XML scheme and Web services enhancement for MS Word integration in CRM 2007

Hi,
I am trying to use the Template designer and the web services tool in order to create a MS Word template for the quotation.
We have created a new web service, using the Web Service Tool
(transaction BSP_WD_CMPWB, type WS_DESIGN_TOOL). I can use this web service when creating a quotation word template and everything works fine.
I need to enhance the web service with some custom fields and logic. I found the blog:
Web-services enhancement for MS Word integration in CRM 2007
/people/community.user/blog/2008/11/18/web-services-enhancement-for-ms-word-integration-in-crm-2007
The blog describe how to enhance the web service, extend the output
structure etc.
We have done all the steps in the blog, and everything looks fine. When
we test the web service, using the Web Service Navigator, all the new
fields we added to the output structure are displayed. The WSDL
document also looks fine, displayed from the Web Service
Administration.
The problem occur when try to create the word template using the
Template Designer. The XML scheme is not displayed in the word
document. This only happens if we use an enhanced web service.
Anyone familiar with this issue?
Kind regards,
Johan Wigert

Hi,
You may have to upgrade your MS word 2003 to MS Word 2007.
Before you do that please opening View > toolbars > Task Pane and check if you can get XML Schema from the web service.

  • Web-services enhancement for MS Word

    Hi,
    I have done all the steps described in the blog /people/community.user/blog/2008/11/18/web-services-enhancement-for-ms-word-integration-in-crm-2007 about Web-services enhancement for MS Word,  but the last step I did not complete successfully.
    When I start the template designer no offer structure OUTPUT of web service, the template is blank.
    The funny thing is that when I delete the APPEND structure with fields Z, and I press Check button and activate the web service again I have no problem, I start the template designer and reappear standard fields.
    Anyone have any idea what happens?
    Thanks and regards

  • GTC Connector using SPML Format Provider and Web Services Transport Provide

    Hello All,
    Did any body create a GTC connector which uses SPML Format for Format Provider and Web Services format for Transport Provider?
    Is there any doc which talks about the same?
    I need to provision to a system over web services and I thought GTC using the above formats should be an easy approach. Am I right?
    I was trying to follow:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/doc.1111/e14309/devgtc.htm#BABDFDFE
    But Iam getting lost in the immerse details.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi ,
    I tried creating one and am getting the following error while provisioning:
    SPML Response failed V2 schema validation
    Th eoracle document says :Ensure that the SPML response returned by the target system conforms to the SPML V2 standard specification
    Please help me with the same. What is it that needs to be done here.

  • XML and Web Service Data Source Missing in Crystal Reports for VS

    I would like to use a Web Service as the data source for a Crystal Report that will be running outside of my Visual Studio application.  So setting the data source to the web service in code is not possible.  My understanding is Crystal Reports has a connection (in the Database Expert under New Connection) named XML and Web Service.  Here you can select web service and enter the WSDL URL for the web service.  However it does not appear in the list for Crystal Reports for Visual Studio.  Does this connection type come with the Visual Studio version of Crystal Reports and if not is their a way to obtain it?
    Thank you for your assistance.

    None of the bundled versions of CR have the driver. Reason is that the driver responsible for these connections requires the Java framework and I suspect MS would not be too pleased if we installed the Java framework. The stand alone versions, since they are not part of any bundle can and do install the Java framework and the driver. Note that even the latest release of CR - CRVS2010 does not have the driver as it essentially becomes a bundle or a VS2010 plug-in.
    So, the short of it is; you have to obtain a stand-alone version of CR. I'd recommend CR 2008 (12.x) as CRXI R2 will run out of support in June of this year.

  • Security for SOA and Web Services

    Dipak Chopra's 09 Dec 04 "Security for SOA and Web Services" piece has been a terrific starter for me as I start to delve into this topic. Does SAP/the SDN plan to publish an SAP-specific roadmap to show the adherence to and adoption of these standards in NetWeaver? (Or maybe there is such a published roadmap that I am unaware of?)

