XML publisher multiple templates in a single report
Hello
We are currently implementing PeopleSoft benefits where the user will have an option to select a benefit template from multiple selections and create a report form based from the combination of template he selected.
My question would be based from the multiple templates, is it possible if the templates be printed out into just one report using xml publisher?
thank you!
Yes. This is possible by using sub templates.
You can declare sub templates in the beginning and then call the sub template.
You will need to register the sub templates in "Content Library" (Reporting Tools > XML Publisher> Content Library) to be able to call thses from another template.

Can we combine multiple data sources in single report?
<span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana">Can we combine multiple data sources in single report?</span>
If you can't do this at the Metalayer (BVs or Universe) - then subreports and shared variables are the method for CR to use multiple datasources in the same report.

XML Publisher --Data Template-Help
Hi
we are using XML Publisher attached to R12 , we are using data template ( .XML file) in data definition .
we have a requirement for master details report. for that we have parent query and child query .the data coming to parent query should be the parameter to child query
Exp-- Parent Query-- select empno from emp
Child Query --select * from dept where empno=:p_empno (p_empno =empno from Parent query )
For this requirement we are creating a data template (.XML file) . we are successfully to write for the parent query, but we fails when come to child query. Please help us how it can be wrote in data template . You can send any example related to this issue.This forum is noway related to XML Publisher. I had redirected you to the actual BI Publisher already once. You should post it there.

XML Publisher with Service Module - Service Request Reports -- URGENT
Hi all ... any pointers/help/guidance with the problem listed below would be much appreciated.
I'm working in the context of the Oracle Service Module & Service Request Reports.
I'm required to configure the XML Publisher Responsibility seeded functionality with the service module reports.
Listed below are the two reporting requirements that I'm considering , corresponding to the following seeded XMLP Responsibility seeded components:
(I'm quoting an extract from the Oracle TeleService Implementation & User Guide here).
Detailed Report
Data Definition: Service Request Detail Definition (CS_SR_DETAIL_DEF)
Corresponding Template: Service Request Detail Report Template (CS_SR_DETAIL_TMP.en)
Template Description: Includes all of the available service request attributes including charges, the two descriptive flexfields, and extensible attributes.
Summary Report
Data Definition: Service Request Summary Definition (CS_SR_SUMMARY_DEF)
Corresponding Template: Service Request Summary Report Template (CS_SR_SUMMARY_TMP_en)
Template Description: Includes a subset of the detailed report attributes including the same charges information as the detailed report.
When I log into the EBS >> XML Publisher Administrator Responsibility >> Service Application ... I find these seeded XMLP components, together with the preview data, downloadable templates & sample output.
The question is:
Where (responsibility/application/navigation/etc.) do I find the seeded EBS Service Reports to provide the expected XML input to the seeded XMLP Service Request Data Definitions & Templates????
Notes ...
I have found the following two reports, under the Service Application in EBS, set their output type to XML and viewed the output of the submitted request:
- Service Request Detail Report
- Service Request Summary Report
... but each of these two reports produce XML output of a different data model/structure to that expected by each of the corresponding seeded XMLP data-definitions/templates.
Additionally, I cannot find any corresponding concurrent program definitions on the system with the same SHORT-NAME/CODE as the seeded XMLP data definitions themselves i.e. CS_SR_DETAIL_DEF and CS_SR_SUMMARY_DEF.
Are the necessary reports not actually seeded within EBS? Do the seeded XMLP data definitions & templates require development of new Concurrent Programs from scratch to access the database tables and provide the necessary data/input, or am I missing something here??I am sure you found a solution to your problem. If not, to give a pointer to this issue, I guess these reports are gererated right from the service request screen and this definition is used there.This report can be generated from several places based on where you are within SR scree.
Thanks

Preview Etext template in XML Publisher Desktop (Template Builder)
Is there a way, or are there plans, to be able to preview an eText template using the template builder, in MS Word, like you can with PDF type templates. This is a great feature when creating PDF output and saves a lot of time. It would be great to be able to do the same for eText templates.
Cheers,
DaveYou can create a dummy data definition and dummy template(etext) in xml publisher admin responsibility.
For the Data definition , in the bottom if you scroll down you will see a link for upload preview xml data file.
After uploading the xml file access your template and you can see a preview icon.If you click it you will see a txt file popping up
thanks

Parse Error in XML Publisher .rtf template during "preview"
I've created a template based upon a working one with a few tweaks, but it does not work. It validates okay in XML PUblisher but the preview fails with this error:
Caused by: oracle.xdo.parser.v2.XMLParseException: Attribute 'select' not found in 'xsl:for-each'.
at oracle.xdo.parser.v2.XSLProcessor.reportException(XSLProcessor.java:806)
at oracle.xdo.parser.v2.XSLProcessor.newXSLStylesheet(XSLProcessor.java:571)
... 14 more
Since I don't have explicitly "xsl" anywhere, the actual problem is unclear to me. I have attached the template. I'd appreciate any sugestions. All I need to do is
1. Loop through all Campus Community checklist items
2. Loop through all STDNT_TEST_COMP rows
As I cannot attach the template or sample data, I"m pasting below the relevant portion of the template, even though it may look odd in plain text.
<?for-each-group:row_CHECKLIST_ITEMS;./fld_CHECKLIST_CD?>
APP Materials Associated ID
<?for-each:current-group()?><?sort:fld_CHKLST_ITEM_CD;'ascending';data-type='text'?> <?if:fld_ITEM_STATUS='I'?> fld_CHKLST_ITM_DESCR
fld_NAME
fld_ASSOC_ID_DESCR
<?end if?><?end for-each?>
<?end for-each-group?>
<?for-each:row_APU_AD_UG_EXT_TEST_SCORES?>
TEST COMPONENTS SCORE TEST DATE DATE RECD
<?B.TEST_ID?> <?B.TEST_COMPONENT?> <?B.SCORE?> <?format-date:B.TEST_DT;'MM-DD-YYYY'?> <?format-date:B.DATE_LOADED;'MM-DD-YYYY'?>
<?end for-each?>
Thanks.

