Zend reCaptcha issue

Hi,
I am working out of chpt. 8 in David Power's new book Dreamweaver CS5 with PHP.
I am getting an error with the reCaptcha script WHEN THE PAGE LOADS:
Before adding the custom error message, I was getting "Missing response field" as an exception (again, as the page loaded - no form button clicked). From what I can tell, my code in 'process_comments.php' is identical to the book's:
I'm hoping perhaps Mr. Power's can help me decipher why this is happening.

Geez, nevermind! I had the code above the check for the "send".
I wish there was a way to delete our own posts in these forums. Moderator?!?

  • Zend AMF issue

    I've got an application that uses Zend Framework to make PHP calls to access a db.  Everything works fine on my development server.  After a few issues, I made the necessary changes to amf_config.ini for the production server.  I checked that the endpoint is fine by just loading the gateway.php directly. Works fine there, and the application is functional, but I have a bizarre performance issue.
    Loading up the gateway.php on its own, or performing any remote call takes an extremely long time - nearly a minute.  This happens when just loading the gateway.php file so it seems a ZendAMF thing, not Flex itself.  I've also removed all php files (except Zend Framework and the gateway.php), and it's still slow, so it's not not from the addDirectory part of the gateway.php.  Any ideas what might be causing this extreme slowdown?  I've temporarily gone to getting rid of Zend and just using PHP and XML, but this is not ideal.

  • Problem with Zend reCAPTCHA with DW CS5 Ch 8 D Powers PHP book

    Hi,
    I am following David Powers' book and I am up to Chapter 8, trying to use the reCaptcha utility on a form.
    When I click submit I get the following error, which is handled:
    "Unable to Connect to tcp://api-verify.recaptcha.net:80. Error #12: Cannot allocate memory"
    I have tried to use the google recaptchalib.php, but this dies at @fsockopen($host, $port, $errno, $errstr, 10) in function _recaptcha_http_post.
    This happens in Live View and when using Safari.
    Please can anyone give me some direction. I'm on Macbook Pro, Adobe CS5, MAMP Pro using Port 80, etc.
    Thanks, Mike

    The problem was NOrton / Symantec firewall.
    Sorry all
    Mike

  • Zend Framework gives strange Oracle query

    I'm trying to migrate an application from MySQL to Oracle. I'm a newbie to Oracle.
    I want the PHP scripts to work on both MySQL and Oracle.
    The query I want to do used to be (for MySQL via AdoDB):
    SELECT DISTINCT (id)
    FROM table1
    INNER JOIN table2 ON table1.id = table2.record_id
    AND table2.user_id = "XXX"
    AND table1.status = table2.status_id
    The following code works great for MySQL but generates some strange output for Oracle:
    $db = Zend_Db::factory('Oracle', //Mysqli for the MySQL db connection
    array(
    'host' => 'hostName',
    'dbname' => 'dbName',
    'username'=> 'userName',
    'password'=> 'userPasswd')
    $select = $db->select();
    $select->distinct();
    $select->from(array('i' => 'table1'),array('id'));
    $select->joinInner(array('u' => 'table2'),'i.id = u.record_id',array());
    $select->where('u.user_id = ?', 'XXX');
    $select->where('i.status=u.status_id');
    This results in
    for MySQL:
    SELECT DISTINCT `i`.`id` FROM `table1` AS `i` INNER JOIN `table2` AS `u` ON i.id = u.record_id WHERE (u.user_id = 'XXX') AND (i.status=u.status_id)
    this works fine.
    for Oracle:
    SELECT DISTINCT "i"."id" FROM "table1" "i" INNER JOIN *"table2" "u" ON i.id = u.record_id WHERE (u.user_id = 'XXX') AND (i.status=u.status_id)
    this does not work:
    ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
    when I copy/paste this in SQL developer this gives an error too, complaining about ' *"table2" ' which does not exist.
    The only query my SQL developer accepts is :
    SELECT DISTINCT i."id" FROM table1 i INNER JOIN table2 u ON i."id" = u."record_id" WHERE (u."user_id" = 'XXX') AND (i."status"=u."status_id")
    I have no idea how I can make this query with Zend Framework.
    The query should have:
    - no quotes around the table names
    - quotes around the column names
    - no * before the second table name (table2)
    Is this a Zend Framework problem or is my Oracle db not very well made?

