Z77A-GD65 error 55 after running for 5 months just fine

Hi,
My Z77A-GD65 has been running perfectly since last May with a 3770K, G.Skill 8 GB DDR3-2133 Quad-Kit and a Antec EA-550 Platinum PSU.
Now the PC reboots continuously with error 55 showing on the mainboard.
Two weeks ago I installed a new GPU, Geforce 660ti. After some initial hassles, it was working just fine.
Things I have tried:
- Removed the GPU, No go.
- Removed all memory but 1 stick in slots 1&2. Repeated this with a different stick. No go.
Probably something broke, but not the 'bent pins' issues I see reported when people see a 55 error, as my system was running just fine.
Can anybody give a hint what broke and what should be replaced?
Thanks for the help,
J.

Thanks for the hints, but still no go...
Things I did:
- Cleared the CMOS according to the guide, actually several times, but no go.
- I borrowed a spare 650W Be Quiet PSU from a friend, but alas, I still see the 55 error.
Does this then point to a defective mainboard or the CPU? From the documentation I get the impression that 55 means that the CPU can not be started.
Is this correct?
Thanks for the help,
J.

  • Vi locks up after running for days

I have some old code written in LV 7 that I ported over to 2011.  After fixing the legacy issues with DAQ and a save routine I ran it and it worked fine.  Three days ago it was started in order to record TC data and this morning is froze/crashed.  The other code which I did the same to runs for months with no incident.  I checked for files becoming large with nothing out of the ordenary.  Before re-launching LV and the vi I started WinDbg to record a dump file.  Anyone have any ideas or ran into a simular problem.

    Hello teslac,
Did you also update your OS or PC when migrating to LabVIEW 2011? Nothing specific stands out based on your comments, but those changes would also be worth evaluating.  WinDbg is certainly a good idea. Additionally:
    -Are you using LabVIEW 2011 or 2011 SP1? 32- or 64-bit?
-What OS is this?  What bitness?
-Is this running in the LabVIEW development environment or is it compiled into an executable running on the machine?
-Did the application crash and close, or just become unresponsive?
-If the application did crash, a log file should have been generated by the IDE or runtime engine.  If you have that available, I'd recommend posting that here as it may give some insight to the issue.
    Regards,
    Tom L.

  • Z77A GD65 - Error "d7"

    Hello
I have MB MSI Z77A GD65 with Intel 2500K. It worked fine, but I was on vacation for one week and after my return, it dont want to boot. (During vacation, I turned off my PSU and unplugged electric cable from wall.)
After I push power on button, monitor signs no signal and MB stuck with code "d7". After it, I need to push power button for 5sec and it shut off. It will eventually boot up on third - fifth attemp everytime. I tried to unplug everything from board, leaved only PSU, CPU and one ram module, but still same result, it will boot 1 time from 5 attempts (average). Is it clearly for RMA or what should I try?
    Thank You for any suggestions.

  • HELP - ABAP Program Cancelled After Running for 2.5 Hours in Background

I have an ABAP report program that was being tested in our QA system and it died after running for 2.5 hours with the status of "Cancelled" (which, I assume, means it was terminated by SAP for exceeding some type of governor).
I ran Code Analyzer and no performance issues were recognized.

The screen shot the tester sent me only says that it was canceled.  However, the log shows the following:
    09/17/2008 16:54:32 Job Started

I'm not sure it was an error, per se, but maybe SAP canceled it because it had been running too long?  The "DATASET_NOT_OPEN" is curious although I've no idea what it means.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Mail quits after running for a few minutes

Mail quits after running for a couple of minutes, started doing it yesterday. I have looked at the advice given for similar problems, disk utility can find no problem with my drive, I repaired permissions anyway. No change.
Also ran the 'plutil' on the plist which came out as 'OK'.
I don't 'think' it is immediately the result of updating to 10.4.7 as it ran happily for some time after the update.
Is the only solution to trash the plist and redo all my mail accounts?
    20' iMac 2.1 Ghz PowerPC G5   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   1 GB RAM

