X6 Camera Rotation on v21.0.004

Hi..
I've recently made a CFW for the X6.  After installing, everything works really well except the camera controls do not rotate.  I've checked the sensor settings and rotation is enabled under turning.  In the camera settings, auto-rotate controls is enabled.
I thought it may be something to do with the CFW so I flashed with the official firmware and the same thing happened.
Has this feature been disabled on the latest firmware?
Just to be clear, i'm not having a problem with screen rotation...that works very well, it's just affected the camera.
Thanks

What do you mean by Camera Rotation ? the display on the screen will remain SAME in both settings (Screen rotation - ON / OFF). The difference will be seen when you see the images in the Gallery or when you copy the photos on PC..    (If you select NO then you will have to manually rotate the photo by 90Degrees to see it correctly)

  • Adobe Photoshop CS6  Extended 3d Camera Rotation Timeline Issue

    This is driving me daffy, and maybe it's obvious, but I hope someone might have an answer. I'm trying to create a timeline wherein the camera rotates in a circle around a 3d Object that is located at the origin of the Ground Plane. I click 3d Camera in the Timeline to create my beginning keyframe, I drag the time slider to the end of the timeline, and I Rotate the camera view around the Z (vertical central)  axis of the ground plane. I have the caps lock on so that the ground plane stays perfectly level as I rotate.)  As I am rotating the 3d Camera, the entire scene appears to rotate around the Z axis at the origin of the ground plane, which is what I want the animation to look like, but this is not the scene that plays back. When I play back the scene by clicking the play button or dragging the time slider, it rotates off-axis around some other center of rotation, with my 3d object often rotating out of the scene. Am I doing something wrong? Any insight would be appreciated.
    J. Combs
    P.S. --I tried the technique both on an imported 3d object (a head) and on Photoshop's preset Hat object with the same results.

    Each camera keyframe will record the camera's location in world and its rotation about a pivot at that particular location, not the apparent pivot of when you were manipulating the view. You will not have recorded a circular camera path. The path will be straight lines between keyframes.
    If you really want to make life hell and do the animation in Photoshop, then record a keyframe at each 5 to 10 degrees of rotation of the camera while you manipulate the view. That'll create a polygonal path that quite closely approximates a circle.
    You could be tempted to keep the camera stationary and rotate Scene instead but the lights are outside of Scene so they would need to be rotated individually in order to create the illusion of only the camera moving.

  • Camera Rotation Problem

    Hello
    I have a problem with my camera rotation. I would like to have a button which allows me to rotate a camera in my scene using only x and y axe and with z axe blocked. My javascript is :
    var c = getAnnots3D(0)[0].context3D;
    var camera = c.scene.cameras.getByIndex(0);
    var camdir = camera.position.subtract(camera.targetPosition);
    camera.position.set(-Math.sin(3.14/6)*camdir.y+Math.cos(3.14/6)*camdir.x,Math.cos(3.14/6) *camdir.y+Math.sin(3.14/6)*camdir.x,camdir.z);
    Script works good for x and y axe , but unfortunatelly z axe moves too(kind of a wave, starts low goes up and ends down after Pi/2) . Even if I block it using a constant instead of camdir.z, it moves but javascripy debugger shows z value blocked.
    Any idea what I'm doing wrong ?
    Help appreciated
    Bartek

    Your math really doesn't make any sense to me.
    All those math.cos(..) calls are constant because you are only passing constants. i.e. Math.cos(3.14/6) will always be 0.866158094. So you are doing this:
    position.set(-.9y + .5x, .9x + .5y, z);
    I'm not really sure what this "button" is supposed to do. if you want it to prevent the camera from tilting up and down, you have to repeatedly prevent the camera from tilting using a TimerEventHandler.
    Also, you are taking the camera direction and using it to set it's position, this will keep moving the camera near the origin and will probably be unpredictable.
    So really, I'm not sure what you are trying to do. Let the camera rotate freely in only 2 of it's own axis? only 2 of the world axis? or orbit an object only on 2 axis? only let it move left and right, but prevent it from tilting up or down? ...
    I can help, but you need to be more specific.

