Workaround for missing ADF Faces Cache taglib

I've downloaded Steve's migrated version of SRdemo (http://otn.oracle.com/products/jdev/tips/muench/1013srdemo/SRDemoSampleADFBC_migrated_to_11g_otn3.zip) and am trying to run it on JDev 11g TP3. However it couldn't find the ADF Faces Cache taglib in the afc.jar file that is deployed within the UserInterface project as it looks for a D:\temp... path.
A workaround for this is to:
* go to UserInterface "Project Properties...", choose JSP Tag Libraries: "ADF Faces Cache 1.0" will be shown in red as it references jar:file:/D:/temp/SRDemoSampleADFBC/UserInterface/public_html/WEB-INF/lib/afc.jar!/META-INF/afc.tld
* delete the red "ADF Faces Cache 1.0"
* click "Add", "User" folder at top, then click "New" button.
* navigate to the directory where your SRDemo project is stored and then UserInterface/public_html/WEB-INF/lib/afc.jar - then click OK.
* it calls this "ADF Faces Cache [1] 1.1" - select this and click OK, then save the project properties.
You should now see ADF Faces Cache [1] 1.1 in the list - I'm assuming this is a new version of afc.jar not yet bundled with JDev 11g.
HTH. Any comments or alternative suggestions welcome!

  • Workaround for missing AirPlay ability after iOS6 update

    Using iPad open music app and stream a song to AirPlay for a couple of seconds, then switch to YouTube and play your video and it will stream to Apple TV.

    I have been having the problem a lot of people have mentioned here, airplay with audio but no video.  This suggestion is a good workaround.  I also found that when sending video by airplay and there is no picture, if I drag the timeline back to the beginning airplay will work properly.

  • Configure ADF-Faces project

    Hi,
    I have a project developed with ADF-Faces. I've copied it and pasted in another computer. This other computer has installed jdev 10.1.3.4, same version used for developing, and loaded the project without problems, aparently. When I tried to buil the project I have compilation errors due to missing libraries. I went to the web project's properties and found at the Libraries options that all ADF-Faces related entries have problems and can't be found, and, when opening files that use ADF-Faces objects imports can't be resolved. JSP pages won't find the tag libraries. How can I fix this problem?
    Any help is mostly welcome. Thanks.

    thanks for your reply.
    I did try that. In the project properties' window, down in the Libraries I had five adf entries, which were masked as with problem:
    ADF Common Runtime
    ADF Controler Rintime
    ADF Faces Cache
    ADF Faces Runtime
    ADF Model Runtime
    I removed them, and tried to add them again, but only two loaded again out of the five:
    ADF Faces Cache
    ADF Faces Runtime
    The same happened in the JSP Tag Libraries menu. I had
    ADF Faces Cache 1.0
    ADF Faces Components 1.0
    ADF Faces HTML 10_1_3_2
    JSF Core 1.0
    JSF HTML 1.0
    deleted and tried to add them again, but only two out of five were available
    JSF Core 1.0
    JSF HTML 1.0
    Any ideas what might be the problem?

  • I don't see the components ADF faces in my JSPX page...

    Hi,
    I don't see my components ADF in my JSPX page when I drag and drop them. I have to run my page to see its contents...
    Can somebody help me please. Is it exists an option in Jdeveloper to mask jspx pages contents?
    I use Jdeveloper 10.1.3.4
    Thks,
    M.

    Hi Shay,
    Thank you very much for the blog's link, I found the solution in metalink, Doc ID: 382812.1 .
    There are many causes that make JSF tags not being displayed properly.
    For me, it was du to the web.xml file :
    ADF Faces pages do not display correctly when using the FacesPageCachingFilter (ADF Faces Cache).
    You can put the following lines in your web.xml file in comment during Design Time:
    +<!--filter>+
    +<filter-name>PCF</filter-name>+
    +<filter-class>oracle.webcache.adf.filter.FacesPageCachingFilter</filter-class>+
    +</filter-->+
    I comment the filter-mapping too :
    +<!--filter-mapping>+
    +<filter-name>PCF</filter-name>+
    +<servlet-name>Faces Servlet</servlet-name>+
    +<dispatcher>REQUEST</dispatcher>+
    +<dispatcher>FORWARD</dispatcher>+
    +</filter-mapping-->+
    Now, all works fine.
    Thks again.

