  • I reinstall the Yosemite due to the wifi issue, when finished, the iMovie was not installed, I try to download it from app store, but it's not free. How can I get iMovie back?

I'm using a mid 2014 13" rmbp. I reinstall the Yosemite due to the wifi issue, when finished, the iMovie was not installed, I try to download it from app store, but it's not free. How can I get iMovie back?

It's something to do with the main user account (not iTunes account) on my Mac because I logged in with another account and it downloaded fine, I installed it on the HDD and even though the date in App Store was 16th October 2014, it is the full installer of 10.10.2.
To try to resolve this problem, I have copied the installer app elsewhere and deleted it but App Store still will not allow me to download it with my main user account yet just allowed me to update iTunes.
I had a brainwave last night that it might have been related to me changing the default downloads folder to one not on my boot drive (to save disk space on my main boot drive) but having changed it back, tried again, rebooted and tried yet again, deleted my App Store preferences. nothing has worked.

  • In Yosemite Mail, there is an issue where the signatures no longer toggle as in the past. If you change the existing signature, it just adds the new one vs replacing it within the body of the message. Thoughts?

    Hi howe.sc,
When I checked for how signatures in Yosemite work, I found this.
Mail (Yosemite): Include signatures in messages
Delete a signature from a message: Select the signature, then press the Delete key.
Replace a signature in a message: Delete the existing signature, then add a different signature.
That sounds similar to what you are describing.
    Take care,

    Try this:
Go to System Preferences - Bluetooth. Delete the keyboard from the list of devices by pressing the "-" button. Take the batteries out of the keyboard and reinsert them. In Bluetooth Preferences press the '+" button to add the new device. If the keyboard begins to pair, click the word "pair" and type in the passcode. Press return. The keyboard is now paired.
If the mouse is not pairing, try this: shut down the computer completely, unplug any USB mice, then turn off the power to the bluetooth mouse.  ONce the computer starts up again, wait for the pop-up looking for a mouse.  Turn on the power to the bluetooth mouse.  It should work normally now.

  • Yosemite calendar syncing and other issues

    Hello all,
I am running latest versions of IOS 8 on IPAD Air2, iPhone5S and latest Yosemite on IMAC intel last year model.
    There are few issues here....
In Mavericks when I edited an event in calendars it would show up almost immediately on my phone. No more. In Yosemite I would edit an event and it seems like a 50/50 chance it would RETAIN in the Yosemite calendar. And if it does, it does no sync across devices. This is a pain in my ***.
Second issue is when I use the 'shutdown' feature top left corner of OS X, the unit would begin to shut down then the spinning logo would keep spinning and unit would never shut down. The energy saver would take effect. I come from work thinking it was shut down, press the power button on back and the unit 'wakes' and continues with spinning shutdown logo.
Third issue, my iPhone randomly asks for the iCloud password, even though it is enable across all of my three devices.
Other than these issues I love Yosemite and IOS 8, but these are really kicking me from behind.
I appreciate any and all help!
    Thanks

I have the same problem.  Events entered on the macbook are not going to the cloud.

  • Upgraded to yosemite and now having password issues and slow start up

I have upgraded my macbook pro to the OS X Yosemite operating system and now encountering start up and password issues.
Previously on start up my system would go to the log on icon within 10 to 15 seconds of pushing the on button. Now there is horizontal loading indicator bar appearing and takes about 30seconds to 1 minute to go away before getting to the log on screen and if I click on my icon the system goes live on screen without having to put in a password which is an obvious security issue.
I have tried adding a password however each time I try to put my old password in it tells me it is the wrong one.
I am operating Yosemite 10.10.2 on a macbook pro with 8gb memory with i7 processor..
The computer was running perfectly ok before this up grade so I had resisted previous prompts to upgrade due to the bad press this system was getting last year. I thought Apple would have had this all sorted by now??
I  would appreciate any help if anyone knows how to resolve these issues.

Install the version of Java they want from here: Java for OS X 2014-001
    See if CS 5.1 launches.
If not reinstall CS5.1 and any updates.

