This looks like the classpath is not set up properly on the producer. Make sure you have all the appropriate library modules set up in your WAR and EAR.

Taskflows integration as WSRP on Weblogic portal
Hi :
Am trying to integrate discussion form using taskflow as WSRP portlet on WLP .
have refferred document http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/webcenter/pdf/e20_services_producer_white_paper.pdf
however i have not been successful in getting pop up .
I dont get any specific errors when i requet for Create topic from WLP , page simply gets refresh . Is there any configuration that is missed out in the doc ?
w.r.t white paper : ServicesProducerRequestContextFactory’s createContext method was modified to always return ServicesProducerRequestContextImpl , even then custom DialogServiceImp’s launchdialog() method was not called . JsfPhaseListeners , beforePhase method always gets windowProperties as null.
has anyone tried this integration ?Iframe portlets are certainly possible and the simplest approach. You can also look at using Clipper portlets: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15919_01/wlp.1032/e14244/clipper.htm#g1108243

Need to add as a WSRP Connection in JDev for Weblogic Portal JSF Portlets.
I am trying to register WLP 10.3.4 JSF Portlets as a WSRP connection in JDev Webcenter 11.1.1.6 Portal Framework application . The below are steps:
-Created Simple WLP Application with JSF Portlets and deployed them on WLS 10.3.4 domain.
-The WSDL url available is http://localhost:7003/TEST_WEB_PORTAL/producer?wsdl
-Now Open JDev and created WCP Framwork app
-Under Application Resource, right click on Connections -> New Connection -> WSRP Producer.
-Click Next on step1 -> Enter WSDL URL on Step 2 and then click next on next 3 screens.
-It tries to register but ended up with below exception:

I have followed the steps given in the http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E26806_01/wlp.1034/e14235/chap_webcenter_interop.htm#BABGIIIJ for preventing User Authentication error by creating user of PortalSystemAdministrator group but did not help.
Please let me know if anyone have faced this exception or any pointers.
Thanks
Kamal GulatiHi,
I tried creating a simple JSF portlet and I can able to register and it is working Fine, but my teammet got the same issue like you :) . While Analyzing what I found is , the location where we created the portlet in weblogic portal. If you created your portlet directly under WebContent folder then this issue is coming up, so try to create the portlet in a folder inside the WebContent folder, say create a folder with name portlets under webcontent and create the JSF portlet inside that portlets folder.
Now start the server and register the same in WebCenter, you will not get that exception. I am going to raise a ticket with Oracle about this issue and get the root cause.
Thanks

Need Help with Weblogic Portal WSRP setup on IE10 & above
Hello,
My client hosts weblogic Portal server and consumes portlets built in .Net. These work fine in all browsers except for IE10 and above.
In IE10 and above, none of the click events seem to work. This does not generate any error in the browser or in the application on my end.
I have setup Oracle Weblogic Portal 10gR3 locally on my Windows 7 box and I have added my application running on local machine as producer, so I am able to add break points and step through the code.
I confirmed that every click event triggers a response but the view in the portal does not change.
When I try to load the portlet directly in browser, every thing works fine.
Only different thing I did different to handle multiple instances of same portlets is to add namespaces to all function names
Original:
var theForm = document.forms['form1'];
if (!theForm) {
theForm = document.form1;
function __doPostBack(eventTarget, eventArgument) {
if (!theForm.onsubmit || (theForm.onsubmit() != false)) {
theForm.__EVENTTARGET.value = eventTarget;
theForm.__EVENTARGUMENT.value = eventArgument;
theForm.submit();

Announcing: Developing JSF Portlets with WebLogic Portal Whitepaper
Just Released: Developing JSF Portlets with WebLogic Portal Whitepaper
A supplemental developer's guide has been published to help guide WLP 10.x customers that wish to use JSF as the web framework for building portlets on WebLogic Portal. This is a sizable document (150 pages) that covers a large number of topics. It also coaches developers on best practices and common pitfalls.
Important: It also clarifies the supported configuration of JSF within Portal Web Projects. Workshop for WebLogic by default configures a web project in a configuration that is not supported by WebLogic Portal. The guide explains how to address this:
* Change from the unsupported MyFaces JSF implementation to the supported Sun Reference Implementation (RI)
* Change from the unsupported "client" STATE_SAVING_METHOD to the supported "server"
The guide can be downloaded here:

First, I wish to thank you for the great work.
We followed your whitepaper and managed to deploy a JSF portlet on WLS.
But we are not able to register it (consume it) as remote portlet in Oracle Portal 10.1.4. The error log is as follows:

NPE while registering Remote Portlet in Weblogic Portal 10.3
Hi,
I am on Weblogic Portal 10.3 and am trying to create a remote portlet in my portal application. The remote Portlet is hosted on OC4J 10.3.1.1.1 and is consumed properly on Oracle Portal without any errors, however, when I try to access the portlet's wsdl via the Remote Portlet Wizard, I get the following exception while registering.