    Hi Randy
    SAP follows and participates in Security and other Web services standards very closely as we recognize the opportunity they present our customers for developing solutions and integrating systems faster at lower cost.
    However many of the standards are still in development and so are not quite yet ready for "prime time". This means that we can't really publish a "road map" as it would be continually changing. However, if you want an idea on which standards SAP thinks are important, please take a look at this presentation [1] which was delivered at the last Tech Ed.

  • How do I send XML to a web service?

    I am brand new to Flex. I am trying to write a program that
    uses web services to send and receive data. I have gotten it so
    that it can receive XML from the web service. However, I also need
    to send it, and I am stuck.
    I have tried the following code:
    <mx:WebService id="MyService"
    wsdl="
    http://localhost/FlexTest/service1.asmx?WSDL"
    useProxy="false"
    result="resultHandler(event)">
    <!-- Input: XML Document...Output: String -->
    <mx:operation
    name="HelloPersonAcceptsXmlDocumentReturnsString">
    <mx:request>
    <personXmlDoc>xmlPerson</personXmlDoc>
    </mx:request>
    </mx:operation>
    <!-- Input: XML Node...Output: String -->
    <mx:operation
    name="HelloPersonAcceptsXmlNodeReturnsString">
    <mx:request>
    <personXmlNode>
    xmlPerson.Person
    </personXmlNode>
    </mx:request>
    </mx:operation>
    <!-- Input: String (XML Format)...Output: String -->
    <mx:operation
    name="HelloPersonAcceptsXmlStringReturnsString">
    <mx:request format="xml">
    <personXmlString><p1:Person xmlns:p1="
    http://impact-tech.com/schemas/FlexTest"><p1:ID>f1bd45fc-544b-489d-83cf-349d1f9740ec</p1:I D><p1:FirstName>Joe</p1:FirstName><p1:MiddleName>C.</p1:MiddleName><p1:LastName>Blow</p1:L astName><p1:BirthDate>2006-09-11T14:03:04.4755443-04:00</p1:BirthDate><p1:IsMarried>false< /p1:IsMarried><p1:NumChildren>0</p1:NumChildren><p1:NetWorth>100000</p1:NetWorth></p1:Pers on></personXmlString>
    <!--<personXmlString>{xmlPerson.toXmlString()}</personXmlString>-->
    <!--<personXmlString>{txInput.text}</personXmlString>-->
    </mx:request>
    </mx:operation>
    </mx:WebService>
    In the first operation,
    "HelloPersonAcceptsXmlDocumentReturnsString", I try to send an XML
    object. In the second operation,
    "HelloPersonAcceptsXmlNodeReturnsString", I try to send the root
    node, xmlPerson.Person. In both cases, what actually gets sent is
    literally the text that I put in the <request>node, not the
    object that text is referencing. So for the first, "xmlPerson" gets
    sent to the target, not the XML doc that it refers to.
    In the third operation, I tried three different things, and
    two are commented out. I tried to reference the XML object using
    the toXmlString() method, but again, it literally sent the text
    "xmlPerson.toXmlString()". I tried the curly-brace binding, but
    then nothing gets sent to the web service. I also tried building
    the actual XML document node by node, with values, but I get an
    error from the web service saying it can't be parsed because there
    is an illegal character at Line 1, Position1. The only thing which
    has worked has been to add an Input Text box, copy-and-paste the
    exact same XML structure as I tried to manually build, and then use
    binding to the text property of the InputText control. Then it
    works fine. But I can't actually do that, it's just for testing.
    So my question is how to make a <request> node that is
    part of the web service operation that references an object and
    sends the value of that object to the web service, not literally
    whatever text is typed in that node. I looked at the Web Services
    and Data Binding sections of the help, and didn't see any examples
    covering this. Everything was far more simplistic with binding to
    controls. Can anyone help a newbie, please?

