Zinio Reader for the iPhone

Anyone out there know when the Zinio Reader will be coming out?? I ever..
Thanks

Possibly after firmware update 2.0 is released, which will include access to the iTunes App Store for downloading and installing 3rd party applications made available due to the iPhone/iPod Touch SDK.
If you are using an unlocked iPhone in Mexico, you may not be able to install firmware update 2.0 on your iPhone in order to download and install Zino Reader if made available via the iTunes App Store.

  • Adobe Reader for the iPhone?

    Hi Guys,
Just wondering is your planing on a version for the iPhone. The one that they use is poor in comparison with yours. No bookmarks and it takes forever to open a PDF with a big number of pages, not to mention the getting around in such a big file. Please let me know if there's something that you can do. Thanks

We are talking about a phone and an ipod. It seems to me that your
complaining that the dancing bear doesn't do the cha cha. However, in
the end the choice is up to Adobe and Apple. Apple does have a habit of
rejecting apps that duplicate the functioning of their applications.
Adobe doesn't talk about applications that are not near release. Time
    will tell.

  • Books to read on the iphone

i know that amazon has a kindle reader for the iphone and you can download books from amazons site ..........but has anyone heard of apple possibly providing the same in the future? - maybe call it the "apple reader"

I use the Kindle application on my iPhone and I do own the Kindle 2. I would consider just reading books on the iPhone, but the screen is just too small and it's kind of uncomfortable to hold for a long period of time.
Here's what I like about Kindle, whether it's on a Kindle itself or through my iPhone.
    1) I can manage my books at amazon.com. I can buy what I want, read reviews, and then buy the ones I want. I buy several at a time to keep my reading list current. I have used the feature on my iPhone, and it works well. I was watching the Daily Show, and Jon Stewart was interviewing an author. I bought the book immediately.
    2) Kindle's Whispersync technology keeps all my books in sync. If I read a few pages on my iPhone, it knows to skip to that page on my Kindle. Cool. But not really important to an iPhone exclusive user. When you buy a book online, you turn on the app on your iPhone, and the book is transferred to your iPhone. It's really simple to use.
    3. The text is clear (you can adjust the size of the fonts). Some images aren't very clear, but few books I read have images.
    4. I keep several reference books on my Kindle subscription for my research and work. In the old days, I knew were something was located in a book by memory...I kind of new where it was located in a book. That's harder to do on the Kindle, but I'm learning.
    5. The number of bestsellers on Kindle are amazing. Even some older books are showing up.
I don't know if Apple is coming out with something. Apple doesn't say much until it actually has something launched. Guessing is an impossibility with Apple, so if you want an ability to get books to read on your iPhone, then Kindle is your best choice. eReader is all right, but it has a smaller library, it's software is much less ergonomic, and you download the books to your computer then move them to the iPhone.
Get the Kindle. It's free. Its books are a good 30-50% discount over published paper versions. You save death of trees. Just realize that reading your books on the iPhone is an acquired taste. I'm not a fan of it (preferring the Kindle itself), but I have read many pages waiting at my doctors, dentists, in line at the grocery store, and any other place I'm waiting with just my iPhone. I can read it for 10-30 minutes without complaint.

  • Does anyone know of an e-reader app for the iphone that has text to speech capability? I have a Kindle 3G that can read whole pdf documents and books but I cannot figure out how to do it on my iphone 4.

Does anyone know of an e-reader app for the iphone that has text to speech capability? I have a Kindle 3G that can read whole pdf documents and books but I cannot figure out how to do it on my iphone 4.
All of the apps I have found on the App store either do not have the text to speech capability or if they have it they will only read a page at a time or simply read the text you paste into their window. I really do not understand what is so difficult about having this feature as Kindle provides it--though Amazon does not make the feature available on its iPhone 4 app.
    Please help.

thanks. yes i am aware of the VoiceOver feature but it is NOT the solution to my problem. as you said, it is a solution to a different set of issues. i want the text to speech ability because i there are books i need to read but do not have the time to sit down and read them and have become used to listening to them read to me either by a professional human reader or with the text to speech software on the Kindle.
I think Apple makes the best audio devices but i am really disappointed in this inexplainable shortcoming. if apple can give us siri they ought to be able to design a nice little button that i can push to turn on text to speech while i am in a document, book, magazine or webpage. clearly it is possible as apple has added the "reader" button in safari to have web pages dropped into the reader format.
thanks for your suggestion though, it is what everyone suggests but it does not address the issue.

Only developer's have access to iOS 6 now. Thus, if you are a developer you have have access to the developer's forum for iOS 6.
Otherwise you have a bootleg copy and are on yur own./

  • This new update for the iphone has me troubled. Nowhere did I see where it was only good for 3GS,4S and or 5. Is this update also good for the 3GS? I'm reading people are haing trouble.

iOS 6 can be loaded without problem on the 3GS.  Not all features are supported however.
With respect to your reading people are having trouble, what did you expect to see on this technical support forum?  People don't write in to state they have a trouble-free upgrade.

  • Can someone let me know if this is true, ive read that iphone are replacing the 3gs 8gb for the iphone 4 8gb is this at all true?

can someone let me know if this is true, ive read that iphone are replacing the 3gs 8gb for the iphone 4 8gb is this at all true?

You do realize that this article ( form August -beofore Apple announced the new iphone) was simply speculating on what the next iphone to be released would be.
You do not have to guess any longer.  Apple has allready released the iphone 4s.
You seem to be very confused about what this is saying.
This article simply guessed that maybe iphone was going to announce a new cheap iphone at the conferance which happend a couple of months ago.
We now know that this was completely wrong.  Apple released the iphone 4s.
The article does not mean that they would give iphone 3gs users a iphone 4 as  a replacement.  It meant that they would not make 3gs any longer and would now make a cheaper iphone 4 instead.
We now know that this was incorrect.

  • Reader app for the iPhone

What is a good app for the iPhone that allows users to read PDFs?
Specifically, I have a form that I created in LiveCycle, and folks cannot read the completed form on their iPhones. (I posted a questions about this on the LiveCycle forum, but never got an answer.)
    Thank you!
    Cindy

One of our people in the field told me that he could open the completed form on his iPhone and read it, and he did so with Reader.
I'm going to try to install that on the other iPhone and see if it works.
Now, if it works, does that mean that I didn't create a XFA form?
    Thank you!

  • Can i use my husbands upgrade for the iphone 6 promotion

My line is technically not eligible for upgrade, but my husbands line is (we are on a family plan with my mom). Last time I upgraded, they let me use my husbands upgrade since his was available. Can I do this for the iphone 6 promotion or will they not allow it?

Can I transfer upgrade eligibility from one line to another?
If you have multiple devices on your account and one is eligible for an upgrade, you can transfer upgrade eligibility to another line on your account whenupgrading your device in My Verizon. When you transfer eligibility from one line to another, the original line is no longer eligible for the upgrade discount.
To transfer upgrade eligibility from one line to another line on your account:Go to the Upgrade Device page in My Verizon.
    Click Transfer Upgrade.
Note: If the Transfer Upgrade link isn’t appearing, you may not be eligible to transfer an upgrade at this time
Select the mobile number you want to upgrade. This will transfer upgrade eligibility to that line.
Select the device you want to upgrade to and click Next.
Follow the onscreen prompts to complete the remaining steps to upgrade your device.
You’ve successfully transferred your upgrade eligibility to another line.

  • How do i convert my imovie trailer for the iphone 4 to other file formats?

I'm due to make a comical presentation in 2 days, and i downloaded iMovie for the iphone 4, and would like to use the trailers created as part of the presentation.
I'm on windows xp, and have sent the file to itunes, gone into the file sharing part, added it, saved it, and even synched the flipping thing and yet it wont even play in itunes??? thats driving me mad as it is??
Not really bothered about that....My real main concern is wanting to play the movie file in an AVI/MOV/MP4 etc format, and have even downloaded various video conversion packages to try an convert and playback my results, but once again, and a few hours wasted, I find myself facing another brick wall.
Is it even possible to playback the imovie trailers created in a more generic video format for others to see??
    I really do hope so!!!!
If not, then apple, i want my £2.99 (about $5.50) back, coz that would be as pointless as a paper ashtray.
I hope ive not had my pants pulled down and wasted my money an time on this.
Please someone help me, or put me out of my misery.

Actually, scrap that one girls. Ive figured it out. For those who have a similar prob, just make sure you have quicktime installed. plug ur iphone into ur pc as normal, and choose the camera an scanner options that appears auto on ur window. select the trailer u wish after the usual wizard talk through and then "ok" or "apply" or whatever the button is called. select your destination folder, and walaa. its all done, and converted into .MOV format.
NOTE:  When saving ur trailer on ur phone, and it asks what file size, chose the Medium one, or it takes ages to open.....unless ur comp is super fast, and not like my craptop.

In iPhone's Settings > Store > Apple ID > Sign Out and sign in the new.

  • Can I use my IMac OS 10.4 (old) to set up a wifi router, such as Airport Base, so I can have a wifi connection for the iPhone I plan to buy?  My IMac is not wifi capable.

Can I use my several-years-old IMac OS 10.4 to set up a wireless router, such as Aiport Base, so I can have wifi for the iPhone I plan to buy.  My IMac is not wife capable.

Yes, Airport Express Base Station connected to your Mac by ethernet will work as a bridge. Or you can connect the AE directly to your router/modem by ethernet if it's a non-wi-fi router and it will act as a relay for that.

  • Can I use my Nationwide Messaging plan for the iPhone 4?

I currently have a plan called Nationwide Messaging (you get unlimited texting and data for $35 a month, and minutes are 40 cents each) which works well for me since I rarely use my phone to talk.
All the iPhone FAQ says is that you need a Nationwide plan, which I have, and a data package, which is already included in my plan. So will this work for the iPhone?

You'd have to upgrade to the smartphone version of that plan for $55/month since the $35 plan is for regular phones and it looks like they're are added requirements to be eligible for that one.
    http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/splash/messagingplans.jsp
"Who is eligible to sign up for the Nationwide Messaging Plan?
In order to establish your eligibility for the Blackberry or PDA Smartphone plan, please bring either a letter indicating that you are hearing impaired on appropriate letter head from your audiologist, hearing health professional, speech or language therapist/specialist, physician, surgeon, vocational rehabilitation agency counselor, teacher or credentialed therapist; or (ii) your membership card for the National Association of the Deaf, Hearing Loss of America, AG Bell, Association of Late Deafened Adults, Telecommunications for the Deaf, Inc or other similar group.
No eligibility is required for the $34.99 Consumer plan."

  • If my iPhone 5 has a cracked screen, can I still trade it in for the iPhone 6?

If my iPhone 5 has a cracked screen, can I still trade it in for the iPhone 6?
I know there is the promotion to trade in for a free iPhone 6, but will Verizon take a cracked phone?
I would hope at the least to still get a discount if not a straight up trade.
Appreciate any info if anyone knows.

You can get an appraisal for your phone here https://www.trade-in.vzw.com/home.php5
I think to get the best price towards an iPhone 6 you have to have the appraisal submitted and new phone ordered by tomorrow (9/30/14) You buy the new phone on contract price then they email you a Verizon gift card after they receive your phone and make the final decisions on how much to give you. (Suppose to take 2 weeks after mailing old phone in)
