XML File Input: Standard BO

Hi, experts,
Is it possible to add new instances(eg. Customer) to standard BOs(eg.Customer) by XML file input of Service Integration or web services?
May T.
Regards,

Hi May,
Did you check this work center mass data maintenance ?
As far as I know this provides you a kind of xml upload functionality for standard objects.

  • How-to use Excel for the XML file input?

    Hello all,
    Following our discussion with Gerhard Steinhuber on the very nice tutorial from Horst Schaude , "How to upload mass data via XML File Input" , I am starting this new discussion.
    In the comments section of this previous cited tutorial, Rufat Gadirov explains how to use a generated XML from Eclipse instead of your XSD file as your source in Excel.
    However, in spite of all the instructions, I am still facing the same issue in Excel when I try to save my file as XML : "The XML maps in this workbook are not exportable".
    What I try to do is to create one or more Sales Orders with multiple Items in it from a XML File Input, using excel to enter data.
    The part with the File input is working (if I directly upload my file to the webDAV, it creates a sales order instance with multiple items).
    The only missing part is the Excel data input that I cannot make work. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
    Here is my XML file that I try to use as a source in Excel before inputing data from Excel:

    Hello Jacques-Antoine,
    I suppose that as you have tried to construct a map from the schema, you have taken the elements from the List level down. In this case I also can't export the map.
    But if you take the elements from the level MySalesOrderUploaded down, you'll get the exportable map (screenshots)

  • Importing xml file using standard maps in mdm

    Hi Experts,
    In a scenario of getting the data from ECC system to the MDM system(using MDM standard business contents and standard Maps), we are  two cases.
    Case 1 : Using MDM_CLNT_EXTR, we extract the main table records into the standard IDoc structure and sent to PI and PI converts this standard IDoc in to an XML file and sends it to the inbound folder of MDM and from there using the standard map, it is imported into MDM.(most common method of implementation)
    Case 2: we are using XML File option in Partner Profile to store the XML file in the Global Directory of ECC system and we are generating XML files using the transactions BD10, BD12 and BD14 for the respective business objects.And then copy these XML files from the Global directory and plae it in the inbound folder of MDM manually.
    Now the question is can the xml file in the case 2 be used as a substitute for the xml of case1 and
    can we use the same standard map to import the XML file abtained from case2?
    Please share your experience to solve this issue.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Sravan.

    Hi Sravan,
    this depends on the business content you are using. Some parts of the content use XSLT mappings on PI to change the message content. Please refer to the related SAP content notes for details:
    MDM Business Partner Content (SAP Note 1035773)
    MDM Customer Content (SAP Note 1252884)
    MDM Employee Content (SAP Note 1268212)
    MDM Material Content (SAP Note 1255401)
    MDM Product Content (SAP Note 1252846)
    MDM Vendor Content (SAP Note 1252883)

  • How to map XML File input to VO (eventually to update table) upon fileupld

    Reqirement: I am downloading an XML File (basically name-value pair) from user using OAMessageFileUploadBean. I need to take this file and update to an existing record in the table (cs_incidents_all). XML File schema is well-known in advance.
    Approach: Don't know what is the best, but I'm thinking if there is an OAF way to map the XML File (Blobdomain) to VO and get the rowIMPL.getColumn1Value to fetch all the datavalues then loop thru all the columns (xml-tags) and finally call plsql APIs which will update/insert into table (cs_incidents_all)
    Is this possible in OAF? If so please shed some light as to how to map XML File to VO.
    If this is not possible then please let me know the other way. I have to do this inside the oaf.
    Thank you,

    Can someone please let me know if this is possible in OAF?

  • Service Integration: XML File Input

    Hi, experts,
    I am having this error while mapping the XML File Schema onto the EXCEL.
    Please tell me what is the problem.
    Regards,
    May T.

    Hi, Tim,
    Thanks for your reply.
      I created a custom BO.That contains
      [AlternativeKey]element BonusPlanID:ID;
      element BonusPlanID2:ID;
      element EmployeeID:EmployeeID;
    And I created a ServiceIntegration from that BO.
    I got a PID file for that. When I activated it, I got an xsd file.
    When I open that xsd file in  the Excel(Developer-->Source-->XML maps), it is giving me such error.

