I need some help, I have to change the layout of a report written in xsl.
My question are :
1) Exists a graphical tool to change layout?
2) Am I in the right directions?

Why do you need to update XSL-FO output?
XML Publisher is the tool to generate this output based on XML data and a template.
So I don't think you are in the right direction.

It would have helped if you had posted your code as CODE but as it is, I could hardly read it. My guess about what you are asking is, if you want a template to return a value, just write that value to the result stream inside the template.
If that wasn't what you were asking, then please post your code in a readable format.

How to add numbers in XML?567- 5+6+7=18?

I have a requirement in check printing to print the check no at the bottom of the check.
1.     Compute sum of all the digits in the check number and divide it by 9.
E.g.:
1.     0+0+7+0+0+5+7+9 = 28 (SUM)
2.     28 / 9 = 3 (with remainder 1)
3.2.     Compute the difference between 9 and the remainder in step 2. This number is the check digit (Modulus 9).
E.g.:
1.     9 – 1 = 8
2.     8 is the check digit.
If the remainder in Step2=0, then the check digit is 9
So I will display 007005798
In XML or XSL , How can I do this?
Question: Is there any built in SQL function available to compute the sum of individuals of a number?For eg 567-> 5+6+7=18
If I am ending up wrinting a function for the above how can I call that in RTF?

How to access static resources in ear without specifing context-root

Hello, i have a problem with my ear.
The war's structure is like this:

/error.xsl
/input.xsl
xsl files reference css and images files that are contained in css and images dir.
I can't use the "../" to specify css and images path into xsl and jsp due to security policy setting on the Http server (and I can't change this policy).
In the ear's application.xml is specified the context root of the module web with the name SABEARWeb

I think you can use that xsl file in your XSLT mapping.
You can only use XSDs,DTDs or WSDLs for your message types.

once a xslt is added to the interface mapping as XSL how its getting compiled/loaded/executed at runtime, since we adding the xslt code as such to the imported archives?did all these steps will take place for each message processing? or is there any approach like xslt caching which will improve the performance at runtime?

Unable to define a policy OAM

I have created a workflow for oragnisation manager and i have protected the workflow url using form based authentication. but wen i click org manager in identity system, form based authentication populates even after logging into identity system.

I think that you may have the Authentication Level of the form scheme at a higher level than that of the scheme which is protecting the general Identity System urls - so it will always challenge the user when accessing the workflow url.

I'm generating a parser according to 3 DTDs:

devinf.dtd
metinf.dtd
I have translated the DTDs in 3 XML schemas with DTD to XML Schema translator (found on w3c) that Translate a Document Type Definition (XML 1.0 DTD) into an XML schema (REC-xmlschema-1-20010502):

The main.dtd contains an element Meta defined such as:

AND 2 elements Format and Type!!!!
Converting to Schema:

The metinf DTD defines the elements Type and Format such as after converting in schema we have:

The devinf DTD defines also these two elements !!!!
I tried to modify the main schema to import the devinf and metinf schema. However when I try to compile, I receive the error that the compiler atempts to generates the same interface (Format and Type) from the 3 different schema.
(compile line is:
xjc -jar %JAVA_LIBS%\jaxb-xjc.jar -p mypackage devinf.xsl metinf.xsl main.xsl)
How could I do to obtain a Parser that could read and write the following XML:

The solution for the above problem is to define a custom binding (specifying per example a different package for the different DTDs)

** How to use TO_DATE function in Stored Proc. for JDBC in ABAP-XSL mapping

I use ABAP-XSL mapping to insert records in Oracle table. My Sender is File and receiver is JDBC. We use Oracle 10g database. All fields in table are VARCHAR2 except one field; this is having type 'DATE'.
I use Stored procedure to update the records in table. I have converted my string into date using the Oracle TO_DATE function. But, when I use this format, it throws an error in the Receiver CC. (But, the message is processed successfully in SXMB_MONI).
The input format I formed like below:
<X_EMP_START_DT hasQuot="No" isInput="1" type="DATE">
Value in Payload is like below.
<X_EMP_START_DT hasQuot="No" isInput="1" type="DATE">TO_DATE('18-11-1991','DD-MM-YYYY')</X_EMP_START_DT>
Error in CC comes as below:
Error processing request in sax parser: Error when executing statement for table/stored proc. 'SP_EMP_DETAILS' (structure 'STATEMENT'): java.lang.NumberFormatException: For input string: "TO_DATE('18"

I used the syntax

in my Abap XSL. But, its not working correctly. The problem is 'href' function to import "date.xsl" in my XSLT is not able to do that. The system throws an error. Moreover, it is not able to write the command 'extension-element-prefixes' in my <xsl:stylesheet namespace>
May be I am not able to understand how to use this.
Anyway, I solved this problem by handling date conversion inside Oracle Stored Procedure. Now, its working fine.

How to specify relative path for background image in xsl

Hi,
I am generating a PDF from Apcahe FOP. I have an xsl for that, in the xsl fo:block I am displaying a background image. When the image path is absolute like..C:\image\logo.png it works fine. But I want to have the image in my WebContent\images folder and my xsl file is in WebContent\xsls folder. So when I try giving the relative path as ../images/logo.png, the image is not displayed.
Can anyone tell how to do this???

                    </fo:block>In the above code you can see that the the background-image="url('http://localhost:8080/Project/images/table_header_center.png')"
has been given as absolute. The images folder is in my WebContent directory. I want this path to be relative to the context of my application , something like background-image="url('../images/table_header_center.png')".

How to call a SQL function from an XSL expression

Hi
In R12, in Payroll Deposit adivce/Check writer, We need to sort the earnings tag <AC_Earnings> in to two different categories as regular and other earnings. In the DB and form level of element defintiion we have a DFF which differentiates between the two kinds of earnings. But the seeded XML that is gerneated by the check writer does not have this field.
The seeded template displays all the earnings in one column. How can we achieve this in the template without modifying the seeded XML.
The one approach i have is to write a function and based on the return value sort the data. For this I need to know :
1) How to call a SQL function from an XSL expression that is allowed in BI template.
If anyone ahs faced similar requirements please share your approach.

Do it using addLoadEvent() or Windows.Load etc

How to not repeat data in XSL-FO

Thank you for taking the time to read this. Hopefully, I can adequately convey to you what the problem is.
XSL-FO is 1.0
APEX Listener is 2.0.5
APEX 4.2.4
Altova StyleVision 2014 EE
Using Altova StyleVision, I have created an XSL-FO file that gets uploaded to APEX to create a Report Layout for a Report Query. It runs okay in that data is returned. However, formatting the data is the problem. Here is plain representation of how the data appears in the report now:

I need it to look like this:

For some reason, I can't seem to get the repeating data to be hidden. Keep in mind, grouping was not available until 2.0, and I need to use 1.0. This is, overall, a complex report, so coding by hand is probably not possible. How can I get Altova StyleVision to do this? I understand this isn't an Altova forum. I tried that resource already with no luck. What I'm wondering is what concepts or syntax in XSL-FO do I need to understand to get this to work? And going to W3 Schools didn't work for me, either. I just can't seem to get my mind wrapped around this for some reason.
