Writing current to DAQ using AOPoint control

I'm using the CWAOPoint control to write a value of type current to my DAQ card 6024E but I get the following error:
"The specified device does not support the requested action (the driver recognises the device, but the action is inappropriate for the device)"
I had no problem trying to write a voltage value to the same device. Also this worked with the current DAQ and hardware using Labview instead of Measurement Studio. Thanks in advance.

The DAQCard-6024E only supports voltage output and does not support current output. We sell hardware that has the capability of supplying current, such as the NI 6704 output device linked below.

Disable DAQ using boolean control

Hi everyone,
im trying to use two types of control ( numeric control) and ( vertical slider) to output analouge signal to the same port of DAQ ( lets say port ao). the problem is if i do that the DAQ will give error because the channel is shared. that is why i was thinking if there is a way to use boolean switch in order to disable the DAQ attached to one controller at a time?
for example if the switch is 1 it enables the numeric control and disables the vertical slider, and if its 0 it enables the vertical slider and disable the numeric control FOR THE SAME DAQ PORT (ONE PORT).

wouldnt this still give error because the same DAQ port will be connected to two control elements?
i dont have labview now i will have access to it in 2 hours time when the lab opens
i will try it and let you know but i guess the VI refuses same port of daq used twice in one GUI.
and one more thing if you dont mind, i have asked for help once in the forum about gaussian best fit function. they helped me to create plot but i dont know how to place the gaussian best fit to it, do u mind if u give a look to it?

i am taking measurement for single phase or 3 phase voltage and current and display it on front panel voltage measurement is valid but doinh with current measurement i suffer some problem should i take dc avg value or rms value for measurement
when i take dc average value it give result as i want but doing with rms valur it give wrong result according to my circuit sitution. As, we know in ac case rms value is used for measurement but it give wrong result so guide me in this regard

When playing a home video DVD using DVD Player I tried to use the "Controls, Use current frame as jacket picture" facility to create a printable image but with no success. Can anybody point me in the right direction?

When playing a home video DVD (created on my Panasonic DVD/Hard Disc recorder) using the Mac DVD Player, I tried to use the "Controls, Use current frame as jacket picture" facility to create a printable image but with no success. Interesting to know about 10.8 and Flash. I'll hold off upgrading until they work together. Currently using 10.6.8 at home and same on the Universtity's computers.
Haven't verified on Windows but shall do later in the week if I can get access to a Windows machine.
Both the Flash player and the Projector come up not full screen, and if I leave it that way then things work OK as long as I don't make the video full screen (using the full screen button on the skin).
However if I make the swf or projector full-screen (by using CMD-F or the menu option) then when I click on the menu item to take me to the page with the video on it, instead of a page with a smallish video and back button I get a black screen with no obvious controls. If I then press Escape I get my normal screen back and I am in the page that should have the video but there is not video and the back button does not work. So something wierd is going on here.
If I make a file without any videos with a similar navigation structure everyting works ok except that when I go full screen I lose the finger cursor when I roll over my buttons (which is also wierd).

Visual Studio 2013 slows down + crashes when using Source Control features.