  • XML file input and parsing

    In looking through the documentation for XML handling, I can
    find no command for something as basic as how to read in a local
    XML file for parsing and processing.
    Can someone recommend a site with example code for
    manipulating XML files?
    I've done some of this before in Java and Perl. Does
    ActionScript have similar facilities?

    hsfrey,
    I often put XML files onto the web server and then access
    from Flex code. Something like this:
    protected function load_settings_data():void
    try
    data_URL = "./data_settings.xml";
    data_request = new URLRequest(settings_data_URL);
    data_loader = new URLLoader(settings_data_request);
    data_loader.addEventListener("complete",
    settings_data_loaded);
    data_loader.addEventListener("ioError",
    settings_data_error);
    } // try
    catch (error:Error)
    Alert.show("load_settings_data - error message " +
    error.toString());
    } // catch
    } // load_settings_data
    protected function settings_data_error(e:IOErrorEvent):void
    Alert.show("ioError handled in settings_data_error: error "
    + e.text);
    } // settings_data_error
    protected function settings_data_loaded(event:Event):void
    xml_to_use = XML(data_loader.data);
    // do whatever you want with xml_to_use
    } // settings_data_loaded
    However, while you are developing on the local machine you
    will probably want to have some dummy data in a variable:
    [Bindable]
    protected var data_internal:XML =
    <root>
    <stuff>abc</stuff>
    </root>
    and swap this data in in the catch part of the first
    statement. Obviously the dummy data has to have the right structure
    but you can usually get away with just a few entries rather than
    the whole lot. Once you are happy, forget the local variable, put
    back the error handling and just use the file on your web server
    which can be updated whenever you want independently of the swf
    application.
    Hope that helps,
    Richard

  • How to convert an XML file (input data) into a SOAP message?

    Hi there,
    I recently wrote a dummy program to retrieve data from a web service. The program simply read from an input file (the xml content) and send it to the web service, the return result is store in a file (xml). I wish to 'upgrade' this approach of reading and writing from/to a file and have it done by SOAP. For some reason, I'm unable to do so.
    The data on the xml input file that I sent is this:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <soap12:Envelope xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:soap12="http://www.w3.org/2003/05/soap-envelope">
    <soap12:Body>
    <Upgrade xmlns="http://tempuri.org/">
    <upgrade>
    <User>John</User>
    <Password>javalava</Password>
    <EmployeeId>77384</EmployeeId>
    <Rank>Q6</Rank>
    </upgrade>
    </Upgrade>
    </soap12:Body>
    </soap12:Envelope>
    When trying to upgrade to SOAPEnvelope it fails.
    Thanks for any pointers!!!

    I was trying (unsuccessfully) g to write something like this
    * sorry I don't know what are the tags for <code></code>
    <code>
    public static SOAPMessage prepareMessage(String username, String password, String emplID) throws SOAPException
         SOAPMessage soapMsg = MessageFactory.newInstance(SOAPConstants.SOAP_1_2_PROTOCOL).createMessage();
    // SOAP body
    String prefix = "tns";
    String uri = "http://tempuri.org/Upgrade";
    SOAPEnvelope envelope = soapMsg.getSOAPPart().getEnvelope();
    SOAPBody body = envelope.getBody();
    SOAPBodyElement service = body.addBodyElement(envelope.createName("Upgrade", prefix, uri)); //there are 2 Upgrade in the XML (Upgrade and another upgrade, but I couldn't figure out how to that here)
    SOAPElement symbol = service.addChildElement(envelope.createName("User", prefix, uri));
    symbol.addTextNode(username);
    symbol = service.addChildElement(envelope.createName("Password", prefix, uri));
    symbol.addTextNode(password);
    symbol = service.addChildElement(envelope.createName("EmployeeId", prefix, uri));
    symbol.addTextNode(emplID);
    return soapMsg;

  • XML File Input to Generated Classes

    Hi,
    I looked at the Oracle Class Generator and used it to generate
    some class files for a sample dtd schema that I had. Upon
    looking at the classes that were generated, I saw only APIs to
    construct instances thru regular means (providing values to
    members) and APIs to print the XML representation to an output
    stream.
    However, I this functionality is not as complete as I expected it
    to be. I expected the document class to include a constructor
    that will simply take an XML document object and populate the
    various members automatically. Is this functionality really
    non-existent at this point ? Is it in the works ?
    Let me know

    You are correct that the Class Generator does not have this
    functionality at this time as our parser only can build DOM
    trees. We have logged your enhancement request.

  • Export into XML file

    Hi Community,
    via the SDK it is possible to create XML File input routines for XML files from WebDAV.
    We need a similar technique for outbound XML File output.
    What possibilities do we have? Are there similar ways for XML output?
    Thanks
    Thomas

    There are no similar ways. Your question is more towards creating XML files from Cloud product with the help of studio.
    You can take help of attachment folder. You can create files. Couple of things you have to keep in mind.
    New line representation :: "\r\n"
    Makes sure that you have .xml extension for your file name which you are gonna attach.
    File content has to be populated by your absl code. I've worked on something similar earlier. So, I can say this is possible but you have be careful that you should not miss file format standards.
    FileContent datatype inside AttachmentFolder has no restrictions in size.