Mail probably is crashing when new junk mail arrives. Try the following in order to identify the problem:
    1. Either tell Mail to go offline immediately after opening it, or shut down your Internet connection and open Mail afterwards.
    2. Disable junk mail filtering in Mail > Preferences > Junk Mail.
    3. Go online again.
If Mail doesn't crash now, then you know for sure there is something wrong with the junk filter. In that case, the following procedure should fix the problem:
    1. Quit Mail if it's running.
    2. In the Finder, go to ~/Library/Mail/.
    3. Locate LSMMap2 and move it to the Trash -- deleting this file is what clicking the Reset button in Preferences > Junk Mail does. If you see an LSMMap file there, move it to the Trash too.
    4. Locate DefaultCounts and move it to the Trash. This file keeps statistics about the number of messages that have been marked as junk, either automatically by the junk filter or manually by the user.
    5. Locate MessageRules.plist and move it to the Desktop. This is where Mail 2.x stores all rules, including those used by the junk filter. If there is a file called MessageRules.plist.backup, move it to the Desktop too. You may also see MessageSorting.plist files there; this is where Mail 1.x stored the rules, and they are no longer used by Mail 2.x, so just move them to the Trash if you see them.
    6. Look for the account folders. The name of each account folder starts with the account type (POP, IMAP, Mac), followed by the account username and the incoming mail server. Open each of the account folders, locate the Junk.mbox or Junk.imapmbox folder within it, and move it to the Trash if present.
    7. Go to ~/Library/Mail/Mailboxes/. Locate any Junk.mbox folders there (their name may include the account name in parenthesis), and move them to the Trash.
Note: Messages in Junk folders with an .mbox suffix are stored locally, and will be lost forever as a result of doing steps 6 and 7. If there is a chance that you have legit messages there and you want to preserve them, move them to another mailbox in Mail first (you may prevent Mail from crashing by shutting down the Internet connection or telling Mail to go offline immediately after opening it). Messages in Junk folders with an .imapmbox suffix are stored on the server and can be ignored (Mail will rebuild those mailboxes automatically).
    8. Open Mail. As a result of removing the rules file, the junk filter will be disabled now. You may want to either tell Mail to go offline immediately after opening it, or shut down the Internet connection before opening Mail, to prevent it from downloading anything until the junk mail filter has been enabled again.
    9. Go to Mail > Preferences > Junk Mail, enable junk filtering, and configure it however you wish.
    10. Go online again if you went offline in step 8.
If the above solves the problem and you don't have any rules you'd like to preserve or recreating them is not a daunting task, just delete the MessageRules.plist files that were moved to the Desktop and be done with it.
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user's home folder. You can easily locate any of the folders referred to in this post by copying the file path here, doing Go > Go to Folder in the Finder, and pasting the file path there.

    Hi Teodorafrombc,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If your computer is becoming unresponsive, you may want to see if specific applications are causing this behavior. Try using the Force Quit menu to check for unresponsive applications:
Using the Force Quit feature of OS X makes an application close, even when it is not responsive.
Important: Normally you should not need to force quit an app to close it. When an app is forced to quit, any unsaved changes to open documents are not saved, so try these methods to normally close the app first:
Choose Quit from the app menu. For example, in Safari, choose Safari > Quit Safari.
Choose Quit by right-clicking or control-clicking on an app's icon in the Dock
You can find the article with these steps here:
OS X: How to quit an unresponsive application using Force Quit
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3411
If your display is going blank or seems to be going to sleep unexpectedly, try these steps first:
    Reset the system
You can reset the Mac's parameter RAM and SMC.
You can find the article with these steps and more information here:
Apple computers: Troubleshooting issues with video on internal or external displays

  • Firefox 3.6.13 on Mac 10.6 I lose the "mouseover" capability after running for a while. Only a REBOOT of the MAC will restore.

After running for a while (hours ? days?) I lose the ability to "mouseover" data on a website and get info. Specifically on Yahoo's
portal page, I can't mouse over a news item and get a summary.
Restarting Firefox, in safe mode or normal mode, does not restore the function. Rebooting the MAC (unheard of !!) restores. What gives ?

    See if this works.
Type '''about:config''' in the URL bar and hit enter.
    Filter = '''print.print''' <br />
There are 6 prefs for headers / footers. <br />
    '''print.print_header...''' center, left, & right <br />

You can add what you want in the '''''Value''''' column and then Restart Firefox to effect the change. <br />

From the log it seemed that the memory usage jumped by 150M to 250M within 1.5 second, even when the user traffic was very light (a couple of page views a second, vs. 10 page views a second at peak). The same app was running fine for many hours on a Windows dev machine in load testing condition with about 300M heapsize. No memory leakage was found so far. (it would be pretty unlikely to have such a large memory leakage without being noticed in dev and testing)
    Thanks for any help.

A NewSize of 512m seems small for an 8G heap. This would probably cause most objects to be rapidly tenured into the OldGen heap space. (Ultimately depends on your application.) You might consider either using a NewRatio in place of NewSize/MaxNewSize or not use either and instead see how the jvm handles things itself with"-XX:+UseAdaptiveSizePolicy"
VisualVM is a good graphical tool for watching gc activity.
NewRatio=1 is the largest you can go for Eden, which will set (Eden and survivor spaces) equal to oldGen space. ie, for 8G, 4g each.
Watch activity in the gc tool, you will see "sawtooth" activity. If your sawtooth pattern does not maintain a flat profile, then you have in fact have a memory leak.

  • ABAP Program gives error after running  successfully for few days / months

I have a problem that sometimes my programs start giving errors or does not run at all after successfully running for few days / months.
But, when I copy the same program with a different name (without any changes ) it starts running again.
Yesterday I had another problem. I was sending a request to be transported to Production Client, and the request was not getting transported. But when I changed just the name of the program, It was transported to Production Client.
I can't understand where the problem lies and what happens to the programs after running successfully for few days. All I have to do is just copy that programm into another name and it starts running.
    Can anyone help me?
    Regards,
    SK Daniel

about the transport thing..i had the same problem few months back the reason was,  i included a table which is having different package  from my program..so wot im thinking is when you creating a different program u might be assigning different package to this new program  and this package is same as all the tables included in your program...

