Xsl value in html a href="" tag

Hi all,
I am converting the xml data to html using xsl file.In this I need to give link (<a href=") in html from the value of xml element.
I assigned the value to a variable in xsl as vId and I try to use it in the href attribute.
example:
</xsl:value-of>>hello!!
But xsl is not allowing this action.
How to assign the xsl variable value to href attribute?
Help me to slove this problem.
regards,
Selva.

          <xsl:attribute name="href">
<xsl:value-of select="$vId"/>
</xsl:attribute>

by doing so u will generate the tag dynamically

  • How to get a value given to a button in HTML using a href tag

    Hi,
    In my application I have loaded  html  content  in WebView. In the HTML file i have used a Button to which i have given some value in href tag as
    <a href="ButtonClick//testing/mysample">
    <input type="button" value="Click me" />
    </a>
    When i click the button i want to get the string "ButtonClick//testing/mysample" in my app..  But i do not want to use InvokeScript() on my webview.. Could anyone please give me a solution for this?..
    Thank you.

    The only way to interact with HTML content from WebView is using JavaScript. You can do this by invoking such scripts from your C# code (using InvokeScript) or embedding the JavaScript method into the button you are working with.
    But you need to know that if you intend to get a return value from your JavaScript code, you would need to use the InvokeScript.
    Here's an example of printing the value from your hyperlink without InvokeScript. But note that it only prints the value and can't return the value to your C# code without InvokeScript.
    string htmlContent = @"
    <html>
    <head>
    <script type='text/javascript'>
    function myFunction()
    document.getElementById('myResult').innerHTML = document.getElementById('myLinkConent').href.substring(6); //remove 'about:' from href string
    </script>
    </head>
    <body>
    <a id='myLinkConent' href='ButtonClick//testing/mysample'>
    </a>
    <input type='button' value='Click me' onclick='myFunction()'/>
    <p id='myResult'></p>
    </body>
    </html>";
    Let me know if this helps.

  • Is xsl:value-of disable-output-escaping="yes"/ Supported in 2.0.2.6?

    I can't seem to display HTML from XML.
    In my XML file I store the HTML snippet in an XML tag:

    <xsl:value-of select="body.HTMLcontent" disable-output-escaping="yes"/>
    However, the HTML output <PRE>&#60;</PRE>is still outputted and all of the HTML tags
    are displayed in the browser. How do I display the HTML properly?
    Bob Hewett
    [email protected]

    This makes sense. Here's why.
    oraxsl internally uses the:
    void XSLProcessor.processXSL(style,source,printwriter);
    XSLSample.java uses:
    DocumentFragment XSLProcessor.processXSL(style,source);
    The former supports <xsl:output> and all
    options related to writing out output
    that might not be valid XML (including the disable output escaping)
    The latter is pure XML-to-XML tree returned,
    so no <xsl:output> or disabled escaping
    can be used since nothing's being output,
    just a DOM tree fragment of the result is
    being returned.

  • Xsl transformation from html to text.

    Hi, i want to tranform an html source and produce a output as text. All i want to do is to output values from my input fields in my html source. Any ideas on how i would construct my xsl file.
    example :
    HTML:
    <html>
    <body>
    <input name="od" type="text" value="123">
    <input name="id" type="text" value="456">
    </body>
    </html>
    would simply give :
    123
    456
    Thanks for your help !!!

    Here is what I came up with. I changed the regular HTML into XHTML then created a stylesheet that would use XPath to find and display the values or the value fields:
    test.xml (XHTML version of the HTML you posted)
    ======================================
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <?xml-stylesheet type="text/xsl" href="test.xsl"?>
    <html>
    <body>
    <input name="od" type="text" value="123"/>
    <input name="id" type="text" value="456"/>
    </body>
    </html>
    test.xsl
    ======
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform">
    <xsl:template match="/">
    <html>
    <head>
    <title>Input values</title>
    </head>
    <body>
    <xsl:for-each select="html/body/input">
    <xsl:value-of select="@value"/>
    </xsl:for-each>
    </body>
    </html>
    </xsl:template>
    </xsl:stylesheet>
    this gives the desired result.

  • XML-22009: (Error) Attribute 'select' not found in 'xsl:value-of'

