Yes. I just took my Sony Camcorder to the APple store with my firewire cable and my MacBook pro running Tiger. (as does my Imac). So the xfer worked fine at the Apple store, but when I get home and hook the camcorder up to my Imac and do everything the same, I get an "Unable to intialize HDV deck" message. Played with cable, rebooted everything several times. but my FC Express in my Imac will not see the camcorder. Any thoughts on what else to try?

Please give your full system specifications, what computer, what drives, what camera or deck, how everything's connected, what settings are on the media, what settings you're using in Final Cut, and finally what version of the software, of the OS, and of QuickTime you are using.

I am teaching myself Dreamweaver CS4, having been forced to migrate from GoLive. Am building a website and want to use Spry Menu Bar. Create page, save page, insert Spry Menu Bar, save page. On MacBook Pro, menu bar appears with Spry Menu Tab attached. On iMac, menu bar shows up WITHOUT Spry Menu Tab, which precludes the correct Property Window from appearing. Its not the first time I hear that. Its clearly a Dreamweaver issue instead of Spry issue.
In design mode, if you hover over the inserted menu bar, does it get a blue color? If yes, what happens if you click the blue label "Spry Menu Bar: Menubar{x}"? It should display in the properties panel.
If not could please provide us with a screenshot?

My WD My Passport SE USB 3.0 works with MacBook Pro but NOT new iMAC?

The drive works fine on my MacBook and I can see it from the iMAC when I share it. but the iMac will not recognise it, nothing in Disk Utility, when plugged directly in.
WD are unable to help as I don't believe there is a USB 3.0 Y cable in the UK and the latest firmware, which supposedly fixes a 'read with Lion OS' issue, does not make a difference.
Any helps????

I've done dwb's suggestion #3, removing the perfectly good WD bare drive from their perfectly bad enclosures and installing it in an enclosure from Other World Computing. Their enclosures always work; "name-brand" enclosures seem to be very troublesome.
The cheapest option after resetting the PRAM/NVRAM is to get a powered USB2 hub as in dwb's #2. The Passport must get all power from the computer's USB port and, if you have a lot of USB devices attached, there may not be enough power left to turn the drive. A powered USB hub has an independent power supply so devices attached to it are not competing for power.
Although I've not tried it, there are positive reports that using Disk Utility to reformat the drive for Macintosh (they are formatted for Windoze when they ship) made the drive behave without resorting to an enclosure or a powered hub.

Assuming you are in a region where you are allowed to redownload your past music purchases, delete the current copies from your iTunes library, go to the iTunes Store home page, click the Purchased link from the Quick Links section in the right-hand column, then select Music and Not on this computer. You should find download links for your tracks there.
If the problem persists, or that facility is not yet available in your region, contact the iTunes Store support staff through the report a problem links in your account history, or via Contact Support.

First open up Imovie. Then plug the camcorder into the USB port. The computer will search for the camera. It will give a snapshot of what is on there. You can just click on CHECK ALL. It will begin to import. It will also tell you how long it will take. Once it is imported, click DONE. THEN, this is important, drag the snapshots into IMovie on the top to create a new project. You can also click on New Project and name it. When all the pics are in the movie, it will be saved. You can then edit it any way you want. I've done this many times on a Mac. My problem is the internal memory. I have to find out how to get the internal memory videos into my computer. Am currently researching it. BTW, importing from the memory stick is what I did above. Hope this helps.

That could be a challenge. If I am not mistaken that camera strictly records to DVD - RW and has no digital output connectors, is that right?
My only experience with a camera like that was a bad one. I was able to get the video off the disc using a tray-loading iMac but it was painfully slow.
iMovie (for example) is designed to work with camcorders such as those specified in this reference:

You might consider finding an external USB slot-loading DVD drive, but as I say my experience was painfully slow, and you might run into file format compatibility challenges.
I am sure it's possible but it won't be as easy as importing video from something like an iPad or iPhone. I still use a camcorder on occasion but it has a FireWire port. That's easy.

On an iOS 7 device
In the Photos app, tap Shared at the bottom of the screen, then tap Streams at the top of the screen.
Tap the shared stream whose subscribers you want to manage, then tap People.The Activity stream doesn’t have subscribers.
Do any of the following:
To invite more people, tap Invite People, enter email addresses or tap the Add button to select from your contacts, then tap Add.
To remove a subscriber, tap the subscriber, then tap Remove Subscriber.
To choose whether subscribers can add photos and videos, tap Subscribers Can Post.
If the subscriber list doesn’t include Invite People, you don’t own the shared stream.

Thanks for your reply. This video was recorded by my own professional camera, Sony PMW EX 3, two years back. But I am neither a professional cameraman nor an editor. I am just like a beginner in both. I didnt have space in my storage device, so I just copied all my clips, thinking I can edit it latter, without recompressing or editing or whatever I should have done it at that point of time. Now I need to edit it and use it in my profession. I am very upset. Please help me in going step by step to get it in FCP X for editing. Also I would like to know, do I need to buy the Compressor 4 for any reason. I dont mind in buying, if you think it is going to be useful for some reason. Apparently my first response was off in left field. The DVD player has its own code. My recommendation is to change the code when it asks. It is possible that the disks that play correctly are region-free and the ones that don't have a region code. If this does not work, you still have four more changes available; you won't be stuck with the new code.

I had iCloud photo libraey turned on on both my iPad and iPhone. As said by the feature, photos and videos were being transferred automatically from each device to each other. I have a 64GB iPad Air 2 and my iPhone 5 only has 16GB of storage so I am lacking much more space on my iPhone than my iPad. I was wondering if there was a way to transfer photos only from my iPhone to my iPad but not from my iPad to my iPhone. Would turning off iCloud Photo library on my iPad do the trick? iCloud Photo Library keeps all of your photos in the Cloud which you then can selectively download. So, unless you download the iPad photos, they are not going to be taking up any room on your iPhone:
