Hi, I found a previous post in this forum that does exactly
what I would like to do, but since I am new to adobe flash I am
missing some knowledge. I have the actionscript code and the xml
file - what I need help with is the GUI. I open a new AS2 project
and press F9 to insert the action code. What do I do next? Please
help!
I attach the previous actionscript code posted by another
member.
Best Regards EvaHi, thanks for Your reply. Yes, I have the .xml file, what I
need help with is the 'frame' that You display the picture in. Do I
need to create a layer or scene? I guess that myContainer_mc in the
code needs to be identified in this 'frame'. How do I go about
doing this?
Any help is most appriciated!

Export Recordest to XML help, please
I'm trying to display my database info using Spry in CS4. In
CS3 there was a utility called "Export Recordest to XML" that was
part of the toolkit, but was also available as a registration
incentive. Is this functionality now built into CS4?
I guess what I' m really looking for is a tutorial on how to
bring data in directly from the database to the webpage. I've seen
the video of how to do it from a static HTML page, but that doesn't
help here.
I've also seen this page (
http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/samples/utils/query2xml.html)
but it doesn't offer any practical info for how to actually
implement this into a dreamweaver/spry page.
What is frustrating (aside from my own lack of knowledge) is
that one of the original raison d'être for Dreamweaver and its
ancestors, was the creation of dynamic sites from databases by
people who were somewhat programming challenged.
Maybe it is all there and I'm just missing it, but I would
truly appreciate any help.RiddleyWalker2 wrote:

Once you have your page that creates the xml, just use that
link in spry
as your datasource. Ignore the fact that it doesn't end in
xml, that
doesn't matter, as the output content type is xml, so it will
be treated
like xml.

Coorilis / Phoca / crossdomain.xml help please
Hello everyone,
I am using Joomla with Phoca Gallery. It has cooliris embeded into it for a nice way to display your gallery. It states I need to put the crossdamain.xml file into the root directory. I have done this. I am using 1&1 Web hosting. I am using the code it tells me for the xml file I have upgraded to the latest versions on my website too. Any help would be great.
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<!DOCTYPE cross-domain-policy SYSTEM
"http://www.macromedia.com/xml/dtds/cross-domain-policy.dtd">
<cross-domain-policy>
<allow-access-from domain="*.cooliris.com" secure="false" />
</cross-domain-policy>Finally figured this out that it was due to a channel configuration issue. Within the remoting-config.xml file, the change made is shown below.
The one below was causing the issue and was looking for crossdomain.xml
<default-channels>
<channel ref="my-secure-amf"/>
<channel ref="my-amf"/>
</default-channels>
Changed the above to
<default-channels>
<channel ref="my-amf"/>
<channel ref="my-secure-amf"/>
</default-channels>
Thanks

Hi, I want to display the number of Passed / failed tests in Testtand xml report , please help me.
My requirement is later i should be able to display these number of passed/failed test in report header too.
Solved!
Go to Solution.I have attached a sequence to give you an idea of how to get the Result count (I didn't check it's working ), I have used "SequenceFilePostResultListEntry" callback to calculate the Result Count,
and the Result Count is passed to the "ModifyReportHeader" through File Globals, where you can edit the XML file to show it in the Repot (follow the link in my previous post).
Hope this helps

