XML Publisher errors out with java.lang.IndexArrayOutofBounds 5 =5 when out

Hi Everyone,
I have a particular report which has some dynamic columns involved.
On certain cases (more than 5 dynamic columns) when the report is run with output as PDF it gives out an error java.lang.IndexArrayOutofBounds 5>=5 (where the number differs for each case)
But for the same data when i use output type as HTML or EXCEL the output is coming out to be fine.
<?for-each-group@column: G_TRADING_PARTNER_NAME3;BID_NUMBER2?> for the column header of the dynamic columns
<?for-each-group@cell:G_TRADING_PARTNER_NAME3;BID_NUMBER2?> for the column data
My version of XMLP is 5.6.0
and apps version is 11.5.10.2
Is there anything that needs to be changed for the PDF output ?

Glad you have sorted this - note that the fnd_concurrent_requests table has the fields pp_Start_date and pp_end_date which will show how long post processing is taking.
Good to a good idea to monitor this in relation to the setting you have made in the profile option Concurrent:OPP Timeout profile option though 3 hours should cover most things!!!!

We have developed a custom Oracle report that produces an XML output file that is about 13M in size (about 18K rows from the database). When running report as concurrent request, post processing fails with java.lang.outofmemoryerror. The failure occurs when specifying output format as Excel, RTF or HTML. However, the process completes successfully when specifying output format as PDF. We have also noticed that Excel, RTF and HTML will complete successfully if the XML data file is smaller (around 3M).
Is anyone aware of a restriction on the size of the XML data file when specifying output formats Excel, RTF or HTML? We have tried setting temp directory but that has not helped.

1. Login select the responsibility: System Administrator.

4. In the 'Options' field please enter -Xmx512M.
5. Save the change and retest the issue.
6. If the report still fails with the option set to -Xmx512M change the value to -Xmx1024M, save and try again
7. Migrate the solution as appropriate to other environments.

Dbca errors out with java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space

I am trying to use DBCA to create a 10.2.0.4 database on a HP platform.DBCA hangs at the step 6 and following message can be seen in the
trace.log:
java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space
I googled and modified the DBCA scripts content from

I´m reading and sending files to an FTP server using SAP PI. I use file content conversion.
Everything has been working fine for months - but now the server was changes to a new host. The only thing changed was the host/user and pass.
But sending too the server fails with this error:
File processing failed with java.lang.StringIndexOutOfBoundsException: String index out of range: -27
Any body who has a clue??
Reading files works ok. And i can transfer files to the FTP server with FileZilla without problems.

In the file transfer by ftp:

I am implementing file2file with file going from shared folder to FTPS server.
I am using TLS and X.509 certificate in file receiver communication channel.
when I implemented my scenario, this is the error its throwing :
Success : Connect to FTP server "my ftp address", directory "/TEST/"
Error : Attempt to process file failed with java.lang.StringIndexOutOfBoundsException: String index out of range: 3
I know this error is caused when java expects the 3 character length string and if its getting more than that... Does any faced this kindaa problem before...Any help is greatly appreciated....Obviously even points....

There is no custom code at all? No mappings, no custom modules, no pre/post processing commands?
Also, check if you get this error when sending to ftps server without certificate (or with another certificate). It may be an incompatibility issue with certificate.
Did you import the .pfx (or .p12) file in KeyStorage Service?

Sorry for the late reply.
It is problably a problem with the configname attribute of the ApplicationModule tag which is wrong.
Can you try to open the JSP file with the problem and look at the ApplicationModule tag setting.
If you create a new ApplicationModule tag under it using the Component Palette, it will give you a clue to what setting is espected for the configname. Make sure to keep the same value for the "id" property.

In the above thread, i found below steps to resolve this:
Cause:
Essentially the problem is caused by incompatible versions of classes in the oracle.apps.fnd.i18n.* package held in the file jdevbin\jdev\appslibrt\aolj.jar versus the classes used by the BI Publisher libraries. The 'set_xslt_locale' method was introduced in BI publisher version 5.6.3 so if you have upgraded to this version on the server it is likely that you will get this error in JDeveloper.
Solution:
1) You will first need to copy the following file to your local JDev install and add it as a library via Project Settings --> Libraries :
$FND_TOP/java/3rdparty/stdalone/xdoparser.zip
2) Next fetch the latest version of the oracle.apps.fnd.i18n.* classes from $OA_JAVA. Create a zip file of these files (i.e. i18n.jar), copy to your local JDev install and add it as a library as you did with the xdoparser.zip.
3) Copying these files alone will not solve the problem because JDeveloper will use the oracle.apps.fnd.i18n.* classes located in the jdevbin\jdev\appslibrt\aolj.jar file before using the ones located in the file added in step 2 (i18n.jar). To get round this, ensure that the the library you have added for the i1n8.jar file is higher in the list (under Project Settings  Libraries) than the libraries “FND Libraries” & “OA Developer Libraries” (if selected). This will ensure that the files in i18n.jar are used prior to those in jdevbin\jdev\appslibrt\aolj.jar. If this does not work (some users have found this approach not to work), make a backup of the file jdevbin\jdev\appslibrt\aolj.jar and then manully remove all files in the oracle.apps.fnd.i18n package from the file.
4) In addition to the above copy the file $OA_HTML/xdo_doc_display.jsp to your local OA_HTML directory (usually jdevhome\jdev\myhtml). You should also set the temporary directory of the XML Publisher (under Admin) to a directory that exists on your PC (eg. /var/tmp on your PC will be c:\var\tmp).

We are having a problem with the jstudio IDE Enterprise Edition.
We are trying to create an CMP Bean using the IDE.
The database table has 69 columns of various datatatypes. BUT as soon as i write the create method the following error is logged after all the 69 parameters are added in the create method
PS : I have tried it on both Standard and Enterprise Edition .......They both give the same error.
(Note this ocured when i had written all the 69 paramenters for the Database Table !)

this code is compiling and executing just fine in eclipse but when i try to run it on a command line it gives me the above error.

Uncaught error fetching image: java.lang.NullPointerException

I am developing standalone application using NetBeans,the aplication is running fine in netbeans IDE but not when Jar alone tried to run.I kept all the files related to application with the jar.
when running jar,the app is running fine upto some extent,and throwing exception at the time of fetching images from images folder which is placed inside "src folder"
class files package and images folder are in the src folder. the code is like this:

and also by using thread but dint solved

don't specify an absolute path line "/images/eaze.gif" but use a relative path like "images/eaze.gif" or you might need the complete package path.

At line 17 of SomethingIsWring.java, you are calling substring() and passing -9 as one of the parameters. If you read the docs for String and for that method, and if you understand the fundamentals of Java Strings, you'll know why that is a no-no.
