XML Forms with Expiring Message Date
Hi,
I need to create a XML form with Expiring Message Date i.e the messages should not be visible in the iview after entered expiring date. Kindly let me know how can I achieve this.

This can be achieved through the Time-based Publishing service provided by SAP. To make sure the service is active for your repository, go to System Administration > System Configuration > Knowledge Management > Content Management > Repository Managers > CM Repository (if that's the kind of repository you're working in). Then select your repository and make sure that 'tbp' is in the list of Repository Services assigned. If not, assign that service and restart the portal.
Then, within KM Content, enter the Details menu of the folder within that repository for which you'd like this service activated, then go to Settings > Lifetime and click the 'Enable Time-Dependent Publishing' button. This will activate the service for that folder.
Then in your XML form, you can provide the Lifetime properties "Valid From" and/or "Valid To" to specify when a message should be active, and when it should expire. At that point, anyone who has read access to that folder would only see the messages that are within these active dates.

Hi All,
We have requirement of designing XML forms with some static contents to be filled by user 1 and send the same info to user 2 for approval. Once user 2 approve/rejects it, user 1 has to know about the action.
Is this requirement is fairly possible using XML forms builder ? how approvers are identified in XML forms to send the information ?

1. Design / build your xml form as per your requirment using XML Form builder.
2. Enable the Approval process for the folder where these .xml files will be stored. (as pointed out by Noel).
3. Enable UWL functionality in the portal so that users can see if they have any items for approval.
4. Once approved, publish the document for other users to read on.
No coding in WD Java is required. You can entirely achieve this via customization and configuration.

I need to create a XML Form that have a confirmation page to enter de data and save it (into XML file).
It's possible to make it with the XML Forms Builder, or I need to make it manual at xml & xsl??

there is currently no confirmation message available in the XMLForms EditForm. But you can use the "preview" button to show how it looks like, before you are using the "Save" button.

Binding xml form with automation in pro 8.1?
Hi guys,
im using COM automation to control adobe pro 8.1 to load a pdf document, and bind an xml file with the form. (the pdf has a datasource attached to it, fields are binded and the preview from livecycle desiner works fine).
anyone know how i can bind the xml file to the pdf WITHOUT user interaction?
if its not possible by COM, can i do it from the command line?

Saving an Interactive Form WITH filled in data
Scenario:
We have created an interactive form in the ABAP environment (SFP).
The user receives the interactive PDF form as an eMail attachment.
The user needs to fill in the form AND save it WITH the filled in informatiion.
Right now, the user cannot save the form WITH the filled in information.
Why?
The Adobe help says:
<i>You can't save the data that you enter into the PDF form, unless the form author included additional usage rights in the PDF file.</i>
How do I include these <i>'additional usage rights'</i>?
We are on NetWeaver 04, and the ADS is fully installed and configured on the Java stack.

I have created a form using transaction SFP. I don't use any web dynpro.
The issue is that I am not able to automatically have the data back in the SAP program.
The only solution I have found is saving the PDF locally, then calling the METHOD cl_gui_frontend_services=>file_open_dialog and finally extracting the data from the XML file.
It works this way.
I would like to automate this process, I mean, I would like to automatically save the pdf (after pushing a submit button) into a specific folder and then to be able to read it.
The aim is to avoid having too many manipulations.
I tried the xfa.host.exportdata("",0) but i cannot specify a path because my pdf is not certified!

Why does my Adobe Dynamic XML Form (*.pdf) submit as data.xml
Hi, I have created a form and saved it as Adobe Dynamic XML Form (*.pdf) the form used to submit perfectly via email but today it keeps attaching to the email as in a data.xml format. What would cause this and how do I fix it.
P.S. I am a novice with LivecycleCheck the properties on your submit button. That is where you define the submission format.

Ensure List/Menu populate my update form with the correct data before update

Please how do I ensure my update form is populated with the correct data before update?
On my update page I have text fields and select fields (dynamic list/menu). When I open my profile page to make updates, I see the field well positioned in the text fields but in the select list/menu fields, I see "Select from list" instead of the value that was initiated selected

As you can see from the images below, when I open the update page, the list automatically populate the select fields with the last values in the list instead of the Initial values that where selected by the user before the update.

