XCode/Cocoa/10.5 SDK build problem

Hi all, this might be a vague post but I'm hoping someone may shed some light on this error message I get during compilations of a Cocoa user interface.
powerpc-apple-darwin9-gcc-4.0.1: installation problem, cannot exec '/Developer/usr/bin/../libexec/gcc/powerpc-apple-darwin9/4.0.1/cc1obj': Argument list too long
I have reinstalled XCode but I still get the error. The error did vanish after a clean build but has reappeared again. I'm a bit stumped, any ideas?

just in case anyone is following my internal dialogue or stumbles upon it in the future - I tracked the problem down to a new version of the boost library (1.37.0) - no idea why though.

DNG SDK build project cannot find the xml sdk

On win7/x64. Installed dng sdk and all dependencies per the readme files. xml sdk built OK with vc10 express, as 64 bit static and dll.
But the vc solution for dng_validate has incorrect names for the xml sdk build projects, so it cannot find those components. Specifically it looks for "..\..\..\xmp_sdk\build\vc\XMPCore.vcxproj". the actual paths in the xmp sdk are different and longer, like "..\..\..\xmp_sdk\build\vc10\dynamic\windows_x64". Moreover there is no XMPCore.vcxproj there.
I suppose the real problem may be that the dng sdk project is trying to build it as .net managed code, while the xml sdk was built as open code. So I guess what I am looking for is a way to build the dng sdk open.

I would confirm your post, but I have not found a solution. I wish someone at Adobe would look into this.

Latest sdk download problems

When I download the latest sdk build I can not uncompress it. It says it is corrupted??

This message is often the result of a caching problem. Clearing your cache may help.

OC4J 10.1.3 production: Build problem Adventure Builder 1.0.1 using EJB 3.0

Hi all,
I tried to use the migration to EJB 3.0 of the Adventure Builder 1.01 from Debu Panda and had some build problems.
Does anybody know if this demo was tested with the production version of 10.1.3?
I used the standalone version and had to tweak a lot of entries in ant-oracle.xml.
Is it possible that the migration was done with a preview release? Have there been so many changes? I had to include a bunch of additional JARs e.g ${J2EE_HOME}/lib/adminclient.jar, ${ORACLE_HOME}/webservices/lib/wsclient.jar. ${ORACLE_HOME}/lib/xmlparserv2.jar
and others.
Also I had to change some task definitions as I guess that the contents of ${ORACLE_HOME}/j2ee/utilities/ant-oracle-classes.jar must have changed...
If I did not do something terribly wrong it would be nice if you could update the example to save other people from this nightmare of running from one build error to the next!

thanks for your reply. I've used an previously installed ant 1.6.5 from ant.apache.org, but I don't think this should matter, or?
As far as I could see one of the problems is related to the version of ant-oracle-classes.jar in ${ORACLE_HOME}/j2ee/utilities which the example relies on.
In the adventure builder ant-oracle.xml you'll find task definitions like that:
taskdef resource="oracle/ant/taskdefs/deploy/antlib.xml" uri="http://www.oracle.com/ant/taskdefs" loaderRef="oracle.tasks.loader">which does not match with what one can find in ${ORACLE_HOME}/j2ee/utilities/ant-oracle-classes.jar
So from my point of view this has to be changed to
<taskdef resource="oracle/antlib.xml" uri="antlib:oracle" loaderRef="oracle.tasks.loader">I also had to change some libs... That's why I thought this example was made and tested with an earlier version of oc4j 10.1.3 (maybe a preview version).

Application Builder problem on one server but not another

I am having an Application Builder problem. When I get into App Express and go inside the builder and try to edit a listed application, I get an “http 404 the page cannot be found. The page might have had its name changed or is temporarily unavailable” situation. I can get into SQL commands, utilities, and administrative activities. I can also run the application. Also, if I go onto a different server with App Express on it, I can get into the builder and edit applications with no trouble. Our DBA had the server in question rebooted a little over a week ago and that took care of the problem for a couple days. Any ideas? Is this an Express problem or a server problem? He had also tried restarting Express before he had the reboot done and that didn’t help.

SDK Build Broken

I was following the commit logs and saw that http://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/SDK-18564 bug about the air updater framework being used with gumbo had been fixed.
I updated my trunk and tried to compile and got an error trying to compile the rsls. So I switched the i10 branch and now I have an error building the headless airupdater.

IPhone iPhone SDK (build 9M2199a, beta 8) Security.h Security-Framework

Hi!
I've downloaded and installed the iPhone SDK (build 9M2199a, beta 8).
Now, i'm trying to write code to use the Keychain in iPhone but "SecItem.h" in "Security.h" (Security-Framework) is missing so the Attributes (kSecClass, ...) can't be found and the code doesn't compile.
Where i can get it ?

I had the same issue. The security code seem to only work if you build for Device|Debug. You can't run the code in the simulator.

NWDS and DC Build Problem

Hi,
I recently installed a new version of NWDS on my workstation. This was an upgrade to Version 7.0.10 For some reason my DC will no longer build successfully since using the 7.0.10 version of NWDS. The error I get is:

I facing same problem. Can you help me how to resolve this. I want to convert existing WebDynpro project into NWDI. I followed two ways to achieve it.
1) I followed step by step in this help link

2) I newly created one DC (WebDynpro) project and there is an option "Import from existing local project" option.
I used both of them still there build problems in my DC.

Problem moving xcode cocoa c++ app to other mac's

Hi everyone,
My apologies if I am posting this in the wrong forum/section.
I am developing a C++ Cocoa app using the latest version of XCode on my MACOS which is running Mountain Lion. It is a fairly simple C++ app but upon copying the executable to another machine, it states that it will not run due to the version of MACOS being different. Apparently my wife has 10.7.5 and I have version > 10.8 so I'm confused how I can make my simple C++ app written in Cocoa work on other macs. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

XCode Ver: 4.5.2
Mac # 2
OS Ver: 10.7.5
1. On MAC # 1: In the XCode app, I right click on PRODUCTS folder and choose SHOW IN FINDER. I then grab the APP file and drag it to a brand new folder called "TEMP" on the desktop
2. I open up Disk Utility
3. Click on FILE -> NEW -> DISK IMAGE FROM FOLDER
4. I choose the the TEMP folder
5. It successfully creates the DMG file
6. I then right click the DMG file and press the COMPRESS option which zips it up
7. I then use a file sharing service (yousendit.com, sendspace.com, etc.) to submit the file
8. MAC # 2: I get the app, decompress it. I then double click the DMG file which opens the Disk Image
9. Upon double clicking on it, it states that there are compatibility issues and that the program is not able to run. I get two options 1) Ignore 2) Report.

Build problem with MacOSX10.6.8 (HelloWorld.aip)

Hello,
First, I work on Mac OSX 10.6.8, with SDK CS4 for Illustrator on XCode 3.2.6.
This configuration is compatible to develop with this SDK CS4?
Other question, more important because it is my problem.
I followed the gettingStarted.pdf in order to create the HelloWorld.aip on Macintosh, when I try to build, I can see "Succeeded" at the bottom right on the window of Xcode. But just next, they are an orange icon.
When I click on this icon, I have this message :
"Composite SDKs are not supported by XCode 2.4.
The current format is not compatible with build setting ADDITIONAL_SDKS of build configuration "Debug" of project "HelloWorld"".
In order to solve this project format confilcts, I edit the project setting and in project format of Xcode I set "XCode 3.2-compatible".
After that, the orange icon disappearing, and like before, when I build the project, I have "Suceeded".
But in the ouput file I have nothing. No HelloWorld.ai !
Someone could help me please ?
