I have been trying to compile the example about the XML class Generator but everytime I get the following error:
SampleMain.java:61: Incompatible type for method. Can't convert oracle.xml.parse
r.DTD to oracle.xml.parser.v2.DTD.
generator.generate(dtd, doctype_name);
^
The problem is that I can't find the appropriate XML parser Library.
My question is Which JAR file is it ?
Or which version ?

kXML is the most important and popularly use XML parser for KVM. This is a combination of pull parser and the XMLWriter. It coantains a WAP Binary XML and a special kDOM.
NanoXML is another parser for KVM, which works on push-parsing technology. Now it is not very popular.

Since OC4J is preconfigured to use the Oracle XML parser which is xmlparserv2.jar.
i have read the following article which states that
OC4J is preconfigured to use the Oracle XML parser. The Oracle XML parser is fully JAXP 1.1 compatible and will serve the needs of applications which require JAXP functionality. This approach does not require the download, installation, and configuration of additional XML parsers.
The Oracle XML parser (xmlparserv2.jar) is configured to load as a system level library of OC4J through it's inclusion as an entry in the Class-Path entry of the oc4j.jar Manifest.mf file. This results in the Oracle XML parser being used for all common deployment and packaging situations. You are not permitted to modify the Manifest.mf file of oc4j.jar.
It must be noted that configuring OC4J to run with any additional XML parser or JDBC library is not a supported configuration. We do know customers who have managed to successfully replace the system level XML parser and the Oracle JDBC drivers that ship with the product, but we do not support this type of configuration due to the possibility of unexpected system behavior and system errors that might occur from replacing the tested and certified libraries.
If you absolutely must use an additional XML parser such as xerces, then you have to start OC4J such that the xerces.jar file is loaded at a level above the OC4J system classpath. This can be accomplished using the -Xbootclasspath flag of the JRE.
i have also run the following command
java -Xbootclasspath/a:d:\xerces\xerces.jar -jar oc4j.jar
but no success.
How could i utilize my jar's like xerces.jar and xalan.jar for parsing instead of OC4J in-built parser ?

I am trying to deploy a sample xform application to the Oracle Application Server (10.1.3). However, I encountered the class loader issue that is similar to your stuation. I tried all the three solutions but the application is still use the Oracle xml paser class. I am wondering if you have any insight about this?

XML publisher : Error oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLParseException: Expected ';'

I am trying to output a customer list containing customer number and customer name using 11i ( 11.5.10 CU2) with latest XML publisher patches on.
How do I debug the following error in OPP log:

I was able to correct the error. The data contained an '&' sign and that was causing the xml parser to fail with the above error. If the & is replaced by a different character other than & then this error does not occur.

Swapping XML Parser and XSLT to Xalan 2.7.0 - Not Working (OC4J 10.1.3)

I'm trying to use the latest Xercies/Xalan classes in OC4J 10.1.3 as described in the How-To swap XML Parsers document:

What I can see happening is that the oracle.xml shared library is successfully 'turned off', but the xalan libraries are not added. Instead, the default xml classes that are distributed with the JDK become visible. For instance, using a slightly modified version of the index.jsp page from the how-to, I get this result:

What I expect is for that last line to say version 2.7.0, which is the version of the xalan.jar included in my shared library (code to add that line to the how-to shown below).
I suspect what is happening is that the class loader is simply not letting a shared library override a system library - to do that you probably need to place the jar files in system endorsed directory.
Has anyone gotten this how-to to work - actually replacing the XML parser/transform classes with the latest Xalan classes? Are you sure it is seeing the current version you placed in the shared library?

The Xalan SQL extension is built into Xalan. The most painless way to try it out is to run it via JEdit: www.jedit.org
JEdit a OS Java application with a fairly painless install process (I'm assuming you already have a current JRE installed). Once its installed, you'll need to install the XSLT plugin - in JEdit goto Plugins | Plugin Manager | Install and pick the XSLT plugin. You'll need the Oracle JDBC classes on your classpath - this can be done by copying the oracle_jdbc4.jar into the [JEdit install directory]/jars directory.
Restart to load that jar and you should be all set.
I included a sample XSLT page at the bottom of this post that is somewhat of a template transform for the SQL extension - its more complicated then it needs to be, but it does some nice things with the results of the query. Save it as a file and make the appropriate changes to the 'datasource' parameter near the top of the file.
Then in JEdit, open the file and make sure the XSLT plugin is visible (Plugins | XSLT | XSLT Processor Toggle - or alternately dock it in the window via global prefs). In the XSLT plugin: Allow the current buffer to be used as the source, Add that same file as a stylesheet via the '+' button, and pick a result file at the bottom. Then click the 'Transform XML' button.
Troubleshooting: I seem to remember having some classpath errors when I tried this on windows, but others have had it work w/o issues. I do remeber that the XSLT plugin had a popup window that gave a pretty good explaintion of the problem, if it occurs. Also, for some reason the XSLT plugin will not create a new file for the output, so its often best to create a file first, then choose it as the output. As our application uses AXIS to do WebServices, we have removed the default oracle xml shared library by using remove-inherited in orion-application.xml. In addition, we package our own xerces in our application ear file. It looks like PDK is looking for oracle xml parser resulting in the NoClassDefFoundError exception.
The above exception is thrown if I access the JDPK provider URL after accessing our application.
However, if I restart the OC4J and ccess the JPDK provider URL without accessing our application, I get the following error

On further test, If I let the default oracle xml parser be loaded, then I do not get the the exception.
I have removed the following lines from orion-application.xml