Once more thank you. I have sorted the issue out.
I observed that I was selecting the wrong field. I selected the field matching the record set of the select instead of the field matching the record set of the table I am working as seen on the image belew
I was selecting this - This is the record set of the table that hold values for the city select list
Instead of this. This is the record set of the table behind the form I am working on
My issue is now re-solved.

Connect Pdf Form with Air Sqllite data
Hi, i would like to save my Pdf Form localy but i know about restrictions of 500 users (legal notes after giving advanced user permission).
I thought about do it in air which could have my pdf form inside. I thought that people after filling form with data could save it localy by connecting PDF Form (embed in air) with Air database. So people could save it offline and fill rest form date f.e. after few days to complete it later.
I don`t know any more option to save my form data localy (offline) without installing localhost database. Air installing is simple but i don`t know how should i start.
Please tell me how can i connect my PDF Form with Air database?
EDIT:Do you have any tutorials of that?I read also about JavaScript method of sending data from PDF form to AIR with using PostMessage (communicate throw JavaScript & HTML Object embed). Now i don`t know is there more easy way to communicate with SQL lite Air local database than using PostMessage command (more direct as setting up File>New Connection>OLEDB Database in Livecycle Designer)?

Problem sending form with fmt:message key=" " / tag system and jsp code
I have developt my new web page using jsp. I have done a booking form, please se below here. There are two pages, bookings.jsp and booking_sent.jsp. The page has 6 different languages so i have also used the <fmt:message key=" " /> tag system for each language.
The problem i have is when i send the form it opens a page where you only see all the tags, no text at all. For more information follow this link and try out the form;

When you fill out the form and click send you should come to booking_sent and you do but the page is only full of tags, no text. Booking_sent looks exactly the same as bookings, except the header so why should not this work. I have tried everything but i cannot solve this problem. So i wonder if there is anybody out there who can help me with this?

I have developed my new web page using jsp. I have done a booking form,
There are two pages, bookings.jsp and booking_sent.jsp.
The page has 6 different languages so i have also used the <fmt:message key=" " /> tag system for each language.
The problem i have is when i send the form it opens a page where you only see all the tags, no text at all.

When you fill out the form and click send you should come to booking_sent and you do but the page is only full of tags, no text. Booking_sent looks exactly the same as bookings, except the header so why should not this work. I have tried everything but i cannot solve this problem. So i wonder if there is anybody out there who can help me with this?
Tried going to that URL and got an error page served by Apache Webserver
Maybe you haven't got the correct connector going between the webserver and the application server? -
Formating XML formed with nested XMLELEMENT's
Hi, maybe this is a silly question, could not find an answer though...
When I use nested XMLELEMENT everything comes out in one long line, how can I do it so every level comes on a new line and with the apropriate indentation?
Also .. I need to generate a different tag depending of the value of a field in the table, what is better DECODE or case statements, does it make any significant difference...It is something like this:

Using XML Publisher with plsql package data source?

I have a html gantt chart which i create using a plsql package and the use of the htp.p procedure for output to a webpage.
I want to be able to print this to PDF and was hoping the XML Publisher may be an option for doing this. The datasource for this however seems to be a sql query or XML feed.
Can anyone provide any suggestions on this??With a Pipelined Table Function you can use a function in your FROM-clause (so you'll have a normal SELECT, but in the background the data comes from a PL/SQL-function):

Master-Detail Forms with read-only data in Master
I have a Master-Detail form created in Portal in which the master has fields that have select access (this has corporate bio/demo data) with the detail section having full access (local data).
When I go to create the form, it will not compile since it generate a DELETE code on master records.
The view I have has a master corporate record with people in depts adding detail records.
I am running Portal 3.0.9.Hi,
This is a bug. The only workaround would be is to write your own custom event and write your own code to do all that is done in onsave.

Hi all
I have an issue with the "Insert Web Link for selection" feature of the "Edit Form".
The idea is to insert a short url for another page and navigate to the given page, but this is not possible due to the Iframes.
If I insert a short url, "/irj/portal?NavigationTarget= navurl://cf1c773631c70d2" and select Target Window = Active Window, then I navigate to the given page, with the navigation hierarchy, but this is just inside the given iFrame, and not the whole browser.
So, I am looking for a way of extending the "Insert Web Link for selection" and give the "Target Window" = "parent, or refresh browser and navigate to the given page"
Any comments or ideas of how to solve this issue.
