Xquery: fn-bea:uuid(): unknown function

When I create an xquery-function and try to use the bea function to generate auuid (fn-bea:uuid()),
I get an errormessage: Unknown function.
What do I have to configure to make use of bea xquery functions in my xquery?
Same question for xquery-functions created by myself?
Regards,
Rik

Possibly. I didnt use this patches - only read description.
I had similar problem - all "fn-bea:" functions dont work in my eclipse but works if I used them in sbconsole/osb webui.
PS. I have not solve this problem. If you solve - please report in this thread.

• Check-in Incomplete ; Unknown Function

I am running EPM 4.1.221 and am currently unable to get client computers to check in. The error reported is:

MS URL: https://myserver.leanderisd.org/auth...erservice.asmx
Error: 0x00000001: Incorrect function.

The security client is set up in Computer mode, and is authenticating to Active Directory.
I've performed the troubleshooting recommended in TID 3788192 to no avail. There are no SOAP errors in the event viewer and I can access the URL referenced in the TID with no certificate prompting.
The domain controller chosen for the AD source is not a PDC emulator and does contain a global catalog.
Can anyone recommend any further troubleshooting ideas?

Honestly, besides opening a ticket with Support, no ideas. If it is a bug, you'll not be charged.
Sorry I can't help here.

The most inscrutable part of the error is the "Error: 0x00000001:

• SES in mySAP ERP 2005 - UNKNOWN FUNCTION from TREX_RFC_GET_VERSION_INFO

After configuring the SES (TREXADMIN, RFC Destination and so on) I was able to run the indexing process successfully.
Selecting the TAB Version from the TCODE TREXADMIN I get the Exception: UNKNOWN FUNCTION from the Function Module call TREX_RFC_GET_VERSION_INFO in TREX_EXT_GET_VERSION_INFO.
The exception is not expected and a dump occurs.
Running a search via TREXADMIN (e.g. for LFA1) I'm getting the Exception OTHERS in FM TREX_EXT_SEARCH_DOCUMENTS at line 338 CALL FUNCTION 'TREX_RFC_SEARCH_DOCUMENTS_V3'.
Any idea?
Which TREX version is expected to work with mySAP ERP 2005? I installed all together from the same NW2004s DVDs.
Sergio

Hi Sergio,
Correct, ERP05 is based on NW04s (TREX 7.0).
You don't necessarily need TCODE TREXADMIN.
For running SES you can use TCODE SES_ADMIN.
To test SES you can use Program COM_SE_SEARCH_IIF_TEST
(You can start it using TCODE SE38).
In order to get the exception fixed, could you create a customer message in the Customer Support System (CSS) on the component BC-TRX-API, please.
Best regards,
Uwe

thanks

Steven,
1. Could you post configuration of the connection pool (an extract from config.xml)?
2. Also, is it possible that a connection is stored in web session directly
or as a field in some other object stored in a web session or a stateful
session bean? Or just as a field?

I just tried graceful-shutdown again which completed successfully.
However, I still get the same error that I showed below. So, it's not as
simple as saying it's due to force-shutdown.
Steven Ostrowski wrote:
This happened once after a graceful shutdown as well.
The reason I use force-shutdown more often is because almost every time
I do graceful shutdown, the shutdown hangs and never completes (even if
I turn on ignore sessions).

I think this would be difficult to prepare a nice example for you.
However, here is some more debug info which shows the connection pool
contents. I get this every time. I use force shutdown of my server
most often.That may be a hint. I'll guess that this occurs only during/after
force-shutdown, correct? If so, it can be safely ignored unless there
are any other more problematic symptoms. Let me know...

• Xquery exception: BEA-382510

Experts,
I am facing this weird issue in OSB, the explanation for the issue is:
Whenever the mange instances gets overloaded or even some time when they are running fine, I get this exception BEA-382510 from the message flow.
There is no problem with any xqueries or xpath or namespace. Everything is fine.
The issue gets resolved when i restart the mange instances.
There is no particular pattern which i could trace for the occurence of the issue. It is random in nature.
This is happening sometimes even in production and i am unable to figure out the root cause.
It would be great if any expert can throw more light on this.
Regards,
Deepak.

Hi,
I am getting the same issue on our OSB. Is there information about the reason of this issue? Any results of the investigation?
We are using Service Bus 11gR1. Using XQuery, transformation. I did few tests with a default xml messages, they failed with the same error. But the first time after editing and activating the service bus, the first message handled without error!!
The second attempt with the exact message result in error.
OSB Assign action failed updating variable "transformOutput":

Hi,
When I turn diagnostics on and set the jbo.show.function flag to true, the only function information I get is "UnknownFunction"
e.g something like:
<3>[923] (0) UnknownFunction ViewObject : Created new QUERY statementAny idea on what could be causing this behavior?
It also seems that i can't set diagnostics on by using a Diagnostics.properties file when running/debugging a jsp project: I have to add the command line parameters to the runner properties of the project.
Here is what I've done:
- created a new library containing only my oracle/jbo/common/Diagnostics.properties file
- put this library at the top of the library list

Also, when I position the cursor near the beginning or end of a clip and press both the option and command keys, an orange outline appears around the end of the clip and the neighboring clip is pushed away producing a space. Does anyone know what that is?

• Using fn-be:uuid()

I create a XQuery on oepe_11.1.1.8.0 and when I try to test, the follow error happens:
<error> Error occurred while executing XQuery: line 6, column 19: {err}XQ0017: "{http://www.bea.com/xquery/xquery-functions}uuid": unknown function (or number of arguments (0) is wrong). Either the XQuery is invalid or it contains custom XQuery functions. </error>
The XQuery source code:
declare namespace xf = "http://tempuri.org/MessageId/Concat/";
declare function xf:Concat($suffix as xs:string)
as xs:string {
fn:concat(fn-bea:uuid(),$suffix)
declare variable $messageId as xs:string external;
xf:Concat($messageId)
What is wrong?

Try using the web test console to test this XQuery (Right click on the XQuery file and select Run As ->Run On Server)

• Documentation for XQuery Functions?

I have been looking for more information on the Aqualogic specific XQuery functions but have so far come up short. In particular I want to know the details for fn-bea:uuid(). I would like to be able to generate a unique identifier to use for correlating messages that come through ALSB in my log. Is there somewhere that I can find a description of what this function does?

Where do I find documentation for APEX provided javascript functions such as addRow();?
addRow is undocumented.
Documented JavaScript methods are described in the API Reference, other documentation for the current version is located on the APEX Documentation page. Documentation for previous versions is located in the documentation archive.

• Unable to use fn-bea:execute-sql() in an XQuery in Workspace Studio 1.1

When we create an XQuery file in Workspace Studio 1.1 (ALSB 3.0), we are unable to use fn-bea:execute-sql(). It throws an error saying "unknown function". It doesnt allow us to publish the XQuery file to ALSB instance due to the "unknown function" error. However if we directly upload this file to ALSB console, it accepts it and the execute-sql function also works grrat. Can you please let us know if we have to configure anything on the Workspace studio to be able to use XQuery Extensions for Service Bus ? Or can you please let us know if we should declare any namespace in the XQuery file to use fn-bea:execute-sql() in Workspace studio ?

It sounds like a bug. Can you please contact bea support?