  • Controlling SelectManyCheckbox layout in ADF Faces

    Hi,
    The only possibilities for the layout for an ADF faces select many checkbox seem to be "horizontal" or "vertical". How can we control the layout to say - have 10 checkboxes laid out horizontally in two groups of 5 vertically laid out checkboxes ?
    If there is no such attribute to control the layout better, does anyone have any recommendations on how this can be accomplished in any alternative way?
    Thank you

    Hi,
    no, but what about using a scrollbar?
    <af:form inlineStyle="width:400px; height:200px; overflow:auto;">
              <af:selectManyCheckbox label="Departments" layout="vertical">
                <af:forEach items="#{bindings.DepartmentsView1.rangeSet}" var="li">

  • Graphs and Charts in ADF Faces Applications

    Has anyone had luck implementing graphs and charts in an ADF Faces application?
    I experimented with Oracle's BI Bean control a while back. But I think Oracle has yet to provide support for BI Beans in JDev 10.1.3. Does anyone know what Oracle's plans are for BI Bean support in JDev? Or what Oracle's plans are for providing ADF Faces graph and chart controls? It would make sense to me since Oracle has much experience with graph and chart controls and to their credit has developed over 100 ADF Faces controls which comprise one of the richest JSF implementations available.
    I also looked briefly at JFreeChart for which open source is provided at apache.org and I believe someone had even taken a shot at encapsulating JFreeChart into JSF controls and posting the source at apache.org. Has anyone had experience with this?

    Bill, why not directly giving you a solution -there is alot of work going on in adding charting and graph support for future release of Jdeveloper....of course, that does not stop you using some graphing and charting features now but the new added features make the charting side of things much more drag and drop.

  • Adding ADF faces in Sun studio Creator

    Pls Help me by giving step by step procedure for adding ADF Faces in sun Studio Creator. The version of ADF Faces is EA 17.

    Hi Pablo and Eric,
    Just to calrify things a bit about ADF Faces. ADF Faces are standard JSF components and are fully compatible with any JSF implementation. What you guys are asking for is tools support. Currently Sun Studio Creator is experience difficulties importing any large custom component sets to their IDE. This is due to bugs in their prodcut and the fact that ADF Faces does not come with the Sun specific configuration required to import components to their IDE. We are working with them on a new proposal for design time metadata and a solution to get ADF Faces into to the Sun SC IDE.
    But, this is ultimately a Sun issue, not a JDeveloper nor ADF Faces issue.

  • ADF Faces: When to expect production ready JSF components

    I know this question has been asked many times, but there is no up to date information as to schedules. What are the time lines for releasing ADF faces components into production?
    Great things have been promised in demos at JavaOne and the like. In particular rich tables generated from AJAX JSF.
    I have seen webcasts promising the components by fall. Well September is close approaching, does this mean we should see the complete set of JSF components imminently?

    Thanks for your response. However, I have previously been through all the examples and am familiar with the functionality that af:table provides.
    I have a set of data intensive applications to write that require data entry in a tabular form for speed.
    Now I know af:table allows them to do this, but some functions such as keyboard cursor key navigation is none-existent.
    My question was what functionality would the richer table control have and how easy would it be to convert to this new component once available.
    Many thanks.

  • ADF Faces Release Date?

    Can somebody please indicate what is the scheduled release date for the ADF Faces suite? Also, it would be nice to know the prevailing thought process on the licensing.
    Thanks
    Arjuna

    Due to Sarbens-Oxely regulations we can't give you a more specific date then FY06 (meaning anytime between now and June-06) as a release date for both JDeveloper 10.1.3 and ADF Faces.
    ADF Faces is free if you deploy your application on the Oracle Application Server. If you deploy on another application server there is a runtime cost ($5K per proccessor).
    And just for the record we already know of people using ADF Faces in production applications even though the components are still not officially production.

  • Skinning ADF Faces

    Is there any documentation available on ADF Faces' skinning mechanism? I need to apply my own product branding. So far I haven't found anything but the briefest mention of this functionality.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    go to
    http://jroller.com/page/cschalk
    and search the page for
    "Example ADF Faces Skin Posted". This gives you an example of how skinning works with ADF Faces. It doesn't appear to be magic and should be clear from Chris's explanation.

  • ADF Faces: What is similar to DeltaTree?

