Xs:duration string validation using java

I want to validate the string whether it is valid xs:duration type or not ?
The time interval is specified in the following form "PnYnMnDTnHnMnS"
P indicates the period (required)
nY indicates the number of years
nM indicates the number of months
nD indicates the number of days
T indicates the start of a time section (required if you are going to specify hours, minutes, or seconds)
nH indicates the number of hours
nM indicates the number of minutes
nS indicates the number of seconds
The following is an example of a duration declaration in a schema:
P5Y
P5Y2M10D
P5Y2M10DT15H
PT15H
-P10D(To specify a negative duration, enter a minus sign before the P)

String.matches("-?P(?=\\d+|T)(\\d+Y)?(\\d+M)?(\\d+D)?(T(?=\\d+)(\\d+H)?(\\d+M)?(\\d+S)?)?");will give :

DOM validation using Java is extremely slow

I have a large XML file ~8MB. When I do validation on it using java api, takes ~5 hours to process it.
I have narrowed down the problem to xs:unique rules in the schema file. When I remove these rules, validation takes ~1 min.
I have tried using MSXML parser with unique rules and it take about 30 min.
My question is how could I speed up the validation in Java with these unique rules in the schema.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Basically, you are saying removing the unique elements
from schema and do the checking myself. This means
everytime the schema is updated with new unique rules,
I will have to modify the code to check for unique
elements.
Is there any other way to tackle this problem?You can choose what processing is done with the XML parser, and what is done within java, if you control the schema. Uniqueness is one that I have preferred to perform in java, since I often perform other validations in java anyway, and it works well. Just my opinion.
If you post some XML/XSD code and list the parser you are using, someone that uses xs:unique may find something they can help you with.

Text is displayed in some kind of text component - JTextField, JTextArea, JTextPane....To change the font of the text you change the font associated with the text component:
textComponent.setFont( .... );

as far as i know java has an own api for crypting stuff.

Regular expressinos work just fine, especially when
searching for patterns. But they seem to be impying
it's a specific group of characters they're looking
for, and indexOf() is much faster than a regex.If he's reading from a file, the I/O time will likely swamp any performance hit that regex introduces. I think contains() (or indexOf() if he's not on 5.0 yet) is preferable to regex just because it's simpler. (And in the case of contains(), the name makes for a very clear, direct mapping between your intent and the code that realizes it.)

How to search for upper/lower case using string using JAVA!!!?

-I am trying to write a program that will examine each letter in the string and count how many time the upper-case letter 'E' appears, and how many times the lower-case letter 'e' appears.
-I also have to use a JOptionPane.showMessageDialog() to tell the user how many upper and lower case e's were in the string.
-This will be repeated until the user types the word "Stop".

Use Enum to Switch on Strings where one string is a java reserved word.

Hi,
I'm having problems switching on a string using enums, when one of the strings is a java reserved word. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Or maybe even a suggestion that I should just be stringing together if-else if and doing string compares rather than a switch.
I've been using the following method to switch on strings.

Then I can switch like
switch(MyEnum.stringValue( someString )

case bar:

Now I have run into the problem where one of the strings I need to use is "int", which is a reserved word in java, so I have to modify.
What is the best way to handle this?
I could just not add it to the Enum and handle it at the switch like this...

case bar:
break;
default:
if(someString.equals("int") { ... }
break;
OR...
I could change the Enum, and return intx, by checking if the string is "int". I could check before the valueOf, or during the exception, but I know it's not good practice to use Exceptions in the normal execution of your code... as it's not really an exception.

My advice is still to not name the enum the same as the value of the string you want to test for. That page I linked to shows how to have enums with parameters. Then you could have an enum whose name is (say) JavaInt and whose string value is "int".
But frankly if I wanted to map Strings to actions I would just use a Map<String, Action> instead of trying to force my code into an antique construction like switch.

How to calculate call duration using java card API

I am developing an application using Java card API. I want to calculate duration of otgoing calls in it. I am trying to start timer at the beginning of call in Call Control event. Can someone kindly check following code of Call control event? Here timerManagement function is sending proactive command for starting timer for 3 hours. Here I am asuming that maximum call will be of 3 hours. In callDisconnect event i can get current value of timer and use it to calculate duration of call. But this scenario is also not working.
Problem is that during code execution program stuck at send command (proHdlr.send();) of timmerManagement function. I am sending postAsBERTLV command before starting timer so may be reason is that it is not possible to send proactive command while phone is busy.
But I also cannot send postAsBERTLV after timerManagement function. Because it is mention in specification that "The EnvelopeResponseHandler content must be posted before the first invocation of a ProactiveHandler.send method or before the termination of the processToolkit, so that the GSM applet can offer these data to the ME (eg 9Fxx/9Exx/91xx). After the first invocation of the ProactiveHandler.send method the EnvelopeResponseHandler is no more available"

I am also unable to start timer in call connected event. I cannot send any proactive command while phone is busy. I am using Gemalto development Suite and there simulators (Simulation 2G chain).
Is it limitation of simulator that you cannot send any proactive command while phone is busy?
Is there any other work around for getting call duration?