  • XYZ Camera Rotation w/ bezier curves - CS4

    Hi, I've been doing a workaround but I'd like to figure out the proper way to do this...
    It's really simple:
    Camera rotates left 45º on y-axis (like you are turning your head)
    then, Camera rotates up 45º up on x-axis (like you are looking up)
    I want to be able to control the motion with bezier points.
    -- Problem: the y-axis rotation does not offset the x-axis rotation (apparently on world not local) and the camera twists the horizon line (like you are twisting your head like a confused dog)...
    Workaround 1:
    y-axis Rotate
    x-axis Orientation
    -- Problem, orientation does not allow XYZ bezier point manipulation in the AE graph editor (severely handicapped motion control) <anger><hostility>
    Workaround 2:
    y-axis Rotate on Camera
    parent camera to a null
    x-axis Rotate on Null
    -- Problem, keypoints to animate camera are on 2 completely different objects.
    There has got to be a better way. Please, please, enlighten me...
    (disclaimer: I'm used to Lightwave 3D's camera rotation, and AE7 messed me up with the new graph editor – velocity graph doesn't make any sense to me)

    http://www.guerrillacg.org/home/3d-rigging/the-rotation-problem
    Gimble Lock is something I've fought in Lightwave so I'm aware of that. But a fixed world x-axis rotation on a camera seems AE specific – it's really weird.
    Last, Orientation and Rotation x-axis both seem to be world coordinates. Both produce the same problems if using x and y on the same parameters...

    There are a couple of ways that I would approach this. The first would be to animate the point of interest instead of rotation.
    The second would be to put the camera on a dolly. I do that all the time by adding a Camera, then adding a Null, making it 3D and then moving the null to the same position as the camera (copy and paste position). I then name the Null "camera dolly" and use the dolly to move the camera. Now you can simply adjust the pan of the camera with the Y rotation of the camera and the tilt with the x rotation of the dolly or by animating the point of interest.
    It's nearly impossible to get the kind of movement you expect by setting X, Y and Z keyframes for camera rotation or by setting keyframes for orientation with Auto orientation turned off. Movement is much easier when you split the controls between a null and the camera.
    As far as adjusting the movement with bezier curves, you can control the timing with bezier curves, but if you want to use curves for the angle you'll have to use the point of interest and adjust these curves with the (g) pen tool in the comp window using something other than Active Camera View.
    I hope this helps. One of these days I'll put all of my camera techniques in a tutorial.

  • Camera rotation limits not right

    I have a camera rotating left/right/up/down, I am trying to
    limit the rotation to 150 degrees in any direction.
    I have this code working for the left/right:
    if gPanLeft then pCamera.rotate(0,1,0)
    pCamera.transform.rotation.z = max(-150,
    min(150,pCamera.transform.rotation.z))
    I'm using the same code for up/down (using the x axis), but
    the camera stops about 50 degrees in the up direction and about 210
    in the downwards direction.
    I thought I might have a problem with the starting angle of
    my camera (as saved from 3DS Max) and I have tried using different
    angles to compensate, but they don't seem to do much. I have also
    checked to see if my camera collision is stopping the rotation, but
    it isn't.
    Can anyone help?