  • Z77A-GD65 Error 55 constant boot loop

I'm very confident the Board itself is dead. I tried all the usual suspects one stick of ram, CMOS reset etc. etc. finally resorting to replacing the motherboard with an old Z68A GD65 which booted faultlessly first time. Just confused why the board would suddenly report an error like this after running faultlessly and with no changes to the bios or the PC itself since I bought the unit it was flashed some months ago to the latest bios version with no problems. I need to check if I can RMA the board but is it really worth the time?

Well, if board doesn't work while another board works with all the other components it is pretty surely faulty. Of course you can then go for rma.
In Europe that takes contacting reseller.

  • Z77A-GD65 Error 55

    Hello!
I am new to this forum since I haven't had an MSI mainboard before.
So I bought this pc this xmas and it has been working fine, since today...
I was using it as normal and was gonna try the Super Charger program to charge my iPad. Activated it and powered off my pc. Tried to see if it would charge my iPhone while it was powered off and then I turned the pc back on again. This time it started for a short moment and then shut down again as if I made some change to the bios settings. And after that it was stuck in an infinite loop of rebooting.
I was looking at the debugging console and noticed the Error 55.
Tried with only 1 ram installed in every slot also two at a time in 1-3  and 1-4 slots.
But no luck. The pc won't boot and I don't get a POST screen.
Also tried without any ram installed at all, then I get another error, 20 or 22 something.
Tried resetting CMOS and using the secondary bios thing on my motherboard, but nothing works.
    Is the mainboard broken?
    Really appreciate some help!
    Thank you!

No bent pins on the cpu. Tried all the mem's individually in dimm2 but no go :/
So could the conclusion be a faulty mainboard?
Called the computer store I bought it from today and explained it to them, so they want me to send the whole computer so they can see what the problem might be :<
Did you check the cpu or Socket? You would want to check the pins in the socket with a bright light and magnfying glass.

I tried and I get an error A0 or A2 but nothing on the screen (my screen turns off after a while because no signal)
Even when using the onboard graphics?

  • Z77a-gd65-having issues running 2 gtx 560 sc in sli--any help out there???

I just built this unit last night and I have a issue that is beyond me....Normally I just throw them together and throw to cards in download all the drivers and turn on sli.......
But with this one the driver keeps crashing and I have no idea what it is--everything is brand new....

    OS Version:   6_1_7601
    Service Pack:   1_0
    Product:   256_1
It only does this in sli......Right now I have only one card in and i took the other card out...so far no issues......I just can not figure it out..
I tried a new sli brindge and that did not work....Than I switched power supply to 850 from a 750 and that did not work....each 6 pin has it own power rail..nothing brindged on the cable.....Is there a setting In bios I am missing............
Help me out guys....I am at a loss..I really want to run 2 cards.....will be testing the single card for a few more hours and that I will swap it out with the other.....But am I missing something.....Voltage on each card is kind of weird I guess..1.00 volts to .850........

I know this is besides the point...But you learn something new everyday.....so far no crash....Only difference---I have 2 sticks of ram and not 4....I really would like to know more about this. as of right now. I want to just leave the 2 sticks and make 100% sure the cards are not the issue. You would figure with this set up...I should not have any issues like that what so ever......so why would the i7 3770k have issue like this? Is it know to have problems like that? I even spent the extra cash on this build....now I am second guessing my choice. should have stuck with the z77a-gd55 or lower.    So you think the cpu was having issue with the IMC and bandwidth...Talk about weird....I will keep testing like it is right now and than tmr-try uping the voltage & I/O.....I need to make 100% sure its not my cards...
    I think you mis-understood (as i wasn't clear)
Set the voltage to 1.65 & 1.1 and install all 4 sticks and re-test.
I wasn't saying the cpu was broken or anything like that. What I was getting at was that the Integrated Memory Controller on dual channel machines sometime have a bit of trouble with all of the band width when hooked up to quad channel. Can also be cause by the memory itself as Froggy was saying:

Test the other two sticks individually in the primary DIMM slot to see if one or both are faulty.
Virtu-MVP was an exciting idea that hasn't really worked as well as it should due to a lack of support from LUCID. I disabled mine long ago due to nusiance issues.

Right now---since I have taken out the 2 extra sticks of Ram.....I have not had a single crash..."2 hours".I even turn up the stick to the suggested 1600...Running great...I am a firm believer if it an't broke.....Leave it alone>>>>>>>>>>LOL!!!!!I like the way it is running....
If this is the case, you can reset the dramv and I/o voltage to "Auto".
Perhaps even enable the XMP profile of the ram.

    Hi Guys,
    Thanks for the reply.
Copied the ojdbc6.jar in WLS_HOME/server/lib, OIM_HOME/server/lib,DOMAIN_HOME/lib, restarted the server but still no luck:
