Xml Exception with JDK1.5

I wrote some code using java 1.4.2 on a linux machine and it works fine .
Now I am using the same code using JDK 1.5 on a slorais machine.And it is raising following exception
javax.xml.transform.TransformerFactoryConfigurationError: Provider org.apache.xalan.processor.TransformerFactoryImpl not found
Does any one have any idea?

Hi
I've got the same problem with jdk 1.5 and tomcat 5.0 and I've found the problem
in tomcat java is called with the following argument:
-Djava.endorsed.dirs="X:\my_app\Portal\tomcat\common\endorsed"
In this directory you find two jar files: xercesImpl.jar and xml-apis.jar needed by tomcat and that must be loaded before all xmsl stuff present in the jdk (1.4 naming problem). And in the file xml-apis.jar the TransformerFactoryImpl is set to "org.apache.xalan.processor.TransformerFactoryImpl".
The solution: remove the file xml-apis.jar from the directory.
For other application, just check this file or dom3-xml-apis.jar in your class path

  • XML parsers with JDK1.5

    Does anyone know if the xml parsers that are shipped with JDK1.5 conform to DOM level2 or DOM level3 specification? I am not sure how to locate the parser that is shipped with the JDK either!

    Thanks ! It says the parser is xerces, but does not tell which version of xerces!

  • XML validation with DTD in java 1.5 not supporting

    Hi,
    I am facing a problem regarding validation of xml file with DTD tag in it.
    I have disabled the parser through setValidating(false) method.
    xml file is not parsed in JRE 1.5.but it is parsed in JRE 1.6.
    Why this is showing such a behavior?
    I have used xerces 2.9.0,xml-api.jar and other jar regarding XML api but still it is giving error.
    please help me.
    please provide a jar file name or its issue resolution in jre 1.5 or 1.4.

    thanks for your prompt reply.
    I required that it should be completely disabled in jre 1.5(jdk1.5 or 1.4).
    I am using DOM Parsing.I have currently disabled with follwowing method,
    builderFactory.setValidating(false);
    builderFactory.setFeature("http://xml.org/sax/features/validation",
         false);
         builderFactory.setFeature("http://apache.org/xml/features/nonvalidating/load-dtd-grammar", false);
         builderFactory.setFeature("http://apache.org/xml/features/nonvalidating/load-external-dtd",false);
         builderFactory.setFeature("http://xml.org/sax/features/external-general-entities", false);

         factory.setFeature("http://apache.org/xml/features/nonvalidating/load-external-dtd", false);
    in 1.6 it is working fine but I required that i have to disabled it.but it is giving a error in jre1.5.

  • JAXP: code works with JDK1.3.1/Xerces but not JDK1.4.1

    Switching from JDK 1.3.1 with the Xerces XML parser to JDK 1.4.1 with its
    bundled XML parser breaks my code. Here is the exception I am
    seeing:
    Exception in thread "main" com.post.bean.BeanException com.post.bean.Bea
    nException: Relative URI "bean.dtd"; can not be resolved without a base URI.
    at com.post.bean.BeanSerializer.deserialize(BeanSerializer.java:176)
    at com.post.BeanSerializer1.deserialize(BeanSerializer1.java:38)
    at com.post.BeanSerializer1.main(BeanSerializer1.java:17)
    Here is a code fragment that worked fine with JDK1.3.1 and xerces but
    not with JDK1.4.1:
    public static Object deserialize(InputStream input, EntityResolver
    resolver)
    throws BeanException
    Object bean = null;
    try
    DocumentBuilderFactory factory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
    factory.setValidating(true);
    factory.setNamespaceAware(false);
    DocumentBuilder builder = factory.newDocumentBuilder();
    if (resolver != null)
    builder.setEntityResolver(resolver);
    Document doc = builder.parse(input); // exception thrown here
    Element root = doc.getDocumentElement();
    The entity resolver I'm using searches for dtds in
    a certain directory. Again this works fine with JDK1.3.1
    and Xerces but not with JDK1.4.1.
    Any ideas on how to remedy this situation?
    Thanks

    this generally happens when two similar libs conflict with each other. Try any of theses quick fixes: (Remember, 90% of probs in java are Classpath, packages and directory structure issues)
    1. remove completely your previous version of JDK and Xerces.
    2. Remove your classpath variable from system path.
    3. Have "only the required" jar files during compilation. For this use the -D option.
    4. If everything fails, download ANT. Write a simple build.xml file. This is a good replacement to the -D option. But make sure, you are working in a clean JDK environment. Try to monitor your classpaths at run time, and get rid of all the unnecessary once.
    5. MAke sure that Xerces libs bundled with 1.4 are in your classpath at runtime.
    Finally All the best, and happy XMLing+Javing !!