    Hello,
    I think the problem is that we can't rely on the camera's
    rotation vector to
    detect extents of movement, as the y axis can flip -180 if
    the camera is
    rotated a certain amount, this will screw up your max
    rotation checking and
    make the camera appear to jam.
    I think if you work with seperate properties for each axis of
    rotation, edit
    and check against the properties rather than the camera's
    transform, then
    apply them to the camera rotation vector in one go this
    should fix the
    problem. Some pseudo code to give the idea...
    property pCamera,pCamRotX,pCamRotY,pCamRotZ
    on beginSprite
    pCamera = sprite(the currentSpriteNum).camera
    pCamRotX = 0
    pCamRotY = 0
    pCamRotZ = 0
    end beginSprite
    on exitFrame
    if gPanLeft AND pCamRotY < 150 then
    pCamRotY = pCamRotY + 1
    end if
    pCamera.transform.rotation =
    vector(pCamRotX,pCamRotY,pCamRotZ)
    end exitFrame
    Hope this may help

  • IPhone 6 Plus camera rotation problem - any way to fix it?

    I took 7 photos this evening with my new iPhone 6 plus. All were taken in landscape mode. All were taken standing, holding the camera in landscape position pointed straight ahead or at a slight tilted down angle to shoot something relatively low in height.
    3 of the photos came out oriented correctly. But 4 came out rotated incorrectly. And there doesn't seem to be a way to correct the rotation in the Photos app, is there?
    Why don't the photos consistently turn out rotated correctly in the Photos app?
    In the Camera app itself, I looked at each one after shooting via the little window that appears after taking each photo. In all those views the photos were oriented correctly.
    A bug? Anything I can do to fix it?
    Thanks,
    doug

    Thanks for the hint about the rotate. AppleCare didn't know about that when I did a support chat with them on this issue.
    What they had be do was "reset all settings."
    Side-note: They said doing that would not delete any data, but it took like an hour to get things back where they were because all sorts of things were lost: wallpaper, my touch id fingerprint, wi-fi password, Messages addresses, the name of my iPhone - and at least a dozen other settings. They could have warned me.
    Anyway, I only did one test of 7 landscape photos after that, taken at various tilts, and they all came out correctly rotated. So maybe that fixed it. Or maybe it just didn't show up in the 7 photos I took. Time will tell. Worth a try? But just know you have to redo all your settings.

  • How can I add 3ds Model into After Effects with animation and camera rotation?

    Hi all!
    I'm on my way to my final project of Multimedia Animation of my bachelor last year.
    I have good knowledge of After Effects & 3ds Max.
    I want to do a short movie with aliens being shot down.
    So, my question is: How can I import my 3ds model with the animation(keyframes) into After Effects AND rotate the whole character and it's animation as I move the camera?
    for example, having a alien being shot down at the same time I'm recording with the HD camera around, that means that I have to define planes and angles, the problem is that I'm not parenting the character correctly with the plane.

    Element doesn't do pre-anaimted objects, so that would be the limiting factor. Of course it could still be handy for otehr scene elements. On that note, using AtomKraft and exporting the model as an Alembic file with animation might also be something to look into...

  • Restrict angle of camera rotation

    I've got a camera panning (using l/r/u/d) around a room from
    a single point of origin, using the lingo:
    if gPanRight then pCamera.rotate(1,0,0) --gPanRight refers to
    a mousedown on a seperate sprite
    I only want to allow the camera to move 180 degrees (90 in
    each direction)
    Any ideas on how to script this? I've this script (below) but
    do not know how to implement it:
    x = max(10,min(120, x - dragDist.locV))
    Is there an easier way?

    Damnit!! I'm having trouble with this as well....
    These are the relevant parts I have at the moment:
    Movie script:
    on startmovie
    set pRestrict = 0
    end
    3D world behaviour:
    property pRestrict
    on begineSprtie me
    pRestrict = pRestrict + (gPanRight-gPanLeft)
    pRestrict = max(-90, min(90, pRestrict))
    end
    on controlCamera me
    if gPanLeft then pCamera.transform.rotation.y = pRestrict
    end
    This has stopped the camera from panning at all! I have a
    feeling it might be glaringly obvious!!! Can anyone help (Mr
    Duckets?).

  • Camera Rotation

    How do you get the camera on an Android Device (Droid 2)  to rotate.  It always ends up sideways!