XML Parser Exception in Install of AIA 11.1.1.5 on SOA 11.1.1.5

I am attempting to install AIA Foundation Pack on a SOA domain and continually encounter an XML parsing exception error as the installer is attempting to install WSM security policies. Here are the key details:
AIA version = 11.1.1.5
SOA Suite = 11.1.1.5
WebLogic = 10.3.5
Operating System = Fedora14 (a home lab machine but I don't think this is an OS issue)
The error is encountered about 17 minutes into the lengthy process. Just before the error appears in the installation log, the following message appears indicating roughly what step is being performed:

The core error messages are:

The problem occurs whether I try to use Java JDK 16.0.20 or JRockit R28.2.0 as the JRE when running the AIA installer. (The WebLogic domain is configured to use JRockit).
Any suggestions? Is there a library conflict being picked up between different releases of XercesImpl? I would hope there isn't actually a bad XML file in the AIA artifacts or WSM (Web Service Management) policies being deployed.

Need suggestion about a fast XML parser

I have a program which needs to parse lots of XML files of sizes varing from few MBs to hundreds of MBs. It needs to parse the file in one-pass, and for which the SAX approach is best suited. I initially tried coding this program using the SAX parser provided by Java library, but it takes way-way too much time to parse the files. I then googled out Piccolo XML Parser, but it throws ArrayIndexOutOfBound exception. Furthermore, sometimes XML files could terminated prematurely.
Can you suggest any SAX XML parser for this job?

I am pasting here a trimmed version of my code..... sorry this is not the simplified and complete in itself version as the norm is.

XML Parsing in Java Stored Proc--Oracle XML Support Installation?

I am working with a third party product that is having difficulty running a java stored proc that is parsing a supplied XML file. The proc basically looks like:

We are running on 9.2.0.6, HP-UX 64-bit. At first, when we would attempt to run the proc, a database hang would occur; now after attempting to install using loadjava jars for xerces2.6: ORA-29532: Java call terminated by uncaught Java exception:
javax.xml.parsers.FactoryConfigurationError: Provider
org.apache.xerces.jaxp.DocumentBuilderFactoryImpl not found)
The vendor says that the errors we are getting when running are not due to any dependency on xerces or jre1.4, and that we need to "install Oracle XML support", but I'm not certain what this means (I cannot find any documentation on what to install). I believe that there are jars that need to be loaded into the database to support the XML parsing, as jre1.3 does not include built-in XML support, and Oracle 9.2.0.6 uses jre1.3.
So...does anyone have any thoughts as to how to resolve the missing references? Is there a way to "install Oracle XML support", or is it to install the necessary jars?

Can I don't use sapxmltoolkit for xml parsing?

I have a J2EE application with Struts frontend. I
I have successfully deployed and run without problem on SAP WebAS 6.40 (Slim Edition). However, when I tried to deploy and run the same application on the Java Edition that comes with EP, there is a "Provider com.sap.engine.lib.jaxp.DocumentBuilderFactoryImpl not found" error due to missing reference to the sapxmltoolkit library. I added the reference to the sapxmltoolkit library in my application and that resolves the error but my frontend still does not display correctly.
My application EAR already contains the Xerces parser library and I would like to stick to that but I saw that
system properties for javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilderFactory has been set to com.sap.engine.lib.jaxp.DocumentBuilderFactoryImpl.
How can I make my application use the xerces parser without hardcoding the use of xerces parser implementation in my code?

I performed some tests on my system but unfortunately I was not able to find an appropriate solution if some other application had already set JAXP system property. I noticed that I had given you a wrong note number - the notes that I've meant are 881597 and 609804. Note 881597 contains a jar file, which will identify the thread, which sets the JAXP system property. You said that you are able to run your application on NetWeaver slim edition so I am quite sure that one of the deployed applications (on the other J2EE Engine) sets the property.

1. I installed my own memory handlers once and now I see that it keeps on allocating memory in block like this:

until a total of: 275 MB !!
This memory is freed when xmlterm() is called.
2. It complains about 'The procedure entry point slpupath could not be located in the dynamic link library oracore8.dll' when I try with the 8.1.6 DLL's...
And since Oracle8.1.7 is not out yet for NT, this is a problem...

XML parser for C 2.0.2 - LPX-00208

We are getting the following error when using the 2.0.2 XML parser for C:

Our xml file parses ok with the 2.0.0 parser, but we wish to upgrade in order to be able to use the url dtd reference capability of the 2.0.2 parser. Our document also validates ok with other parsers. Why are we getting this error?

I never received a reply to my last question about the bug being fixed in 2.0.3. Now we've tried 2.0.4 and are still not able to parse XML files with our dtd using the XML Parser for C unless we use the 2.0.0 version.
The results we get using the xml command provided with 2.0.4 are as follows:

Xml parser v2.0.2.9

We are in the beginning stages of our Oracle XML Gateway project and have made no customizations to out-of-the-box expected functionality of XML gateway product. Currently using Oracle 11.5.7 and RDBMS 8.1.7.3.0
when running ecxver.sql, results indicated that there were invalid XML parser objects and that it needed to be reinstalled using patch 2199206.
We downloaded the patch but our SysAdmin needs specific instructions on how to go about applying the patch (evidently it is just file replacement and she needs specific instructions) Our SysAdmin can't find any documentation about the XML parser v2.0.2.9 and installation of that patch.
Am I correct in assuming that we actually need to run a sql script to LOAD the parser from the XDK library? If so, could someone please point us in the right direction?