    I believe there are some issues with ZF regarding quoting, e.g. see http://framework.zend.com/issues/browse/ZF-7267 (also note the comment about autoQuoteIdentifier).
    I'd review open ZF bugs, upgrade to the latest ZF and report the issue if it still occurs.
    At worst case, you may need a branch in your code that manually constructs the query when running against Oracle.

  • Getting "Method 'sign_in' does not exist" Error (using Charles)

    This may be a bit off the FLEX field, and have to do with Zend Framework's ZEND_AMF class. Unfortunately I haven't been able to dig anything up, and comments posted on Wade Arnolds site have not received any responses, so I thought I'd give it a go here.

    Now, all this is great and good, as it works with Zend Framework 1.7.6. However, when I try to upgrade to 1.7.8 (to take advantage of session management and other bug-fixes), I get the following error (using Charles):
    #1 /var/web/htdocs/core/library/Zend/Amf/Server.php(390): Zend_Amf_Server->_handle(Object(Zend_Amf_Request_Http))

    #7 /var/web/htdocs/core/public/index.php(5): Bootstrap->runApp()
    #8 {main} ?Method "sign_in" does not exist
    I have no idea why this would not work anymore. My assumption is that I am not correctly setting up Zend_Amf (but then again, my counter-argument is that it worked before, so ..... ????)
    Thanks for any help!
    -Mike

    For those that are also fighting this issue:
    The problem appears to be that the RemoteObject needs to specify the class containing the methods as a source parameter. According to this bug report (http://framework.zend.com/issues/browse/ZF-5168) it is supposed to have been addressed, but apparently has re-emerged in Zend_Amf since version 1.7.7.
    Using my example above, I would have to specify the RO as:
    <mx:RemoteObject
              id="LoginRemote"
              destination="login"
              source="LoginAmfService"
              showBusyCursor="true"
              fault="parentDocument.handleFault(event)"
         >
               <mx:method name="sign_in" result="signin_handle(event)" />
               <mx:method name="sign_out" result="signout_handle(event)" />
         </mx:RemoteObjecct>

    is there such a release planned during the beta period?

    Hi Chris,
    thanks for your answer.
    The steps above didn't helped resolving the issue but I'm pretty sure it's a Zend-related issue regarding the dropins folder.
    I'm going to switch into the following thread for further analysis and discussion as someone else now has the same issue and it doesn't make sense having two threads open

  • Recaptcha and Muse form issue

    I am trying to add Google recaptcha to a contact form in Muse and have added my keys, but I keep getting "The server encountered an error" upon form submission every time.
    Is there more I need to do than simply add the keys?
    - I added my domain to Google recaptcha; which shows me a site key and secret key
    - I added site key to public field in recaptcha form and secret key to private key in recaptcha form in Muse form widget
    - I uploaded my exported html to my web server and tested
    - I receive this error upon submission - "The server encountered an error"

    What am I doing wrong??
    I am a CC subscriber and have all updates...,
    Thank you!!

  • Issue with recaptcha in email

    After reworking my muse website, the recaptcha feature on my contact page doesn't show the image verification window (CONTACT).  If I run a preview it looks fine but when I upload and run it on my website, there is no verification window.  Does anybody have some tips that they might offer to resolve that?

    Hello,
    Please delete the recaptcha inserted in the form, re-insert it.
    Also make sure you put the Correct public and privet keys.
    Re-upload the site and you should be all set.

  • Httpd fail to start after Zend Core installation

    Hi!
    I need Zend, so I installed it using this instruction.
    The problem is that httpd daemon faild to start after that.
    Here is my /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf:
    # This is the main Apache HTTP server configuration file. It contains the
    # configuration directives that give the server its instructions.
    # See <URL:http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2> for detailed information.
    # In particular, see
    # <URL:http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/mod/directives.html>
    # for a discussion of each configuration directive.
    # Do NOT simply read the instructions in here without understanding
    # what they do. They're here only as hints or reminders. If you are unsure
    # consult the online docs. You have been warned.
    # Configuration and logfile names: If the filenames you specify for many
    # of the server's control files begin with "/" (or "drive:/" for Win32), the
    # server will use that explicit path. If the filenames do *not* begin
    # with "/", the value of ServerRoot is prepended -- so "/var/log/httpd/foo_log"
    # with ServerRoot set to "/etc/httpd" will be interpreted by the
    # server as "/etc/httpd//var/log/httpd/foo_log".
    # ServerRoot: The top of the directory tree under which the server's
    # configuration, error, and log files are kept.
    # Do not add a slash at the end of the directory path. If you point
    # ServerRoot at a non-local disk, be sure to point the LockFile directive