  • Reading A xml file and sending that XML Data as input  to a Service

    Hi All,
    I have a requirement to read(I am using File adapter to read) a xml file and map the data in that xml to a service(schema) input variable.
    Example of  xml file that I have to read and the content of that xml file like below:
      <StudentList>
        <student>
           <Name> ravi</Name>
           <branch>EEE</branch>
          <fathername> raghu</fathername>
        </student>
      <student>
           <Name> raju</Name>
           <branch>ECE</branch>
          <fathername> ravi</fathername>
        </student>
    <StudentList>
    I have to pass the data(ravi,EEE,raghu etc) to a service input varible. That invoked Service input variable(schema) contains the schema similar to above schema.
    My flow is like below:
      ReadFile file adapter -------------------> BPEL process -----> Target Service.I am using transform activity in BPEL process to map the data from xml file to Service.
    I am using above xml file as sample in Native Data format(to create XSD schema file).
    After I built the process,I checked file adapter polls the data and receive the file(I am getting View xml document in EM console flow).
    But transform activity does not have anything and it is not mapping the data.I am getting blank data in the transform activity with only element names like below
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------EM console Audit trail (I am giving this because u can clearly understand what is happening-----------------------------------------------------
       -ReceiveFile
            -some datedetails      received file
              View XML document  (This xml contains data and structure like above  xml )
        - transformData:
            <payload>
              <InvokeService_inputvariable>
                  <part name="body">
                     <StudentList>
                         <student>
                           <name/>
                            <branch/>
                            <fathername/>
                         </student>
                   </StudentList>
              </part>
             </InvokeService_inputvariable>
    'Why I am getting like this".Is there any problem with native data format configuration.?
    Please help me out regarding this issue as I am running out my time.

    Hi syam,
    Thank you very much for your replies so far so that I have some progrees in my task.
    As you told I could have put default directory in composite.xml,but what happenes is the everyday new final subdirectory gets created  in the 'soafolder' folder.What I mean is in  the c:/soafolder/1234_xmlfiles folder, the '1234_xmlfiles' is not manually created one.It is created automatically by executing some jar.
    Basically we can't know the sub folder name until it is created by jar with its own logic. whereas main folder is same(soafolder) ever.
    I will give you example with our folder name so that it would be more convenient for us to understand.
    1) yesterday's  the folder structure :  'c:/soafolder/130731_LS' .The  '130731_LS' folder is created automatically by executing some jar file(it has its own logic to control and create the subdirectories which is not in our control).
    2) Today's folder structure :  'c:/soafolder/130804_LS. The folder is created automatically(everytime the number part(130731,130804).I think that number is indicating 2013 july 31 st like that.I have to enquire about this)is changing) at a particular time and xml files will be loaded in the folder.
    Our challenge : It is not that we can put the default or further path in composite.xml and poll the file adapter.Not everytime we have to change the path in composite.xml.The process should know the folder path (I don't know whether it is possible or not.) and  everyday and file adapter poll the files in that created subfolders.
    I hope you can understand my requirement .Please help me out in this regard.

  • XML File - Problem.with naming tags with XI standard functions

    Hello,
    simple (?) problem:
    Receiver expects an XML file via file adapter.
    (The source data comes from an RFC connect to XI.)
    In the XML tags like these are expected (following W3C definitions):
    A)   </gdt:ValueGroup>
    How to define a data type with a ":" in its name or to convert it to the required tag?
    B)   <gdt:ExtendedAttribute gdt:guid="4c102d6b077de7c1f0e27391e40bb80f" gdt:code="X01" >GR2 LI3</gdt:ExtendedAttribute>
    This one is a real nice one. The part with "gtd:guid=" within the tag is variable. How to add such values into tag names?
    Any ideas if this is possible with standard and how.
    If this is the limit of XI I think we need an XSLT- or JAVA-maping program to generate the required file.
    Thank you for any help!
    Best regards
    Dirk

    Hi Dirk,
    just one thing:
    >>>>The part with "gtd:guid=" within the tag is variable.
    this is ok as it's just an attribute
    of the ExtendedAttribute tag's name
    so it can be variable without any problems
    (you can fill it in the mapping for example)

  • SQL Server 2012 Management Studio:Importing XML file to new Table of new Database-XML parsing: unexpected end of input???