I have spent two full days trying to resolve this issue but no luck so here we go,
I have created a project using Visual Studio Team Foundation Server plug-in in the past. Later on I switched to
Microsoft Git Provider.
Now when I connect to that project in the Team Explorer and double click on the solution to work on it locally it somehow changes the plug in to Microsoft Git Provider automatically and of course I can't
Commit/Commit and Push since I receive following error in the Team Explorer,
An error occurred. Detailed message: Failed to open directory 'C:/Users/.../AppData/Local/Application Data/'
Manually changing the plug-in to the Visual Studio Team Foundation Server
results in a broken Team Explorer as below,
With Settings leading to an empty pane, and also a warning in the Team Explorer's Changes page telling me the message below if I click on Pending Changes...
Microsoft Git Provider is not the current Source Control plug-in. Change Plug-in
And manually selecting the solution from Solution Explorer, right click and
Add Solution to Source Control, leads to never ending hour glass and (Not responding) visual studio.
New Projects
Creating a new project is straight forward, unless I "Add to Source Control" is checked. If so, again never ending process if Microsoft TFS plug-in is selected in the tools and eventually me Ending the Visual Studio task. And a VERY long process
(40+ mins) if I have chosen Microsoft Git but that finishes successfully rather.
New TFS project from Team Explorer
If I create a new project in my Online Web Studio
Click on Open with Visual Studio Link => Opens and connects to a my newly created TFS in team explorer.
Clicking new in Team Explorer under Solutions to create a new solution and bind it to this Repo
leads to straight crash of Visual Studio and restarting attempt of VS.
So I really can't use Source Control from visual studio other than cloning GitHub's existing repo's on Visual Studio and Committing my current Microsoft Git managed projects.
I have attempted
Repairing Visual Studio (no luck in results)
Devenv.exe /setup (no luck)
Trying to scrap the SCC info on my solution then at least it won't get picked up by source control then I can Check it in as a new project. (no luck and the solution picks the Microsoft Git upon opening it by clicking on the .sln file.) I have followed
these steps in this stack overflow answer.
And lots of mucking around like removing my workspaces almost Thousand times and putting them back, binding and etc.
I am really stuck on this and it's holding me back from staring a new project (which is problematic using Adding to Source Control) and unfortunately is dependent on the old project (which is developed under Visual Studio Team Foundation Server Plug-in which
is throwing tantrums)

Based on the description, seems you're working with Git team project in Visual Studio Online(formerly Team Foundation Service). I'd like to know whether you mean Visual Studio Git command tool as the plug-in, and if you're trying to create solutions/projects
with Visual Studio and add them to the created Git team project.
From the screenshot, you're not connect to the Git team project by using Team Explorer. To work with Git team project locally, you can follow the instructions as below:
Connect to Git team project by using Team Explorer, after that you might install Git tools if you connect to the team project for the first time
Clone the remote Git repository to a local git repository and set the path to local git repository
Create a solution and select Git source control, also saved to the local path of the local git repository
Select your branch, and then click "Changes" and Commit the changes
Click "unsynced commits" and push the commit to remote git repository

Make a temporary, backup copy of your library if you don't already have one (Control-click on the library and select Duplicate from the contextual menu) and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:

Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.

Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. Need a help: how to recover using backup control file?

Please a help:
First computer
1. I create a database
2. put it in archive mode,
3. shutdown and made a cold backup
4. Created backup control file (alter database backup control file to trace)
5. I started up and created some archived log files.
Second Computer
1. I copied all files created in the step 3 above except the control file
2. I create all the same map directory on the 2nd computer as in the 1st computer
3. I recreate the control file from the script got in the step 4 above
4. I Copy archived log files generated at the step 5 in the local directory in the second computer
5. I set the logsource and set the autorecovery to on
6. I recover the database: RECOVER DATABASE USING BACKUP CONTROL FILE UNTIL CANCEL
Error got:
the archived log file applied do not go beyond the first one?,How could I do to applied all archived log files copied from the first computer to the second computer to have the same data?

Data Guard Summary problem using Grid Control.

I setup data guard using Grid Control and after completion, the console of the standby database shows: "Unable to determine Data Guard information." under the Data Guard Summary section. The primary database is not showing the standby. I'm using Red Hat Linux Server 5.7 (64bit) and Oracle 10.2.0.5. This is a standalone (no RAC or ASM involved). When I run show configuration, the following comes up:

If the archives are missing so many and you do not have backup, then certainly you have to choose incremental roll forward to synchronize the primary database, then only you can see the configuration status of Broker as valid. We do not have any DAQ cards within the PC. We have the parallel port which is EPP and ECP compatible having the address 278h on LPT2 and we are trying use this port for reading 8bit data from an external circuit. We developed a vi program in Labview 5.0 to control the parallel port.We tried with the Data lines to send signals from PC to external device through this parallel port with the addr
ess 278h (which
is Data lines) and it works fine. We also tried using reading 4bit data from external
device to PC through this port with the address 279h (which is Status lines) and it
is also working fine.
But it was not possible for us to read through Control lines whose address is 27Ah. Whereas when line printer (dot matrix printer) was
connected, it was possible for us to take print out. Thus printer was working. This
informed us that the control lines are all OK!
Can you please clarify, how to use both control lines and status lines to read 8 bit data through this parallel port using the Labview software.