  • Slow Yosemite, partially solved; nagging spotlight issues

Since I have upgraded to Yosemite, I felt like I was using Windows 95: Services regularly in an unresponsive state, spinning ball all the time with the computer freezing for 5 seconds at a time, Mission Control not showing up, etc.
From this forums, someone suggested that I may have incompatible software, so I looked more closely and started to disable various kernel extensions, etc.
Things got better when I got rid of
    - Pace drivers and updated them
    - CleanMyMac 2
Then I still had some services stuck, especially CoreAudio; another thread suggested that it may be the program 'Hear'.
    - Hear... gone...
The mac worked better; Mission control started working again after I deleted most of my profile data.
But there were still some issues and the computer was just slow.. I had a lot of error in the console with spotlight trying to index files owned by a user that doesn't exist; I removed those files and it was like having a new computer.
But still a slow new computer...
I looked more closely at spotlight's activity and I found that it is indexing a lot of things I really don't want it to index. I am using Logic Pro a lot and the last thing I want is the hard drive to be busy during recording.
I disabled Spotlight to see and, yes! the computer became faster. So I added a lot of folders in the privacy section, in Spotlight settings, but I am finding that it totally ignores some of them.
I do NOT want it to index /Library and /Users/me/Library; I added those, but they are still getting indexed.
    I am thinking about pr

  • Yosemite file Vault caused login issue

Today i tried to login with new MAC, Normally,we can login with our AD account, today i just found no network user, only admin account.
Finally, the issue caused by FileVault
Click Turn On FileVault. If your Mac has multiple users, a list of users appears. You can allow users to log in after the Mac starts up. If you don’t, an administrator must log in before the user does.
OS X Yosemite: Encrypt the contents of your Mac with FileVault

Filevault can't have lost your account password it is a system for encrypting the data on your hard drive to prevent people from accessing it without the password. If anything went wrong in that process you cannot break the encryption on that in any easy fashion. Call AppleCare for further assistance since its a new OS you will not be charged for assistance. I had the same problem last year, I enabled filevault and lost my recovery key after a move, luckily I chose to send a copy to Apple during its setup and they could get me sorted out. Good Luck.

  • Logic Pro X and Eleven Rack Sound Card Problem. Intermittent? MacBook Pro Yosemite. Anyone having this issue too?

    Ok,
Avid Eleven Rack Audio Interface with latest firmware into usb MacBook Pro running 10.10.3 (latest Yosemite)
Logic X and the sound card do not see the Eleven Rack all the time. *Intermittently*, but more often than not, I can't select the eleven rack as my interface either in Logic X Preferences>Audio>Devices or System Preferences>sound pref as the eleven rack does not show up in either list to be able to even select it.
Real pain when you are writing and have a flow of ideas and need to get a recording down. Anyone else having this issue? I have tried both usb ports in the macbook pro and the same results.
Of course I unplug and replug the usb cable. Still nothing. I have to quit Logic Pro X and restart to even get a chance for the eleven to even show up in either list.
Once I can select it then I also have a problem with being able to record (it records and gets input not prob) but on playback their is no output (with correct output selected) so I then have to use a Logic X template where the output is set exactly the same as what I am trying currently but for some reason it works with the template on the same exact settings. Mighty pain. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am going to try my Eleven on another computer to see what happens too but thought I would ask here.
    Thanks
    ejh

First make sure you are using the latest drivers...
    http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/Download/Eleven-Rack-Drivers
However the latest ones are not yet confirmed as working to OS X 10.10.3 so you may need to wait for an update from Avid....
    Test and see....
Note: It's always a good idea not to update OS X or Logic Pro until after you have checked if there are working drivers for your external hardware first.. especially, in my personal opinion... in the case of Avid hardware drivers which are know to lag behind in development..

  • HP Photosart 7520, printing photo from iMac iPhoto, OSX Yosemite 10.10.1 color issues

First time ever tried printing a photo - on HP photo paper, using HP ink cartridges. It prints a color portrait accurately, except for eye glass frames and shadow shades which it prints in "green". I tried editing the same portrait in iPhoto to black and white and printing.   Again, accurate shades of black and white except for the eye glass frames & shadow shades which  printed in "green". Ruins the photo. Help please.