  • Problem with passing exception with declarative security

    I am having a problem with passing exceptions with message security bunding enables. I have a JAXWS EJB 3.0 web service, The service defines methods which throw exceptions. The exceptions are passed correclty when there is no message security enabled. once the security is enabled and an exception is thrown, I get the stack trace below. Furthermore, the service with security enabled works fine as long as methods do not throw an exception. I am thinking that the JAXWS generated wrapped exception is not correctly handled by the message security provider in the server. Just a thought. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
    Thanks for the reply. I read the weblog and posted a reply to it already.
    History:
    I actually have a web service where I have message level security enabled and it works great. I had some issues early on with descriptor but those are worked out. As I was testing, I created a test case that throws an exception. That is when I get the NAMESPACE_ERROR, jauth exceptions , etc.
    Attempt to find issue:
    Glassfish: V1 (glassfish-installer-9.0-b48.jar), jdk1.5.0_11
    Code: EJB tech tip EJB30 web service
    Security: message security, specified almost verbatim to how it is done in the link you mention.
    Sample works fine until I modify the web service to throw an exception. Once I do that, I get the NAMESPACE_ERROR stack trace I posted in original message. The sample in the tech tip uses the embedded app-client.
    Thanks for helping with this.

  • How can I save a XML file with JAXP1.1?

    Dear All.
    I write a program to create XML file with DOM model, but I can't know how to save it? My environment is JAXP1.1 and JDK1.3.1,I has been required not use other XML parser toolkits,only JAXP1.1.
    How can I do? thank you.
    Many person give me a idea the com.sun.xml.tree.XmlDocument, but I can't find the class in API document or JAXP1.1's packages. why?
    what is it? How can i use it?
    thank you very much.

    The way to save an XML Document is using a Transformer.
    To have access to a transformer use the packages :
    import javax.xml.transform.*;
    import javax.xml.transform.dom.*;
    import javax.xml.transform.stream.*;
    Then for saving your Document Object (named dXml) get a Transformer Object with the TransformerFactory Object :
    TransformerFactory tf = TransformerFactory.newInstance();
    Transformer t = tf.newTransformer();
    Now you have got your Transformer Object, to save your Document Object use the method :
    Document dXml = getMyDocument(); // this is your Document Object.
    OutputStream osSave = getMySaveStream(); // this the OutputStream you need to save your Document.
    try
    t.transform(new DomSource(dXml), new StreamResult(new OutputStreamWriter(osSave)));
    finally
    osSave.close();
    And your Document was now saved.

  • Catch all error information while validating xml content with xsd schema

    Hi experts,
    I created a java mapping to validating the input xml content with xsd schema (schema validation). What I want is to catch all error message to the xml not just the first error. I used SAXParser in sapxmltoolkit.jar to do the schema validation. The below is a part of my java mapping.
    XMLReader parser = XMLReaderFactory.createXMLReader("com.sap.engine.lib.xml.parser.SAXParser");
    parser.setFeature( "http://xml.org/sax/features/validation" ,  true);
    parser.setFeature( "http://apache.org/xml/features/validation/schema" , true);
    parser.setProperty("http://java.sun.com/xml/jaxp/properties/schemaLanguage", "http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema");          parser.setProperty("http://java.sun.com/xml/jaxp/properties/schemaSource",this.getClass().getClassLoader().getResourceAsStream(schema)); // schema is my schema name
    parser.setErrorHandler(new ParseErrorHandler()); // ParseErrorHandler is my own ErrorHandler which extends DefaultHandler
    parser.parse(new InputSource(new ByteArrayInputStream(sinput.getBytes())));
    // In error handler, I comment all code so as not to throw any exception
    public class ParseErrorHandler extends DefaultHandler
         public void error(SAXParseException e) throws SAXException
              // sSystem.out.println("Error" + e.getMessage());
              // throw e;
         public void fatalError(SAXParseException e)
              // throw e;
              // System.out.println("SAP Fatal Error" + e.getMessage());
    Unfortunately the program always stopped while catching the first error. Check the below log.

  • Create xml file with values from context

    Hi experts!
    I am trying to implement a WD application that will have some input fields, the value of those input fields will be used to create an xml file with a certain format and then sent to a certain application.
    Apart from this i want to read an xml file back from the application and then fill some other context nodes with values from the xml file.
    Is there any standard used code to do this??
    If not how can i do this???
    Thanx in advance!!!
    P.S. Points will be rewarded to all usefull answers.

    Please stop this P.S. nonsense!