Weblogic Portal 9.2 Startup Error - Linux
Hi all, Thanks in advance for help in resolving this critical situation.
Installed is Weblogic Portal 9.2 on a Ubuntu [Debian] Linux workstation. When I create a portal environment using default Configuration Wizard settings, ./startWeblogic.sh executes and I am able to reach the cosole without problems.
As soon as I try to customize the configuration using Oracle drivers and corresponding username/password, I see an alert that reads:
<b>This domain is configured to use the SQL authenticator security provider. You must load database tables in the "Run Database Scripts" panel or load the tables manually after completing the wizard using the SQL file located at ~/bea920/user_projects/domains/pDomain/security/SQLAuthenticator.sql</b>
I click 'OK'. And 'Done'.
When I attempt to start Weblogic, it fails with the following stacktraces:

Here is what i have tried:
1. altered the username and password in boot.properties
2. deleted boot.properties and manually entered the username and password at WLS startup [as seen in the stacktrace].
3. created a default-settings portal environment that started weblogic, then used the console to chenge the settings to my customized values. Restarted the server and it failed with the same stacktraces.
Please please help. Our team has exhausted its knowledge of trouble shooting this situation. This forum is my next to last result.
Thanks again.
BartoszI too was facing this problem initially but on windows machine. This problem occurs because p13nDataSource is not configured and its still pointing to the POINTBASE data base. Point it to Oracle database and then test the connection. Once the Connection Test is sucessful go to Run Database Script. Select the correct version of Oracle i.e. 8i, 9i or 10g. Then select on DataSource from in the top left corner. Only two DataSource needs to be configured. cgDataSource-nonXA and p13nDataSource.Select these Data Source one after another and Run the scripts once this is done u can configure the WLI Domain.
This is done once configuring the WLI Domain.
I would post the corrective measure for the Domain which has been already created. If the issue is blocking u can create a new domain:-) -
Deploying JSR-168 portlets error in Weblogic Portal 9.2MP2
Hello,
We're using WebLogic 9.2MP2 and ALBPM 5.7 SP2 enterprise server standalone. We want display in our portal the In-Box to the user as a JSR-168 portlet.
We are following the steps in the following guide:
http://edocs.bea.com/albsi/docs57/adminguide/jsr-168/ad_jsr168_wl92_deployingalbpmjsr168portlets.htm
but when we try to add a new remote producer using the WebLogic Portal Administrator Console we get this error ( in the "Find producer" step):
com.bea.jsptools.portal.helpers.wsrp.AddProducerControlException: java.rmi.RemoteException: Remote method invocation failed: weblogic.xml.crypto.wss.WSSecurityException: Unable to add security token for identity.; nested exception is:

Weblogic Portal integration with Lotus 8.5
Hello all,
I'm working on a project which involves building an intranet Portal and the customer has Lotus 8.5 which wants to integrate in the Weblogic Portal using wsrp portlets. More precisely they want to have in their portal the lotus calendar portlet, lotus mail portlet,lotus notes portlet, lotus sametime portlet ..etc. I found an old documentation and sample of this kind of portlets developed by Oracle but they don't work because of some errors when they try to retrieve the Lotus configuration. The documentation is this one : http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/portal/point/lotusnotes/installation.html
I tried to find the authors of this documentation, or perhaps who developed the portlets and ask them if they can adapt the portlets for an integration between Weblogic Portale and Lotus Notes 8.5. If somebody knows about this topic or can help me with fixing the problem I have with the portlets please let me know - my e-mail is [email protected]
Thank you very much, your help is very much appreciated !Hello,
First of all let me thank you Brad, for taking the time to answer, it's very nice of you. After I read you post I spent a couple of hours searching for the installer of the recommended "WebLogic Portlets for Groupware Integration". After searching everywhere I could possible search : OTN, E-Delivery, Metalink, ias.us.oracle.com I could not find the installer of this portlets. In the Installation Guide it says : " 2. Download the software from the Oracle Software Downloads site. " - there is nothing related to Portlets for Groupware on OTN.
Now, I'm ashame but I have to give up, I guess perhaps this portlets for groupware integration are bundeled into some kit with a different name, I don't know, believe me I tried to find them, I searched the documentation but with no luck.
I would be very thankful if you can point me to the installer of this portlets. Thank you very much again ! -
Plumtree and Weblogic Portal Server | URL rewriting incompatibility
Hi All,
I am using Weblogic Portal as the Producer and Plumtree as the consumer for my WSRP portlets. I have enabled Producer URL rewriting. When i invoke an action URL i get a "Mode is not supported in this portlet." error. The template being passed is <blockingActionTemplate>/wsrpconsumer/pt_action?wsrp-navigationalState={wsrp-navigationalState}&wsrp-interactionState={wsrp-interactionState}&wsrp-mode={wsrp-mode}&wsrp-windowState={wsrp-windowState}</blockingActionTemplate>
and the URL generated is a href="/wsrpconsumer/pt_action?wsrp-navigationalState=&wsrp-interactionState=_action%3D%2FnewAction1&wsrp-mode=&wsrp-windowState="
The same portlet works fine when Consumer URL rewrting is enabled.
Plumtree is giving the same error for the portlets at the consumer at http://sunwsrp.dyndns.org/portal/wsrp/wsdl/default. Any help would be highly appreciated
ThanksHi, I don't have an answer on this but another more basic question. Our agency is using Plumtree Portal v5. I am assigned to develop a remote portlet. According to what I've read on the web as far back as 2003 Plumtree Portal supports WSRP but I'm getting conflicting answers within our agency. This post seems to indicate that the Plumtree Portal can consume WSRP compliant remote portlets. If that is correct, can you point me to documentation/examples? I've found reference to a Plumtree resource called "WSRP Portlet Consumer" for WSRP--does that still exist? Any help would be appreciated.