    I'm a JSF novice, so bear with me here.
    Thanks,
    Sascha

    One key difference between ADF Faces regions and the JSP custom tag feature is that the ADF Faces regions are data-binding aware and that databinding can be parameterized. Unfortunately we ran out of time in the 10.1.3 release to finish/polish the design time for the ADF Faces version of regions, but if you check out example # 91 from my blog, you can see an example that exploits the ADF Swing incarnation of regions, whose design time support did make it in time for the 10.1.3.x release "train".
    http://radio.weblogs.com/0118231/stories/2004/09/23/notYetDocumentedAdfSampleApplications.html#91
    In that example, you'll notice the use of a "region binding" in the "Executables" section of the page that includes a region, and also notice the use of region parameters to pass desired data control and data collection references into the region. The ADF Model data binding for regions is the same regardless of client.

  • ADF Faces: What is similar to UIX templates?

    Hi,
    could someone point me in the right direction? We used UIX templates (mainly for the PageLayout node) to set some named children and attributes to set values (as a main value for the version, a main menu, etc). I cannot seem to find something equivalent for JSF .
    I'm probably just looking in the wrong place but can somebody point me in the right direction?
    Thanks in advance.

  • ADF Faces: How do I set values for input controls in an af:table

    Use case: user enters master/detail information into an input form using an af:table for the desired number of detail rows.
    I have an ADF Faces input form with master level input controls, and an af:table (bound to a backing bean CoreTable) for the detail data set.
    The input controls are value bound to updateable view objects built from entity objects, with the appropriate view links providing master/detail iterators.
    Once the user has entered the master keys (via inputTexts, and selectOneChoices), I create a row in the detail VO, thus creating a visible blank row in the af:table.
    The user then completes the key for the detail row (in the af:table) by selecting a value in a selectOneChoice (in a af:column) with autoSubmit on and a valueChangeListener that sets the VO row attribute with the new value.
    The user then continues to enter into the remaining inputTexts and selectOneChoices in the af:columns until all values have been entered.
    I do not have autoSubmit on for any input controls in the af:columns other than the key, for performance improvement.
    The user can then use a command button (which has an action method) to create another row in the af:table.
    But, (in the action method) I need to set the values for the 1st detail VO row attributes, from the input controls, before creating another row.
    The input controls are bound to backing bean CoreInputText and CoreSelectOneChoice objects, and they have not set their values at this point, even though I have partialSubmit on for the "New Row" command button.
    I do not value bind the input controls in the af:columns to the backing bean objects, because we need to display data for all rows entered into the af:table.
    Any advice on the best way to perform this operation would be very appreciated!!!!

    Thanks for the reply Steve!!
    Yes, I followed the techniques in Screencast#7, and it works great in my edit page.
    But I am having problems with my input form.
    I actually have master/detail/detail relationship for which I am creating an input form.
    I created the input form as a copy of the edit form, and am making revisions as necessary.
    I created new view objects for the input form (from my three entity objects), which have the "Tuning" set to retrieve "No Rows (i.e. used only for inserting new rows)"
    I added an invokeAction that binds the "CreateInsert" action on the master iterator, so when the page is first displayed, the master level controls are available for data entry (as in 13.6.2 in the Developers Guide): but the first level detail controls are not rendered, and the af:table (for the second level detail) is rendered but with no rows.
    Once the user enters key values for the master (a three part key), I manually create a first level detail row by executing the "CreateInsert" action binding for the first level detail iterator.
    Continuing on, the user then enters a key value for the first level detail I manually create a second level detail row using it's "CreateInsert" action binding.
    Now the user has a form with all master and first level detail controls completed and one empty row in the af:table for it's first entry.
    The key column in the af:table has autoSubmit on, and an value change listener. That listener uses it's getNewValue() to set the key value ("locationCode" in this case) using
    setLocationCode from the ViewRowImpl. Here is that value change listener:
    public void locationChanged(ValueChangeEvent event) {
    if (null != event.getNewValue()) {
    LocObsCreateViewRowImpl locCreateRow = (LocObsCreateViewRowImpl)appMod.findViewObject("LocObsCreateView").getCurrentRow();
    if (null == locCreateRow.getLocationCode()) {
    locCreateRow.setLocationCode(event.getNewValue().toString());
    Now comes my problem: once they have entered the values in the remaining columns, they can use a command button to create another row in the 2nd detail iterator, thus creating another visible empty row in the af:table. But the values from the first row (other than the key column) are not assigned to the row in the collection and I can't figure out how to set values in the collection's row.
    I imagine I'm missing something using bindings and the Request Processing Lifecycle, and after reading this I can see how much manual work is going on.
    The users have specified the need to have all information available on one page, so I've designed it so they can insert and iterate through the first level detail collection.
    They have also asked to not use the mouse; they are looking for a "heads-down-data-entry" system.
    Again, I really appreciate any advice you could give.