    Here is my /etc/php.ini:
    [PHP]
    ; About php.ini ;
    ; This file controls many aspects of PHP's behavior. In order for PHP to
    ; read it, it must be named 'php.ini'. PHP looks for it in the current
    ; working directory, in the path designated by the environment variable
    ; PHPRC, and in the path that was defined in compile time (in that order).
    ; Under Windows, the compile-time path is the Windows directory. The
    ; path in which the php.ini file is looked for can be overridden using
    ; the -c argument in command line mode.
    ; The syntax of the file is extremely simple. Whitespace and Lines
    ; beginning with a semicolon are silently ignored (as you probably guessed).
    ; Section headers (e.g. [Foo]) are also silently ignored, even though
    ; they might mean something in the future.
    ; Directives are specified using the following syntax:
    ; directive = value
    ; Directive names are *case sensitive* - foo=bar is different from FOO=bar.
    ; The value can be a string, a number, a PHP constant (e.g. E_ALL or M_PI), one
    ; of the INI constants (On, Off, True, False, Yes, No and None) or an expression
    ; (e.g. E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE), or a quoted string ("foo").
    ; Expressions in the INI file are limited to bitwise operators and parentheses:
    ; | bitwise OR
    ; & bitwise AND
    ; ~ bitwise NOT
    ; ! boolean NOT
    ; Boolean flags can be turned on using the values 1, On, True or Yes.
    ; They can be turned off using the values 0, Off, False or No.
    ; An empty string can be denoted by simply not writing anything after the equal
    ; sign, or by using the None keyword:
    ; foo = ; sets foo to an empty string
    ; foo = none ; sets foo to an empty string
    ; foo = "none" ; sets foo to the string 'none'
    ; If you use constants in your value, and these constants belong to a
    ; dynamically loaded extension (either a PHP extension or a Zend extension),
    ; you may only use these constants *after* the line that loads the extension.
    ; About this file ;
    ; This is the recommended, PHP 5-style version of the php.ini-dist file. It
    ; sets some non standard settings, that make PHP more efficient, more secure,
    ; and encourage cleaner coding.
    ; The price is that with these settings, PHP may be incompatible with some
    ; applications, and sometimes, more difficult to develop with. Using this
    ; file is warmly recommended for production sites. As all of the changes from
    ; the standard settings are thoroughly documented, you can go over each one,
    ; and decide whether you want to use it or not.
    ; For general information about the php.ini file, please consult the php.ini-dist
    ; file, included in your PHP distribution.
    ; This file is different from the php.ini-dist file in the fact that it features
    ; different values for several directives, in order to improve performance, while
    ; possibly breaking compatibility with the standard out-of-the-box behavior of
    ; PHP. Please make sure you read what's different, and modify your scripts
    ; accordingly, if you decide to use this file instead.
    ; - register_globals = Off [Security, Performance]
    ; Global variables are no longer registered for input data (POST, GET, cookies,
    ; environment and other server variables). Instead of using $foo, you must use
    ; you can use $_REQUEST["foo"] (includes any variable that arrives through the
    ; request, namely, POST, GET and cookie variables), or use one of the specific
    ; $_GET["foo"], $_POST["foo"], $_COOKIE["foo"] or $_FILES["foo"], depending
    ; on where the input originates. Also, you can look at the
    ; import_request_variables() function.
    ; Note that register_globals is going to be depracated (i.e., turned off by
    ; default) in the next version of PHP, because it often leads to security bugs.
    ; Read http://php.net/manual/en/security.registerglobals.php for further
    ; information.
    ; - register_long_arrays = Off [Performance]
    ; Disables registration of the older (and deprecated) long predefined array
    ; variables ($HTTP_*_VARS). Instead, use the superglobals that were
    ; introduced in PHP 4.1.0
    ; - display_errors = Off [Security]
    ; With this directive set to off, errors that occur during the execution of
    ; scripts will no longer be displayed as a part of the script output, and thus,
    ; will no longer be exposed to remote users. With some errors, the error message
    ; content may expose information about your script, web server, or database
    ; server that may be exploitable for hacking. Production sites should have this
    ; directive set to off.
    ; - log_errors = On [Security]
    ; This directive complements the above one. Any errors that occur during the
    ; execution of your script will be logged (typically, to your server's error log,
    ; but can be configured in several ways). Along with setting display_errors to off,
    ; this setup gives you the ability to fully understand what may have gone wrong,
    ; without exposing any sensitive information to remote users.
    ; - output_buffering = 4096 [Performance]
    ; Set a 4KB output buffer. Enabling output buffering typically results in less
    ; writes, and sometimes less packets sent on the wire, which can often lead to
    ; better performance. The gain this directive actually yields greatly depends
    ; on which Web server you're working with, and what kind of scripts you're using.
    ; - register_argc_argv = Off [Performance]
    ; Disables registration of the somewhat redundant $argv and $argc global
    ; variables.
    ; - magic_quotes_gpc = Off [Performance]
    ; Input data is no longer escaped with slashes so that it can be sent into
    ; SQL databases without further manipulation. Instead, you should use the
    ; function addslashes() on each input element you wish to send to a database.
    ; - variables_order = "GPCS" [Performance]
    ; The environment variables are not hashed into the $_ENV. To access
    ; environment variables, you can use getenv() instead.
    ; - error_reporting = E_ALL [Code Cleanliness, Security(?)]
    ; By default, PHP surpresses errors of type E_NOTICE. These error messages
    ; are emitted for non-critical errors, but that could be a symptom of a bigger
    ; problem. Most notably, this will cause error messages about the use
    ; of uninitialized variables to be displayed.
    ; - allow_call_time_pass_reference = Off [Code cleanliness]
    ; It's not possible to decide to force a variable to be passed by reference
    ; when calling a function. The PHP 4 style to do this is by making the
    ; function require the relevant argument by reference.
    ; Language Options ;
    ; Enable the PHP scripting language engine under Apache.