Integration of third party application on Weblogic Portal 10.3
Hi,
Need help on how can we integrate a third party application running on HTTP with weblogic portal application.
SCENARIO
we have a separate linux box running an application using PHP, MySQL & Apache.
We want to render this on portal using CPP (Content Presenter Portlets) or HTML/JSP portlets.
One way I can think of is to use IFrame in HTML/JSP portlets & involve the URL of this application.
Is there anyway to use WSRP?
I read the documentation on WSRP - It says that even a non-portal application can be integrated but that application should be having portlets running.
But this 3rd party doesn't have any portlets running.
Can anyone help on the same?Iframe portlets are certainly possible and the simplest approach. You can also look at using Clipper portlets: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15919_01/wlp.1032/e14244/clipper.htm#g1108243

Public url for weblogic portal producer
Hi All,
Can any one provide public weblogic portal producer url.
i need to this for traning purpose.It's really pretty easy and quick to install WLP and create a WLP wsrp producer webapp -- all WLP webapps are wsrp producers by default. Just do:
1. download from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/weblogic-portal/downloads/index.html and run that. You'll probably want to do a custom install and include the WLP samples (leave everything else the same). No other installers are needed -- WLP includes a built-in pointbase database for development (and training courses).
2. Follow the instructions on http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15919_01/wlp.1032/e14252/toc.htm to get a webapp and portlets up and running. Be sure to do the Run Scripts part of the domain creation in the config wizard. If you forget, you'll probably get some errors on startup of the server, and you'll just need to run the create_db script in the domain directory.
3. Access that WSRP producer as http://<server>:7001/webappname/producer?WSDL in a consumer webapp.
It normal only takes me less than 10 minutes to get a domain, webapp, and some portlets going. Generally, it takes me longer to actually download and run the installer than anything else.

How to use ADF with weblogic Portal 10.3.2
Hello All,
I want to use ADF with Weblogic Portal 10.3.2. Can anyone guide me ?
Thanks,
*(' ')sman*Hello,
To use ADF with WLP 10.3.2 you will need a WebCenter WSRP producer running the portlet, which you can then consume as a remote portlet in WLP. The documentation on how to do that is here:
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15919_01/wlp.1032/e14235/chap_webcenter_interop.htm#BABDBJBD

I am sorry not sure if this is the right forum to post this question, if not please point me to the right one. My question is when to use which product or what is the difference between WebLogic Portal and the ALUI portal product.
Thanks
SrikanthWebLogic Portal is more like J2EE oriented portal, all portlets have to be written in Java and be executed inside portlet container(supposed to be JSR168 compatible) that in turn integrated inside Weblogic Portal. All (Portal + portlets) hosted on the some host, sometimes in clustered environment. Probably to make the real portlet with real functionality some proprietary Weblogic API has to be used. I guess some real work out has to be done to "portletized" legacy application, at least this is what I saw for WebSphere portal. Weblogic competitors are IBM WebSphere and other J2EE oriented portals.
BEA Aqualogic Portal (ALUI) is SOA oriented portal. Portlets can be written in Java and .NET and hosted on remote computer. ALUI in fact integrates OUTPUT (HTML, XML) from them. JSR-168 container is here but rare used. Good for legacy code integration because even huge J2EE legacy application can be relative easy integrated. Supports WSRP as well. I don't know about commercial competitors on market now. Probably almost the only choice for .NET developers who need create portlets.

WebLogic Portal vs. AquaLogic Interation (ALUI)
Have any documents been published regarding the benefits and drawbacks of choosing WLP vs. ALUI? I've heard that they are very different and portlets are not compatible between the two applications. So we're looking for guidelines on why/when a company should use one product over the other.
Thanks,
MichaelMichael,
My primary suggestion is to reach out to your BEA account representitive to help work with you to determine which product is the best for your project and organization. We've published many internal materials to help them make your decision easier.
It's a complicated topic, which I couldn't address fully in an email thread given that Portal projects vary widely in their nature, and both products are industry leading and include many components. That said, I'd like to clarify a couple points raised by another poster:
First, WebLogic Portal is a good candidate for doing federated Portals using a variety of protocols- in fact we are used for just this reason alone at many companies. Several companies are using WSRP in particular to consolidate literally thousands of existing applications into their Portals. As well, you might find this page on our support of alternative protocols interesting:
http://dev2dev.bea.com/pub/a/2006/12/adrenaline-portlets.html
Finally, both ALUI and WLP bring valuable and complementary technologies to the content management and knowledge management space which are worth evaluting in depth.
Best,
Josh