    I don't understand how this isn't a Flex Builder question,
    since it has to do with how Flex Builder interacts with web
    services and how objects are used in binding in MXML.
    But at any rate, I got this code to work, for future
    reference of anyone else looking in this forum:
    Declaring a custom class in MXML was key to allow proper
    binding:
    <CustomClasses:Person id="testPerson" xmlns:local="*"/>
    <mx:WebService id="MyService"
    wsdl="
    http://66.129.123.211/FlexTest/service1.asmx?WSDL"
    useProxy="false"
    result="resultHandler(event)">
    <!-- Input: XML Document...Output: String -->
    <mx:operation
    name="HelloPersonAcceptsXmlDocumentReturnsString">
    <mx:request>
    <personXmlDoc>{testPerson.GetXmlDoc()}</personXmlDoc>
    </mx:request>
    </mx:operation>
    </mx:WebService>

  • Web Services support for collection like ArrayList

    Getting this error message:
    "<Info> Did not find property empty in java.util.ArrayList:
    java.lang.NullPointerException"
    Are collections like ArrayList supported or am I trying to do something that
    can't be done? Any suggestions?
    Thanks
    Danny

    Hi Danny,
    Betcha thought I forgot 'bout cha, huh?
    I didn't ;-)
    The short answer to your question is no; WLS 6.1 does not support using any of
    the classes in java.util.*. However, it does support Object arrays as an element
    of an Object array, which means you can have code in you service implementation
    that looks like this:
    public Object[] getNestedObjects()
         Object[] objects = new Object[2];
         objects[0] = new Object[]{
              new String("23.76"),
              new Float((float)23.76)
         // Here, WorkOrder is a JavaBean or an object
         // that implements weblogic.soap.xml.XMLizable
         WorkOrder[] workOrders = new WorkOrder[]{
                        new WorkOrder(),
                        new WorkOrder(),
                        new WorkOrder()
         objects[1] = new Object[]{
              new String("My name is"),
              new String("Slim Shady"),
              workOrders
         return objects;
    The main issue I see with doing this is again, interoperability ;-)
    If the SOAP toolkit consuming the WSDL for the web service with the above method
    cannot handle the "xsd:anyType" XML Schema data type, you're in trouble. In general,
    SOAP toolkits want to know what type an element is so they can process it correctly.
    When you use a Variant data type (in Visual Basic) or java.lang.Object (in Java),
    you are basically promoting the use of weak data typing (or late binding). From
    what I've read about SOAP (well, actually what Don Box said he had in mind), XML
    Schema and namespaces were adopted to combat this very thing- weak or no data
    typing. Personally, I agree ;-) I think strong data typing makes processing a
    SOAP request much easier and faster, for everyone. Don't get me wrong, I don't
    have anything against object casting, but SOAP parameters (and return values)
    are not objects. They are XML elements, just like the other parts of the SOAP
    message. There is no behavior, just state. This being the case, isn't it safer
    to stick with the data types (e.g. arrays, structures, primitives, etc.) defined
    in the SOAP spec and "XML Schema Part 2: Datatypes" document? Enough SOAP boxing
    (pun intended). If you are interested in the "complexTypes" object graphs (using
    developer defined classes that implement weblogic.soap.xml.XMLizable) lab results,
    I can send you a zip. The biggest difference between using JavaBeans and objects
    that implement weblogic.soap.xml.XMLizable, is that you have much more control
    over which Java objects the later gets serialized/deserialized to/from. With classes
    that implement weblogic.soap.xml.XMLizable, the SOAP processor passes you the
    actual XML stream for the SOAP parameter (which in this case, is your developer
    defined class). It (the SOAP processor) also calls your developer defined class
    to get an XML representation for it's data types. It works great with Java clients
    (using the client.jar, of course), and I'm trying it out with .NET and MS SOAP
    clients this weekend. The most interesting revelation was figuring out how wsgen
    (well, actually the WSDL processor) generates the information in the <types> element
    of the WSDL ;-) I actually even know how to code an XMLizable so that it produces
    the exact element and attribute names I want. I also figure out how to get it
    to produce an <element ...>, as opposed to a <attribute ...>, and visa versa.
    Of course, WLS 7.0 (and WebLogic Workshop) make all of this a moot point, but
    it was fun to get the SOAP/WSDL processors in WLS 6.1 to "do my bidding" for a
    short while ;-)

    this.