Recovery using backup control file

Hello friends,
I have a scenario where i am unable to recover by database by using backup control file option can u pls give ur expert advice.
1) Database is working in ARCHIVE MODE.
2) One of my file was READ ONLY when i take my closed backup. At this time
v$log file output is :

3) After 2-3 log switches i have made it READ WRITE.
4) After making it READ WRITE i have taken controlfile backup by using
ALTER SYSTEM BACKUP CONTROLFILE TO 'E:\ORACLE\CONTROL01.CTL';.
5) Again i have make some log switches.
6) Shutdown my database using SHUTDOWN option.
7) Copy my SYSTEM,UNDO,USER,INDEX datafiles from my backup (taken at
step 2) and CONTROL file (taken at step 4).
8) I have not copied my old redo log files so those are new.
9) I mount database & then use this command to recover database :
RECOVER DATABASE USING BACKUP CONTROLFILE AUTO;
10) My recovery process starts applying archived log files and applied upto
sequence no 9. When it starts applying last one 10 which is online redo log
and not yet archived my recovery process fails by giving this error:
ORA-00308: cannot open archived log 'd:\oracle\oradata\practice\archive\1_10.dbf'
ORA-27041: unable to open file
OSD-04002: unable to open file
O/S-Error: (OS 2) The system cannot find the file specified.
11) I try to open database using :
ALTER DATABASE OPEN RESETLOGS;
it gives following warning:
Error at line 1:
ORA-01113: file 1 needs media recovery
ORA-01110: datafile 1: 'D:\ORACLE\ORADATA\PRACTICE\SYSTEM01.DBF'
Please guide me why it is so ?
Whether in BACKUP CONTROL FILE CASES system didn't recognise ONLINE REDO LOG FILES or it is anything else.

Alter database open Resetlog command is used only in incomplete recovery.
but your are giving
Recover database command,it means ur performing full recovery (means you have apply online redo logfile.) and after applying it you should open the database with Alter database Open command.
No need to give resetlog option.
Again Restore all backup;
Issue Recover database;
and open the database with
Alter database open;

Using Java control panel proxies in Java application

Currently I'm using the ProxySelector class in Java 5 to pick up the system proxy settings for my standalone Java application by setting java.net.useSystemProxies=true. I'm interested in leveraging the network settings in the Java Control Panel (on Windows) to determine the proxy settings, which are used for applets and WebStart. Is there any way to install the Applet/WebStart ProxySelector implementation as the default in my standalone Java application so that I can detect the same proxies in the same manner, rather than relying on the underlying OS settings?

yea, this was really annoying me until i found thise post. You DO NOT have to re-install your ATI Catalyst drivers for it to work, you simply have to open the ATI Catalyst Control Center, click on the "3D" tab that is on the left, and make sure that your setting is at "Balanced". You can find this under the racecar animation. If you have the slider adjusted all the way to the right "Optimal Quality", then the java applications wont show up. I dont want to guess on why this is cause i dont know, but if you have it set to balanced then all the Java Apps should work as intended.

I previously had PS CS5 Trial installed but removed it using both Control Panel Programs and deleting all files from the CS5 directory on Program Files. I then installed a purchased product from Adobe disc using the serial number on the case. But when I try to launch it, I get a screen headed Photoshop CS5 Extended Trial. It asks for the serial number and says that my trial has expired. It rejects the serial number from the Adobe case saying "This Serial Number is not valid for this product". It thinks that I still have the expired Trial Version installed. How do I convince it (the program) that the Trial Version is long gone and the currently installed product was installed with a valid and accepted serial number????

Let me know how it goes. Go into your Adobe account and register your serial number asap.

That way, should you lose it or you need support, it is on record that it's yours and you can fetch your s/n it from anywhere.
There are too may sad stories here, where people forgot and the box is buried or lost.