    Hello,
    I'm a long-time Siebel developer but novice to BIP, trying to enhance some complex rtf templates that an experienced xdo/bip developer (contractor) designed for us in the past, with a couple of new fields that have been added to the integration object.
    All templates and sub-templates receive 'no errors found' when using add-in tool selection of 'Validate Template'. Unfortunately we cannot utilize the 'preview' capability due to the way the sub-templates are called, so only way to test is to upload into server and attempt to run real-time.
    This results in UI error of SBL-OMS-00203, which when we dig into the xdo log file turns out to be:
    <Line 648, Column 88>: XML-22009: (Error) Attribute 'select' not found in 'xsl:value-of'.
    I have exported all templates and sub-templates into XSL-FO Style Sheet and looked at line 648 column 88, and none of them seem to correspond to this line/column combination (in fact most exports do not even go that high in lines).
    Googling 'XML-22009' hasn't proven to be of much help, so reaching out to the xdo experts in this forum.
    How are the line/column #'s determined in the xdo log output?
    I am pretty sure that it must be some issue with my 'Main' template, since none of the sub-templates have been changed (and the current version of the report, without the new fields incorporated, still runs fine from the UI). In the XSL-FO format export of the (modified, with new fields added) 'Main.rtf' file, line 648 places it right in the midst of a bunch of hex which corresponds to an imbedded image (which was also part of the existing template, no change there) and that line only has 65 columns (i.e. doesn't even go up to 88), so I'm questioning how valid the Line/Column information is in the xdo log error message.
    Any hints on troubleshooting this one would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks & Regards,
    Katrina

    Hi,
    as I wrote in the inital message, we even left out the output method or used "application/pdf". The result is unfortunately always the same. And I still claim this is not a problem with the stylesheet itself, it has to do something with the mobile's environment.
    Something I didn't tell: we have 2 servlets in our application, 1 responsible for output in html and 1 in pdf. The .fo stylesheet passed to the 'html servlet' is parsed correctly (and shows the source code, because it does not know about fo and conversion to pdf), the .xsl stylesheet passed to the 'pdf servlet' raises same exception/same line. You might tell us that there is a problem with the 'pdf servlet', but once again: why in online it is working?
    Greetings and thanx very much for your precious time!

  • How to use ora:processXSLT to create HTML with BR tags included?

    I am using a .xsl to create HTML for use as part of a notification process. The issue is that if in the .xsl I include the
    tag, when the transform engine runs to make the HTML it creates <br> tags with out the maching </br> tags. (in doing some reading this seems to be a feature of most XSLT engines) But the result is invalid XML, so when I attempt to assign the output to a variable the process faults and I get the following error:
    XPath expression failed to execute.
    Error while processing xpath expression, the expression is "ora:processXSLT("XML_PURCHASE_ORDER_to_HTML.xsl", bpws:getVariableData("inputVariable", "payload", "/ns1:XML_PURCHASE_ORDER"))", the reason is The XML data is invalid.
    The XML data is invalid; the reason is "Error on line 100 of document : The element type "br" must be terminated by the matching end-tag "

    You can probably set the output format in the stylesheet, like:
    <xsl:output method="txt" indent="no" omit-xml-declaration="yes" />
    if you really don't want to use xhtml. The result might have to be wraped in a cdata block in the bpel flow?
    cheers

  • DW is rendering a href tag when i drag image into code field

    When i drag an image file into the code view in DW it is
    creating an a href tag rather than an IMG SRC= tag. I am using a
    virtual dedicated server, for the first time, and i don't know if
    it has anything to do with the server settings or with the settings
    in DW.
    I am also having a second problem when trying to save a html
    file to the remote server. If i select "Save file to Remote Server"
    i can't link to the page in my browser unless i include ".html" at
    the end of the link in the <a href> tag. I should not have to
    add the .html at the end of my link in order to go to that page. I
    have never had this happen before, but i have never used a virtual
    dedicated server before either. Again, not sure if this is related
    to the server settings or DW.
    Can anyone help me with these 2 issues?

  • Syntax to pass parameter value to jsp using href in out.println

    Hi,
    I have the URL in the form as mentioned below:
    <a href="b2c/marketing/showDocDetail.jsp"> <%=doc_no%></a>
    I've created the hyperlink using href tag to the document number in the jsp using the below syntax.
    <% String a1 = "Document ";
           String a2 = "<a href=\"";
           String a3 = "marketing/showDocDetail.jsp\">";
           String a4 = doc_no;
           String a5 = "</a>";
    out.println(a1a2a3a4a5);
    %>
    When clicked the doc_no is passed to backend RFC and export parameter is retrieved to result.jsp where values along with doc_no are displayed.
    the value after clicked is not being passed to action.java class that does the retreival.
    Needful, backend class, bom, entry in config.xml is all maintained.
    Please help me out with the syntax to pass the parameter value into java class

    Hi Bharathi,
    try below.
    <%
           String a1 = "Document ";
           String a2 = "<a href=\"";
           String a3 = "marketing/showDocDetail.do?docNo=";
           String a4 = doc_no;
           String a5 = " \">";
           String a6 = doc_no;
           String a7 = "</a>";
    out.println(a1+a2+a3+a4+a5+a6+a7);
    %>
    I assume doc_no is java variable contains value of document number
    Now create action entry in config.xml file. Suppose "actionDoc.java" class process it.
    <action path="/marketing/showDocDetail" type="com.xyz.actions.actionDoc">
                   <forward name="success" path="/marketing/showDocDetail.jsp"/>
                   <forward name="error" path="/marketing/showDocDetail.jsp"/>
    </action>
    We are passing parameter docNo=doc_no to action class actionDoc.java in this class you can retrieve request parameter docNo from request object and then process it as you want.
    Let me know if you face any problem or error.