    Hi all,
    I'm trying to export some data out of SF to an 3rd party via a web service. In the webUI I have the possibility(Attachment 1) to create a schema from web service so my outgoing file matches the requirements. In Eclipse I cannot find that option and I'm encoutering some errors (attachement 2).

  • XML Beans in Web Services / .xsd compilation

    Hello friends -
    I've been told of many wonderful things that can be accomplished by using XML
    beans in web service style integrations. However, I'm running into trouble actually
    getting anything done and was hoping someone could give me a few pointers. I'm
    trying to work inside Workshop 8.1 with the BEA server (i.e., not platform)
    - Documentation seems to reference the ability to compile an .xsd in order to
    get an XML Bean class representing your XML. However, I cannot find anything
    telling me how to do this. Is this supported in Workshop?
    - I'm only showing some classes referenced in the XML Beans Javadoc area as available
    inside my workshop IDE. For example, com.bea.xml.XmlBeans is not available.
    Is this a result of me using Server as opposed to the more complete Platform
    product?
    - Does anyone have a simple example .jws that utilizes a XML bean as an input
    or output? If so, I'd love to see it.
    Thanks so much.
    CM

    Hi,
    I thought passing XMLs was supported using SOAP. In this case, the XML data in the SOAP body is type "string" and the namespace of the XML inside separates it from the rest of the SOAP package. Can I do the same with...say... Web Dynpro where the WSDL is used to generate proxy classes. How do I add a namespace in the SOAP header so that I can add the XML in the body?
    I propose that life would be much easier if a datatype called XML, or some option before the WSDL is imported to create proxy classes is available which creates a wrapper for adding XML data. Far fetched...but can be done. Whats you opinion?

    1. A program which executes a proxy and with this proxy we are consuming a web services.
    2. The proxy and web services were implemented in the same Abap Machine .
    3. We execute the test and everything works very well and we consume the webservice and the program displays the expected result.
    Now want to know How can we use the Message Monitoring and the Sequence Monitoring . Is this posible ? Do we have to make any previous configuration?
    We don´t have any XI installation and for that we wonder if we can monitorize the  webservices  sequences ?
    Any idea about if we can realize such king of actions ..
    Many Thanks

    hi,
    short answer: you can't. to my knowledge there is no such thing as message/sequence monitoring outside of PI/XI.
    the only thing you can do is to enable debugging and access some debugging info from ST22. other than that you do not have access to the original (XML) message, the HTTP headers or the ST(simple transformation) info or anything else.

  • Best SOAP Web Services Architecture for E-Commerce

    Hi there,
    I have developed an E-Commerce system following the normal way of
    developing Java web applications (all classes and JSP files in one Eclipse web project).
    I want to modularize the application, I want to split the application into
    two applications:
    1. The core app, with SOAP web services methods
    2. The client (front-end JSP files and some servlets to request/receive responses from the SOAP web services core app)
    Basically, I want the servlets in the client app to call the core SOAP web services app for data such as
    get product by ID, get customer by ID, etc...
    The core SOAP web services app would then return a response in an XML format, which I then
    would map to Java objects at the client application.
    My questions are:
    1. Is this the right way to go?
    2. Where should the session management be? At the client app?
    Hope you can help?
    I have been thinking about a proper architecture for 2 years and honestly it's been giving me sleeping problems.
    Thanks!

    It works. Thanks,