Regards,
Waqas HassanHi,
I have found the solution,
I was missing a number function.
Before: <?for-each:xdoxslt:foreach_number($_XDOCTX,1,$rowlimit-(count(G_ITEM_DETAIL) mod $rowlimit),1)?>
After: <?for-each:xdoxslt:foreach_number($_XDOCTX,1,number($rowlimit)-(count(G_ITEM_DETAIL) mod $rowlimit),1)?>

Multiples Databases in a single Report
Hi all experts...
How I can create a parameter to chosse multiples databases... In a single report!
regardsWagner,
If you have CR Server installed on your network, you can use the Business View Manager to create a Dynamic Data Connection.
As soon as you add the Business View to your report as the data source, a choose database parameter will be added to your report automatically.
Also, if your BIG idea works out, please post it. We all love new ideas. Especially when they work.

Xml publisher of R12 with apex for reporting
Hi gurus,
can i use the inbult xml publisher engin of R12 to configure Apex reports.
Please Help
Regards
VishalNO, the license for that version of BI Publisher does NOT allow you to use it with external tools.... You would be better off getting a new licensed version for your APEX install...

XML Publisher Multiple loops page break
In my XML Publisher template i am haveing nested loops. The tag <?split-by-page-break:?> is working fine for all but the last iteration. Is there a tag for page break which work always irrespective of the iteration.
I cannot use ctrl+enter in the template as the whole page is a table whose headers are repeating and on inserting the ctrl+enter the table break.
Is there any other way to achieve the functionality of ctrl+enter through the xml tag.Hi,
Yes, i was abe to do this, i moved the Customer name filed above the Invoice group and added extra conditin in the rtf.

Multiple queries in a single report?
I'm having some issues with the ColdFusion Report Builder...
I have a database table called "Items" that includes fields
for Reviewer and Status. I want to create a report that will list a
reviewer, then express the number of items where the Status is
"open" as a total or record count. I want to do the same for total
items, and then express the number of "open" items as a percentage.
For example:
REVIEWER, OPEN ITEMS, TOTAL ITEMS, PERCENT OPEN
John Doe, 10, 20, 50%
Jane Smith, 15, 60, 25%
...and so on.
So far I've only been able to get my report to display the
recordcount of the entire query. In order troubleshoot the problem
I created a regular cfm page to do the same thing. Here's what I
did:
<cfquery name="getreviewers"
datasource="#APPLICATION.datasource#">
SELECT DISTINCT Reviewer
FROM Items
ORDER BY Reviewer
</cfquery>
<cfoutput query="getreviewers">
<cfquery name="getopenitems"
datasource="#APPLICATION.datasource#">
SELECT Status
FROM Items
WHERE Status='open'
AND Reviewer = '#Reviewer#'
</cfquery>
<cfset open = getopenitems.recordcount>
<cfquery name="getallitems"
datasource="#APPLICATION.datasource#">
SELECT Status
FROM Items
WHERE Reviewer = '#Reviewer#'
</cfquery>
<cfset all = getallitems.recordcount>
<cfset percent = (open / all) * 100>
#getreviewers.DR_Item_Reviewer#, #open#, #all#,
#Round(percent)#%
</cfoutput>
That worked great, but as you can see I had to nest a couple
of queries inside a <cfoutput>. I don't know how to
incorporate this into the report builder, as it seems you can only
specify a single query. Another thing that occurs to me is perhaps
I'm going about this the wrong way. Is there perhaps a function
that will display things the way I want them without fussing with
multiple queries? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in
advance.It seems like you are trying to do a subreport. You can nest
reports within the report feature...just check out the subreport
feature under the help section. If that doesn't help let me
know. -

How to print multiple copies of a single report(label) based on a variable
I have a crystal report v.9 linked to an excel file with multiple rows of information. Each row contains the label information and one column has the quanity of each label to print. What feature in crystal do I use and what is the command I will need? The information changes on a daily basis so I need a formula. Thanks in advance.
KurtThere have been a few posts that have answered this in the past. (I know because I answered them! :-> ) You might want to search for them.
But basically, you want to do something like this in an SQL Command data source (MS SQL):
declare @loop int;
set @loop = 1;
-- copy table structure (or otherwise create a temp table):
select * into #temp from table where numLabels < 0 and numLabels > 0;
while @loop < 20 -- or whatever a maximum number might reasonably be
begin
insert into #temp select * from table where numLabels >= @loop
set @loop - @loop + 1
end
select * from #temp order by name, address -- something to keep copies of labels together