    Hi all,
    In the Notepad, I created an xml file (ZenQroducts.xml) :
    <Qroducts>
    <Qroduct>
    <SKU>1</SKU>
    <Desc>Book</Desc>
    </Qroduct>
    <Qroduct>
    <SKU>2</SKU>
    <Desc>DVD</Desc>
    </Qroduct>
    <Qroduct>
    <SKU>3</SKU>
    <Desc>Video</Desc>
    </Qroduct>
    In my SQL Server 2012 Management Studio, I executed the following code:
    --to create a new object Qroducts in a new database OPENXMLtesting
    CREATE DATABASE OPENXMLtesting
    GO
    CREATE TABLE Qroducts(
    sku INT Primary KEY,
    qroduct_desc VARCHAR(30));
    INSERT INTO Qroducts (sku, qroduct_desc)
    SELECT X.qroduct.query('SKU').value('.', 'INT'),
    X.qroduct.query('Desc').value('.', 'VARCHAR(30)')
    FROM (
    SELECT CAST(x AS XML)
    FROM OPENROWSET(
    BULK 'H:\ZenQroducts.xml',
    SINGLE_BLOB) AS T(x)
    ) AS T(x)
    CROSS APPLY x.nodes('Qroducts/Qroduct') AS X(qroduct);
    SELECT sku, qroduct_desc
    FROM Qroducts;
    I got the following message:
    Msg 9400, Level 16, State 1, Line 6
    XML parsing: line 13, character 12, unexpected end of input
    I have no ideas why I got this "XML parsing:line 13, character12, unexpected end of input" message. Please kindly help, advise me on where I made mistake and how I can resolve this problem, and respond in this Forum.
    Thanks in advance,
    Scott Chang

    Hi Manish, Thanks for your response.
    Yes, it is a duplicate with Qroducts/Qroduct instead of Products/Product. I did it, because I don't know how to remove the existing "Products" database.
    Again, I got the existing "Qroducts" database in this second trial!!??  I am comletely lost in doing "Importing XML file to SQL Table" now!!  I think that I have not touched T-SQL and XML programming, since 2008. I
    did not catch the new features of T-SQL 2008, XML, SQL/XML, XQuery, etc. for long time. Recently, I did not know what DECLARE, @x, SET,...were, and dived into the SQL/XML and XQuery programming. I knew the SQL Basics (SELECT, FROM, WHERE,..), creating
    the names of databases and tables in SQL Server 2008/2012 Management Studio (Express) before. This morning, I found an old T-SQL 2008 Prgrammer's Guide that has the new features of SQL Server 2008 for T-SQL, XML, XQuery, etc. I just starting reading
    it to know what DECLARE, @x, SET,... are. But, I still don't know where the existing databases "Products" and "Qroducts" (created by me) are - they are not in the Databases of SQL Server 2012 Management Studio I am using!!??  Could
    you please kindly point out where the "Products" and "Qroducts" databases are?
    Prashanth responded to my posted question too and he asked to to try his code: DECLARE @xml XML, SELECT @xml =' <Qroducts>.....SELECT product.value.....FROM @XML.nodes.....AS.... I just learned that his code is doing the thing we
    want to do and print the results below the SQL Query. This is not what I need in doing my SQL/XML programming. I am reading/studying the new (2008) features of T-SQL, XQuery 1.0: An XML Query Language (Second Edition), and Microsoft XQuery Language Reference
    (SQL Server 2012 Books Online) closely now. I hope that I can resume the T-SQL, XML Query, SQL/XML, XQuery in my SQL Server 2012 Management Studio soon.
    Please tell me  where the existing databases "Products" and "Qroducts" I created in my previous trials in my SQL Server 2012 Management Studio.  This is what I need to know and to delete them, before I do this kind of "Importing
    XML file to Table of SQL Server 2012 Management Studio"  programming again.
    Please kindly help, advise and respond again.
    Many Thanks,
    Scott Chang

  • Parse XML input stream (no .xml file)?

    i have a java applet calling a web service that returns XML data as an input stream (char by char from SOAP) to this applet. if i append a all the chars to a string, is there some XML tool that will parse the string as if it were an XML document (like a getElement functions)?
    the applet cannot write the data to a .xml file, and i don't want to mess around with .jarsigning. any ideas?
    thanks,
    jonathan

    The XML parsers you are likely to be using support receiving input from a variety of sources besides files. For example you could parse XML from a String variable by passing a StringReader wrapping that String to the parser. Check the documentation for more details.