XML Files - PLEASE help!!
Hi guys!
Am desperately seeking some help on an XML issue please!!
Am just wondering if anyone knows any limitations of having large XML files within B2B applications. Everywhere I look seems to suggest that there's no limit on the size of an XML file - this is grand, but is anyone aware of a performance downgrade when dealing with large files? And if so, what is the maximum recommended file size before performance is affected. Are there any other issues upon which file size would have a negative impact? Sorry if this sounds like a bit of a silly question but am a newbie to the design implications of XML and am in bad need of assistance!
thanks a mill for all your help
cheers
bronniebeeWell no, there's no limit on the size of an XML file by the specification, but in practice you will find that you almost always have to load the XML file into memory. This means that the larger the file, (a) the longer it takes to load and (b) the more likely it is you will run out of memory. I have seen it suggested that 10 megabytes is a practical upper limit for the size of an XML file to be processed in this way, but of course that would be just a rough guideline. If you have files much larger than that, you will have to use a SAX parser (which processes the XML sequentially) if you want to be able to handle it.
But if you are talking about B2B, then most of your XML files will be transaction packets, right? Probably you wouldn't have a purchase order that large, for example. And you will be processing them asynchronously, right? (Nobody sitting at the browser waiting for a response.) That simplifies things because you don't have response time as an overriding requirement. -
Load XML in intranet ? urgent help please...
Dear friends, I need urgent help: I have a CAYIN screen (which lets me display evetns, etc) and gives me the option of loading/displaying a FLASH (SWF) file, well, I need this SWF to load some XML data ("texto.xml") but seems that when the CAYIN program which executes flash, does not allow the SWF to find the XML in the same folder...
Then I tried many ways to load the XML file with no success till now. Some tries are :
obj_xml.load("\\192.168.0.100\media\texto.xml")
obj_xml.load("\media\texto.xml")
obj_xml.load("texto.xml")
obj_xml.load("../media/texto.xml")
obj_xml.load("\\media\texto.xml")
obj_xml.load("file:\\192.168.0.100\media\texto.xml")
obj_xml.load("..\\192.168.0.100\media\texto.xml")
I guess I am writting something wrong or forgetting something. Would anyone please help me ? because these files are in an internal server "192.168.0.100" (intranet).
Urgent help please, thanks in advance,if the swf is in a directory with subdirectory media which contains texto.xml, use:
obj_xml.load("media/texto.xml") -
Newbie help please: "Validation of XML file failed."
Hopefully my question is short and easy.
I'm a developer and haven't used FrameMaker before. However for unforeseen reasons, I've inherited our technical help documentation constructed in FrameMaker which I've never used. Unfortunately I'm under a very tight deadline and I'm attempting to update our already existing and fairly extensive application help files.
However, I'm getting a "Validation of XML file failed" error for 90% of our .xml help docs. I opened our .book file in FrameMaker fairly easily, and can see all of our .xml files. However the variables already embedded in the documents aren't being recognized and seem to be causing the above error. I've located our variable definition files (xml) in the concepts folder, but FrameMaker doesn't seem to recognize them. Any suggestions on what I can check or how I can get FM to refer to the variable definitions? I'm working with a new installation of FM, is there some setup I overlooked?
Many thanks,
dana.Sheila and Rick,
Thank you both so much for your offer of help. My apologies for not replying earlier. Other 'emergencies' and priorities at work took me in other directions. It turns out another solution has been found for the time being. But thank you again for your replies. They say a lot about this community and its support. :)
Thanks again,

I am pulling my hair out! I am using adobe indesign and just want to make a text box 'autofit text' as I change fonts a lot and want the font to automatically re-size as I change it.
Is it not possible to create a text box, fill it with dynamic (data driven) text, but make the font size either scale up or down automatically, so that the entire text box is filled? This is a feature in PrintShop Mail Pro called COPY FIT. but no such feature in Indesign??
help help help please - I have latest version of indesign - thanks, DJlol... it seems to work, but I have another huge problem!
Apparently .CSV files cannot contain page breaks in the data! The data I am trying to merge is a 'letter', with paragraphs, line breaks, etc.,
But, after data merging, it ignores page breaks and only merges the first paragraph of each letter. (sigh)
Solution? Hopefully, an EASY solution. lol as we have thousands of records.
Is there a third party indesign plugin that will allow .xml, or .xls data merge import??
Thx,
DJ -
Itunes doesn't list all of my recent podcasts. My show is Black Tribbles and it only shows episodes through March 2013, however we do at least two shows a week and they aren't listed. The feed works because the show update to my computer. Help please.
Your feed is at http://blacktribbles.podomatic.com/rss2.xml
When subscribed to in iTunes the recent episodes show, but the Store hasn't updated for some time.
There appears to be an issue with the feed. In the episode 'WRESTLING MARCH MADNESS: Final Bracket & Championship' of 31st March you will find in the 'description' tag the following line:
4. KURT ANGLE
At the end of this line is an invisible character which seems to be wrecking the feed - although it works OK when suscribing in iTunes it won't load in a browser (and I also found the feed very slow to load, which won't help matters with the Store)
This sort of thing usually happens when you paste text in from a word processing application and manage to include one of the invisible control characters. I don't know how easy it will be do do it in Podomatic but you should delete that entire line and retype it to remove this charter.
You should keep an eye on the time it takes the feed to be accessed - if there is a long enough delay (and it was quite some seconds when I tried) the Store may well timeout and fail to read it. At the moment it's showing a cached version from the last time it was able to read it. -
Tomcat won't work after XP SP2 install?? help, please
Help please!
Hi, I installed a fresh JDK (1_5_0_02-windows-i586-p), JRE (1.5.0_01), J2EE (1.4_2005Q1), Apache web server (2.0.53-win32-x86-no_ssl) and Tomcat (5.5.7) . Everything seemed to work. I installed XP Service Pack 2 and now Tomcat won't compile JSPs. (I don't know if the SP2 install was the cause).
The service Starts okay, but when I try to hit a jsp, Tomcat takes over my processor (at like 80%) and it starts writing to the stdout log (stdout was set to auto), repeatedly. After being up for like 20 min the log was well over 1 GB in size. It showed the below exceptions repeating ad infinitum.
I uninstalled and reinstalled Tomcat, repaired the Apache installation (that shouldn't matter, should it?), and I am going to try reinstalling JDK/JRE/J2EE, but does anyone have any ideas of how I can fix this?