  • REPLY to xsl:output method="html" posting

    Due to a problem with the discussion software, I cannot reply to postings
    with a less-than sign in the Subject!
    As you can imagine in an XML forum where
    angle-brackets are common, this is a real
    pain! The OTN guys tell me they are
    working on a solution.
    We fully support all options of <xsl utput>
    The problem here is that your XSL Stylesheet must be a well-formed XML document, so everywhere you are using the <BR> element, you need to use
    instead.
    <xsl utput method="html"/> requests
    that when the XSLT Engine writes out
    the result of your transformation,
    is a propert HTML document.
    what the XSLT engine reads in must
    be well-formed XML.

    Sorry for jumping in on this thread, but I have a question regarding you reply. I have an XSL stylesheet that preforms XML to HTML conversion. Everything works correctly with the exception of those HTML tags that are not weel formed. Using your example if I have something like:
    <xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform">
    <xsl:output method="html"/>
    <input type="text" name="{NAME}" size="{DISPLAY_LENGTH}" maxlength="{LENGTH}"></input>
    </xsl:stylesheet>
    It would render HTML in the format of
    <HTML>
    <input type="text" name="in1" size="10" maxlength="20"/>
    </HTML>
    While IE can handle this Netscape can not. Is there anyway to generate completely cross browser complient HTML with XSL?
    Thanks!

  • HTML a href Attribute in Safari

    I have set up my personal homepage using a number of HTML a href attributes inside a table, so that when I click on one of these, it will take me down to the appropriate anchor defined by HTML a name. This works fine in Firefox, but does not seem to work in Safari 3.2.1. In Safari, it simply stays put and does not take me down to the appropriate anchor.
    Example of my HTML:
    <tr>
    <td>Favourites</td>
    <td>Airlines</td>
    <td>Architecture</td>
    <td>Art, Images, Pictures, Photography & Posters</td>
    <td>Books, Book Stores, Literature, Literary Societies</td>
    <td>Cars</td>
    <td>CCCV</td>
    </tr>
    Airlines
    Cathay Pacific
    Qantas
    Frequent Flyer
    Singapore Airlines
    Virgin Blue Australia
    <hr>
    Architecture
    Monument Environments
    <hr>

    Hi Alex,
    Have you tried dropping the <base> tag in the header? That should make the named anchors load quicker as well as the browser won't attempt to re-download the page all over again.
    Also, your DOCTYPE declaration seems a bit out of date. I don't think it's affecting anything as such but you might want to update it. I only mention it as the W3C validator check [marks it as being problematic|http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fmembers.optusnet.com .au%2Falexcywong%2F&charset=(detect+automatically)&doctype=Inline&group=0].
    I should note that I can't actually test that recommended change above in Safari as I'm not on a Mac at the moment, but it does help with a browser that uses WebKit on my current machine.
    Hope that helps.

    <xsl:template match="/">
    <HTML>
    <HEAD></HEAD>
    <BODY>
    <P>
    Blah blah<BR>
    More blah blah<BR>
    </P>
    </BODY>
    </HTML>
    </xsl:template>
    My question is: "How do I use a not
    well-formed tags (like <IMG>, <BR>, etc.)
    in a XSL stylesheet?"
    Thank you very much in advance!
    Cheers.
    Georgi

    Sorry for jumping in on this thread, but I have a question regarding you reply. I have an XSL stylesheet that preforms XML to HTML conversion. Everything works correctly with the exception of those HTML tags that are not weel formed. Using your example if I have something like:
    <xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform">
    <xsl:output method="html"/>
    <input type="text" name="{NAME}" size="{DISPLAY_LENGTH}" maxlength="{LENGTH}"></input>
    </xsl:stylesheet>
    It would render HTML in the format of
    <HTML>
    <input type="text" name="in1" size="10" maxlength="20"/>
    </HTML>
    While IE can handle this Netscape can not. Is there anyway to generate completely cross browser complient HTML with XSL?
    Thanks!

  • Syntax for href tag in out.println

    Hi,
    In the jsp, the table displays document number from the for loop in it.
    I'm trying to put a hyperlink using href tag to the document number which is in the value "table.getString("VBELN")"
    out.println(var + table.getString("VBELN"));
    I do not know the correct syntax or any alternative to acheive the hyperlink for the document numbers displayed in the jsp. One that I tried is
    out.println(var + "<a href="">" + table.getString("VBELN") + "</a>");
    Appreciate your timely help.
    Thanks.

    Thanks Ashish.
    I too had the same problem and so couldn't post my question properly and completely.