    ; NOTE: Using short tags should be avoided when developing applications or
    ; libraries that are meant for redistribution, or deployment on PHP
    ; servers which are not under your control, because short tags may not
    ; be supported on the target server. For portable, redistributable code,

    ; Output buffering allows you to send header lines (including cookies) even
    ; after you send body content, at the price of slowing PHP's output layer a
    ; bit. You can enable output buffering during runtime by calling the output
    ; buffering functions. You can also enable output buffering for all files by
    ; setting this directive to On. If you wish to limit the size of the buffer
    ; to a certain size - you can use a maximum number of bytes instead of 'On', as
    ; a value for this directive (e.g., output_buffering=4096).
    output_buffering = 4096
    ; You can redirect all of the output of your scripts to a function. For
    ; example, if you set output_handler to "mb_output_handler", character
    ; encoding will be transparently converted to the specified encoding.
    ; Setting any output handler automatically turns on output buffering.
    ; Note: People who wrote portable scripts should not depend on this ini
    ; directive. Instead, explicitly set the output handler using ob_start().
    ; Using this ini directive may cause problems unless you know what script
    ; is doing.
    ; Note: You cannot use both "mb_output_handler" with "ob_iconv_handler"
    ; and you cannot use both "ob_gzhandler" and "zlib.output_compression".
    ; Note: output_handler must be empty if this is set 'On' !!!!
    ; Instead you must use zlib.output_handler.
    ;output_handler =
    ; Transparent output compression using the zlib library
    ; Valid values for this option are 'off', 'on', or a specific buffer size
    ; to be used for compression (default is 4KB)
    ; Note: Resulting chunk size may vary due to nature of compression. PHP
    ; outputs chunks that are few hundreds bytes each as a result of
    ; compression. If you prefer a larger chunk size for better
    ; performance, enable output_buffering in addition.
    ; Note: You need to use zlib.output_handler instead of the standard
    ; output_handler, or otherwise the output will be corrupted.
    zlib.output_compression = Off
    ; You cannot specify additional output handlers if zlib.output_compression
    ; is activated here. This setting does the same as output_handler but in
    ; a different order.
    ;zlib.output_handler =
    ; Implicit flush tells PHP to tell the output layer to flush itself

    Maybe the script isnt compatible with non-html documents...
    Can someone please tell me whats the problem and if there is a solution????
    How do i change this button?
    I used this in my previous site:
    <table class="Button"  >
         <tr>
         <td style="padding-right:0px" title ="Home">
         <a href="#" title="Home" style="background-image:url(/Buttons/Home.png);width:172px;height:75px;display:block;"><br/>
         </a></td>
         </tr>
    </table>
    But the dynamic script uses {title} to get the <title> out of the xml.
    I tryd to put this straight into the title tags in the xml but obviously it wont work.
    And i really dont have a clue how to change this.
    My button has a mouseover img. Basicly its 2 buttons in 1 img stacked on top of each other.
    Like this: http://www.wientjesvoegwerk.nl/Buttons/contact.png
    Because of the CSS script it hovers to the right position.
    Part of SOURCE CSS (Style.css)
    .Button a{display:block;}
    .Button a:hover{background-position:left bottom;}
    a.Button {display:none}
    How can i change the xml and the script so "title" can be replaced with the button.
    Or how can i change the button so the mouseover works and the script still takes the button-img from the xml???
    Any help would be nice, because im finnaly in a postition to finish this site, and this is the only blockade left to conquer...

    Maybe it is not liking that the index page is an HTML page and not a PHP page. Try this way:
    In your form.php, remove the following code:
    <?php
    require_once('recaptchalib.php');
    $publickey = "6LfKNwwAAAAAAEdS6PjiDSHRQBDOYrGcM8R1eQQm"; // you got this from the signup page
    echo recaptcha_get_html($publickey);
    ?>
    Replace it with:
    <script type="text/javascript" src="http://api.recaptcha.net/challenge?k=6LfKNwwAAAAAAEdS6PjiDSHRQBDOYrGcM8R1eQQm"></script>
        <noscript>
              <iframe src="http://api.recaptcha.net/noscript?k=6LfKNwwAAAAAAEdS6PjiDSHRQBDOYrGcM8R1eQQm" height="300" width="500" frameborder="0"></iframe><br/>
              <textarea name="recaptcha_challenge_field" rows="3" cols="40"></textarea>
              <input type="hidden" name="recaptcha_response_field" value="manual_challenge"/>
        </noscript>
    The replacement code is the same code that is outputted from the recaptchalib.php file.

  • Can't open Zend Project files using Zend Studio

    Hi there,
    I've been in contact with Zend about this issue but they assure me that they don't have this problem with their Mac's and no other Mac user has reported this fault.
    So here I am asking in the only other logical place I can think of.
    Basically I want to double click on a Zend Project File (.zpf) and have it open in Zend Studio.
    The first time I tried setting the desired application to ZDE.app it came up with an unknown error I think it was -10814? And each subsequent time I try to open the project file I get Zend Studio telling me it is an unrecognized file type.
    If you could give me any suggestions or leads to follow I would greatly appreciate it.
    Thank you for your time,
    Ant

    HI webchalk and Welcome to Apple Discussions ...
    Ok, when you say you tried setting the desired application to ZDE.app ... have you tried this?
    To open a document with a specific application:
    In the Finder, select the document and choose File > Get Info.
    In the Info window, click to show the "Open with" pane.
    Choose the application you want to use from the pop-up menu.
    If you want all documents that have the same file type as this one to open with the same application, click Change All.