    Hello Artiste,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having an issue with some portions of the print outs when printing photos.
Please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
I have also located a document on Fixing Print Quality Problems for the HP Photosmart 7520 e-All-in-One Printer Series.
If the troubleshooting does not help resolve your issue, I would then suggest calling HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you. If you are calling within North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions, click here: click here.

  • Black Screen Mac OSX Yosemite (though not the common issue)

Hi all I've read a lot of posts already about the black screen that seems to be plaguing people lately, but my issue seems to be slightly different. When I open Spotify it loads for a while (about 2-3 minutes): http://i.imgur.com/4qQYdJI.png Then, for no more than a minute, I get the fabled black screen. Nothing loads, playlists are blank, and nothing can be selected to be played: http://i.imgur.com/wFNWMpe.png Before long, however, I reach the final stage of blackness: http://i.imgur.com/I9uQotr.png  All I can do by this point is use the play/pause button on my mac, which will continue to play Mark Pritchard's 'Elephant Dub' (which, don't get me wrong, is not a bad thing--could have far worse tracks to get stuck on). I've tried reinstalling Spotify multiple times with no luck. I have noticed however that there is no Spotify cache and no folder in Application Support, and reinstalling does not bring these back.  Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm running OSX 10.10.4 if that at all helps. Thanks in advance!

    Hi
    they are asking me:
    1) if You followed the steps listed here when reinstalling: https://support.spotify.com/learn-more/faq/#!/article/reinstallation-of-spotify
    2) the exact Spotify version that he's running. He can find this by heading to Spotify > About Spotify.
    Thank you!
    Best regards,
    Camillo

  • Update from Yosemite Beta to Public Release Issues

I have been using the Yosemite Public Beta for a few months now, and I am wanting to install the public release of Yosemite from the Mac App Store. Every time I download the full install from the App Store and start installation, about 80% of the way to completion, my MacBook just resets and goes back to my desktop? The install app is deleted and the App Store does not show that I have installed it? Am I doing something wrong?

You cannot...there iOS no incremental download.  You have to go to the App Store, Purchases and download all 5.16 GB of the installer.  There were minor changes in going to the final, but the requirement now is to download the complete installer.  It comes into Finder, Applications as OS X Yosemite Installer.

  • Yosemite and iCloud Drive Performance Issue

While on my home network that is connected to the Internet over FiOS 50 G bps, I upgraded my Mac Book Pro Retina from Mavericks to Yosemite.  The upgrade went smoothly.
I first noticed that when I boot my Mac Book, it boots slower like Windows...
When I took it into my office and used a slow WiFi hot spot, the system crawled.  Safari, Google, and other apps barely responded.
During the upgrade, I "blindly" selected to use the iCloud Drive.   Foolish me!   I tried to turn it off, but then it warned me it would delete all documents on my Mac that are also stored on the iCloud.
How do I turn iCloud drive completely off when I don't want to use it and KEEP all my local files???    Later, I'd like to turn it back on when I'm on my faster network and THEN sync everything.
Also, I started turning off specific Apps and rebooted.  Performance has improved.
    Regards,
    Nick

But Is there an option to retain copies of the files that have been stored on iCloud?   I don't want to delete them.   Later, when I connect back to iCloud drive, if I have made any changes on any of these files on my Mac and they are newer than the version up on iCloud drive, it will automatically "sync up".....
    Thanks again,
    Nick

  • Has anyone had OSX Yosemite Keychain for Safari security issue?

I updated my MacBook Air today and when it rebooted I had multiple random Facebook and gmail / yahoo logins stored on my keychain for Safari. Some worked and allowed me to login to what look like fake Facebook profiles. I have no idea where they could have come from...
There were also logins for children websites for "Learning to read". I am baffled where all these random logins have come from???

I'm having the same problem, also since upgrading to Mavericks. Tried contacting Apple, but they weren't helpful. I get the "A problem occurred with this webpage so it was reloaded." message when I'm using Outlook Web App to write emails. I also get:
"There was a problem opening your mailbox. You may have already signed in to Outlook Web App on a different browser tab. If so, close this tab and return to the other tab. If that doesn't work, you can try:
    - Closing you browser window and signing in again.
    - Deleting cookies from you browser and signing in again."
I've had tech support re-image my computer and I'm still getting the same messages. I think it's got to be a compatibility issue between Safari and Mavericks...