    Hi,
    you need to create three util class for that:-
    XMLHandler
    XMLParser
    XMLBuilder
    for example in my XML two tag item will be there e.g. Title and Organizer,and from ur WebDynpro view you need to pass value for the XML tag.
    And u need to call buildXML()function of builder class to generate XML, in that i have passed bean object to get the values of tags. you need to set the value in bean from the view ui context.

    I am trying to use Report to output an xml file with header, body and trailer regions. However, I find that the tool does not allow me to create a header region with info like <report_date>, <report_name>, <report_desc> etc.
    Moreover, the tool is not flexible that in the group level, it always automatically fills in the outer tag for me even if I intentionally leave it blank.
    So, except using the XML file output function, is there any other way outputing XML file using the tool? Otherwise, I may need to hard code a program to do so!
    Thanks for your advice!
    Shoshi

    Hi
    Reports XML file is driven by your queries and groups therein. This means that the groups (and break groups) are represented in XML form.
    It is not driven by the layout. So your header region does not appear.
    What I suggest is that you need to create a report level formula column in the Data Model. The formula returns date, name and description etc. Since this is a part of Data Model now, it will appear in the XML output.

  • Combine several XML files with same structure

    Hello,
    I have several XML files with the same structure and I want to combine them and create a new XML file to be bale to compare that information easily. It does not look very difficult but as I am very new in this I am not bale to get it
    The structure of my actual files would be something simlar to:
    Root->...-> Name->Address, Telephone
    And what I would like to have si something like
    Root->.... ->Address-> Name 1,Name 2....
    Root -> ...->Telephone-> Name 1, Name 2....
    Does anyone know how to do this.
    Thanks

    You could write a XSL transformation file that does this and transform your input file via
         * Transform XML file with a style sheet.
         * <p><b>Example:</b><p>
    <table align="center" bgcolor="#E0E0E0" border=1 cellpadding="10" cellspacing="0"><tr><td><pre style="margin-top:0; margin-bottom:0">
    XMLTransformer t = new XMLTransformer();
    FileOutputStream fos = new FileOutputStream("C:/Project/result.html");
    String xmlFile = "C:/Project/source.xml";
    String styleSheet = "C:/Project/stylesheet.xsl";
    t.transform(xmlFile, styleSheet, fos);
    </pre></td></tr></table>
         * @param xmlfile The XML file to transform.
         * @param style Stylesheet to use for transformation.
         * @param outputStream OutputStream to write the transformed result to.

  • How do you display xml file with xlst sheet in jsp

    I have an xml file with accompanying xslt file (and several images that are used in a single directory. If I doubleclick on the xml file, it displays perfectly in my browser - Formatting, images and all!
              The 100 dollar question - How do I duplicate this behavior in a JSP page in WebLogic 8.1 using the code in the xml and the accompanying xslt (formatting) file? I tried simple embedding the xml code in the jsp, but that didn't seem to work. What is the secret?
              Okay, I need to add a bit more information here. I understand that it is really easy to just redirect to the XML file. The issue is really security. I want the XML to be inside a jsp that will only allow validated users to view it.
              Another way to look at the problem would be, can I add a jsp security tag to the xml file? Or how to I add the xml code inside a jsp and keep the path references to the xslt and graphics.
              Hope the added information helps
              Thanks,
              Ken

  • "Error while using XML iview" with XML iview template

    Our portal platform: HP-UX,  WAS 6.40 JAVA, EP 6.0 SP14
    We created an XML iview using XML iview template and configured the XML source URL with RSS feeder addresses such as"https://forums.sdn.sap.com/rss/rssmessages.jsp?forumID=41". And then select RSS to XHTMLB as the XML transformation format and save.  When I try to preview the iview, I always got error "Error while using XML iview, please contact your system administrator".  Here is the log and among which I found an error "java.net.UnknownHostException: news.163.com".  Does this indicate that the Portal server is not able to interpret the address of the URL host?

    Hi!

            try{
                DocumentBuilder builder = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance().newDocumentBuilder();
                Document doc = builder.parse(url);
                NodeList nodes = doc.getElementsByTagName("item");
                for (int i = 0; i < nodes.getLength(); i++) {

    I read files from the web, but there is a XML tag
    with the encoding attribute in the RSS file.If you are quite sure that you have an encoding attribute set to ISO-8859-1 then I expect that your RSS file has non-ISO-8859-1 character though I thought all bytes -128 to 127 were valid ISO-8859-1 characters!
    Many years ago I had a problem with an XML file with invalid characters. I wrote a simple filter (using FilterInputStream) that made sure that all the byes it processed were ASCII. My problem turned out to be characters with value zero which the Microsoft XML parser failed to process. It put the parser in an infinite loop!
    In the filter, as each byte is read you could write out the Hex value. That way you should be able to find the offending character(s).