  • Zend AMF Data Service Return Problem

    Hi Folks,
    I am working with FB4 and Zend AMF/PHP and MySQL.  I began integrating the PHP stuff using the great article by Mihai Corlan called 'Working in Flash Builder 4 with Flex and PHP.  I followed all the steps exactly, aside from creating my own app-specific PHP classes and functions, etc...  I 'hooked up' the Zend stuff just like the article, created a text datagrid, just like the article, and viola!, it worked.  I then tweaked it a bit and interwove it into my 'real' component.  So far, so good.
    Then I created a second PHP class with a different 'get data' type of function.  It queries a different table in MySQL, but is essentially the 'same' as the query/function in the initial PHP class.
    In FB, in the Data Services window, I choose the 'Connect to Data/Services' function, just like the first time.  I then find/select my PHP class file and FB 'interrogates it' enough to show me the function that exists in the class.  I 'finish' the operation and it adds a new 'service' to the list of services in that window.  Again, so far, so good.
    The problem comes when I try to 'test' the service or 'configure return types' (which basically requires a 'test' operation anyway).  I can enter the 'input' params just fine, but when I try to execute the call, I get the following error:
    InvocationTargetException:There was an error while invoking the operation. Check your operation inputs or server code and try invoking the operation again.
    Reason: An error occured while reading response sent by server. Try encoding the response suitably before sending it. e.g. If a database column contains UTF-8 characters then use utf8_encode() to encode its value before returning it from the operation.
    I don't know where to go after this.  Again - the 2nd PHP class is essentially identical to the 1st.  The function in it is essentially identical, differing only by the input params, the name of the function and the actual SQL it sends to MySQL.  There is no special text, no special characters, no image stuff, nothing.  I do not 'encode' the results of the function in the first class - in fact the code in the second class is practically identical to the first.  I do not know what the error is talking about.  My guess is that it's more of a generic message.
    I can debug the PHP code just fine from within a seperate instance of Eclipse.  The function runs/returns just fine - an array of PHP-defined objects (simple strings).
    Any insights or advice would be welcomed.   Thank you,
    -David Baron

    Thank Jorge, but that was not the issue, though, it may be related.
    I checked the mySQL my.ini file, and there was already an entry for:
    [mysql]
    default-character-set=utf8
    I added the 'default-collation=utf8_unicode_ci', like you suggested, but that didn't do anything.
    I checked the Apache httpd.conf file, and added the following line 'under' the "DefaultType text/plain" line:
    AddDefaultCharset UTF-8    but that did not do anything.
    I checked my mySQL database, all the tables involved.  They were already at UTF-8 (default).  However, some of the 'varchar' columns were defined as 'latin 1-default collation'.   I changed them all to utf-8 (default table collation), but that did not help either.
    Finally, I found the problem, though I don't really know if it is "my" problem, or ZendAMF's problem, or Adobe's problem.
    It turned out that 'some' of my data had a 'bad' character in it.  Specifically, I had 'copied and pasted' some data from MS Word into mySQL Workbench.  Some of the data included the 'elipsis' character - you know, when you type "..." (dot dot dot) in MS Word, it replaces the three periods with a single elipsis character.  Although PHP could easily query and assemble this data into a nice object array, I noticed that that character showed up (in PHP's debugger) as a 'box' character, meaning "bad character".  Thus, I guess, Zend AMF and/or FlashBuilder could not 'bring over' and/or deal with this type of character.  As soon as I replace the few instances of that character with three periods, everything began to work perfectly.
    So... what to do about this?  I thought I was through with silly encoding/decoding of data when I left JavaScript and HTML behind in moving to FlashBuilder technology.  Am I really going to have to worry about this kind of thing?  Or might this be a bug/deficiency somewhere in the stack?
    Thanks for your help,
    -David

  • Recaptcha not working blank associated values

    I have two issues it seems and any help would be appreciated.
    on the page www.socalda.org/meetfrm.php I built a form in Dreamweaver to add meeting changes and then the information is sent to me and one other person in charge of the material.   The forms works but:
    We started getting emails with blank associated values and I put recpatcha in.  I started getting the same type of emails again and found out the recaptcha element is not doing anything.
    You can hit the submit button without putting in anything on the form or in the recaptcha  box and it sends a blank email with no associated values.
    I think I have a problem with form action.
    Here is the code for the meetfrm.php page:

    Hi,
    Normally I'd recommend breaking this formula down into three parts and see if  you get the results you expect.  If you do then add each part back in and test the result.
    Instead of checking for NULL, check for an empty string.  I changed your formula to do this.  It's possible the data isn't a null.
    if {?AssignedTo} &lt;&gt; "" then
        {BI_RESOURCE_REF.BI_RESOURCE_NM} = {?AssignedTo}
    Else if ({?AssignedTo} = "") and ({?r_AllAssigned} = False) then
        {BI_RESOURCE_REF.BI_RESOURCE_NM} &lt;&gt; ""
    Else if ({?AssignedTo} = "") and {?r_AllAssigned} = True) then
    {BI_RESOURCE_REF.BI_RESOURCE_NM} &lt;&gt; "";
    Good luck,
    Brian

