Workshop Sample Code Download

I just joined an Oracle Developer Days workshop which name is "Best Practices for J2ee Development". On the workshop, I was told that I can download all the source code for the lab from otn. But I can't find them. Please tell me.

This is actually the ODP forum not the OLE DB forum, but anyway I managed to find the sample with no difficulties.
- Simply go to the OLE DB technology page (http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/windows/ole_db/index.html)
- Click on "Sample Code" on the right-hand side in the "Table of Contents" box
- Click the Oracle Provider for OLE DB 9.2 Samples link
- Click the Download Now link under the Populate DataSet with Multiple REF Cursors Sample

Setting up the URLs and such based on the information from Bonjour adds a little more. Parsing the list of files (an HTML list is returned by the client) is based off of the SeismicXML demo, provided by Apple. The list returned just so happens to also be valid XML (of course, I made it that way).
I've also integrated parts of the Bonjour demo provided by Apple to handle the Bonjour stuff. The Obj-C code is really rough right now, so if you could help me work out the kinks, that would be great. There's probably way more code than is needed right now, since it's mostly based on Apple demos.
Right now, the code doesn't handle conflicts at all, so that will have to be worked on as well.

This code is giving error as: cannot resolve symbol: class MultipartRequest
Why is this happening?

Where Can the Sample Code for That Balloon Game Demoed on WWDC for Swift Be Downloaded

Hi. I can't find the balloon game sample code used in the WWDC in the Sample Code for iOS or OS X (assuming it's available for download). If it is available for download by Apple, where can it be downloaded?

The assets are in the .playground file's file package. Select the .playground file in the Finder, right-click, and choose Show Package Contents to browse the file package. The graphics files are in the Resources folder inside the file package.

Where to download the sample code of Expense Tracker application

Several JSC2 tutorial articles mention a sample application called Expense Tracker. Does anyone know where to download it? The links in the articles are invalid now.

How to create a database for sample code from Tutorial/Book?

I want to try out the sample code from [http://shop.oreilly.com/product/0636920013471.do] for the book SQL Pocket Guide 3rd Ed.
I have downloaded the oracle vm/appliance for oracle 11g2 and I have started sqlplus as sysdba.
I'm feeling overwhelmed with these links describing how to create a database:

(1) What is the command to list the existing databases?
(2) What is the command to delete an existing database?
(3) When creating a new database with the create database command, is it necessary to specify the logfile, character set, national character set, datafile, sysaux datafile, undo tablespace, temp table space? Do these have reasonable defaults? I'm not sure what proper directories are to specify for Linux and the examples are for windows.
Can someone give me a simplified create database command to create a database called 3rdEdPocketGuide? Should I follow the example at [http://tldp.org/HOWTO/Oracle-7-HOWTO-3.html] and instead of orcl use 3rdEdPocketGuide?
(4) What command do I use to execute the script that comes with the book SQL Pocket Guide 3rd Ed? This is the script that has all the drop table, create table and insert commands in it.
(5) What command do I use in sqlplus to set the current default database prior to running this script? Perhaps this is the connect command? I don't want my script to create tables in the system database.
(6) I tried the command "connect 3rdEdPocketGuide" and it prompted for a password! Yikes! What password? Do I need to specify a password when I create a database? I cannot tell if I have successfully created such a database or it is just prompting me for a password to thwart malicious users. Is it is possible to create databases which don't require a password or maybe a zero length password?

Now, how do I create a database? In Microsoft SQL Server one has to create a database first and if you just start creating tables without creating a database first, the tables will be created in the system database and this is usually undesirable.
Sometimes a database is known in the java connection string as the catalog. Is there any such analog in oracle SQL plus?
So now what do I do? I want to create a bunch of tables using my script I downloaded from 3rd Ed SQL Pocket Guide. Does my new user "siegfried" have the right to create tables? I guess I could try but I don't want to create tables in the system database.
I noticed I can also use "Oracle SQL Developer" to connect with my new "siegfried" account. It seems that I should have been able to connect with sysdba... strange.
So now I am connected in the "Oracle SQL Developer" and I see no list of databases.

Error while compiling CS5.5 sample code

Hi,
I have just started on using InDesign CS5.5. I am trying to compile the sample code on Windows 7 and with Visual Studio 2008. On compilation it is giving me an error of SDKLib.sdk.lib
"LINK : fatal error LNK1181: cannot open input file '..\..\..\build\win\objr\SDKLib.sdk.lib'"
Have I missed some settings. I have set the Bin folder in the tools option. If anyone knows about this error please do let me know.

What does it take to run OTN sample code?

Do I have to install some kind of developers tool kit in order to compile and run the OTN and Oracle-install related sample code?
Also, I noticed that OTN only has toolkits for Oracle 9i, and nothing for Oracle 8i. Is Oracle abandoning 8i? Lots of us are not moving to 9i for some time, and abandoning 8i is not a swift idea. If we can not do what we need to do in 8i, we can always use Microsoft SQL Server, which we already have and are familiar with . . . There are those in the department that are using this to argue for a return to SQL Server.

I re-read my posting, looking for any mention of a lack of Oracle 8i documents and could not find any.
But I did notice that I mentioned OTN Samples and a question regarding the need to install toolkits in order to run them. I still don't know the answer. You see, the OTN sample readme files seem quite 'lean', and the classpath info needed to compile the Java code is not provided. I have not been able to compile the code after quite a bit of effort, prompting me to question the need for a tool kit. Or perhaps some .jar or .zip files are missing?
I also questioned support for Oracle 8i in that OTN is featuring 9i almost exclusively. This was prompted by my inability to locate 8i toolkit downloads in case I needed them. Plus the fact that we will be on 8i until next year . . .

I have the similar problem when I tried to compile sample code with C++ parser on WinNT4. I am using Micrsoft Visual Studio V6.0. I added the include file and lib file in the path.

Forms 6i sample code

i download forms6i samplecode and i have oracle 8i rel 2 every thing installing will
except that when i impot koow.dmp they say
IMP-00008: unrecognized statement in the export file
is that bug in sample code ???????

I was having the same problem. Check the version of the imp80.exe. If I remember right we were using the importer for 8.0.5 (had your problem) and the one for 8.1.5 was different.

Oracle Text query parser - sample code

I've posted a new entry on my "searchtech" blog which includes code for a "Google-like" query syntax parser:

When I select the "open in browser" option for each now, I get formatted, readable code, which can easily be copied and pasted into a file without the extra txt extension, and I much prefer that. So, for me, that is a sufficient fix.
It seems like this is handy, virtually idiot-proof code, easy to create the package, easy to use it, and provides the Google-like search that users expect, without raising errors or producing unexpected results. Frequently, on the OraFAQ forums, where I am a moderator, when there are various ways to solve a problem and I provide a Text solution, the complaint is that it is too complicated to create all of the formatting to fix potential problems with user input. Your code solves that problem and I hope it will be included in the next version. If you don't mind, I will post an announcement in the OraFAQ Text forum with the permanent link that you provided.