Mar 13, 2005 9:15:15 PM oIs it possible this is resulting from classpaths not
being setup correctly? Could someone please tell me
what my CLASSPATH and PATH enviro variables should be
fod JDK, J2EE, JRE, etc...? Both in general and
specifically to be found by Tomcat. They are
installed in:
C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_02
C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_02
C:\Sun\AppServer
Thanks!Could be.
I think installing anything in directories whose path has spaces in it is a terrible idea. I'd reinstall the JDK to c:\SDKs or something like that.
There's no need for a system CLASSPATH - ever. You shouldn't have one. Use -classpath when you run javac.exe and java.exe to set the CLASSPATH. Tomcat has its own class loaders. You should deploy your Web apps in WAR files - they'll have the CLASSPATH set for you that way.
Your PATH should include the JAVA_HOME\bin.
set JAVA_HOME=C:\SDKs
set CATALINA_HOME=c:\Tools\Tomcat, or wherever you installed Tomcat.

Javax.naming.LinkException: Help please
Hi all,
I hope one of you can help figure this out.
I am useing WLS 7 on Win2K.
When I try this:
home = (ObjectIDLocalHome) ctx.lookup("ObjectIDLocalHome");
I get this:
javax.naming.LinkException: . Root exception is javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: Unable to resolve 'java:app.ejb/gs-ejbs.jar#ObjectID/local-home' Resolved: ''
Unresolved:'java:app' ; remaining name 'java:app.ejb/gs-ejbs.jar#ObjectID/local-home'
My weblogic-ejb-jar.xml has:
<weblogic-enterprise-bean>
<ejb-name>ObjectID</ejb-name>
<entity-descriptor>
<entity-cache>
<cache-between-transactions>False</cache-between-transactions>
</entity-cache>
<persistence>
<persistence-use>
<type-identifier>WebLogic_CMP_RDBMS</type-identifier>
<type-version>7.0</type-version>
<type-storage>META-INF/weblogic-cmp-rdbms-jar.xml</type-storage>
</persistence-use>
</persistence>
</entity-descriptor>
<local-jndi-name>ObjectIDLocalHome</local-jndi-name>
</weblogic-enterprise-bean>
And my ejb-jar.xml has:
<entity>
<description>Entity Bean ( CMP )</description>
<display-name>ObjectID</display-name>
<ejb-name>ObjectID</ejb-name>
<local-home>com.oga.gserve.biz.oid.ObjectIDLocalHome</local-home>
<local>com.oga.gserve.biz.oid.ObjectIDLocal</local>
<ejb-class>com.oga.gserve.biz.oid.ObjectIDBean</ejb-class>
<persistence-type>Container</persistence-type>
<prim-key-class>java.lang.Integer</prim-key-class>
<reentrant>False</reentrant>
<cmp-version>2.x</cmp-version>
<abstract-schema-name>ObjectIDBean</abstract-schema-name>
And yes the EJB lives in gs-ejbs.jar
When I goto the WLS console and look at the JNDI Tree I see ObjectIDLocalHome under javax.
I hope this is just something stupid that I have over looked. HELP please.
BradHi Guys,
Please help me with the solution if any one got it by now ??

Resolved:
Unresolved:'java:app' ; remaining name'java:app.ejb/gs-ejbs.jar#ObjectID/local-home'
My weblogic-ejb-jar.xml has:
<weblogic-enterprise-bean>

</persistence>
</entity-descriptor>
<local-jndi-name>ObjectIDLocalHome</local-jndi-name>
</weblogic-enterprise-bean>
And my ejb-jar.xml has:
<entity>
<description>Entity Bean ( CMP)</description>

And yes the EJB lives in gs-ejbs.jar
When I goto the WLS console and look at the JNDITree I see ObjectIDLocalHome

I hope this is just something stupid that I haveover looked. HELP

I'm new to podcasting help please?
I have a website that's podcast compatible(powered by moveable type) www.omniversal.net. I have media files(mp3. wav.) already uploaded to my server via FTP. I recently made a podcast through a host server but I want to host it myself.
What do I need? I read that you can make a xml file but along the way of reading it I got really confused. Perhaps someone here can explain it to me so that I can understand it. The reason I want to host it myself is because my site has my gig space to host my media files. Once I learn how to host it myself I plan on changing the feed url.
Can someone help please? If this was already posted I apologize. A link to a in depth tutorial or a step through from the advance folks on this topic would be helpful and much appreciated.you all have been helpful. I'm excited about what I did tonight and yesterday with all your tips. One last question,
below is the code I edited....is there anything I missed? And what link do I submit to iTunes to subscribe to my podcast in order to test it? I put the xml file "omniversal.xml" inside the path of weareomniverse.com/audio.

I can see my photos in iphoto but can't email them, edit them or print them....help please!
First, what is the formatting of the external hard drive? It should be OS X Extended (journaled). You can determine it by selecting the EHD and typing Command + i.
Click to view full size
If it isn't formatted to that you should move the library off of it and reformat.
The "!" is an indication that the file path to the original file has been broken So make a temporary, duplicate copy of the library and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.