  • Flex and Zend amf deployment resolved with proper solution

    Hi All,
    Although, I personally do not like using Zend for these issues itself. However, I faced this issue first time with flex 4.0 version when everyone used to run into
    channel disconnected error. you can find the link for that post here:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/3366991.
    Now, with flash builder 4.6, things have changed slightly and so the deployment process. So, here are the right set of steps to be followed :
    1. after developing your flash project, export the release build(I assume if you are a flex user, you should know these steps already)
    2. Now, check your release folder, you must have got some files with amfconfig.ini and gateway.php and just one folder named history.
    3. copy all these files into a new folder say "My Release Build".
    4. Now, step 1 is get Zend framework in place, to achieve that:
    there are different ways. some will say : "make sure zend must already installed on your production server." that is an alternative but most likely,  the easier way to do this is : search your www(root folder on localhost),you will find a folder with name ZendFramework. Copy this folder to "My Release Build"
    5. Now, the services that you have used in your flex project, go to debug folder of your project which should be in your www(root folder on localhost) with name "yourprojectname-debug". copy services folder from this debug folder to "My Release Build"
    6. Now, open your amfconfig.ini from "My Release Build" and edit and make it look like following:
    [zend]
    webroot = http://www.yourwebsite.com
    ;you can edit above webroot to match the root folder of your website or use . to make it point to root.
    zend_path = ./ZendFramework/library
    [zendamf]
    amf.production = true
    amf.directories[]= services
    thats it. your amf config is fine.
    7. edit gateway.php:
    Now, remove everything from gateway.php and copy this as it is there:
    <?php
    ini_set("display_errors", 1);
    $dir = '.';
    $webroot = $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'];
    $configfile = "amf_config.ini";
    //default zend install directory
    $zenddir = $webroot. '/ZendFramework/library';
    //Load ini file and locate zend directory
    if(file_exists($configfile)) {
        $arr=parse_ini_file($configfile,true);
        if(isset($arr['zend']['webroot'])){
            $webroot = $arr['zend']['webroot'];
            $zenddir = $webroot. '/ZendFramework/library';
        if(isset($arr['zend']['zend_path'])){
            $zenddir = $arr['zend']['zend_path'];
    // Setup include path
        //add zend directory to include path
    set_include_path(get_include_path().PATH_SEPARATOR.$zenddir);
    // Initialize Zend Framework loader
    require_once 'Zend/Loader/Autoloader.php';
    Zend_Loader_Autoloader::getInstance();
    // Load configuration
    $default_config = new Zend_Config(array("production" => false), true);
    $default_config->merge(new Zend_Config_Ini($configfile, 'zendamf'));
    $default_config->setReadOnly();
    $amf = $default_config->amf;
    // Store configuration in the registry
    Zend_Registry::set("amf-config", $amf);
    // Initialize AMF Server
    $server = new Zend_Amf_Server();
    $server->setProduction($amf->production);
    if(isset($amf->directories)) {
        $dirs = $amf->directories->toArray();
        foreach($dirs as $dir) {
            // get the first character of the path.
            // If it does not start with slash then it implies that the path is relative to webroot. Else it will be treated as absolute path
            $length = strlen($dir);
            $firstChar = $dir;
            if($length >= 1)
                $firstChar = $dir[0];
            if($firstChar != "/"){
                // if the directory is ./ path then we add the webroot only.
                if($dir == "./"){
                    $server->addDirectory($webroot);
                }else{
                    $tempPath = $webroot . "/" . $dir;
                    $server->addDirectory($tempPath);
            }else{
                   $server->addDirectory($dir);
    // Initialize introspector for non-production
    if(!$amf->production) {
        $server->setClass('Zend_Amf_Adobe_Introspector', '', array("config" => $default_config, "server" => $server));
        $server->setClass('Zend_Amf_Adobe_DbInspector', '', array("config" => $default_config, "server" => $server));
    // Handle request
    echo $server->handle();
    Now, upload your "My Release Build folder to your production server webroot"
    case 1: if you get "channel disconnected error, you have made some mistake and your path for zend or services folder is not right."
    In above case, "ZendFramework folder and services folder with all of other release files". To find out what is wrong, open this url :
    http://www.yourwebsite.com/gateway.php. if you see this lovely string there : "Zend Amf Endpoint". consider your are through with zend settings on server
    otherwse you will see relative errors.
    2. After fixing this step, try run your website, you will land into this error :
    Class “yourcorrectclassname” does not exist: Plugin by name ‘Classname’ was not found in the registry; used paths:
    : /home1/messoftc/public_html/oc/services/
    #0 /home1/messoftc/public_html/ZendFramework/library/Zend/Amf/Server.php(553): Zend_Amf_Server->_dispatch(‘fxnname’, Array, ‘classname’)
    #1 /home1/messoftc/public_html/ZendFramework/library/Zend/Amf/Server.php(629): Zend_Amf_Server->_handle(Object(Zend_Amf_Request_Http))
    #2 /home1/messoftc/public_html/oc/gateway.php(69): Zend_Amf_Server->handle()
    #3 {main}
    Now, this is a zend framework bug, it does not automatically detect the php classes in your services folder,those who have run into this, must have googled hard to find the solution and this bug is also logged officially on zend server jira log.
    so, what is the solution? simple and effective. open your gateway.php file from "My Release Build"
    Add this little line :
    $server->addDirectory(dirname(__FILE__) . '/services/');
    after this line :
    $server->setProduction($amf->production);
    reupload this file to your production, you should see your Flex, Zend, php & Mysql in action.
    Here is a sample link I have created :
    http://www.eiws.co.in/testzend.html
    you may also visit the endpoint file:
    http://eiws.co.in/gateway.php
    If anyone still faces this issue, can contact me at [email protected].

