Workflow UWL attachment external url
Hi all,
i'm trying to open an URL as attachment via the EP form the UWL. Links like http://www.google.de or other external URL are not correctly shown in the webbrowser (IE7.x).
how can i attach an URL (documenttype is URL) to an Workitem an let it show directly from the UWL

I don't know if it works in UWL but using html tags
<a href="www.xyz.com"> test </a>
works for SAP inbox. Try this.

Hi expets,
When trying to open attachment of an work item(which is a pdf) the system opens a transaction and generates pdf and saves it in the local path c:\documents and settings\user2\test.pdf but while trying to open it trys try's to open the path c:\documents and settings\*user2test.pdf* . which it unable to open as there is no backslash between user2 and test.pdf.....
Can you please tell me where can i actually change this path?

From your description of the scenario I imagine that you will be able to find how this link is being constructed in the UWL XML files.
There you can check how UWL constructs the URL and so you can change the path to a more appropriate one.
In order to get to the right XML file inside UWL Administration you have to firstly know which is the XML file relevant for the workitems to which the issue occurs.
You will be able to get this information by enabling the UWL Support Information in the system, which allows UWL to show some technical information about each of the tasks. In order to enable this, follow the steps described on SAP Note 1532883.
When the support information gets displayed, you have to look at property "Item Type Configuration Name", which tells you the name of the XML file on UWL. Also write down the value of property "Item Type" which you will need afterward.
Now go to System Administration -> System Configuration -> Universal Worklist & Workflow -> Universal Worklist - Administration -> Click to Manage Item Types and View Definitions
Search for the configuration whose name is Item Type Configuration Name and download the same.
Edit the file and search for value Item Type inside of it.
There you will be able to find any "Action" inside this Item Type tag which is the one that makes the link you want to modify to appear.
Let me know if you are not able to find the action so that I can check how we can get further on this.

In one of the dev instance here in Client's side we are facing one issue regarding workflow notification attachment.
We have built a custom workflow which send notification with PDF as an attachment.In ebs workflow list when user try to open the attachment we are getting following error
ORA-06510: PL/SQL: unhandled user-defined exception ORA-06512: at "APPS.WF_NOTIFICATION", line 8114 ORA-06512: at line 1
This error is not occurring in another dev instance and happening at the client side.
Please let me know if any one have come across this error before

Transaction Launcher - External URLs
Hello,
I've created a link to an external URL using transaction launcher and the actual link itself works fine, but I have a couple small issues that I'd like to fix if anyone has any advice:
First, I have it set to launch the URL in a new window, and the window pops up behind the Webclient. Is it possible to have it pop up on top?
Second, once the user clicks this link, in the webclient itself, they're taken to a screen that says:
The object you have selected is starting in a new browser window. You can continue working normally in the current application. However, you may have to navigate back to the page you were working on.
...and then they have to click the back button to return to the screen they were on before they clicked the link. Does anyone know how to keep the web client on whatever screen the user was already on and just launch the link in a new window without having it navigate anywhere else?

If your requirement is to open some URL say google.com etc in a now window, then there are only 2 ways
1) Use Transaction Launcher
2) Use PopUp Window.
1) If you use transaction launcher, and created the link in your direct link group then on click of the link, the URL will open in new window but you cant avaoid the message that you get in the current window. Also, if users POPUP Blocker is ON, user will never come to know why the new window has not launch.
2) This is very simple and straight forward approch for opening URL. However, POPUP windows in WEB UI are modal windows, so say on click on a button on Account Overview Screen, i open google.com in a popup then unless i close this popup , i can not work on the account overview screen . However, you can see the account overview screen as it is and you can resume back when the popup is closed. Also you can define the even handler on close event of pop up so you can pass the data to & fro between the webclient view and the pop up.
to open some extrenal URL in a PopUp , You will need to create a blank view and attach it to a window. In .htm file of the view, you can use tag IFRAME and call your external URL here.
I have done this to open a dotNet application through web ui and it works excellently !!

Hello All,
Please guide me in below scenario as I am new to SAP UI5.
I have created a SHELL application with 5 tabs.
We have a requirement where on clicking of a tab in the application it should open an external url. I am using "link" element of sap.ui.commons library. On press of link to action function I am using below code to open external url content.
location.href = "http://google.com";
It is opening in the same tab but I have been navigated away from my application.
As per the requirement external url content should be opened without navigating away from my application.

I feel like a rookie but, can someone tell me how to create links to external URLs in Muse?
I want to attach the link to text which gives the name of the site. I am not an idiot, just unfamiliar with the program. I have looked through the learning videos but cannot find anything that specifically relates to my question. I appreciate any help I can get. Thank you, in advance, for any assistance.

Transaction Launcher : How to get return parameters from an external URL
Hello,
We need to launch an external URL in the Web Client UI. After the URL is launched, the user does some processing which results in some output values. These value have to be passed back to the Web Client UI and become a part of the quotation he is creating.
We are able to launch the URL using the Transaction Launcher. But we are not able to find a way to get the output values from the external URL to the Web client UI.
Please suggest any approach for this. It is OK even if we need to use an intermediate BSP to launch the external URL.

Right off the bat let me say I am using Mavericks 10.9.1 on a 2011 Macbook Pro and using all Lacie external hard drives.
I am trying to get Time Machine to alternate between two attached external hard drives, trying to be safe in case one of the backup drives itself fails.
I have both drives set in Time Machine.
From what I gather Time Machine should by default alternate between drives when backing up (I would assume it does one big initial backup on each then subsequent backups are just changes).
But this is not how it seems to be working and I cannot find a straight answer despite much Googling and Foruming
Unfortunately it seems to only be backing up to "External Hard Drive 1".
There have been 4 backups since I set it up, all on "External Hard Drive 1", even though "External Hard Drive 2" is also attached and set in Time Machine.
I manually clicked "Back Up Now" and it started to work on "External Hard Drive 2" (like I want it to) for a minute but it appears to have stopped and gone back to backing up to "External Hard Drive 1".
Am I missing something? Does Time Machine only move on to another disk when the first one runs out of space? Do I have to turn one off in order to force it to back up to the other drive (that would be less convenient of course)?
I am hoping that I am missing something and that it will just alternate between the two. Otherwise it is not the most comforting and thorough backup system as I had hoped when I purchased the additional external hard drive.
I have a 1TB drive and a 500gig partition on another drive, both dedicated to backups (my Macbook HD is 475gig). It will take awhile for each to fill up and who knows what could happen during that time. Having Time Machine alternate between hard drives would be a nice small bit of security if the worst happened.
I realize that there are tons of other options for backing up but I just want to use Time Machine if I can.
Again thank you for your help!You cannot use Time Machine in that way. I'm not sure where you heard that Time Machine alternates between drives automatically. What you can do is create a mirrored RAID array for the backup. This automatically duplicates whatever is on one drive onto the other drive.
Both drives must be the same size, and prefereably, exactly the same make and model. RAIDs can be configured using OS X's Disk Utility.

How to attach external document in custom developed Web Dynpro Screen

We have requirements to develop a custom portal screen using Webdynpro and should provide option to usee to attach external documents like WORD, EXCEL, TEXT, PDF and then save.
In Change/Display mode user should also get option to view this attached document.
Would like to know the solution in case any of you have worked in this scenario.

Form field to open a external URL passing the value typed by user in URL
I am trying to build a text field with a "Go" button beside it so that when a user types in a value (e.g. a bug number) in this text field, it opens up a external URL (e.g. bugdb URL) with the parameter being passed in the URL. e.g:
P1_SEARCH (Text field): 464666 (value)
So when I click on the Go button beside it, I want a URL to open in a new browser with the following URL:
http://xxxx.oracle.com/pls/edit_info_top?report_title=&rptno=:P1_SEARCH (P1_SEARCH should be replaced at the run time)
I tried using the branching and javascript:popupURL but I was not able to achieve the above mentioned flow.
Also, I noticed that when I try to create a button in a region selecting the option "Create a button displayed among this region's items", a javascript:doSubmit is automatically associated with it. Is there any way of changing it to javascript:popupURL?

I've got my Rdweb accessible on both my internal and external network by using split dns locally to resolve the external url (remote.domain.com/rdweb) to resolve and everything works fine. However users don't want to use the rdweb interface (as it is slower
than just clicking on a rdp shortcut.

How do I set the servers to use the external address rather than the internal one - i'm assuming it's similar to exchange's

Apart from this, also check the settings under; IIS in RDWeb Server as per below mention path.
Expand the default Website >Pages >Application Settings >DefaultTSGateway >
Enter the external address (FQDN) of the RD Gateway in the Value Field.

Opening an external url in the same browser

I need to open an external URL (for instance,www.google.com) from my WDA application by 'linktoaction' or 'button' event and this should be happen in the same parent window and not as a external window.

Unable to activate internal and external urls at the same time

We have Configured EBS R12 in DMZ setup as described in Figure F-9 of metalink note 380490.1 ,Option 2.4: Using Reverse Proxy with no External Web Tier.
refering to 726953.1 Case History: Implementing a Reverse Proxy Alone in the DMZ Configuration - R12.
but Not able to activate internal and external urls at the same time in this configuration. Only the node where last autoconfig was run getting activated as web node.
When trying to accees the url of the other node it gets redirected to the url (where autoconfig is last run).and for this error observed is Error Code:502 Proxy Error.The specified Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) port is not allowed.(12204).
For both external and internal services are UP.opmn status is live no error.
Using Apache as reverse proxy.

Finally it's resolved...Following is the solution thought to share in the forum:
The configuration of the E-Business Suite environment for DMZ requires profile options hierarchy type to be set
to SERVRESP.
To change the profile options hierarchy type values to SERVRESP, execute the following SQL script as
shown below:
sqlplus / @/patch/115/sql/txkChangeProfH.sql SERVRESP
After successfully completing the above sql script, run Autoconfig in all nodes to complete the profile options configuration.
It's resolved after doing this.. -
External URL Mapping and Full-Text Search Generation
I have a dilemma,
I can map external URL all fine e.g.

but the html files are not contained in the local directory, and thus the jhindexer is unable to (as far as i know anyway) generate full-text search using the externally linked html files
also from using a decompiler I have found that you can "force" it to generate the help for external urls (as the indexer prefixes all urls with the "file:" protocol, but I can only get this to work under debug mode, else it gives a heapSpace exception, so I wish to avoid having to do anymore unneccesary digging/decompiling.
Also just as a gripe, why is most of the java help source code unavailable, and the Indexer seems to be very inflexible (ontop of not having any documentation)That's the way it worked in X4 and later versions up but not including RH8. RH8 includes phrase searching in webhelp.
