
    salman

    I faced a similar issue when all ALSB specific applications were failing with ClassNot Found error when the managed servers were started using node manager. This was fixed by setting up the right Server Classpath for the WLS server.
    The issue was fixed after setting up the CLASSPATH to use when starting up the server as below, where E:/APPS/STAGE/OSB103 is the BEA_HOME
    E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\patch_wlw1030\profiles\default\sys_manifest_classpath\weblogic_patch.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\patch_wls1030\profiles\default\sys_manifest_classpath\weblogic_patch.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\patch_cie670\profiles\default\sys_manifest_classpath\weblogic_patch.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\patch_alsb1031\profiles\default\sys_manifest_classpath\weblogic_patch.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\JROCKI~1\lib\tools.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\WLSERV~1.3\server\lib\weblogic_sp.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\WLSERV~1.3\server\lib\weblogic.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\modules\features\weblogic.server.modules_10.3.0.0.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\WLSERV~1.3\server\lib\webservices.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\modules\ORGAPA~1.5/lib/ant-all.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\modules\NETSFA~1.0_1/lib/ant-contrib.jar;;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\WLSERV~1.3\..\modules\features\osb.server.modules_10.3.1.0.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\osb_10.3\lib\flow\sb-flow.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\WLSERV~1.3\..\modules\com.bea.core.jaxen_1.0.1.0_1-1-1.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\osb_10.3\lib\version.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\osb_10.3\lib\alsb.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\osb_10.3\3rdparty\lib\j2ssh-ant.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\osb_10.3\3rdparty\lib\j2ssh-common.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\osb_10.3\3rdparty\lib\j2ssh-core.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\osb_10.3\3rdparty\lib\j2ssh-dameon.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\osb_10.3\3rdparty\classes;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\WLSERV~1.3\..\modules\com.bea.core.apache.commons.logging_1.1.0.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\osb_10.3\lib\transports\jca\jca-binding-api.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\osb_10.3\lib\transports\jca\bpm-infra.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\osb_10.3\lib\transports\E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\patch_wlw1030\profiles\default\sys_manifest_classpath\weblogic_patch.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\patch_wls1030\profiles\default\sys_manifest_classpath\weblogic_patch.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\patch_cie670\profiles\default\sys_manifest_classpath\weblogic_patch.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\patch_alsb1031\profiles\default\sys_manifest_classpath\weblogic_patch.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\JROCKI~1\lib\tools.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\WLSERV~1.3\server\lib\weblogic_sp.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\WLSERV~1.3\server\lib\weblogic.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\modules\features\weblogic.server.modules_10.3.0.0.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\WLSERV~1.3\server\lib\webservices.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\modules\ORGAPA~1.5/lib/ant-all.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\modules\NETSFA~1.0_1/lib/ant-contrib.jar;;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\WLSERV~1.3\..\modules\features\osb.server.modules_10.3.1.0.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\osb_10.3\lib\flow\sb-flow.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\WLSERV~1.3\..\modules\com.bea.core.jaxen_1.0.1.0_1-1-1.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\osb_10.3\lib\version.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\osb_10.3\lib\alsb.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\osb_10.3\3rdparty\lib\j2ssh-ant.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\osb_10.3\3rdparty\lib\j2ssh-common.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\osb_10.3\3rdparty\lib\j2ssh-core.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\osb_10.3\3rdparty\lib\j2ssh-dameon.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\osb_10.3\3rdparty\classes;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\WLSERV~1.3\..\modules\com.bea.core.apache.commons.logging_1.1.0.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\osb_10.3\lib\transports\jca\jca-binding-api.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\osb_10.3\lib\transports\jca\bpm-infra.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\osb_10.3\lib\transports\jca\log4j_1.2.8.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\osb_10.3\lib\transports\jca\xmlparserv2.jar;WL_HOME\server\ext\jdbc\oracle\orai18n.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\WLSERV~1.3\common\eval\pointbase\lib\pbclient57.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\WLSERV~1.3\server\lib\xqrl.jar;jca\log4j_1.2.8.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\osb_10.3\lib\transports\jca\xmlparserv2.jar;WL_HOME\server\ext\jdbc\oracle\orai18n.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\WLSERV~1.3\common\eval\pointbase\lib\pbclient57.jar;E:\APPS\STAGE\OSB103\WLSERV~1.3\server\lib\xqrl.jar;

    hello!
    I have developpe an animation with flash. before give it to othe person in order to use it, i would like to secure it by integrated a security module inside the software.Secure it from what? Being played? Copied? Deleted? Modified?
    Because, i am a java developper, i have choose Netbeans 6.1 to secure it.That has to be the most random thing I've read in some time.
    do you know how can i do to integrate my animation .swf inside my java class?Java can't play SWF files and Flash can't handle Java classes, so what you're suggesting here doesn't make a lot of sense.

  • Using variables in WLST Script ant task

    I have multiple scipts that are run using ant tasks, however, I do not want to have to enter the password every time one of these scripts is executed. Instead I would like to use the following ant task to store the password in a variable/property:
    <target name="getPassword" >
         <echo message="Domain: ${domain}" />
    <echo message="Username: system" />
    <input message="Please enter password:" addproperty="password" />
    </target>
    I would then like to use that variable/property everytime a script is executed like this:
         <target name="deploy4x">
              <echo message="***** Copying 4X.ear *****" />
              <copy file="${build.path}\jar\4X.ear" todir="${apps.dir}" preservelastmodified="true"/>
              <echo message="***** Updating 4X.ear on ${domain} *****"/>
              <wlst debug="true" fileName="Deploy4X.py" executeScriptBeforeFile="true" failonerror="true" >
                   <script>
                        connect('system','%s' % ${password},'%s' % $url)
                   </script>
              </wlst>
         </target>
    However, the script blows up every time I try to run it b/c of the connect() line. I have also tried connect('system','%s' % password, '%s' % url).
    Has anyone else successfully used variables in an Ant WLST Script task?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    when I use *XDIM_MEMBERSET ACCOUNT AS %TEST% = BAS(REVENUE) - it work fine.
    BUT ! after my first commit, it seems like the variable value is lost. And the *Xdim_memberset takes all.....
    Fortunately enough, *select still contains the variable value after *commit.
    Thanks,
    Joergen
    *Correction !
    It actually works, it still contains the variable value after commit !!

  • How to convert from Ant project to maven project?

    Hi, all:
    Sorry for my entry-level question. Is it possible for me to convert from an Ant project to A Maven project from within NetBeans IDE?
    Or, is there any method to convert from an Ant project to a Maven project using some command line method? Or, any standard method to do so?
    Best Regards
    Pei

    any standard method to do so?Yes, use your brain. Learn ANT, learn Maven, write the new poms yourself so that you get the same results as your ANT script will provide. You cannot convert because ANT is a build tool and Maven is not; they have different purposes in life with only a small area of overlap. Asking for a converter is futile at best.
    Note that Maven does have an antrunner task; anything special you do in ANT that is not available in Maven you can still facilitate by invoking ANT using Maven.