    Hi,
    I dont think we can be of much help here. You must look for options to catch the orientation change in your Android device and apropriately manipulate the container (Canvas, or VBox) that holds your WebCamSubscriber.
    Or the WebCamSubscriber extends UIComponent. So you can looks for options to manipulate the orientation of a UIComponent. Sorry for not being much help here as our main aim and focus is for the framework is to stress more on the basic component architecture rather than providing a standard high level components

  • Intuitive mouse camera rotations

    Hello,
    I am fairly new to Java3D so please forgive this post if its already been asked/answered.
    I am trying to get an intuitive mouse movement paradigm working in my Java3D application. I want to be able to move the scene graph's camera around an object centered around the origin of the scene graph. So essentially the object does not get moved, only the camera. The trick is that we want to move the camera around in a spherical coordinates fashion, that is, pan the camera left and right, tilt the camera up and down, etc. The camera distance will remain the same from the center of the universe, but will be "orbiting" around the object.
    I have successfully gotten these transformations done simply by translating the "pan" and "tilt" degrees (which is what the user changes to move the camera about), and the application works just fine. Except when the camera gets to one of the "poles" of the sphere in which the camera is moving on. When down by the poles, the camera movement is very unintuitive.
    I was wondering if anyone had success in a completely intuitive mouse movement paradigm (ala Selman's Tornado mouse listners) but for moving a camera about an object. It seems one would need to use a great cirlcle calculation instead of just converting angles into rectangular coordinates using the spherical coordiante conversion equations.
    If anyone can point me toward some tuts or ideas it would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance!

    //Below is an working example of Camera manipulation.
    //This may be the sort of idea you are after,and
    //gives the ability to simply add Walk,Pan,Zoom methods.

  • Camera rotation problem when exporting a camera from After Effects CC to Cinema 4D 15

    Looking around, this problem is happening to a few people, with no satisfactory solution.
    Basically, when I export an AE camera / project into C4D, everything looks great... till I notice that the camera's horizon will jump a few times.... so that if it were tilted 20 degrees to the left, it will pop to be tilted 20 degrees to the right.
    It's definitely not in the footage- it's a simple walk down a hallway. The AE track is fine- it's only in the C4D track that the problem arises.
    I've tried creating new AE projects, re-exporting, etc. I'm running AE CC and C4D 15.
    Anyone ever figure out how to fix / get around this?
    Thanks!

    It's 13.2.0.49... I just installed it yesterday.
    C4D is R15.008
    I'm wondering if I would have the same issue with C4D Lite, but I can't figure out how to open it (I assume it downloaded with AE). Rather than launch Lite, AE seems to automatically find C4D 15 and open that.
    I've been using AE and C4D for over 15 years, so I'm quite familiar with both. The bug is odd and quite disappointing, as I bought this version of AE specifically so that I could track footage and export the camera info into C4D.
    Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!

  • How do you restrict camera rotation on an axis?

    I have been trying to find some kind of posts on this after searching out the javascript API but can't find anything yet. Do you have to use the BINDING_MAX or binding property of the Camera object? If so can someone posts an example on how to do this?
    Basically I have a satellite map I want on a plane but its only on one side. I don't want users to be able to see underneath the plane so I need to restrict the camera axis.

  • Windows Camera compatible with Windows Vista, 7, and 8 in WPF

    Hey everyone,
    I am working on a Desktop application that uses DirectShow. It worked fine until we ran it on a Surface tablet in Windows 8. I need a way to control the camera rotation and DirectShow makes it quite difficult to implement.
    I would now like to update it to something that is better supported. Media Framework seems to be the solution but the examples I have found seem to apply to Win8, and work as Windows Store Apps.
    Does anyone know of some good example code that would help me figure out how to implement using a basic camera to take pictures in a Windows Desktop App, and easily access camera rotation? Alternatively, does anyone know of a 3rd party provider that has
    a camera solution I could purchase to incorporate into my code?