    Richard Bates of flexandair.com figured it out. In my php.ini file, I had the memory limit set at 8M. After, changing it to 32M, it worked. Thank you, Richard!

  • Path Mapping popup issue

    If anyone else has an issue with the "Path Mapping" popup appearing when debugging a Flex and PHP application on your local Zend Server, here is the solution.
    When you first install Flash Builder 4.5 for PHP, it will remind you to download and install Zend Server CE.
    Once you have done that, the next time you start Flash Builder, you get this.
    Unfortunately, Flash Builder for PHP did not configure Path Mapping for Zend Server CE correctly.  When I create a combined Flex and PHP project, and go to debug it, I got this:
    The popup appears like 100 times for various php classes in the framework. I would select the bottom option of "Get content from the server for the following path:"  I would have to go through 5 minutes of clicking these popups before finally getting my application to launch.
    The problem turned out to be the Path Mapping.  If you go to Preferences --> PHP --> PHP Servers, you will see that the Local Zend Server has been added as the default.  Select it and click the Edit button. Then select the Path Mapping tab.
    The entry for Zend Framework will point to a wrong server path.
    The "Path on Server" is set to /usr/local/zend/ZendServer/share/ZendFramework/library
    It should be set to /usr/local/zend/share/ZendFramework/library
    Once I changed it, the popups no longer appeared.

    Jamie
    I just managed to install and setup Builder 4.5 for PHP with Zend Debugger.
    It was quite a headache to enable Zend Debugger on WAMP server. I have been forced to downgrade PHP to ver 5.2.11 (and subsequently to downgrade Apache version to 2.0.63) to make it work. Anyways, not a good start but I thought, ok, finally some progress. At the moment I am faced with same issue as reported in that post however I am not sure how to setup path mapping(s) so I wont be presented with 30-50 popups when trying to debug my PHP classes.
    I tried to check the status of reported bug you have mentioned but link seems to be broken.
    Example of first popup I am presented with:
    Path Mapping - Select Local Resource
    Select the local resource that matches the following server path:
    ...Adobe Flash Builder 4.5\.metadata\.plugins\org.zend.php.framework.resource\resources\ZendFramework-1\library\ Zend\Loader.php
    Get content from the server to the following path:
    C:\Users\Michael\Adobe Flash Builder 4.5\.metadata\.plugins\org.zend.php.framework.resource\resources\ZendFramework-1\library\ Zend\Loader.php
    Once I will confirm that popup I am presented with another 30-50 of these. After all is confirmed I am finally able to debug my code.
    Can anyone please advise how to setup this mapping?
    PS. I can create a separate mapping for each php file that is mentioned but surely there should be better way than defining 30-50 separate mappings...
    Regards
    Michael
    Nevermind, I have decided to create mapping for all 30-50 files. It works fine now. Good thing its a global setting and does not have to be set for each project separately;)
